[Music] hello everybody Welcome to the channel today let's take a look at the Last of Us Part One on Steam deck Steam OS and I've installed FSR 3.0 frame generation mod by pure dark I've actually done a video in the past with Luke FC's mod but um it did have a lot of UI flickering so another Vier asked me to do a video for the same like game but with pure D mod because he knows that it doesn't have UI flickering and yeah I just installed it and yeah it doesn't have UI flickering you can see I've got the mod on see the subtitles yeah they don't flicker okay so I'm not going to show you how to install the mod because it's fair easy you just like download the zip file and then extract all those to the game folder and you just need to notice that to toggle the mod you press the home key like this and the End Key these are the two keys that are really like uh what you really need so on the steam deck what I did was I go to the games controller settings and then here enable back grip buttons I tockle this on and I set the L5 key to home key and I set the R4 key to the nend key right and I also set the R5 key to the ASX key because the ASX key toggles the frame generation on and off okay so once You' got the home key all right and then um I don't think you should toggle this on don't toggle this on and then for add-ons for add-ons uh the top two these are like by default on just leave them on and these two I turned them on myself not sure if it does anything but yeah that's what I did and then when you press the end key if it's the first time you need to like it has a DRM it like you don't have these settings when it's the first time you launch it it has this red authenticate button you click on it it brings you to a browser you have to log into the patreon because this is a paid mod yeah I forgot to mention this is a paid mod and once you've logg into patreon it authenticates and you've got these settings okay and you can see if I press the ASX key the enable frame generation is checked and unchecked that toggles it on and off so if I toggle it off you can see on the top left corner the FPS counter it drops aut atically all right and make sure enable HUD fix is on as well that fixes the UI flickering so I'm going to tole frame generation on and yeah let's play the game play the game um okay I'll show you my in-game settings So currently display um I'm like using borderless window and then 7 20p um vsync R frame rate cap unlocked I'm using scaling mode FSR 2 on quality I think it's like actually really using FSR 3 upscaling because of the mod okay and then um for graphics graphic preset I set it to low okay because I think if you're using this mod you want um performance right but currently it's on low yes ma'am and yeah let's play some game talk a lot about gaming handhelds especially the steam deck mods cheats trainers emulation stuff like that and also we like install a lot of Windows games on the Steam OS so if that's your thing please consider subscribing ain't been out here in a while there is a little bit of ghosting like it's not really noticeable but if you look in the sky you can see the top see that black line yeah okay if I toggle frame generation off it's not there all right it's not really noticeable if I toggle frame generation on again you can see that yeah that's a little bit of ghosting little bit of ghosting when you like move the camera around uh not really noticeable I've asked pure du about that he says that like it's not really noticeable with higher frame rates but since we're on the steam deck like you can't get really high frame rates so if you're on a PC and you're using this mod and you're getting like over 100 FPS I think that's really not noticeable and some people say there like uh like input lag but uh I don't really feel it like maybe I'm not that much of a competitive gamer maybe some people are more sensitive got it great bring it over oh I haven't played this game in a while can't really remember what to do and I'm also filming which makes it harder it's okay lady you must be thinking of someone else it's all relative this way so for the steam deck I think low settings is okay like especially if you're playing on the steam deck screen that small screen it's not not really okay here's the light okay you might want to go for medium if you want like better a little bit better see how much it impacts the FPS down through here you think Robert still got our guns for his sake he better but once we get our merchandise back it should be easy to unload hold up spores CU we're indoors right now so yeah we still get good FPS it's normally when you're outside that it's there's to load body's not that old better keep your eyes and ears open is a pretty good game should be able to fit through here [ __ ] you okay yeah I think it's really popular now too with the series and everything easy it watch it yeah I think I have to kill this dude all right poor bastard so if you're planning to use FSR 3 frame generation mod like pure dark one is the way to go for this game but it's not the case for every game game some games I think Luke FC's is better like Luke FC's mods like they're more generic you can like use them on like different games and test them out uh pure dark is more like specific he like does the mod for specific games um so yeah it's a little bit different they two different methods I'm glad like we we have a choice and I hope there's more moders doing the same thing like Yeah the more the better really I think currently we just have two main ones I think there are some free mods on Nexus uh I haven't really tested those out yet um but yeah if I have a chance I might want to test those out too if you have let me know in the comments or you might recommend some of the free mods that you want me to test out I could also try that out as well okay so yeah I guess I'll just leave it here um I hope this video helped you out if
