let's check out Horizon forbidden West on the Lenovo Legion go with FSR 3.0 frame generation [Music] mod hello everybody Welcome to the channel today let's take a look at Horizon forbidden West complete edition on my Lenovo Legion go and I'll break this video into three parts the first part I'm going to show you the game like natively without any mods you can see I don't have any mods right now it does have built-in FSR 2.2 so that's what we're going to show off um you can see here in the settings D SS frame generation this is grayed out it's because we're on the legion go it has an AMD Apu so that's normal okay let's start this game first and the second part I'm going to show you how to install FSR 3.0 frame generation mod by Luke FC okay and then finally the last part I'll show you the game with the mod on see if we get any performance gains if there's any issues okay so it might be a video all right okay so let's start the game without any mods first so let's go to settings display full screen resolution 1080p I'm on the legion go bsync off Dynamic resolution off and then upscale method FSR 2.2 on quality and Graphics let's start with low and I turned off motion blur okay so I did did play a bit of this game it came out yesterday I did two videos with the steam deck um and then I played a bit of it I passed a tutorial on the legion go it's a better experience on the legion go uh it's more powerful than the steam deck but it does run on the steam deck you might want to check those videos out okay so I'm actually in the open world right now and you can see in low settings we get like 30ish frames and the frame time is like 30 milliseconds that rock all right let's try to kill one of these okay we killed one okay let's change it to medium settings now so you know like low settings we get 30ish medium medium you see there's a drop there okay still fish okay silent kill all right cool can we silent kill this one that's I think it's moved too far away all right we could all right that's cool like all yeah I think medium settings is The Sweet Spot medium is yeah pretty cool and if we go to High settings settings Graphics preset set to high all right we get like low 20s on high settings and you can look at the frame time it's like 40 50 milliseconds so yeah not recommended to go to high so I think The Sweet Spot is medium for this handheld if you're not using any mods because the mod is a paid mod so that's very controversial I know some people don't like to use paid mods okay so yeah all right let's install the mod and try it out with the mod on so we're going into part two of the video so in order to install the mod the first thing you need to do locate your game folder so I have mine right here and let me shrink it down a bit overlays in the way okay so I've got my Horizon forbidden West complete edition game folder right here okay this is where your exe is okay and then I've got my mod ready so the latest version of The Mod actually is now called Unis scaler it's a preview right it's supposed to be more simplier right so what you need to do um use the Unis scaler ASI drag it over extract it to the root of your game folder okay so I've got it right there and then there's also another file called Unis scaler common right we only need these two wi mm D and wind mm ini ini okay so extract it also to the root of your game okay and then um let's see all right that's basically it we don't really need this for this game you might need it for other games for this game that's all you need these three files and then let's run the game let's run the game you can see that's the mod window it's hooking up okay and then settings right you can see now Doss frame generation you can toggle this on okay but the upscale method we don't have DSS right now because you need to like Run the game once after you've done the settings right just quit out of it and there should be a new file unisal doc config tol right open it with notepad or whatever text editor you have okay make sure here fake Nvidia GPU you you need to set this to True okay true save your file exit Okay and let's run the game again Run the game again now it says no installed graphic card okay it's just a warning okay and now it's recognizing my graphic card okay settings all right now upscale method you can see we've got dos okay and frame generation that's important okay okay let's run the game Run the game see if we get any performance so yeah very simple to install uh but I did try it on my steam deck I haven't got it to work yet so it might be a little bit different there okay so let's go to settings again display you can see uh everything's the same but the upscale methods changed to DSS this is actually FSR 3 all right and it's on quality and we've got DS frame generation on okay Graphics let's start with low and we'll walk work our way up okay let's continue that part that we were at so we can compare it oops okay so the problem occur with your display driver oh okay so this isn't actually this is really dlss so that's why it crashed because um I set it to Doss I think that's not correct I think we should set it to FSR 2.2 okay let's set it to FSR 2.2 I think this is the correct method that's why it crashed I think uh because it's really using DSS and we don't have an Nvidia display card so yeah that's why it crashed on us but we still like use FSR and frame generation we should get a boost in performance so let's see settings display okay now it's FSR and dsss frame generation on Graphics low all right let's see if we still crash I don't think we have a crash anymore so if you're liking the video so far make sure you hit that thumbs up button so it gives me encouragement I'll do more videos like this really helps out the channel as well okay all right so immediately you can see we've got a big boost remember we were at like 30ish frames now it's like 50ish 60 and no UI flickering no ghosting no HUD issues stuff like that you know you know the drill these mods and the frame time is pretty good like it's it's 18 19 20 milliseconds not too bad there's um low settings low settings okay let's get some materials and let's fight these arrows again can be a pain okay snake strike that's cool build one of them okay uh let's try other settings Graphics medium yeah medium's The Sweet Spot like 50 or 60 frames okay let's see if we can kill this one okay killed him oops there's another okay so how about high graphics high graphics what do we get so we get 30ish all right so if you go to high graphics it's like the like without this mod but low settings so you can go to high graphics and you get 30ish 40 it's not too bad if you want better graphic Fidelity right not no ammo let's craft some that so yeah this mod definitely worth it if you're playing Horizon zero Dawn on Le go or Rog Ally I assume it will be exactly the same so this High preset graphic preset and we're getting 30ish 40 25 milliseconds frame time in the open world not too bad let's check out medium settings again so if you want uh performance over Graphics around 50 around 50 frames and on low I think can we get like constant 60 yeah I think we might be able to get like high 50 60 so if you want a smooth experience yeah I think low settings is really good because I really can't see much difference in the Graphics really especially if you're on like handheld mode you're playing on the screen on the legion go screen so yeah very good overall very good experience this mod works perfectly for this game um
