foreign [Music] [Music] oh hi welcome Happy Starfield Day to all who celebrate how's it going everybody Welcome to September it's the first day of autumn don't you know and Starfield is out in Early Access and we're going to play it incredibly can you believe it's even here um how you doing chat how's it looking how's it sounding and not the lot to see right now this is literally the the starting the pre-starting screen in Starfield so it's just me the start screen my gamer tag up there in the corner and you find folks in a little bit of ambient music that I've been vibing to for the last hour while I set up um so let me know if there are any technical foibles I need to iron out as we get started but otherwise um yeah we're just gonna have a very chill couple of hours playing the very first two hours of Starfield I literally haven't played it yet I've been so busy today um I was meaning to like you know do a little rehearsal play the game ahead of time just get my hand in and then you know kind of pretend that I've never played it before but genuinely honest to God you and I I haven't played it yet um which is a real travesty because obviously I'm very excited for Starfield um so to declare intentions today's going to be a very laid-back kind of stream I've been thinking about how there are two wolves inside me one is just so hyped for Starfield cannot wait let's go go go go and then the other one which is like it's the first of September it's Friday feeling quite mellow feeling kind of Spacey in that kind of ambient mellow vibey way so um the second wolf one and we're gonna we're gonna do it her way right in the chat welcome everybody a lot of excitement for Starfield some people have played it some people haven't played it we are literally going to be playing the opening two hours so um if you're I mean if you're really spoileriverse you won't even be here if you're a little bit spoiler reverse then don't worry I won't be looking at anything playing anything you can't reach within the first two hours of what is going to be a many hours long game so I think that's a that's a reasonable amount of spoilers um but yeah uh I've just been the um the startup screen is kind of it's I don't know some Planet you know rotating the star kind of appearing around the back um I've seen many rotations of this mystery planet so I think I'm just about ready to get started um out sophisticated in the chat says I'm still not convinced this isn't a very elaborate prank from Todd and it's possible do you know what I could press new game right now and then it's just a video message from Todd Howard going like psych Jane um this was all a big Jane trap um it was just yeah bait to get you to plan a two-hour stream um well jokes on you because uh we're just gonna watch this um watch this planet rotate for the next 120 Minutes Wyatt King just says Jane simply Jane and I appreciate the encouragement Cindy Helms in the chat says hey Jane I was busy playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 last night it's currently 10 in the morning and I've been up all night so I might just be lurking hope starfield's fun though lurkers are welcome please go ahead and lurk Alex Wright in the chat says did you all get a copy of utterly Bonkers Starfield constellation Edition and if so who's got dibs on it you know there was no there was no constellation Edition delivered to um to the outside Xbox offices there was no crew jacket and I'm not bitter I'm fine Todd so no one's got dibs on it because we didn't get one we got the game we just about finally got the game and here it is uh crawling chaos says hey Jane will you guys be playing any of the new Destiny content it's possible it's possible there's a lot of stuff going on at the moment I still haven't got as far as I would like in Baldur's Gate three um and now Starfield is out so it's gonna be a busy busy busy month um but anyway I think we need to play some Starfield basically because um from what I've heard you don't get out into space straight away so should we get things on the space Road start a new game this is when we find out if it is all a massive hoax by Todd Howard confirm please be a real game here we go there's a little little Ambience a little game audio right now that I hope you can hear give me a shout if uh if you'd like a little more volume um Michael McGarry says I cannot wait fancy right yep yep these are these are all people good eyeliner going on though gotta say it's a big beard that's cute okay usually I sort of try and approximate myself but I'm not going to put you through I'm not gonna literally put you through an hour of me trying to replicate myself in the Starfield character creator so let's just started what 22 something like that to see what else we've got going on here yep recognize you 've got this guy and this girl this one and oh oh yeah heck yeah I love a sort of digital lavender mullet going on there awesome uh some some cool fades in there and another bun Bun's very popular in the distance based future Little Pony and I wonder if the guy from all the um like the Starfield deep dive you know the sort of preview gameplay I wonder if he's here as a preset okay Kate says yes my favorite part I like this part too but I worry that I'm gonna bore you so do let me know if it's all getting a bit too menuy a bold lip bold lip for your space career [Music] in the fiction of the game my supervisor has given me a tablet and it's like are you any of these people and like there's a picture attached to these records so either has my face been so badly messed up by the space artifact that they can no longer recognize me is that what's going on here oh that was that was nice that's nice by the way I quite like that yeah good good blow dry on that guy oh and a neat little Bob that's quite cute I kind of like that obviously we can do further customization but it's just about where we want to start hmm okay okay chat I see your comments but believe where you could like use connect to scan your face in and mine created this absolute Abomination um of horror yeah okay um let's start with 26. wait let's start with 26. because I'm I do like their hair and then sorry and then do we want to be muscular thin heavy I mean let's let's find out oh I see right it's kind of a right there we go all the muscles or extremely slender there we go or on the heavy side over here I think a little muscle tone a little muscle tone maybe around here yeah gonna need all our strength and then um find body type one or two I think that's yeah there we go let's make it a little rounder I guess sure fine and then hair I mean I chose it for the hair so we're gonna stick with the hair and I mean it's not my color but it is a very good color so let's stick with that eyes what do we got oh I see oh all the variables okay oh I don't know uh let's have a look anything jump out at you folks I'm gonna go for no um I only stick with one and then oh gosh more variables more sliders okay needs more cheekbones says Rick Sweeney um we'll see if we get to a cheekbone sort of situation eyes Okay eyes variables narrow wide fine scale bigger smaller slightly bigger more expressive yeah uh back forward oh that's to do with how they're set isn't it I think I can't really can't retell the difference there okay down or up oh no too too far too far yeah it's fine it's good shape blends okay now what does this do do we think shape Blends is it kind of oh right I think we're like combining the other eye shapes just kind of like blending versions of the eye shapes I think not all together clear and not all together visible when I slide it um cat M says I like that the sliders look like DNA test results yeah they do they do look a bit like that um what about makeup is that just like hang on uh I don't know is that just done is that makeup is just kind of like baked in or am I missing oh I'm missing some menus here we go there's way more eyebrows okay here we go folks choose your eyebrows looking for a bold brow no not not the skinny one like maybe like go with I could see a an eight working and then let's make them kind of dark so it's clear that before her hair was lilac it was black like so maybe like that would that look better with something more like that perhaps yeah maybe forehead oh boy okay forehead narrow wide backward forward shape blends I mean the forehead is mostly hidden behind like a very short Fringe or bangs there so I don't know how important that's gonna be eyebrow six please okay well since you've got a strong preference for York Rose I will give you eyebrow six oh no that's color sorry wrong eyebrow six eyebrow six with a little notch okay yeah all right um uh nose all right let's find a a good nose I kind of like five's nice that was pretty good uh I mean they're all so cute look at these look at this array of adorable noses who could who could possibly choose okay let's start with one that we sort of like and then we could oh uh nose tip down up you can have like a kind of ski slopy sort of nose or something that's more like downturned like that I tend to oh does that look strange it's like strange it's hard to tell with the lighting um I tend to do that because that's kind of it's kind of what my nose does it's like that so that'll do um Death Note BB says I'm face blind so I barely worry about detailing the face myself I go by bass face and pick hair for that okay um is again my hair is covering quite a lot so I'm not too fussy about it unless you've got some kind of pointy Vulcan ear in there in which case I will have that that's kind of a little bit pointy in Vulcan number four [Music] there's something about number eight I'm not I'm not a verse to number eight I think let's go go with the first instinct for four yes cheeks right where have you put your cheekbones oh that's pretty angular and a little bit Fuller and I mean there's very subtle distinctions between the cheeks going on here that's kind of Fuller there we go and kind of a bit Fuller and lower there [Music] I like 11 combined with maybe a Bonia version which is like a combination of 11 and two what do we think that's going to look like there's two if we go half eleven and a half two oh wait there's no there's no 11. what do you mean there's no 11 how is that supposed to oh okay nine fine nine nine and two like that how's that look yeah I mean it's fine it's good uh John pale says how long do you reckon this stream is going to be Tom two hours yeah that's what we're aiming for um I promise you it's not all going to be uh character creator not all of it right uh okay here we go and okay cool right where was I uh cheeks cheekbones fine mouth okay okay all right well I know we don't have connect anymore but it does feel like it's not Beyond current technology to like give me a face scan and then just give me give me a character who looks a bit like me that's sad that one's a bit sad um okay it's like I've never really looked at my mouth before um uh I don't know I mean the first one is the kind of the beauty one isn't it that's the the full lips and then kind of like the first one I think it's I mean maybe we can customize it under bite versus overbite scale down or up think scale it down a little and then what does Left Right mean does are you actually moving your mouth to The Off Center if you have an asymmetric or if you want an asymmetrical mouth that's the one for you um how long do we want the chin I guess let's move it down down a little yeah sure fine okay teeth oh what a smile okay um there's not so many options for teeth that there's a sort of blackened version there and then sort of I think the first one is probably the straightest and whitest and I mean yeah it's the distant future I've probably spent some of my mining dollars on getting my teeth done oh sorry happy potato says who's running a drill there's um there's a little bit of of building work going on nearby so I'm sorry if that does pick up should be ending soon I mean it is Friday at 4 30 so there won't be too much of that I think right jaw okay jaw we won powerful jaw for biting and tearing I imagine I expect uh it's kind of a softer rounder jaw that just looks like the colors changing I think it's the lighting is changing isn't it there we go um it's fine that's fine that's fine that is fine and then we can make it a little wider maybe no I don't know I don't think so think what you want generally is to not move the slider too far from the center in any character creator because all the animations would be sort of calibrated for sort of something in the middle so if you take it too far in either direction when you step into the game as this character the animation like um uh the kind of yeah the animation is going to look a bit off because you've given them a weird sort of frame skeleton to to map that onto anyway chin okay chin many chins app like that close enough can you see it's fine I think that's fine and then and then neck okay what kind of neck do I imagine having I'm gonna say two unless something really jumps out at me really spectacular neck here uh these are all great necks everybody um I was fine with two let's go with two jewelry now you're talking what do we got piercings little nose ring I'll go for some earrings maybe a nose piercing hoops I feel like a liability like a health and safety issue little Hoops though maybe 13 13 for the little hoops oh or the you know the top and bottom all right let's go for that little Hoops jewelry color gold or silver or ever um I like gold we have gold golden option it's getting close brass silver sort of stainless steel I mean this broth with gold per se you should go with like a sort of lilac to go with the hair there we go Derm aesthetic so that's what like skin texture oh no okay more like freckles and stuff I could go with some freckles I got freckles um some a little bit of freckles okay I'm not they are almost indiscernible to the human eye there's a little bit of freckling yeah how much of these am I really going to see in the course of playing the game do you think that's fine intensity oh yeah we were we could crank the intensity up a little bit couldn't we seems it's quite quite subtle fine don't make me regret this game because all of this stuff looks fine in the Character Creator but if I get out of here and I've made some kind of monster then it's on you Todd Howard complexion color temperature okay so this is like with your like a cool or cool or warm also winter sort of look uh okay uh I don't really know what I'm doing with this one so I might just stick with the first one because that's what I'm used to now and everything else looks kind of not like what I was going for complexion blemishes oh even more freckles can we get now you're talking there we go a little scattering freckles fine scars maybe maybe show me what you've got game cool scar across the eye that's a protagonist scar If Ever I saw one and oh boy what did that that's some storytelling there and mouth oh boy okay now she's had her mouth sewn shut at some point that's a pretty dark backstory there um and then there's a joker sort of Chelsea Smile thing going on a broken nose maybe at some point in the past it's a pretty bad injury whatever brought that on oh that one's kind of good I like how that one like intersects with the eyebrow that works I like that that seems authentic that she's got a scar right where the uh the eyebrow hasn't grown back so that makes it less more of a sorry less of a cosmetic eyebrow Notch and more of a kind of a scarring that's cool I'm gonna go for that um intensity yeah leave it where it is game knows best facial forms who wants to guess what facial forms means facial forms um oh okay so eye bags other kinds of eye bags not sure can't tell uh I'm not oh okay kind of crow's feet uh oh that's kind of like uh lip markings there some kind of like pitting some texture some skin texture some scars some more wrinkles less wrinkles kind of fine veins I guess um I'm not loving any of those I gotta say I mean that looks like me on three or four hours sleep so I'm just gonna go with that forgive me for being basic but I'm gonna do that and then oh even more eye bag options okay that one's that's quite natural I don't mind that that looks like me when I've had five hours sleep so maybe facial forms number two there's a cleft chin and oh okay so this is just like these are the same things it's just like if you want more than one of them okay all right I'm gonna go like that tattoos here we go Carl mathenia in the chat says I'm playing Starfield and it's awesome yeah if you're playing Starfield while watching this stream if that is you then let us know shout about it uh Von Rex is very nice likeness without having spent hours modifying it yeah if you're not into um spending hours in a character creator I feel like you could create something that's quite like quite you know like nice looking quite acceptable quite like heroic protagonist looking without spending ages on it okay now now now okay um it's a choice to put like a astronaut cat on your face maybe it has a special significance here in the year 23 30. there's another cat are these all gonna be cats taught oh okay some kind of like circuitry circuit board uh some kind of animals [Music] more kind of like Swirls and some kind of symbols massive triangles pretty cool I I am feeling like not getting a tattoo and who knows maybe I can get a tattoo later in the game and I will um but I think if you pile too many elements on top of your character in a character creator it looks like it looks too character creatory if you see what I mean so I'm not committed to a facial tattoo is the uh is what I'm getting at cheeks didn't we do cheeks already I know I love a character creator but come on now the people want to see the game oh I see it's makeup right it's kind of makeup we're talking about now oh wait I left a I left a scar um I left a tattoo on there um I I'm not loving the placement of any of those blushes so I'm going to go with one which I think is basically none or very little and then I think this is just all the same again so I'm gonna go with want a little blusher just like just like a little bit maybe what kind of colors can we choose yeah something a bit more nude There we go lipstick base I really like the lipstick as it is I'm gonna I think I'm gonna just leave that where it is lipstick accents oh boy okay so like lip gloss lip liner oh like an ombre that's kind of nice though actually yeah I might go for four kind of a fancy ombre who says I can't have a fancy ombre eyeshadow now I am thinking of less eyeshadow actually because I've just put my makeup on for A Hard Day's Work in the mines and I probably wouldn't have gone to the full like rainbow pastel um YouTube tutorial so let's go I guess can I just have none I guess if I go here is that none I mean it's not none I can see some if I go there and then turn the intensity way down and the colors are sort of more nude neutral color there we go and then eyeshadow lower I turn the intensity down again there we go you okay chat you hanging in there okay good less eyeshadow for sure says cat from the Kong okay I feel mitigate I feel mitigated I feel Vindicated okay eyeliner yes to eyeliner I know I just said I wouldn't go mining with makeup on but it's different eyeliner's different you gotta have eyeliner um and that's got to be a black or a dark color there we go where'd you keep your black or dark brown or something what have you anything they're all kind of like funky space colors I just want like a a nice yeah there we go I think that's it I think that's like a gray or a white though these are all kind of funky eyeliner colors can I not just have a classic like Smoky black cat eye or something if you're still watching this stream can I just say thank you because this is this is Jane plays in the most authentic chain way um come on Todd Howard you never heard of a black eyeliner okay that's like a brown that's like a brown I'm gonna go for that one okay intensity darker there we go eyeliner lower um let's go let's match who's got time for two different eyeliner colors and then maybe slightly less intense there we go okay dirt how grubby am I I don't want to commit to a permanent amount of dirt so no dirty please okay how do we look stand back and look at our character good I mean not like me not even a little bit but I I'm enjoying the character so good uh did I miss eye color I actually kind of like the side color so I guess I don't really need it but I don't remember it must have been all the way back up here here we go I must have skipped over it do you have any cool space eye colors in here like uh could I have like had myself genetically modified I mean that's was it pretty cool quite like number nine for that oh gosh uh uh kind of cool kind of a little bit eerie I like nine let's go for nine okay okay I think I think we're there I think we're there and we are 43 minutes into this stream okay yeah I'm into it Avalanche in the chat says 30 minutes in the Character Creator only Jane's trying to speedrun it this is basically speedrunning for me so I appreciate your patience let's play some of this actual game shall we because well now that looks cool that looks really cool I really like that hair within the serious like serious spacesuit I think that's a nice contrast right I already had to think about which um which background I want at least I was thinking about which traits I want so which starting skills um Chef is quite funny combat medic cyber Runner I don't know I don't think I want to play a stealth build um I read a few reviews that said uh this kind of like traits and background obviously makes a difference to the way you play but not so much that you'll go into it and be like dang I've made the wrong choice so I think we can I think we can um not spend another 45 minutes in this part you'll be glad to hear okay romance trait says Stuart badminton yeah no you're right Stuart you're right what am I doing why am I looking at anything except for romance trades let's find the romance traits okay let's look for Charisma let's look for um charm and let's look for uh seduction I mean there's persuasion there's persuasion right there um space scoundrel okay I've decided space scoundrel is a front runner and then there's sculptor Ronin Professor Pilgrim long hauler ah um Homestead gangster Explorer diplomats that's got persuasion 2 and commerce but I've also heard money's not that not that important not that hard to come by so I don't know that business is going to be a huge asset for me and then and then we're back to the start so I'm sort of going towards space scoundrel persuasion piloting and Pistol certification I mean I am gonna have to shoot things so it doesn't hurt to be good at shooting things does it so let's say let's put a pin in space scoundrel because it leaves me open to be like a good guy bad guy but also I will be persuasive um and I would be good at piloting okay Elena Smith says you can finally be a doctor yeah you can so if that's something that's if that's something that appeals to you you can be a combat medic and you can have medicine but um I think for this playthrough I'm gonna go space scoundrel now here we go I really liked um the trait they put in one of the early gameplay previews where your parents are still alive and you can go visit them and I thought that was really wholesome and adorable and like really unusual for a role-playing game you know your parents are like fine and well and just off somewhere else so I quite like that as a little bit of you know role-playing texture so let me see if I can find that one um let's see where is it uh spaced serpents Embrace raised Universal raised enlightened neon Street rat pretty cool kid stuff here we go your parents are alive and well and you can visit them at their home but you will automatically send two percent of your credits home to them every week that is so wholesome that you're sending like sending some cash back to Mom and Dad so I'm sorry I'm I like the I like the tension of like being a space scoundrel
