[Music] in this video we are going to learn about spiders doesn't that sound like fun but first we want to hear from you six-year-old Claire from Alabama said my daddy and I love your video so much we watch them every night that's very cool that sounds so special mrs. Powell's second grade class from Bolivia watched our Eiffel Tower video and said we learned a lot about the Eiffel Tower thank you for sharing it you're welcome thanks for enjoying it so much and finally nine year old valaria from California watched our brain video and said I enjoyed learning about the brain I liked when the cats were playing the piano we liked that part too that was fun very cool be sure and watch this video to the end to learn how you too could be featured on one of our videos well as we mentioned earlier in this video we are going to learn about spires it's gonna be great it's gonna be awesome I spider time spiders are cool animals I mean look at this guy our spider friend Gus okay how many legs does Gus have can you count them real quick how many legs does Gus have yeah he has eight legs he has eight legs [Music] in fact all spiders have eight legs not just cute cartoonish spiders like Gus all spiders have eight legs so if anyone asks how many legs does a spider have you gotta say eight legs all spiders have eight legs now prepare to be shocked and amazed the fact that spiders have eight legs means spiders are not insects yeah when you see a spider the spider is not an insect it's true spiders are not insects you see insects have six legs but spiders have eight legs now there are other differences too but that's probably the easiest difference to spot the number of legs insects have six legs and spiders have eight legs hmm if spiders are not insects then what are spiders huh what are spires what type of animal is a spider well spiders are arachnids can you say that word with us arachnids yeah arachnids spiders are arachnids arachnids are very similar to insects which is why people sometimes get confused okay so spiders have eight legs and they are arachnids not insects trysting but what are some other interesting facts that we can learn about these incredible creatures you might be familiar with this what is this yeah this is a spider web a spider web spider webs are made of silk isn't how awesome spiders make the silk themselves and they use the silk to make these elaborate spider webs which almost look like works of art but are there to catch prey and you can see that this spider actually already caught something right in the middle of the web [Music] sometimes spiders leave their webs and don't use them anymore if there's a web that's not being used by a spider anymore that's called a cobweb have you ever seen a cobweb before cool but not all spiders make webs for example tarantulas tarantulas are spiders that don't make spider webs just like all of the other spiders tarantulas produce silk they just don't use them for spider webs tarantulas like to sneak up on their prey and attack in fact the biggest tarantulas are able to eat mice bats birds and even snakes hey Gus oh we've been learning about you know we've been learning about spiders did you know that spiders are found on every continent of the world except Antarctica okay all over the place spiders are all over the place and it's actually really important that spiders are all over the world you see spiders are very helpful to us human beings you see spiders eat things like flies mosquitoes roaches fleas and much much more it's important for us to have spiders around because we need flies to get eaten in mosquitoes and brooches and fleas it's very important Thank You spiders you really are our helpers you're so helpful so hopeful spiders as we wrap this up we do want to mention one thing to you it's important for us to remember that most spiders don't like to mess with us they like to leave us alone really big and spiders just know that they're not able to eat us but if we go near them or touch them or mess with their things then they might get frustrated with us so it's important to leave spiders alone and if you see a spider inside let an adult know that's very very very important because you don't know what type of spider you're dealing with August the end of the spider video we had so much fun learning about you guys learning about spiders you know what cool arachnids you are you know you're cool arachnids and now the kids know that you're you're not an insect you know spiders are not insects you know and they're gonna share these facts with their friends you know Gus they're gonna share these things they learn so much and hopefully they had a good time you know all right Gus we gotta go so maybe we'll see another video you know maybe not though cuz you know you're a spider you know this is kind of the only video you're probably gonna be in you know oh well well bye so you made it to the end of the video you are awesome remember the kids comments we promised you we would share how you two could be featured on one of our videos with the help of an adult leave your first name age and where you are from along with a comment you can share a joke a silly message or just share how much you love us if you are watching this as a class you can leave a comment too just share your teachers name your grade and where you are from for a chance to be featured on one of our videos we hope to hear from you
