[Music] hey friends are you wondering where I am well I am in space but hey I have traveled 4.6 billion years back in time exactly when our solar system was formed well since we don't have that much time let me fast-forward the process and tell you about the formation of the solar system zooming it is believed that our solar system was formed when a cloud of dust and gas was disturbed by an explosion of a nearby star called the supernova the star exploded with a bang and its effect traveled in waves all around these waves squeeze the cloud of dust and gas resulting in its collapse all the little pieces of matter that started out running away from each other got back together by gravity soon the cloud began spinning at a tremendous speed and there it was a beautiful solar nebula in the making just for some extra information a solar nebula is a large cloud of gas and dust from which the Sun planets and other solar system bodies like asteroids meteors and moons were formed okay so let's now continue from where we left off when the spinning slowed down the center of the solar nebula became hotter and denser which was surrounded by a disk of gas and dust that was cool at the edges at the heart of the nebula there was a ball of hydrogen gas whose pressure and temperature became quite huge and the particles began to fuse together there it was a new powerful star coming into being yes that was a sun shining like a fiery ball they were infinite number of particles that began to stick together and formed clumps some clumps got bigger and bigger and bigger forming planets and moons uh-huh so now you know how the planets were born isn't it it is also believed that since the center of the solar nebula was hot it was easier for some planets to form in there like Mercury Venus Earth Mars and Jupiter the rest of the cold planets like Saturn Neptune Uranus etc performed at the edges triviatime did you know that the Sun takes of 99% of the solar system's mass this means that we are technically living inside the atmosphere of the Sun the rocks that belong to Mars have been found on earth and guess what we didn't bring them here does that make you raise your eyebrows time for me to get back to earth tune in next time for more fun facts this is me zooming out hey friends wondering where I am right well I am in space and do you know what that is that is our galaxy and it's called the Milky Way do you see that that bright light is our solar system that's where we live come let's take a closer look at our solar system zoom in this is how our solar system looks like with planets revolving around the Sun the Sun is the main source of light for all the planets our solar system has eight major planets Mercury mercury is the closest planet to the Sun or urine mercury is 88 days long and you know what you will see mercury from Earth in the year 2016 venus venus is the second planet from the sun and it is the hottest planet in the solar system that's because it has high amount of carbon dioxide which traps heat inside it earth this is my favorite planet for obvious reasons of course Earth is a unique planet with suitable climatic condition landforms and water bodies with support life in all forms moon is the natural satellite of Earth Mars Mars is often known as the red planet because of its reddish appearance it is home to some of the largest dust stones which can continue for months and cover the entire planet [Music] Jupiter Jupiter is the largest planet of our solar system it also has four moons one day Jupiter is just about nine hours 55 minutes making it the shortest day of all planets Saturn there are about 150 frozen moons around Saturn the largest one is called Titan this planet has beautiful rings around it made of dust and ice Uranus Uranus is a very very cold planet with temperatures dropping to about minus 224 degrees Celsius it takes about 84 earth years to revolve around the Sun out of which it gets direct sunlight for 42 years and the rest remain and godness Neptune Neptune takes about hundred and sixty-five earth years to revolve around the Sun it is also known as the ice giant and it has about fourteen moons trip your time did you know that we also have 512 planets in our solar system Ceres Pluto Eris Makemake and Haumea Jupiter's moon Ganymede has more water than the earth whoa that's so much information for today I am tired now so this is me zooming out tune in next time for some more fun facts doctor by NOx doctor by NOx whoo hello friends the best part of a pizza is its crust Oh yummy just like this pizza the earth too has a crust but with no cheese in it so let's learn something about the structure of the earth today it consists of the crust mantle and core zoom in this is the Earth's crust it consists of all kinds of rocks soil and everything you see above the Earth's surface you will be surprised to know that the crust that is the land on which we walk is almost three times thicker than the crust under the oceans and it extends to about 25 miles the Earth's crust floats on this layer which is called the mantle it is made of thick solid rocky substance and amounts to about 85% of the total mass of Earth the first 50 miles of the mantle consists of very hard rigid rocks the next 150 miles are made up of superhot solid rocks below that for the next several hundred miles the Earth's mantle is believed to be made up of very solid and sturdy rock materials the mantle is about 1,800 miles thick and by far the largest layer of Earth the Earth's outer Co is made up of superhot liquid molten substance called lava this lava is believed to be made of iron and nickel it extends to a depth of 3,000 miles beneath the earth's surface and finally we have reached Earth's inner core the inner core extends another 900 miles towards the center of the earth it is believed that this inner core is a solid bog made of iron and nickel the crust occupies less than 1% of Earth's volume the inner co is the hottest part of the earth and it is as hot as the surface of the Sun surprising isn't it looks like it's time for me to zoom out before I get break in this heat tune in next time for more fun facts [Music] whoa you're laughing right watching me tumble like that are you oh no no go ahead haha but hey do you know what just happened oh there we go again well this is nothing but an earthquake a small one indeed come let me tell you about earthquakes today zoom in the surface of the earth is like a jigsaw puzzle yes it's not a single piece of land but approximately 20 pieces of a puzzle that constantly move but you don't feel it because they move quite slowly each one of those puzzle pieces are called tectonic plates so whenever those plates get bump a slide past another plate and earthquake is caused the surface where these plates slip is called the fault or the fault plane so when do you think it happens well it happens all the time but hey don't be scared most of the times we don't feel the quakes as they are too small to reach us but sometimes they are so strong that they can be felt over a thousand miles away the place where the earthquake originates is called the hypocenter and the place where it occurs on the Earth's surface is called the epicenter there are three types of earthquakes convergent boundary here one plate is forced over another during an earthquake which causes a thrust fault many hills and mountains have been formed due to the convergent boundary divergent boundary your plates are drifted apart from each other forming a rift zone this kind gives birth to new ocean flows transform fault here the plates slip by each other and this is also called strike-slip so earthquakes are nothing but the shaking rolling or a sudden shock of the Earth's surface now you know that whenever the other stressed or angry it shakes and crumbles don't be scared I was just kidding trivia time the instrument used by scientists to measure the intensity of earthquake is known as a seismograph a tsunami is caused when earthquakes occur underwater Oh yikes I need to rush before I come home again so this is me zooming out tune in next time for more fun facts whoa hello friends who are you wondering what this is well it's the molten lava that comes out from a volcano come let me tell you what a volcano is zoom n I'm sure you've seen mountains that open out and blurt out think molten some solid like substance well that's called a volcano let's learn more about it a volcano is a vent or chimney that connects magma from within the Earth's crust to the Earth's surface the liquid rock is called magma when it is under the Earth's surface and lava after it comes out so how does a volcano erupt the molten rock stone in the magma chamber Rises through the crater pipe pockets as it travels up the main vent gasses expand and water becomes steam creating pressure when the pressure can no longer be contained the volcano erupts through the crater and secondary side vents common volcanic gases include water vapor carbon dioxide sulfur dioxide hydrogen chloride hydrogen fluoride and hydrogen sulfide popular belief is that volcanoes are large cone-shaped mountains but that's not true there are many more types of volcanoes such as white plateaus preshow vents and bulging dome shapes there are also volcanoes found on the ocean floor and even under ice caps such as those found in Iceland trivia time the word volcano originally comes from the name of the Roman god of fire Vulcan the tallest volcano in the solar system isn't on earth at all but on Mars so tune in next time for some more fun filled facts this is me zooming out ha it's raining hey have you ever wondered where the rain comes from or how the clouds are formed well this is what the water cycle is all about come let's explore zoom in when the Sun heats up the rivers and oceans water becomes water vapor and it rises up in the air this process is called evaporation it is the first step of the water cycle you too can see water vapor at home just tell your mummy to heat some water and as the water gets heated you'll be able to see the water vapor rising up in the air when the water vapor reaches up in the sky it turns into tiny droplets of water these water droplets along with various gases and dust particles come together to form clouds this is known as condensation now hold a cool lid over the vessel in which you heated water when you open the lid after some time you'll be able to see water droplets on the lid that's exactly what condensation is the cloud becomes too heavy and it cannot hold any more water inside it busts open to give out rain hail or snow this is known as precipitation as it rains water gets collected in oceans lakes and rivers it even seeps through the soil and becomes groundwater thus water cycle is a continuous process of evaporation condensation and precipitation triviatime did you know that even plants sweat that's called transpiration that's why it rains more in places with more trees like in stations and forests sometimes no directly comes in to water vapor without melting into water that's called sublimation this happens a lot in cold countries oh I need to run now it's raining again so this is me zooming out Killman next time for some more fun facts [Music] did you see that look how the water flows from the top of this mini hill and gets collected here this looks like a river and this looks like a lake are you getting confused ha ha ha don't be come I'll tell you more about the water bodies on earth zoom in ocean oceans cover more than 70% of the Earth's surface but that's too much water isn't it then why do we have water problems all around yeah well because ocean water is salty and not safe to drink the oceans of the world are the Arctic Atlantic Pacific Indian and the Antarctic Ocean the Pacific Ocean is the largest and covers around 30 percent of the Earth's surface sea the sea is found where the land meets the ocean it is smaller than the ocean and is actually a part of it just like how the Mediterranean Sea is a part of the Atlantic Ocean it also has the most confusing spelling River a river is a strip of water that flows through many places it begins in mountains or Hills where melted snow and rain water gets collected the beginning of a river is called the source and the end is known as the mouth and there's some good news for you rivers contain fresh water well buy fresh water I mean water that is suitable for you to drink River Nile is the Bulls longest river which passes through seven countries Egypt been one of them lake a lake is a large area of water surrounded by land lakes are formed when water finds its way into a basin it could be through rain or underground water hmm it will be quite sad for you to know that lakes need a continuous source of new water otherwise they tend to dry up there you go sometimes lakes are formed when meteors hit the earth so it's not always bad when a big bulging meteor crashes on the Earth's surface trigger your time the Dead Sea is not a sea but a lake the reason why it's called dead because it contains high amount of salt water and no living thing can survive in it so let me enjoy my nap it's time for me to zoom out so tune in next time for some more fun facts [Music] you Vegas mr. deal oh and there's mr. crow hey mister dear how did you oh I'm good what about you hey there meet mr. deer and mr. crow no don't get confused they are nothing but the shadow of my hands come let me tell you more about shadows so many shadow is nothing but the light that cannot pass through an object but hey you can only see shadows of objects that are visible to eyes for example a tree will have a shadow so will you and I but not air and water because light can pass through them you can have multiple shadows it all depends on the number of light sources the mo the number of lights the most shadows you will have oh there goes mr. deer again hey you got to see how mr. gear changes in size this reason behind it when I move the lights away from my hand the shadow becomes smaller in size and when I bring the light source near the shadow becomes LA when you put the light sauce just over the object you get the shortest shadow hello mister dear looks so small now hmm now you know that the size of a shadow depends on the distance between the light source and the object it's hard for many to believe that light travels in a straight line yes it's true light cannot bend or turn around that object to light up the area behind it when there were no clocks people used to estimate time using the Sun clock a shadow cast by the earth on the moon results in a lunar eclipse the source of light being the Sun so this is me zooming out tune in next time for more fun facts whether the lights go is it night already mmm-hmm no dr. by knocks something just hit the Sun it's scaring me oh don't worry bunny this is nothing but the Eclipse here take these glasses hello friends thanks for passing by as you can see the sun's got hidden and it's really dark out here do you know what it is don't worry it is nothing but the solar eclipse come let me tell you something about the solar eclipse today zoom in a solar eclipse occurs when the moon comes in between the Earth and the Sun causing a shadow of the moon to fall on certain portions of the earth from these locations it appears as if the Sun has gone dark since the moon is very small in front of the Sun it only blocks a part of it hence a solar eclipse cannot be seen from every part of the earth but only from the locations where the shadow of the moon falls so buddy no reason to get scared now is it no dr. binocs not at all the three major parts during a solar eclipse are Umbra and Umbra and penumbra the Umbra is the portion of the moon's shadow where the moon completely covers the Sun this is when the total solar eclipse occurs where you cannot see the Sun at all aunt Umbra is the area beyond the Umbra here the moon is completely in front of the Sun but doesn't cover the entire Sun the outline of the Sun can be seen around the shadow of the moon and that is when you see the annular solar eclipse penumbra is the area of the shadow where only a portion of the moon is in front of the Sun this is when the partial solar eclipse occurs which lets you see only a part of the Sun you could see how the solar eclipse works in your homes take these two balls the bigger blue ball is the earth and the smaller white ball will represent the moon place them like this and light of the torch the torch will be a Sun there there you just got a homemade solar eclipse amazing isn't it trivia time one should never watch the solar eclipse with bare eyes because of the harmful UV rays the longest of total solar eclipse can last is seven and a half minutes so now if day suddenly turns into night you would know it is the solar eclipse this is me zooming out tune in next time for more fun facts Hey care to look at what I'm reading I am reading about the lunar eclipse let's see what it is zoom in a lunar eclipse happens when the earth moves between the Sun and the moon blocking the sun's light from reaching the moon come let's go to space and see how the lunar eclipse occurs you see them the Sun the earth and the moon look how the moon is slowly passing from the penumbra to the Umbra hey stop stop this is the penumbra the region beyond the Umbra okay moon when the moon travels to the penumbra we see a penumbral lunar eclipse where the moon is faintly visible to us when the part of the moon is in the penumbra and a part of it is in the Umbra we see a partial lunar eclipse and when the moon travels to the Umbra we see a total lunar eclipse there are times when the moon appears to be red oh don't be skinned I'll tell you how that happens as we all know the Rays of the Sun are made up of red orange yellow green blue indigo and violet when the sun rays hit the atmosphere of the earth most of the colors get scattered away and the color red remains due to which we see a red or a Blood Moon during a total lunar eclipse trivia time the word eclipse in Greek means downfall now solar eclipses always takes place about two weeks before or after a lunar eclipse [Music] so now you know quite a lot about the lunar eclipse don't you this is me zooming out tune in next time for more fun facts [Music] you [Music]
