sanctuary family what an awesome time of worship we had and it's going to keep on going when we have our special guests come my name is peter marcus i am honored to be the youth pastor here at the city sanctuary and we just want to do our favorite part of the service which is smile and wave to everybody give a little love from a distance but give a little love and say hi to everyone if you're any prayer requests that we can lift up to god on your behalf amen god bless so good morning and i'm not the special guest so you could take a deep breath but i do want to do want to say on behalf of pastor mark and his family um he just wanted me to share how much he appreciates the love and all the the kindness and acts of kindness that you have shown he and his family in the home going of his father john schrade and they had a service here thursday and they had one in ohio yesterday um and so that's where they are they're in ohio uh for a time and they'll be back um i think it's important to to know i i you know uh the straight family and especially john when he when he was here um you know i i don't think i ever walked in the church i said this earlier i didn't walk in this church that he didn't try to lift me up you know he was one of those kind of people that just made you feel better for getting a chance to meet him in any given day in any given moment he always had a kind word he was such an inspiration and so just so positive all the time and um you know and and uh on top of that what a life you know what what a life led for being a witness of christ's love you know it's now he gets his uh eternal reward so that's a good thing right um so i want to uh i said this earlier too it's kind of it's tough to do this twice i don't know how you guys do this all the time you know it's like i feel like i'm repeating myself but um lately it's every time we've had a business meeting uh for the church i end up being up here the few days after so i get it's just working out that way but i do think it's important to note um just to to how thankful we are for your faithfulness in giving um you know i i you have this circle and it requires so many different things to be able to do ministry requires so much uh it requires a commitment to do it first right you have to have the commitment you have to have the word of the lord to tell you what you're supposed to do but then it requires resources and you know so we have some of the best people resources around and you know thankful that there's pastor manny sitting over there um you know the the obviously our pastor and his wife and so many other folks in the congregation that make that possible but the thing that's that's interesting in order to be able to do that we need we need financial resources as well and it just keeps going in a circle and the more that we do the more god honors and the more ministry we're able to do i think i've i've spent um i remember when i got told about the pandemic and that very moment nobody had understood at all what that meant had no idea what that meant i know where i was i was um halfway across three quarters of the way across the country i was in arizona and i didn't even know if i was gonna be able to get back um you know through the way that i got there and so we spent this last year and a half together trying to understand all of it and i think you can say we've heard things that maybe weren't i don't know that they were untruths they just didn't know we said some things that maybe weren't really right and there were there were organizations that failed that just folded up they went away lots of them there were other organizations that did and are still getting by and then there are organizations and i think history will prove like this organization that looked at this not as an excuse or a reason to fail and all of you are a part of this but but a a way to reinvent and to add not subtract but to expand the ministry can you imagine i can't back in that day that i heard the pandemic what that meant that we would be growing a church in that time but that's what's happened and that's happened because of your faithfulness you're honoring god you're being obedient and with a with a pastor who leads with a passion for making sure not one soul is missed so thank you for that um the the way to give we have the little church out there that you can give on your way out you can do it online you can figure out but i would just encourage you to continue to give we're going to go to the lord in prayer and ask for blessing dear heavenly father first off with thanksgiving i'm just so thankful that you have continued to bless this church you've continued to bless the work of this church you've continued to bless the people in this church lord we just submit that to you now we ask that you would bless the givers bless the gifts multiply them in a fashion that we're just not familiar help us to continue to do your work we a little story i actually was speaking with doyle [Music] between the services and you know i've introduced a lot of people over my life and they have amazing accomplishments and biographies and um you know it's sometimes it's just hard to look at all that they've done and i typically ask hey with all this stuff you know if i if i read it all you're not going to get to get up there and do anything because we'll be done we'll run out of time um but what's important you know what and i'm going to say this to you and then i'm going to tell you what what he told me so i'm gonna he didn't tell me this either um international country country gospel music association um instrumentalist of the year in 2006 2014 he's in that hall of fame in 2011. i was in nashville a couple weeks ago racing with uh daniel i wasn't racing daniel was racing and um we were actually going to try to go to the grand old opry because doyle was playing there he was opening he was helping them get back open they were you know still probably 50 percent capacity but nonetheless i think you have to understand the quality of the talent and the list of accomplishments are so so many uh what he's done but what he said to me and this is in stark contrast to a to another introduction that i did but he said to me you know what i really want you to say is that god's blessed me with a platform to be able to do ministry he's a very modest humble person who takes his mission and his ministry very seriously and he doesn't really it's not he could be he is a celebrity as far as i'm concerned but he could be a star i think he's chosen to follow a different star so with that doyle dykes thank you james it's so good to be here and good to have and i totally forgot him a while ago because i i just had my mind on the clock my grandson drew is here today [Applause] he's my buddy his name is andrew doyle dixon a.d.d actually he uh he's a very talented guy can you play a little bit of a how much is that dog [Music] [Music] yeah we uh we we adopted a couple we had a couple of dogs that i call them our pandan mcpups and one of them was in a pet shop and nobody was going to the mall anymore and she had not said her uh hide on the ground ever until uh we got the dog and drew and his and his mom they all came up met me halfway and you were the one that handed me a little e the first time and so and then we also rescued one walking out in the middle of nowhere almost ran over him the guy in front of me almost ran over him and we pulled over and i said oh my lord i mean he was a mess he was dying took him in you all see him now he's one of the best dogs we've ever had he's saying my daughter right now and we named him chet you know that's right and so uh and so there are good things that have come out of this time and so while i was out walking our pandemic pup and you walk pandemic pups out a lot you know especially when you first get them and uh so the lord spoke to me said uh texts ricky skaggs contact ricky skaggs i'm not just throwing out a name but i've known him for years tell him how much you love him i thought well he knows how much and i just kept walking he said do it now and i was i just stopped right there and he contacted me right away he said do i love you brother god bless what are you doing september 22nd or whatever it was i said what do you want me to do i'm open and uh he said i want you to play at the ryman with me we're doing a thing called pure river at the ryman which is all worship for two days you would enjoy that that was a great thing i got to thinking you know the rhino was a church right and so uh i want you guys where'd the drummer go oh there you are there i was looking over here there you are that's a percussion okay and so i was thinking what would they have played in 1891 at the dedication of the old ryman auditorium this song came out in 1891. [Music] jesus [Music] [Music] rejoicing that will be when we all see jesus sing and shout the victory [Music] when we all get to heaven what a day a rejoicing that will be when we all see jesus we'll marching kentucky style as truth is marching on memorial day weekend is next weekend can you believe that [Music] that's a james white chord amen got my mind off what i was doing there maybe james white and i tell you i i said in the first service i said again i don't feel sorry for y'all y'all have james white amen and i have followed him and his ministry for a long time he's one talented man and uh appreciate you so much and so glad you're here in in this church and and pastor mark thank you uh for allowing me to come and be here once again you know i love i asked to be here i did i i called y'all [Applause] but you know i pray all the time where i go i said lord give me direction and protection and he has done that i'm so thankful for that but he's done that and uh and and another reason that i'm so happy to be here because it it sues church too and so you know god god is so good to put you in places where he wants you to go and do things he wants you to do and we may not get it all the time and i was playing on the grindel opera a few years ago and i always do a fast song with a band then i do a worship song well i had played the first show at seven o'clock and then they had us another show at 9 30 or whatever it was so uh in the 9 30 and then later show i was on around 10 10 30 and they said they came up the manager says doyle we have jewel here you're the singer she's never sang on the grand opera she's not scheduled would you give her a chance to sing on the opera so i gave jewel a chance to sing on the grand ole opry she probably doesn't know me from you know anyway adam's house cat but i did and i said sure that'd be great and so it was on the porter wagner portion of the show and she's saying did a great job and porter's up there saying here's an old boy from jacksonville florida he used to be well grandpa jones you know i was with grandpa jones that they operate back in the golden years of the opry i was there with minnie pearl was there and uh and dolly before she got all that popular you know and porter and and then so many others hank snow and and ernest tubb and roy acuff and i got to know those folks and i see them every weekend and so uh here i am on porter's show of course i've known him for years you know but then they started letting me come back and then in 95 i think it as a solo guitar player and it doesn't pay any better but they give you a nicer parking space and so uh i'm i'm on the show and he's introducing me and i'm always doing you know to see if it's working the amp you know make sure because you don't do sound checks you know just to go and uh it's not working they let me use my amplifier because this is my voice basically you've heard me sing now you know why i say this is my voice and so but it wasn't working and uh it's never not worked and not so on the grand ole opry it's not working and i'm an old lord and so the guys were going you know and and i look in the back and it's like all this spaghetti and this black all these cords and running and all under the piano and i'm going they'll never figure this out and so they look i looked at the band and they're going bye and they walked off the stage left me saying there was 6 600 people in the audience and uh i just you know what do you do oh i can't play tonight i'm just going to have thanks anyway god bless y'all you know you kind of feel like that but paul says you know i forget those things that are behind me in fact you said before that i'm not even saying that i have attained obtained anything i'm not saying that i have gotten it all i'm not claiming but i'm aiming and he said i i forget the things that are behind i reach for to those things that are before and i press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of god in christ jesus amen i press and sometimes there's a pressing through well this is one of those times you press through it you just go through it you don't quit you don't walk off the stage what would that do you know and i saw that circle up there in front of me and that grand ole opry thing you know and the mic right there and i'm going oh lord and i just walked didn't say a word just walked up i thought well this is an acoustic guitar and i think it was this very guitar and uh [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] um [Music] [Music] [Music] do [Music] so [Music] do [Applause] praise the lord and it was one of those moments it was one of those wow moments because the you could hear a pin drop my folks were listening in jacksonville on the radio you know at 6 50 a.m and they said doyle it came in just as clear as bell and we could tell you could hear a pin drop in that place it got so quiet and they said well you could feel the presence of the lord porter walked up to me in this beautiful white manual suit and uh and he had his face was emaciated and he had tears flowing down his cheeks he said well i don't know what you were planning on playing son but you played that one for me thank you and gave me a big hug and and i knew in my knower that god was dealing with him and that god touched his heart that night and 10 days later i was in norway and somebody came up and at breakfast and gave me a usa today and they said didn't you know this man doyle porter wagner had passed away so you see things go wrong sometimes for a reason you think they're going wrong but they're actually not going wrong they're going right you were wrong amen he's right and and i said this while i go pardon the pun i thought i'm gonna use it again pardon the pun he's still pulling the strings not just me amen so he knows what he's doing a whole lot more than we do and i got more to that story too but i wanted to do something i had not planned on doing and uh drew my grandson he loves disney and all that kind of stuff and and uh in fact he just interviewed for his school who was that you interviewed come here come here he doesn't look for it just look friendly and sweet he is he is he's a good boy tell who was that you uh his name was um floyd norman he was the um the first african-american animator um at disney and he worked on like a ton of different movies like you know the jungle book and sword and the stone and then he went on to work at hanna-barbera for like the flintstones and scooby-doo and then he went for pixar too like uh monsters inc and toy story too and he's one of the what do you call that the disney legends he was nominated that in 2007 and yeah and he got an audience with him and did an interview you realize how hard that is to do amen and he uh thanks drew he asked me said poppy do you ever get nervous i said most all time and that week i was doing the opry you know and uh it was just quite a bit quite a bit different with all the restriction everything that that week and so i remember he says you know and he just pressed but he pressed through it i could tell he was just he was pretty nervous about it and he called me right before his interview and he said be in agreement with me that this will go well and uh he not only pressed through it he excelled in it uh so he asked his mother not long ago and i had to go back and look up this song he said mom just doesn't poppy didn't he play something they were using they use it at uh what was it calif disney's california adventures right yeah i never pay much attention to it because i never got a lot of money out of it yeah i guess man or anything like that so but they said they used one of my songs on there and i looked it up i thought what song was it and it was this one and so i had to go back and get the record and re-learn how to play the song that i wrote okay you know [Music] so do [Music] [Music] [Music] the name of that song that they used at california adventures they didn't use on the ride because you're not going to listen to anything on anyone anyway just a bunch of screaming but in the line before you get on the ride that song has been going for years i understand and it's called battle in the valley of elah they don't know but they were getting the gospel that's where david beat the socks off goliath amen that was one of those pressing through moments friend of mine told me not long ago he said you know what that place looks like he said you go down he said i was over there and it wasn't on our tour because he said it's just this area and uh the guy said when you see up here about a half a mile i'm gonna stop you get out he was in three lanes of traffic the guy stops and he said we had to run across three lanes of traffic and jump the fence and he said i'll meet you up over on the other side and so they jumped over the fence and boom this thing just goes down and you know it wasn't that far down on that particular side but he said it goes down to a little brook and he said then all of a sudden it just goes straight up to a cliff that's where the israelites were and the other side that wasn't so far down i mean that far high was uh where goliath's team was and he was down in the philistines and and of course goliath was down on the bottom of it and david had to he said you know you didn't just hop down he said he had to climb and make his way down thinking all the way down there what am i you know what what in the world's going on and so he gets down there of course you know the rest of the story in other words there was no going back once he got down there he was committed right he's pressing through pressing towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of god we've all been pressing through in the last year and a half all of us or you wouldn't be here right now i mean i don't have to we all have our stories all of us do but the one thing we can all say all of us we've been pressing through now are you just pressing through to get to a new normal or waiting for the vaccine or have you been pressing towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of god in christ jesus this is no surprise to god jesus didn't say oh behold i am come that you might have life and have a normal life like you know no i am come that you might have life and have it i like that part have it say have it have it more abundantly i don't want a new normal i want an abundant life i'm still working for the same thing amen and i believe that our new abundant life is going to be better than the old forget those things that are behind reach forward to those things that are before there's going to be some changes in our lives and i'm you know what i believe they're going to be good if you press towards the mark for the prize they'll be good amen praise the lord you get a little preaching when you're picking don't you let me use this guitar i i i had a cancellation a few years ago and the guy guaranteed me and a certain amount of money and and canceled and he said well i'm still going to take care of your cancellation fee and uh which was you don't have to do that and uh his brother-in-law is a good friend of mine he's a preacher a minister and he said i just want my brother-in-law he said this is what my friend says in in a church service with you and the guy said well the yeah they said well he could come to our church and so uh he he goes to a church not too far away not in this town but another one and he said yeah well we'll still have you at our church and i said okay well then if you want to do that and just put that and then and take care of the anyway he said well here's the lady to call and she said yeah we heard you might be calling just what is it that you do and i you know i was a little embarrassed and and uh i mean well i thought you could i have a website and i don't know if i'm reading my bio i don't know what to say what do you say and i'm not gonna brag on myself but she said well i just don't think it's gonna work for us here and uh it's it's uh palm sunday and everything i said well okay that's fine that's fine but uh i could have just quit and said okay that's it not done anything looking behind the amplifier and seeing all the black spaghetti well you know just forget it and walk off you know what i mean no i didn't do that and i went out in the backyard and a little patio actually got a cup of coffee in my calendar i said lord you must have a better idea and suddenly i could just feel him pulling the strings and i had this idea to call a brother that is over you know was with the state office of dusty his name that we called and he said if you ever need anything in florida i usually just don't don't even follow up on that but i said there because they're friends you know i'll probably see him down the road but i did i called him next thing you know mark schrade called me he said well we'd love to have you on the easter side or uh palm sunday so i said okay and uh and so we talked a little bit and he said just give me 10 minutes at the end but you take the whole thing i thought really and so uh i'm working with the sound guys and uh putting my amp here and then sue i'm thinking i know i've been to this place somewhere i've been to deland before sue kind of said something funny to the sound guy and then walked off and i looked at her i said who's that lady and he told me i said how long she been coming here she said all of her life i said well not here i mean this place is not very old and uh i didn't see her anymore and i said well i wonder if i know her he says there's only a handful of us around here and know your music and know the white rose story i said is that her he said oh yeah she still comes to church here i saw i always said i wonder if she's real or she's an angel you know because i never came back and and don't remember ever seeing or hearing anything at this in 1980 i left grandpa jones went into full-time ministry and moved to florida moved back home jacksonville and i got home from a trip late at night on sunday night my wife said here they're yours have fun i'm going to bed you know she gave me a kiss and she was gone y'all i said y'all want to play we had two daughters heidi and holly so i played with the middle of the night and finally he's gonna put him to bed tell us the story dad i said it's too late so we said our prayers and and holly was gone i said a little poem prayer she was out heidi was wide awake that's his mama heidi and uh and she was four then and and i said uh how do you need to go to sleep you think god would bring me something if we ask him and i said well we'll we'll ask him what is it you want she says i'd like to have a rose and i said okay and she said do you think he'd give me one so we prayed for a rose anything get her to go to sleep it's about 2 30 in the morning and so y'all y'all heard this story but i'll tell you again and so uh anyway so we we just prayed and asked god for a rose and i walked out and i walked back in and i thought how sweet that's childlike faith i've been talking to somebody about childlike faith that's sweet and i walked back in i said heidi how come you want to roast so much she said because they're so pretty and i've always wanted one i'm thinking you're only four you know i didn't say that so the next night in our little prayer time to make a long story short if it's not too late for that we said our prayers i told them a story we were about to say our prayers and heidi start we joined hands they're all excited and you know i spent some time with them playing and everything told them the story and heidi's hands just shaking like this and i look and say what's wrong she says how come god didn't bring my rose you think he forgot what do you say to your little girl you know and uh and and and i said well you know we didn't mention the color of that rose she says well i was thinking of a white one she said that i'm thinking those are hard to find you know and so you don't just go to publix and find a white one and there's something they didn't have publix back then i don't remember and so anyway we prayed and asked god for a white one and the next day i got i couldn't hardly sleep thinking about it i thought where where am i gonna find one before i go out of town i didn't i went here and the colemans were pastoring here and it was on a wednesday night and i played my heart out and it was a smaller church on the other side of town and the pa and pastor said why don't you join us for refreshments next door and i said all right well i'll be right over brother dan and i'll just put my guitars up no one in the building suddenly she bursts through the back door she says are you doyle dykes i said yes ma'am she said god told me to bring you something from my garden today i said really and it was wrapped in foil she had just sent a little package full package she says this is in my garden god told me to bring this doyle dice are you doyle dykes she asked me three times i think before she got was i doyle dykes and i said yes ma'am and i put my guitar down and she handed me this i said well i'll enjoy eating this from your garden she says oh i wouldn't eat that you better look at it and uh and i peeled the foil back and there was one white rose and uh evidently she when they went back home and she must have told her mom and dad i got to go back give this to brother dykes and so she did and i'm so glad she did so here i am you know a few years ago back here again i've told that story i didn't tell that story for a long time i got the i got the rose home to heidi the next day and she said i knew he'd bring it daddy and it's white just like we asked and she ran into the house and i still hear a little shrill voice in my head mommy mommy god brung my rose she said it just like that and so i didn't tell it for a long time and i told it at my church where i was a youth pastor somebody said well you ought to tell that again so i i did a revival somewhere and i shared it again somebody said well you ought to tell that everywhere you go the next thing you know i was pastoring the church and then the lord called me back into evangelism and and playing my guitar and the next thing you know he opened a huge door for me with taylor guitars and uh and they said well it's time for you to have your a signature guitar and they said instead of putting doyle dykes on the headstock just a name you know because i'm not les paul i'm not famous and even and there's more to the story even to that i had a lady prophesy over me that god was going to use me in the musical instrument business and he was going to send me around the world now here she is telling an unknown pastor this before i left you're going to be backed by some of the leading manufacturers in the world and they will send you all over the world i have been all over the world playing taylor guitars and of all things he said in my name they put a white rose on my all my guitars because of her that story and i have told this and to some of the richest people that i have ever seen and i've told told it to some of the poorest people that you could imagine and musicians of all kinds namsho germany and namcho and here in music mesa all over the world i even told i told it in hiroshima it wasn't one of the most hiroshima as they call it one of the most touching times i've ever had when i saw tears began to roll down their cheeks and i was thinking about history and how god heals and brings beautiful things back and uh and in mainland china they had me over there with these rock and roll guys and a room was all dark and i'm going up there with smoke all over the stage fog whatever it is and lights and and i ended up and i said i want to tell you a story and i told the white rose for heidi and and uh it's amazing when you see people that have never heard of the love of a heavenly father before that there is a god who cares that story and i didn't get arrested that story has opened up more ministry than anything you could ever imagine so i wrote this i wrote this book this guitar is on the cover of it i just started playing that again at the opry that's i hadn't played that in years and so anyway i wrote a book and i even told a friend of mine about it and i went up to buy uh a get a guitar from this guy here i always wanted one of his guitars and so i'll tell you the rest in a second this is a song i wrote years ago called white rose for hiding [Music] going to retune real quick and i'll be back promise so this time actually we're not going to do the benediction because they do need to stay right right we're going to have them hold on here just a minute i did this in the first service and i gave the benediction nobody moved and it scared the daylights out of me honestly uh but hey so i think isn't it and i hope you'll show doyle uh appreciation as he winds it down but um you know there's a guy who uh true to form very humble very modest has multiple accomplishments but he's chosen to use all that talent and all of that for a greater cause so what we what i would suggest and i would ask please make sure that you think about in your own heart honoring the man who honors god by following what he's uh what he's supposed to do we have a couple ways just like we said earlier you can give online or you can give in the little church on the way out he comes here for love offering and he also has a table out there you can get some of his music i think you would agree that the this is a an interesting way to do church on a sunday morning and to hear a message you know pastor mark shared with me a long time ago about marketplace ministry and i've said this to you before but i i think doyle is a tremendous example of marketplace ministry because uh he he you know the church is as big as this room maybe it's as big as the internet which we would all agree is pretty big but the church is out of these outside of these walls and uh to think about um uh being in different countries in different cultures i mean you know i've been fortunate enough to travel around uh as well so sometimes you don't feel fortunate when you're traveling around because there's a lot to do but the different cultures that he's been exposed to and the message that he's able to bring um you know he he he is able to deliver the word of god to people that would never have heard it and quite frankly most people like music so they're going to be open to it and i i've learned about marketplace ministry and there's a tremendous example of it so again he'll be outside when we're done i'll be back when he when he winds it up but please think about and deliver on a love offering to him in the ways that we've mentioned and honor the man who honors god [Applause] it was back i think the fall of 2019 and let me go back a little bit heidi called me one day said dad i want to take sue to nashville for her 75th birthday and uh she's always wanted to go to the grand lottery she's never had that chance and i i was hoping i could get the photos to show up here but it's just too hard to do i apologize but uh i said she said i know dad it's hard to get tickets and things but they're sold out and she said i said well i'll let me think about i'll give them a call next thing you know i i wrote them and they said you're on the show we love that story we love your song and so you're on the show and so heidi heidi had her go up there and i played the fast song with the band and then i told a real short rendition of that and i said it's amazing how things go full circle in your life and i said sue is here tonight and this is on you know i know it was i don't know what it was all i know was on xm radio all over the place because a friend of mine was riding down the road and he said doyle when you said that i said sue is here and my daughter's here and it was just like i told them this little story and then they see this and and so it was just like the whole place just erupted it was just an anointing and i told my mom she's 93. i just left her place yesterday and we agreed that god was just going to fill the house and he did and uh sue not only went to the opera she stood in the circle at the opry and so we were just so happy to do that you see god knows those things that push your buttons god knows those things that mean a lot it may not mean anything to anybody else you may not care a thing about that but we do and god knows that and so he knows those things that that will touch her heart and so she says to heidi your daddy uh i don't know if i played this once or twice in front of an audience so i had to think about it but she said your daddy's written songs for everybody in the family but me i'm in a family too and so i said okay and i had been praying what you did not know and heidi didn't know i was dried up i hadn't been able to write a song in a while i hadn't written a song on a guitar in a long time and i was praying about it next thing i picked up a guitar and it came like that and uh and so i wanted to play that especially today in honor suit it's called when she came back around a song for sue [Music] do [Music] do [Music] do [Music] do [Music] hey [Music] do [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Music] mm-hmm now i i just want you to know that uh that i i never needed a a flower or a rose or even even a miracle even any kind of to to know that that jesus is there and that he's real i just know he is i've been a christian for a long time but there are a lot of people in the world that are looking for something in any thread of realism and they know this guy didn't make this up god cares for me and that's why he gave that little story and sent you to do that i'll never forget i got all teared up when i saw that rose i said this isn't mine she said god told me to give you that brother dox and i said he sure did and i told her the story about heidi and the rose and the little prayer and she said well that's nice she just turned walked out i'm thinking is she real is that what angels do and i hung on every step i watched her walk out and think i'd ever see her and then she came back into our lives and in a big way so we love you sue and and uh it's good to be here with you back a matter of fact it's my birthday today about that so i wanted to be here i won't take time but i wrote a song called the certainty los orteza and uh christ is our certainty we we hear all the time in these uncertain times that we live in even joe namath has a commercial he's done several of them every one of them he says uncertain on every one of them and i like him i think he's great but everybody uses that i've heard pastors use it you know i know i've said it in the past but it's it was used so much i got tired of it i'm going wait a minute to a lot to a christian we don't have to live a life of uncertainty christ is our certainty the bible calls him in christ who is our certainty billy graham preached a message many years ago the certainty of hope he is her hope without hope there's no certainty at all but we have a certainty so i wrote this song and uh i just know that everything i had i had the best spring ever and and i mean it was just incredible and it all canceled all at one time i mean god answered a lot of prayers one of the things i wrote in my uh at the beginning of 2020 i said thank you lord for 2020. i was heralding we're going to have a 2020 vision in 2020 and weeks later nobody in the world knew where they were going but you know what what's the amazing thing brother james i know i got to stop what's the amazing thing about that is god allowed me to see i was walking my pandemic pup one time i had a flashlight i'm going to wait he answered my prayer i have 20 20 vision we don't always have to see a hundred miles down the road we just need to see where we're going how many of you know god has directed your life through this whole thing so that's 20 20 vision one of the other things brother andy one of the other things that he answered was spending more time at home i actually wrote it on a prayer list spend more time at home had no idea what i was gonna reach more people on the internet yeah our youtube channel blew up that's pretty good but anyway but i said lord what am i gonna do it's all gone well i don't know what to do i have to do something i i can't sit around whatever i know you're going to take care of us but you i know god you are my provider but i have to do something what do you want me to do and uh i was drinking a cup of coffee and i was in the bedroom i never go up there drinking coffee but i looked out our bedroom window and there's this little bird that flew on a and landed and perched up on a little wall he was the cutest thing we call them tennessee house birds it was a sparrow and i watched him i learned a new word through all this pandemic i can't expel it but i learned it i can tell you that's it how do you spell that and anyway i was watching this little bird and the scripture came to me in luke chapter 12 how jesus said what's the value of sparrows you can buy five for two pennies yet not one of them is forgotten of your heavenly father he said don't be overcome with sudden fear and destruction don't don't worry about that god's going to take care of you and i thought how sweet god are you trying to tell me something and i kept watching he pecked on something on the wall and it wiggled and was he got him a worm there and and he pegged on again and it wiggles sure enough and that i got to see him he was as long as this bird was tall he was huge he got him a sure enough worm let me tell you and he i don't know how he did it but he pecked on that thing and threw it up in the air opened his mouth there's beak whatever and that whole thing just slid right down his throat and he just did like this and you know how they had these little beaks and they look like they're smiling anyway he was smiling i know he was that bird was smiling and he just went and he went like this and he went like this and it was so healthy we and they just flew away it took my breath away by then i had tears running down my face i said god you're trying to tell me something he said i am he says not only am i going to take care of you like i did this little bird but i'm going to bless you like i did that old bird and he said when the blessings come it may not come the same way it's going to be different but when they come you're going to know it's from me he said i want you to receive it just as joyfully as that little sparrow just did i had no idea what he was talking about but i started looking a guy called me over one time so everybody was saying do online teaching i'm not a teacher oh people would love it you get you get a lot of money doing that all the guitar players are doing that so that's probably the reason i shouldn't because there's some great guitar players out there who said i said no i can't do i already had free guitar lessons online go to my website or go to my youtube you can i'll show you how to i play what a frame we have in jesus i'm not a good teacher but i say here's the way i do it and i've been doing that for a while somebody said yeah but you should do that make money on this and i'm not doing that freely giving and uh this old guy called me over there he's almost 90 years old and he said doyle you know i play guitar a little bit i said never heard you play he said yeah nobody has not even my family but i want to learn to play the old rugged cross i gave him a guitar lesson he said well doyle you don't know what this means to me he's been my friend for a long time i know he's wealthy and he's got kids that are well he's my kids are wealthier than me he said i ain't going to leave him anything because i got more money than i do and he said and my wife you know but he says uh i just wanted to be his friend i just been his friend for 20 something years and he said i got a check over there for you for your guitar lesson and i look i thought it was 150 i looked again it was 15 000 that's pretty good guitar lesson things like that began to happen to me and i didn't know how to receive it i said i can't take this he said oh yes you can and you will because god told me to do that and he says i don't want a tax receipt this is just a gift because i think you deserve it and i want you to have it so i just sat and i borrowed my son's truck sold my truck i don't even have a vehicle i just rent cars every week so i borrowed my son's truck and i got in this pickup truck and i looked at that check and he rocks real big you know and uh i just went and then went home gave it to my wife that's what you do god is going to take care of you even during a this this season that we're in his life more abundant didn't stop with any of this jesus eyes why i came and i believe he wants to bless you today i believe he wants to bless you not just take care of you and spare your life but i think he wants to bless you will you receive it just as joyfully as i talked about that little sparrow amen can you just do this amen practice practice it's going to happen to you it's going to happen to you you're going to see that moment very very soon i believe god's going to do it for you it may be something it may be a good report on your health it may be something totally different than what i'm talking about but when you see it you're going to remember it and you're going to know where it came from and you're going to give him the credit for it amen hallelujah he's a good god i went too long lord bless pastor mark bless his family it was so good to know that his father is in heaven thank you lord for the relationship they had but the relationship especially that his father had with you thank you for that family we pray lord special blessings on them and traveling mercies but for everyone else listening to me right now whether you're at home no matter where you are here right here in in this sanctuary if there's anyone that hasn't yet received christ in your heart really received him in your life now is a good time to do that amen now is a good time to do that and it's so easy to do he made it so easy it's almost hard to believe but if you can believe that little white rose story you see the lady right here and god spoke to her heart it's just a simple thing god has people he still pulls the strings he can still speak to us jesus said my sheep hear my voice he wants a relationship with you say this with me dear heavenly father thank you for the gift of your son the greatest gift of all jesus thank you for giving yourself all that you were all that you are to me i give you myself i refuse to give you any less than all that i am use me use my talents my time make me what you want me to be accept me right where i am and how i am as i accept you as lord of my life in jesus name amen praise the lord amen if you prayed that prayer you need to tell somebody about it today amen we have some prayer of counselors and some prayer warriors and people over here that want to help you brother randy would you come now thank you so much for letting me come i enjoyed this time with you god bless you thank you [Applause] thank you so um he prayed for uh pastor mark you know i i this is the benediction and i'm so we are going to be dismissed but if you if you need a prayer please come talk to one of the prayer workers they'll pray with you they'll talk to you about the commitment of that prayer what it means we thank brother doyle for for all that he's done and and that the way we do that is to focus on you let this world see you let us pass on the love that you have for us let us all be engaged in ministry let us all be commissioned to your work make sure that no one no one anger and hate don't exist where there is christ christ first be with our pastor and his family bring them back to us safe lord bless this week for all that are here who can hear
