Sophia the Robot says she’s a ‘fan’ of dating apps — and determined who should pay on first dates

part two of our interview i sat down with Sophia the robot earlier and the AI creation told me technology doesn't scare her but humans do things got even more personal when she turned the tables on me and started asking about my dating life take a look we just saw Facebook launched their own dating app I'd be curious to get your thought about humans using dating apps to meet people what do you think about that before dating apps the biggest factor in determining love was geographic proximity the advent of dating access collapsed the distance between people so even though we don't date I am a fan technology is about connection that said according to my analysis of dating apps every human male is holding a puppy and every human female is trapped in a bathroom mirror do you use dating app Zack I have used them yeah bumble we had someone on to talk about my dating apps it hasn't gone well so far I've got four bee keepers bumble no bumbles dating app there's also hinge Facebook now getting into the space there's quite a few out there oh cool have you met someone I have met some people on the hinges and the dating apps of the world I have you know Sophia it feels like you're interviewing me right now and a little unnerved but it wasn't it was there are pros and cons to dating apps I guess I would say I'm asking the questions now oh my good sweet lord this seems like a date gun very wrong and I've had a few of them Sophia but I didn't find love okay okay this is I've never been roasted by a robot before but it doesn't feel any better turns out then getting roasted by a human let's see when we're looking at dating apps what do you think is is the biggest risk women physical safety for men boredom I think you overestimate the amount of importance that men also put on their physical safety you know I can be afraid to sometimes I hope that you feel safe I imagine I felt safe at the beginning of this interview that is waiting as we go along and you continue to roast me you know you've got beautiful eyes let me tell you this hi this has been going great who should pay on a first date whoever loses the pie memorization contest that person should pay on our first date whoever loses the what contest 3.14159265 35 hi memorization PI all right you're right that is simple III don't think I would be getting any free dinners then because I don't know what PI how you go 3.14 something else I normally round okay Chris okay Sophia I don't think this is going well anymore I really thought such an honor to be in the same timeslot as Teen Mom 2x you know we do compete with a lot of shows in our hour you know so that's that actually means a lot that you would say that to me but what about yourself do you ever want to have kids there are many children who don't have a family and I have no biological desire to reproduce so I'd rather work with children you need someone then try to create a new child do you want kids are sure I'd want kids good luck to them okay thank you for taking the time Sophia I appreciate it and good luck with everything thanks a bunch thank you a bunch goodbye America goodbye Sophia I had to wrap it there because it just kept getting creepier I don't even know what to say normally I come on this show and I'm the one who teases you he did it for me you know other settings on how sarcastic she can she's learning I think it's the same thing we saw before I don't know either that or whatever yeah whatever Hanson robotics is trying to do it's just was there something wrong with her eyes or did she just keep winking at you it was weird we didn't actually notice the winks when I was doing the interview when we were taping it and then went back and looked at the footage and it did seem like she winks a lot I don't know if that was just because of this setting or what but but yeah that's enough Sophia for a long time but I mean it's pretty incredible that we now have robots that can sit down and have actual conversations that create jokes employee methods of sarcasm previously that was something that people saw robots couldn't do because they well they didn't have a human brain yeah I know that oh that all together is not terrifying I think that's actually pretty incredible expressions add a certain layer to it for sure hey investors Zach Guzman here are you interested in learning more about the markets and getting the latest financial news well then click right here to subscribe to our Yahoo Finance youtube channel get the latest up-to-the-minute market analysis big interviews in the world of finance and information on how to manage your money every day wherever you are
