♪ I'm still all alone ♪ ♪ I see me and you at the prom ♪ (laughing) Welcome back to the channel guys, it's me, Joel, from Roomie Official. The one guy on YouTube that's in most need of a haircut. Check this out. It's all terrible. It's all awful. That's why I'm wearing the hat. It's the worst. Anyway, today I have a
very interesting video. There's a bunch of compilation videos out there on the Interwebs talking about how pop songs, or at
least specific pop songs, sound exactly the same. And today I thought
that we would dive into that a little bit and see what's actually similar. And I find that often these compilations also have a bunch of duds that are not actually similar at all. So I'm gonna kind of import
it into the music program or play it on the keyboard or whatever. So yeah, let's get started. Pop songs that sound exactly the same. Let's go. ♪ She loves control ♪ ♪ She wants it her way ♪ ♪ And there's no way she'll ever

like on the same note. But that's the most basic
note is the root's of the key. But yeah, let's see if there's
anything else that's similar. Let's import it into the music program and match it up and see how it sounds. So now I'm gonna match these up perfectly and get them in the
same key and everything. And we're gonna see what are the chords, what are the melodies. What's different? I mean, you can kind of hear that if you listen to it over and over. But I wanna make it perfectly
clear by doing it this way. Okay, so here we have 'em and there's a couple things
that stand out immediately. I've synced these up to the
same tempo and everything. So these start at
totally different pieces. They start at totally
different times on the beat. So we got Ariana's song, starts quite a bit earlier in the bar. (rhythmical beat) ♪ She loves control ♪ ♪ She wants it her way ♪ Then you have Sia's version, and that starts like

could of happened here was that the songwriters
for the Camila Cabello song were like, oh, we like how
this sounds in this Sia song. We'll take that but we'll
switch it up a little bit. What usually happens
with these things though is like, oh maybe they
heard what key it was in. And subconsciously remembered
the other song by Sia. So therefore they just did
it without it even realizing that they were quotation marks stealing. It's not even close at the end. The lyrics are different,
