Hey guys! Uh... so we're going to America soon and for the first time ever our cats are going to get to stay here, in their home, rather than... like- We used to take them to Jun's parents' house and then Jun's mom would very generously take care of our cats for us, but they hated going there because it like wasn't their territory. So fortunately for them, they're finally gonna be able to stay here and we're having a friend come over and watch them for us. Of course, we're gonna pay her to stay here and take care of our cats and plants and stuff, but this time of year is kind of... rough, because all the cats are shedding because it's shedding season and Nagi eats all of the fur that he finds on the ground and then he throws it up. You guys suggested that the Roombas actually do work pretty well for cat fur. So we're gonna try this. We got the newest one that has the, like, docking station where it can empty itself, so you don't even have to clean it every day. Hopefully what happens is this cleans up all of the fur before Nagi can get to it aaaand Nagi won't throw up. Because what would suck is if Nagi still throws up and then this goes over it and just spreads the vomit all over and makes a huge mess. This is kind of a bad time to test it out But hopefully it works and then our friend won't have to clean up our cats' vomit while we're gone. J: Saves a lot of time and effort. (R: yeah) J: We have been... vacuuming a few times every single day and it's still not good enough. J: Yay! R: Ooh, what is it? J: We're so used to get these stuff in a build- build it ourselves, so it's nice that you don't have to build that today. R: Non-rechargeable batteries? Who uses these anymore? R: I think this is the "do not cross this line.." thing. Ooh this is a big boy [Laugh] It's weird. J: [Chuckle] Nagi! J: ooh! R: Nooo! Okay you need to download the app I don't have any room on my phone [Chuckle] J: I already did. R: Oh, cool. J: ...need to make an account for this, okay? R: Whatcha you doing lil' buddy? Oh, you sniffing stuff? Okay, so Jun is going to figure out how to set things up Maybe we can put it under the cat tower, There's a plug right next to it. Nagi, you're so cute~! It kinda fits... almost perfectly. J: Isn't that what you plan, like perfectly, when you ordered this cat tower right? R: Yes. J: Exactly as you planned.
R: I planned this. R: Exactly for a future Roomba that I didn't know we were gonna buy. J: Yeah, you made it perfectly too, good job Rachel! J: Are you okay?
R: Yeah. Oh no! Jun! I still have- I still have the pins in the curtains. So the curtains that we're using are from IKEA and they all come 250 centimeters long. And no one has windows that are 250 centimeters long so they all need to be- needed to be hemmed and actually the same friend who's gonna come here and stay at our place She had a sewing machine and she very very generously hemmed about half of our curtains one day and then left the sewing machine here Which I relearned how to use and then I hemmed the rest of our curtains. Don't look at my terrible hems. But it does the job. That's all I care about J: Zoom in!
R: But I wasn't able to, um, do the corners 'cause it was too thick. So I needed- I still need to like, hand sew all of the corners of all of our curtains and I just have not gotten there. And I totally forgot I had pins, so... [Chuckle] J: Good that we found a true [Inaudible] America. Going back to vacuum cleaner, Haku is already on it. R: oooh J: So I guess we don't need a cable. So I'll figure out how to use the app now. R: Okay, thanks, I'm gonna go take a shower. J: Okay. See you guys later in a minute. R: Look at you go! J: As soon as I put it here, it started- lit up in a circle. R: Our baby robot J: Ok, now it's charging.
R: Ganbatte [good job] little robot. J: The vacuum cleaner should be charged, by now. Still haven't figured out how to connect to this guy, I followed the instruction and then I was waiting for the Wi-Fi connection to, like, connect. But I was waiting for hours, and it- it said it's supposed to take only 15 minutes [inaudible] So I'll figure it out later, but for now let's turn this right on. R: But don't you need the... app to tell it where to go? Nagi!! Get down from there. Get down. Get down [happy little jingle from Roomba] R: It needs-- it needs the app to, like, map our apartment, doesn't it?
J: I'll figure that out later J: Oh! It didn't hit the leg [Roomba whirring] Ooh? Nagi? R: [Chuckles] [Roomba] Di-Ding ~ [???] [Nagi: what're u?] [Funny music] (Tough act to follow) ~You've gotta be a tough act to follow~ ~And you better believe it just take a bite and see~ ~that it's gonna be too much to swallow~ ~You better believe it~

[N: ???] [Roomba: di-ding~] [Roomba makes jingle] J: It says it needs some space in front of it, so I guess we're not really following the instruction R&J: [laughing] J: Oh, it bounces back looking for spot [inaudible] R: It's so dumb [laughing] Oh god Oh no, you can do it little guy! You can figure it out. It's alright. [Poki: Something louder than me is here! I am being challenged!] J: Oh! Haku's getting closer. Haku's more scared than Nagi. R: [laughing]

J: Oh! J: Well, since we have him, maybe we don't need that mat over there anymore. R: No, hang on, he's-- He's trying. J: It says it can go over the floor mat, so... R: He's doing it! Poki, where're you going? [laughing] J: Ooh! R: [laughing]
J: It can go that far? Really?? I don't know J: Is he stuck now? (R: No, he's not stuck.) J: Oh, yeah? (R: Yeah!) R: Look, he's figuring it out J: Oh God R: I think this is why you need the app because then it only has to do this once or twice or I don't know how many times and then it like remembers where all these things are R: I'm actually... surprised it can go on top of all this stuff (J: Good surprise.) J: So it says it... learns by itself. (R: Uh-huh.) So, I guess after he's done floor mapping, maybe he cleans more efficiently, maybe? R: Uh-huh. J: That's how Nagi backs up. J: Haku does that. J: So, we purposely didn't clean today and it feels pretty nice. R: Well, it has a hard time getting in these little grates
J: Oh! It's on the carpet now. [Roomba dings] J: Did you hear it beeps? (R: uh-huh) Now it's set J: He cleans at 8:00 every morning. (R: Okay.) Twice. J: And like he missed one earlier over there too, but the second time he'll get them maybe. R: Nagi's so brave! I'm so proud of him! [bouncy piano music] R: [laughing] [Nagi: What's this thing?] J: Poki and Haku aren't really interested, and Nagi's just kinda battling the brush J: So, he cleans the floor and he plays with Nagi, he's our great baby now. (R: [laughing]) Babysitter. R: Haku~! [H: WHAT THE F-] R: [laughing] [H: Poke it gently...] [H: Battle!] J: I feel like he's preventing him from going back to his station R: [stifled giggling] Haku, he's just trying to go home! R: [hysterical giggling] R: [laughing] He attacked Haku first. Haku's like, "YOU STARTED THIS." J: Yeah, Haku's that kind of boy. R: [laughing] J: Revenge-ous. [H: DEATH TO THE INVADER] J: You're an avenger. J: Okay, it says I need 1.2 meters space in front of it, which... we don't. [H: Why aren't you attacking now? What kind of retreat is this?] R: I think it's figuring it out anyway. [H: Where is it going?] R: chotto! chotto! [a little bit more] R: chotto chigau! [oh that's a bit wrong] J: Haku, he's almost there! R: Haku, he's just trying to go home! [laughing]
J: Haku, Stop! [H: are you dead? Why aren't you dead?]
J: The brush really attracts the cats. R: I do want to push it back farther, cuz I don't want the cats jumping on it... while it's docked. J: Okay! [Roomba whirrs as it unloads] R&J: [laughing]
[H: WTF IS THIS] J: So, that's the uh... function that we really wanted J: It sucks all the dust and everything. J: Everything worked out, cuz it scared all the cats out
R: [giggling] [Roomba does a happy jingle]
R: Good job! R: This is the floor map that it has figured out so far.
J: This is our couch. R: This is...
J: Kitchen counter J: That's office
R: Neat! J: That's my desk. (R: That's under the desk) Computer desk. (R: This is cool!) (J: ta-da!) R: It's still-- it's at 40% map-- mapping, done, now not including our hallway cuz we don't even have the door open to like anywhere else J: oooh R: Ooh, there's cat hair! (J: all over!) I don't think I can like zoom-- err, I don't think I can focus in there J: Look at. He's happy. R: [laughing] He's tired. R: He fought the beast! R: Oh, big strong boy! (J: For 20 minutes!) You had such a good day! J: Yeah! Otsukare! Good job! J: Apparently after this becomes full, like when this... red light lights up, that means it's time to change the whole bag Apparently they just replace the bag, but there's no way-- I'll just clean it I think when it becomes more full it's easier to... clean, maybe? J: Woah!
R: Yahhh J: Yep, so I guess by doing this, I don't have to replace this. R: Wuhh. I didn't even see that cat hair on the ground here Like, where was all this hiding? Where did it find this much cat hair!? J: You're pretty happy with this
R: This is why Nagi throws up everyday... in the spring. J: Anyway, now we have to vacuum less and then we have to clean our... Nagi and the other cats' vomit less R: Mm-hmm. R: I like it. (J: Yeah, me too.) Hopefully the cats don't break it R: And hopefully the cats don't throw up and then cause it to make a huge mess. That's like my ichiban fear. R: So overall, what would you say, Jun? J: It was very expensive. But, y'know, I think it was the right investment and it's going to save our time a lot and I HATE waking up and coming in here and cleaning up cat vomit and cat litter vacuum every single day, literally.
R: I'm still gonna have to detail vacuum cuz it can't get behind, like, this sort of thing Which is where lots of cat hair balls end up just accumulating, but that's fine. I don't have to vacuum everything. R: every day.
J: Yeah, I really, really hope that we won't have to clean Nagi's vomit anymore. R: Of course, we've had this all of half of a day, so our review may change over time! (J: right) R: We'll just have to see. J: For now, I'll give five out of five R: I'm not-- I have not used it enough to give it a rating R: We'll see. (J: We'll see.) We'll see. J: Oh, all our cats definitely give five out of five, especially Nagi. R: No, Haku would not. It attacked him. [laughing] He got angry. J: But, y'know, he has someone to interact with now.
R: Haku's so cute. R: Poki! You havin' fun up there, buddy? [Poki: yes.] [muffled giggling] R: All right, well, I'll see you guys next time! Bye!
