Snohomish County Deputy-ette gets taught a lesson

so this is the north side of the parking lot you can see there's a do not enter sign other than that and those security features and the Sheriff Deputy creeping up behind me [Music] it doesn't look like he's going very far let's see if he makes contact here in a minute oh now he's going hey everybody this is News Now Seattle I'm out here at the Snohomish County Sheriff's Department South precinct to do a First Amendment audit the address here is one five nine two eight Mill Creek Boulevard I was actually out here about eight months ago and we're just looking around parking lot and a sergeant came out scan I was trespassing I've gone back and I've done a little bit more research he was wrong Northside has one access that's uncontrolled and here in the south and pyramid I'll show you the south side has two accesses two access points which are both uncontrolled here we are at the south south east entrance to the parking lot wide open no security measure and down by the dumpsters is another access point for Southwest again no security measures wide open so let's head in and see if they respect my rights to film in public today here we go [Music] police vehicles only well not a police vehicle not a police vehicle not a police vehicle I don't know about that police vehicle only sign a deputy in the car interesting last time I was here this was an entry point now they have it blocked off no I'm just taking pictures correct so we have one vehicle with Oregon plates I doubt that's a mill creek or Snohomish County Sheriff Deputy and she's calling it name a badge under please I'm gonna have to ask you to go over here name and badge number please Grimes right chair 1675 1675 okay sir do you mind so is this organ vehicle authorized so I don't want to tell you more about the vehicles that are here I'm gonna tell you that all the vehicles here are permitted to be here so I'm gonna ask you to leave because you pass by a sign here that said all three of people's only do you enter my vehicle your person and it's it's meant to be the same and now I'm clarifying that for you well that's not what the sign says okay well I'm clarifying that for you now I have a legal right to be here ma'am you don't because this is for authorized vehicles only for what statute it does not per statue at the curb have a nice day could you please leave now ma'am I have a First Amendment right to be here I'm a journalist two cameras how many people do you see there is your answer so yourself correct I'm a journalist this is First Amendment protected activity so all police parking areas are you can't come back here and do this kind of thing why can't I because as I said there are signs on either end of these things that say do not enter and even though it doesn't say humans specifically may not enter here it's it's kind of implied so I'm now I'm saying I'm explaining that to you know the way the law works is it doesn't imply it states specifically so unless the sign states specifically or there's a specific statute which I've broken I will respectfully decline your honor thank you have a nice day so this is the vehicle Grimes was coming out of [Music] giving some shots of the building no authorized personnel only signs do get no gates the two officers that made contact went inside let's see if they're getting back up or an education here we have one of those pesky unmarked patrol units hopefully it's not used for patrol got the screen in there probably is and a nice shot of the flag there it's more building shots all right I've been standing out here about 15 minutes since the officers went inside they haven't returned so I'm gonna say that they decided not to come back out and play appears and gentlemen getting in his unmarked car this fast food soft drink he's parked in a fire lane isn't he yeah he was parked in the fire lane bad cop bad piggy so we're gonna wrap this one up first amendment audit of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Department South Precinct we're gonna call this one a fail go ahead leave your likes comments below if you disagree tell me what you think news now Seattle signing out
