Smooth Skin Makeup Tutorial + Summer Sales

[Music] hey everybody its Angie and welcome to hot and flashy in today's video I'm gonna do a chatty get ready with me put on makeup the makeup look that we're gonna do today was from my video on Friday that was my Nordstrom anniversary sale hall and Tryon video and the reason that I wanted to do that makeup today is because so many of you asked me if I had gotten cheek filler asked me what I had done to my skin because it looks so apparently flawless that day I mean who knew and the news is that I haven't gotten anything done I haven't gotten any filler I haven't had anything done to my face it's just my regular face but I use some makeup that I don't normally combine together and I guess it came out like some magical makeup day which you know I love that so I did try a new combo of primer and foundation that day and I think that that went a long way to helping my skin look a little bit smoother and I also head on a highlighter which you guys know I always tell you whenever you're asking me if I got cheek filler I'm like no sorry highlighter the magic of makeup so I haven't gotten filler in probably three and a half four years so any filler that I had ever gotten in my face is completely gone now so we're gonna go over the makeup i'm starting off bare face here i don't even have my sunscreen on yet so my current favorite is this elta MD UV elements SPF 44 and this is a tinted all mineral sunscreen I usually do about four pumps of this because you know it takes about a quarter teaspoon of sunscreen to do your face and your neck to get the coverage on the label so I want that full 44 but then the other thing I do because this tint tends to be a little bit too dark for me but I will usually add just a tiny drop of the polished choice super light SPF 30 this is another all mineral sunscreen can you see one's a little grayer than the other and so I just mix those together in the palm of my hand or on my fingertips actually not the palm of my hand oh shoot I wish I had pulled my hair back already mmm dang it oh well we're gonna have to make do cuz I can't pull my hair back with this going on so I basically take these two that I've smeared all over my hands I a smear smear on the cheek smear on the chin smear on the forehead one on the nose and then I put the rest on my neck the other places that you need to put it our eyelids eyebrows ears and everything else chest backs of hands I'm gonna go ahead and rub this in I don't want this video to go on forever so I'm gonna do that pull my hair back and then you also need to let the sunscreen setup for about 15 to 20 minutes if you can if you can't don't worry about it but ideally you should before you put on makeup so I will usually set a timer so I'm gonna go ahead and ask Alexa to set a timer for me I'm sure all your Alexa's are lighting up right now Alexa set a 15 minute timer all right you can go ahead and cancel yours now and I will be back in 15 minutes all right 15 minutes are up sunscreen is set hair is back let's get started so the magical primer foundation combo that made my skin look so great was Revlon Colorstay prep and protect primer base along with L'Oreal True Match so this is my holy grail drugstore foundation and I love this I wear it in n 3 and this primer I had bought a while ago and it was just sitting here on my desk and I hadn't really used it that much but I noticed in the ingredients on it that it has a mostly mineral sunscreen in it so it's an SPF of 34 it has 9 percent zinc oxide 3 point something percent titanium dioxide and it also has some hot - knocks aid in it I'm just gonna take about that much that I never know for sure if when I put it on top of my sunscreen if it makes my sunscreen move around and so I kind of like using a primer that has sunscreen in it a question that you guys ask me a lot is which order do I put those two on do I put on primer first and then sunscreen or do I put on sunscreen first and then primer and I think it should be sunscreen first because you're going to wait the 15 or 20 minutes if you can to have it set up and I think that that's important to have it stay in place and I feel like once it's set up it will stay in place even when I put makeup on top primer is part of your makeup routine so that would go on after sunscreen and your sons Green is like the most important step of your morning skincare routine I usually will prime my eyes next just to let that primer set up for a sec so the primer I had used that day was the fenty amplifying primer now the eyeshadow palette that I'm gonna use today is something that I got in the Nordstrom sale last week and in my Friday's video I had said I want to do a tutorial for you guys with this and put it up on Tuesday to let you know if it's a good pallet and if you should buy it in the sale well you know today's Tuesday but I didn't want to have three videos in a row beyond the Nordstrom sale because that's you know some people aren't that much in love with the Nordstrom sale and want to see something else so that's what I'm doing this whole face getting ready with me where we'll talk about the Nordstrom sale a little bit but we will also talk about Amazon Prime day and we will also talk about Target deal days a lot of people had asked me if I would do a prime day video and the problem with prime day is you don't know what is going to be on sale until prime day happens and so it's hard to get a video going on that plus some of the things are very time-sensitive of course the Amazon echo is one of the main things that Amazon will be featuring on Amazon Prime day I love mine I have like three of them I have one in my office here mainly to set timers and to play me music when I'm editing videos and stuff I have one in my kitchen I get my news briefing in the morning I play jeopardy on it cuz I'm kind of a trivia buff so anyway alright our primers feel like they're set and ready so with the foundation I'm going to use a damp Beauty Blender so I basically just put like a pump and maybe a half out on the back of my hand and then I just pick it up from there dotted around my face and use the old Beauty Blender to bounce it on and I have been going for really more lighter looking makeup very lightweight very not makeup for your looking makeup this summer cuz it is a hot summer I don't know how you guys how your summer is going but well here in Massachusetts it has been a hot one like it took forever to turn into summer it was really cool for a long time and then BAM it hit and it's been like high 80s low to mid 90s everyday and this makeup is so light weight and so nice looking like when you're outside in the bright Sun it doesn't look like makeup sitting on your skin and that's why this is one of my holy grails this foundation does not accentuate texture even in super bright sunshine it looks so natural and so beautiful so if you haven't tried it it's a really great foundation from the drugstore you know the wear isn't a hundred percent fabulous but I feel like this primer really helped with the wear on it a lot last Wednesday putting together that video for Thursday from the Nordstrom sale the makeup really held up well I thought it looked really good like in the dressing room the try ons and when I came home ran upstairs and started filming I didn't touch up my makeup the only thing I reapplied was my lip gloss so that was pretty awesome alright so let's go ahead and do that under-eye concealer I'm using a Lancome maquicomplet this is my favorite like moisturizing concealer and I feel like it doesn't settle into wrinkles too too badly but a application technique is very important I just paint that right at the inner corner so I just blend this in by gently pressing I always make sure that I press kind of in an outward motion not really tugging but I used to press inward and then I would get these little wrinkles in my concealer and I have a video on that showing my best concealer tips and tricks which I can link for you right up here and that will have the full concealer tips and tricks in there so before it does have a chance to settle in wrinkles I like to set it really quick I'm gonna use my it cosmetics bye bye porous powder this I think is the best powder for setting your under eyes and I have a new brush set that I'm going to use today I got this also in the Nordstrom sale I wanted to try it today so I could maybe recommend it in next Friday's video so these brushes are just beautiful and so soft so I was thinking this brush would be a perfect for the under eye setting powder so just pick up the tiniest bit tap it off and then just press it underneath my eyes okay so I grabbed these brushes because I thought that they look like really great shapes and the shape of the brush is everything for me each of these sets is like 30 to 35 dollars for four brushes so that's under dollars of brush so I'm gonna put on my setting powder on a few places I usually will put it on the Front's of my cheeks here because that's where my pores are pretty big and enlarged and I like to disguise those with setting powder and really I think this combination of primer and setting powder makes you look really good I never want to look like I always sweaty lips so I always powder there and I just powder right down here where I have like some wrinkles there and I leave my chin a little more glowy I don't like the center right between my eyes to be glowy and I leave the rest of my face a little bit glowy and I think that looks pretty and I also got an eye brush kit of those and here are the eye brushes so this is for eye brushes for $30 and these normally retail for how much are they $48 I'm gonna do the eye shadow first because in case there's any fallout with these eye shadows where I haven't used them before I want to know before I put on my highlighter and totally screw everything up down there this is in the Nordstrom sale it is this Mac palette it's called the warm palette eye and face and it's 12 eyes shadow Xand Too Faced things so this is the warmer one and this one actually has kind of a cooler side and a warmer side and so I like this one there's also a cooler one but that one looks really cool and I like the blush and the highlighter color in this as well I think I'm going to use the cooler side of the palette because you know I naturally gravitate towards the cooler side of things so first I'm going to use this guy this is a two one three brush and I'm going to dip it into this color up here in the upper left hand corner of the palette let's pick some of that up and put it on the movable lid I'm not going to do this as like a super up-close tutorial just because you know it's kind of a chatty video I thought we'd do more talking just picking this this up to start I'm feeling like there's not a lot of color pay out with this first color but you know how sometimes the first time you use eyeshadows sometimes they have like a little almost like a coating over the top and you kind of have to break through the coating to get to the eyeshadow oh yeah there's a little more color payout so maybe they had a little coating we're just going to put a little under my brow for like a matte brow I light not dying over that one but it seems fine next up is a 229 brush and I'm gonna go in with this shade here which is kind of a pale Mavi tone I'm gonna put that at the outer corner oh yeah that one has decent color payout no it's looking good that is a really pretty color but oh my gosh did these blend out beautifully oh they're just going on so nicely I'm so glad I went with the pinkier side to go with my kimono I did have this in my summer lookbook and it sold out in this color really quickly but I was looking on Amazon today and I notice that it's back in stock so I'll insert a little video of me in it here so you can see the full length but this is a beautiful kimono and the fabric is so nice it's really like lightweight and sheer so it doesn't make you hot so this brush is a 207 brush it's an angled brush I think it seems a little bit large and oversize for like doing in here I'm gonna give it a try with a slightly darker tone I'm gonna go in with this darker Brown in the palette we're just gonna put it right on here alright definitely want to switch that out to a smaller brush and yes we'll go with the famous mac 221 which is my favorite crease brush so I'm just gonna go back into that color with a smaller brush just so I can be sure to keep that color right where I want it I'm just gonna put it right here at the outer corner and bring it up a little bit into the crease whew but these colors are so pretty who's making a really really pretty eye look oh I wonder if I shall use that big one for blending instead of for the dark color hold on money when you wash it off for a sec I've never used an angled brush for blending before but who knows let's try it what kind of like the angle up there for blending alright so I would use that one for the blending brush instead of the application brush like in every brush set I get there's usually one that I keep just for blending and I never really put it in the no color I wanted to go in and use the shimmer color this guy here on the middle of my lid I usually just picked that up with my finger and I'm just gonna put it on from the middle to the inner corner oh that's so pretty if you like these definitely do have a little bit of a coating on them that you have to break through to get some color payout to start really not getting great color payout out of the shimmer color on this so I think I'm gonna use it wet I will usually I don't have any water in here so I'll just use a spritz of setting spray to face hangover RX three and one setting spray here and I always have this little bowl for mixing foundation so I'll just do a couple of spritzes of that in there this one is a Sigma E 56 lid shader so I'm just gonna dampen that pick up the shimmer color with the damp brush and see if we can get more of a shimmery payout yes that's what I'm looking for uh-huh yeah there it is okay love so far impressed with that palette I think that could be a good one let's go ahead and do the cheek highlighter the product I use for that on Friday was the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter every time I wear this or V where the heck is it the clinic chubby stick you guys asked me if I've had cheek filler and I demoed it for you in another video where I put it on one cheek and it was so crazy obvious that it was like oh my god no you didn't get cheek filler you put on highlighter so I'll do that for you again I'm just gonna take this and this has an oversized O foot so basically I just put it like in three dots like that and then I use my Beauty Blender to blend that out and you want to keep that high up on your cheekbones and then I always like some of it right in the front and that is what gives me that cheek filler effect see the difference cheek filler no cheek filler right an average cheek cheek that looks like it's been filled so you guys you know I'm not constantly at the plastic surgeon's office getting things I mainly get my botox topped off like every three to six months depending and I haven't gotten filler as I said before in years so anyway you know everything that I do I tend to make a video on so you will know about it especially something big like filler like that's gonna be new when I get it done again place so I'm thinking about it as in the lips friend of mine just had some done and it came out so beautiful and so subtle I just love how it looks on her and I like to do this underneath my blush because it's a cream product putting it on on top of a cream foundation or a liquid foundation then those two will blend nicely together what did I want to do next okay I'm gonna finish up the eye makeup because you know what I've been doing lately guys I've been forgetting to put on mascara a lot so I think cuz I do things out of order then sometimes I get going up I like finish my face and then my eyes I think are done but they're really not so for the eyeliner today I'm going to use my Marc Jacobs gel eyeliner this is in the color think so I'm gonna do the tight lining the inside or the bottom lash eyeliner this is the Sephora contour 12-hour waterproof liner in lavender fields and I'm just gonna put that just at the bottom waterline bottom lashes and then I'm gonna do upper lash liner with this but it's hard for me to do it on camera but I'm gonna give it a try I also had eyebrows on that day because my eyebrows are getting a little sparse er again so I had used my double down brow I'm just gonna use the fourth brush from the eye shadow brush kit and this is the to15 it's small angled brush so I love this double down brow because it gives you two colors so I like to use the lighter color here at the inner corner to bring my brows in a little bit because they tend to start growing a little bit far apart I'm just kind of like the feather the color in a little bit like that and then I go in with the darker color through the center and out to the tail so you guys enjoying the summer sales did you get what you wanted at the Nordstrom sale was everything sold out or are you spending your summer not shopping you're living normal life working or are you at the beach I know a lot of people at least around here with Cape Cod and everything they just go to the Cape for the summer this is the brow finish from Urban Decay and this is in the shade ozone and this is like the best brow hold them in place it's not pomade what the heck is it called words are escaping me lately I mean I'm back on my HRT but I don't think it's helping enough my brain is still in a little bit of a fog I'm still having some hot flashes I'm still not sleeping 100% great then take this big fluffy brush from this Luxy set this is the 502 large powder brush I like to use a big big brush for my bronzer and this is the Physicians Formula butter bronzer I'm just gonna do a little mild contouring up here I like this shade of butter bronzer it's called bronzer but it's not too dark and it's not too warm and orangie so I like that about it I'm so down here to disguise the old jowls a little bit on my note it's really hot in my office I'm sweating either that or I'm starting to have another hot flash oh my gosh I don't think the HRT is working Oh hot hot hot this is the 504 brush from the Lexie set I'm going to use the blush from in here yeah it's a really pretty matte blush I'm just gonna pop that on my cheeks right on top of the highlighter that's a pretty blush that's really nice I feel like I'm a sweaty glowing mess let me go cool off for a minute I'll be right back alright hey guys I'm back whoo feeling a little better someone had said to drink a nice cold glass of water which I did and it definitely cooled me down by - holy cow brain freeze there's like no good solution to this stuff and it just what have I said about it before it's not a menopause so and now that I'm looking like a sweaty mess again I am going to just apply a little bit more of my setting powder because I feel like my under eyes are too luminous and between my between my eyebrows is too luminous so back to the it cosmetics bye bye pours powder really press that in there mattify those areas down make pores disappear you can use a fair bit of it and it's not gonna make your makeup look heavy or cakey it is the nicest powder some of the other powders I really don't like as much and then look what a difference it made in with my under eyes like you could see every lump under there before and it looked like I had big eye bags and I looked really sweaty and sick and now that they're matte it just looks so so much better so I like selective mattifying and selective glowing so the claw on the cheeks definitely does it helps those cheeks pop but you don't want glow into your eyes because you don't want your eye bags to pop as well right then another product that I use from mattifying when I'm on the go is a powder sunscreen and I wanted to mention the super goop one right now because it's in the Nordstrom sale this week the Nordstrom sale ends on at the end of the day on August 4th and so if everything goes backups to its normal price so so one of these normally retails for $30 and in these Nordstrom sale you get one of these plus two refills so you get through a triple amount of this so it's like getting three for almost the price of one so that's a really good deal but I love these because this is an SPF 45 mineral powder and you can use it anytime anywhere you can put it in your part if you are gonna be out in the Sun and you don't want to get a sunburn in your part or you can use it to mattify your makeup on the go and that can also top up your sunscreen later than the day you can put it all over was that everything no I didn't do a lip color this is a new product from Maybelline it's their superstay ink crayon and I saw these at the store when I was down visiting my daughter in Maryland so I grabbed a couple of them I got this one which is in the color lead the way it's a little more of a nude and then I also got this pink e'er one which is stay exceptional nice messages so there are the colors on those two I'm gonna wear this guy today and I've already warned the pinky one I actually really like them both but it's like just an oversized crayon and the nice thing about these is I love the sharp tip and they actually have a little sharpener under here these go on really well like you can really control or you're putting it I really really like the colors on these and they're not drying and they're not matte either so they don't make your lips look really dry and cracked and older I love this and they smell really good so that's a really pretty color and then what I like topping it with to give kind of a little 3d lip effect is this Bobby Brown crushed liquid lip in lychee baby then I just take a little bit of this and I pop it right in the center rub my lips together a little bit and it just gives more of a three-dimensional a little bit more glossy look alright so that's the finished look I hope that if you're looking for a way to make your skin look smoother make your cheeks pop and look like you've had filler that you give the combination of these three things to try because these are kind of a magical combination that I just kind of you know
