hey how's it going guys it's Nate here and as 2019 winds into its final moments I figured we'd close this year out with one final video from what is by now far and away this channels Opus series and I mean how could we forget Skyrim really is a detailed game Bethesda held no punches when they set out to develop the world of the Elder Scrolls 5 as one riddled with Secrets Easter eggs and boundless environmental storytelling indeed Skyrim is peppered with so many little things even all these years later you can build an entire YouTube channel off of them anyway y'all know where I'm going with this sit back and relax as we take a look at yet another 10 tiny details you may have missed in the Elder Scrolls v skyrim part 57 starting off the quest a return to your roots is probably among the most infamous and Elder Scrolls history the mission gives the player the tedious objective of gathering 30 crimson nerve roots an ultra rare variation of the more well-known at Nirnroot plant across the mysterious region of black reach trouble is black reach is huge and there's only like a total of 40 something crimson nerve roots in the entire game so you're basically ordered to go gather the majority of them it's a nightmare once you've obtained all the bloody plants you'll have to deliver them to a dunmer woman named Avril so Sarathi who runs a small farm in the rift notably rusa is seemingly the only person in the world who's figured out how to farm normal nerve roots and she'll tell you that she has a great interest in studying their crimson counterparts at least that's the to long didn't play version of this quest well funnily enough after delivering the 30 crimson nerve roots Theresa and completing the quest should the Dragonborn wait a few days and return to the farm you'll find that she's begun growing and farming crimson nerve roots herself alongside the common variation the plants will respawn every few days effectively granting the dovakin an infinite supply of this otherwise elusive alchemical and idiot offering a nice little extra reward alongside the gold were normally given for helping of rusa out next in our list speaking of crimson Nirnroot did you know that skyrim isn't actually the only Elder Scrolls game they appear in in the Elder Scrolls online within the mages guild hall in the Valen wood city of Marburg during the quest the staff of Magnus players get a chance to delve into that buildings vault where the guild stores all sorts of interesting trinkets and objects of magical significance and sure enough within they're growing in a pot is a crimson Nirnroot how this little guy was found by the Valen wood mages guild thousands of years prior to the events of skyrim is unclear at best it's long been suspected that the existence of these plants is the result of something Dwemer related and the Dwemer kept to themselves in Morrowind and Skyrim literally as far away as you could get from Valen wood so perhaps this little detail is cause for reconsideration of that theory whatever the case a very intriguing find indeed coming in at number 3 no off is the arrogant yet lovable tell Valley major introduced as one of our principal allies during the Dragonborn DLC quest line he plays a critical role both in our primary jockey for power against the forces of me rack and hermaeus mora as well as in his own series of side quests nel off has quite arguably more dialogue than any other character introduced with Dragonborn safer maybe me rack himself well did you know that nella is in fact voiced by dwight schultz a pretty major a-list actor who had lead roles in both the a-team as captain HM Murdock as well as leading roles in a whole host of Star Trek productions as lieutenant Reginald Barclay alongside such talent as Patrick Stewart who had himself go on to play Uriel Septim the seventh in oblivion for fourth spot the town of more Thal sits as the capital of the swampy isolated hold of he'll March it's probably among Skyrim's tiniest of settlements and when we arrived the village will be plagued by internal strife but that's neither here nor there did you know that more Falls name actually as an interesting tale behind it according to various in-game books and even a rather rare loading screen it's named after Mort ha a legendary Nord warrior who played a particularly important role in a human revolt against the ayleid Elves in Serie Dyl thousands of years ago for those of you who don't know sir Adele used to be a province dominated by a race of elves known as the aliens who enslaved the local human population but thanks to the efforts of a certain woman that now known as Saint Alicia and the smart hall guy the humans were able to revolt and defeat their alien overlords it said that he was the finest Archer to have ever lived and in the Elder Scrolls for oblivion we can even find a statue of the guy within the Imperial City so overall a very well known figure it's just a shame that such a legendary man would have their name wasted on such a depressing little town halfway through a number 5 when entering the border window with certain merchants across Skyrim they may say this oh so classic phrase some may call this junk me I call them treasures well it would appear that at least some of the developers behind ESO took notice and in the game they baked in a rather humorous nod / jab at this psychotic line of Skyrim dialogue as the Khajiit merchant Nagas do in the Valen wood city of Eldon root will typically say quote some call this junk this one this one also called this junk resell it at a steep discount sixth almond is a Nordic apprentice at the College of Winterhold notably aside from maybe at you he's the only other Nord student at the entire University funnily enough this little factoid can manifest itself in some unique dialogue on his part you see if the player is any non Nord race when you first meet on Monday he'll comment that he's excited to meet you though is also admittedly a tad disappointed that he's the only one of his people at the call new here to a I'd hope that wouldn't be the only Nord but I should have known better but if you two are also a Nord then he'll enthusiastically mention his excitement and the fact that he finally has a fellow son of Skyrim studying alongside him new here - eh it's good to see another Nord I feared I'd be the only one almost doesn't feel like Skyrim being so far away from the rest of the world here additionally his relationship status with the player will automatically increase from neutral to friendly though this doesn't actually result in any changes on gameplay beyond some numbers being moved around behind the scenes nonetheless if you're looking to get into this Nords good side well you know what to do pick nord when creating your character next the skeleton key is a legendary artifact of the Daedric god of stealth and the knight nocturnal it's basically a lockpick that can never be broken the driving board can obtain the object towards the conclusion of the Thieves Guild quest line though believe it or not you'll have to give it up in order to complete the guild story which is pretty lame alas a fun tidbit worth mentioning is that the skeleton key has very much appeared in every single major Elder Scrolls game to date from arena to Daggerfall to morrowind to oblivion to Skyrim and how could we forget the Elder Scrolls online - the only exceptions being the various Elder Scrolls spin-off titles such as battlespire and red guard ESO being the earliest game in the timeline reveals that the first accounts of the skeleton key suggest it was in the possession of sophist silva a dunmer mage that was so powerful he was basically a god however soca eventually lost control of the item and it fell into the hands of the goddess of night at least those are again the sparknotes there's a lot more to it than just that but bear in mind when you obtain the key during the Thieves Guild quest line you're not taking any ordinary lockpick coming in at number eight we're heading back to more Thal but this time we're not trying to analyze its name instead we're taking a look at the interesting politics going on within the city it's ruled by your Alegre Ravin Crona an elderly almost somewhat psychic woman she served faithfully by her house carl Ghormeh but did you know that it seems Gorm and many of the citizens of Martha might not be as loyal to their yarol as one would expect some radiant dialogue we can hear between various characters including the house Karl Gorham himself suggests that citizens are planning a sort of coup to overthrow a grid Oh Gorm buy your drink not right now anything new still the same I tell you something's got to be done when the time is right friend when we're sure the longer we wait the worse it gets let's talk about it some other time it seems many folks are feeling a bit uncomfortable with the ural strange abilities furthermore if this dialogue isn't enough ghorm himself even offers the player a side quest to deliver a letter to the captain of the guard at solitude Aldous now ghorm clearly states that you are not to open up the letter but if you do you'll find that it reads as follows quote Aldous you know what we've spoken of in the past it is time change is needed something must be done I await your response signed gorm he's asking the commander of solitudes guard tell them overthrow his ural now for better or worse nothing ever actually comes of this the yarra will never be ousted by strange solitude guards or anything like that but it is interesting to know that some of her closest advisers are working against her heck a grid is again a bit of a psychic you'd think she'd be onto them by now getting close to the end here at number nine earlier in this video we talked about how knoweth was played by Dwight Schultz a rather famous actor well he's not the only major name to appear in Skyrim the voice of Asura Daedric goddess of dusk and dawn as well as Gorm life golden hilts one of the various warriors we can meet in sovngarde who helps us defeat Alduin is performed by Lynda Carter who played Wonder Woman on the DC comic book show of the same name from 1975 to 1979 if you're wondering how Bethesda got talent like that well she's actually married to Robert Altman the CEO of ZeniMax Media Bethesda Game Studios is parent company the more you know and finally last on our list the quest no one escapes Sydney mine is probably among the game's most intriguing side missions in it the player finds themselves imprisoned in marquart's famous prison Sydenham mine on false charges during your time down here you'll find that you're surrounded by members of the forsworn a shady organization of reach men who are dedicated to liberating the reach from imperial influence by any means necessary ultimately you'll get to decide between helping these forsworn escape and leaving the prison with them much to the frustration of marquart's ruling elite or you could kill the forsworn leader and escape by yourself this will result in marquart's rulers being pretty happy with you and offering the player a full pardon strangely though while many of marquart's most elite characters will have some dialogue concerning your choices on no one escapes sydney to mine the ural Egmond is a bit different if you decided to kill the leader of the forsworn mad enak then the next time you visit Egmond he will commend the player for your actions by killing Majdanek you freed maka from his hidden tyranny on behalf of the city I thank you but if you chose to side with the forsworn and escaped with them then he'll say absolutely nothing he won't even acknowledge your decision however if the player is progressed far enough with the Stormcloak side of Skyrim Civil War to the point where the Stormcloaks have taken control of the reach and installed their own ero who in this case will be thong for silver blood then he'll have unique dialogue for both of your choices take a listen damn those forsworn think they can kill people in my city I'll have Madden ox-head my brother tells me you've done us with service thank you and with that we are going to wrap up our 57th in Fullman of ten tiny details you may still have missed in the elderscrolls v Skyrim thanks for stopping by everybody sorry if I sounded a bit different today I'm currently nursing a terrible cold colds are always bad and for me I typically always get a cough a really sore throat and I lose my voice which is particularly problematic considering my line of work so hopefully it wasn't too noticeable anyway thanks again for watching and I hope to catch you all in my next video peace out everyone
