Skyrim: Yet Another 10 Tiny Details That You May Still Have Missed in The Elder Scrolls 5 (Part 39)

hey how's it going guys it's nae here and you know the drill Skyrim is a monumentally sized game vast in its scale and scope and abundant in things to do with people to meet in places to see the Elder Scrolls 5 certainly is a title that keeps us busy but as its seventh birthday has just passed perhaps you're beginning to wonder if there's much more left to do in this world I mean sure the game is big but after its age is surpassed to the average lifespan of a guinea pig maybe you're beginning to feel like you've learned all there is to learn about this universe well in today's video we're going to take another crack at proving there's still much to be discovered in scarves frozen world as it's peppered with a seemingly endless number of Easter eggs hidden secrets and references that just keep on surprising to sit back and relax as we take a look at yet another 10 tiny details you may still have missed in the Elder Scrolls v skyrim part 39 starting off among the many new curiosities players could find on the island of souls time was a new my novel resource called the stall Rim according to legends the ancient Nords of the region knew it as enchanted ice and would bury many of their fallen in tombs encased by the stuff for that reason you can mostly come across stall room embedded in sarcophaguses or sarcophagi I dunno where it can be mined should you have the appropriate pickaxe from there you can transform it into a plethora of powerful weapons and armor providing you've completed the necessary skull quest now what you may not have known is that stall Rim is actually a combination of two Icelandic words that when translated into English say steel frost perhaps the skull of soul Stein may have been taking some foreign language courses that they haven't been talking much about at least not in English next on our list this one's a little long but trust me it's worth it Azad Aloha bean is a Red Guard farmer living at his home with a small family in Dragons bridge he's a relatively insignificant character not involved in any quests and uh nacelle but if you speak to him the reveal is rather unique backstory apparently he grew up as an orphan on the streets of Markarth life was harsh but eventually he was saved by an elderly nordic priest named low growl who provided him a home and later even means to escape the city Azana soon found himself in dragons bridge where he met his wife and decided to settle down here the rest of course is history well it appears that low-growth the priest that rescued his Anna may in fact have met a very horrifying fate or be about to meet one you see the date request house of horrors begins when you are accosting by a vigil and instead are on the streets of Markarth he asks you to inspect a home that he believes is being haunted by a Daedra alongside him as you both enter things immediately go horribly wrong and it soon made clear that this home is under the control not of some minor Daedra but instead mehrunes dagon himself the Daedric god of destruction and arguably the most evil of them all long story short Dagon will have you murdered the vigil and extend our to death and proceed to demand that you capture and bring to his shrine a Nordic priest who has been mocking him that Nordic priest recently found himself captured by the forsworn so first you'll need to free him and then either force him to come to the shrine or trick him into doing so that Nordic priests name is low-growth you can find him radiantly spawned in at one of a number of forsworn camps once you bring him back to Dagon after briefly tormenting the poor guy the Daedric deity will kill him give you his mason thanks and the quest will be completed now what you may be thinking is Nate perhaps there's just two little girls running around Markarth surely this isn't the same guy that saved as odda all those years back well take a listen to a conversation you can overhear between the red guard and his wife did you read that letter from Markarth yet yes just this morning it was from low-growth he wrote to thank us for the food we sent and how is that old warrior doing these days not well he's convinced that his house is haunted so he's sleeping on the street oh dear I wish there was something we could do to help him as do I that man saved my life I hope that someone helps him as he once helped me now the game doesn't explicitly tell you this but the house in Markarth mehrunes dagon is possessing is actually called low groves housed in the Creation Kit so unless there's two low-growth cinmarc earth and Dagon haunting one of their home and tried to capture the other it seems as odd as savior is very much the same man we sacrificed to perhaps the cruelest God there is not exactly a fate fitting of such a noble man comin at number 3 during Perry i'ts days requests the only cure he sends the Dragonborn to the Dwarven ruin of both our dams where he requests you kill a cult of his followers led by one of his priests a boss were named or CH Endora apparently this group of worshipers and/or Chen d'Or in particular have forgotten their duty to the God and Perry Ike wants them to pay however as you make your way through this dungeon and kill all the periods followers you may overhear one worshipper say the following when speaking is someone who's asleep it's quite sad I know you can't hear me brother I don't like what we've become we've been here so long and what do we have to show for it or kender promised a place where we would be accepted and taken care of he promised perry i would be present at all times and give us comfort in our suffering forgive me for saying this brother but I have not felt Perry i'ts presence I want out I want to leave this place I long for the fresh air of the reach this place only makes us sicker but Who am I kidding I know you wouldn't let me leave brother you truly believe in or gender and his promises I know this place will eventually kill us I have come to accept that but I will always regret the day I introduced you to our gender how tragic clearly not everyone or at least not this unfortunate girl wants to be here nonetheless there God has made his judgment and it's your job to deliver for fourth spot I didn't learn this one until literally today but apparently if you kill a dragon nearby a settlement and harvest its soul there the nearby towns folk may form a crowd around you as they watch in amazement and utter some unique lines of dialogue by ismael you did it you killed a dragon it happened so fast one minute the dragon was there the next it was gone halfway through a number five we have the depressing tale of the abandoned prison I think this is one of the cooler demonstrations of Bethesda's ability to masterfully tell stories with their environments you can find this location northwest of for a mole in East March sitting on the side of a waterfall inside you'll up the Jockey with a number of ghosts who are very frustrated with your trespassing and you'll notice that all over the fortress are a number of pretty major leaks there's definitely some water damage in here within the prison it will also be dozens of skeletons clearly something pretty awful had to have gone down thankfully some notes that me found luck behind by former guards and some prisoners explain what happened here apparently the fort began flooding some time ago and the guards were ordered to evacuate and either leave the prisoners inside to drown or execute them however at the same time as the flooding started the inmates had a plan of their own with the guards evacuating in confusion they busted from their cells and attempted to overpower the Imperial forces so they could escape to alas admits this dramatic struggle the prison flooded and with everyone too busy fighting each other no one made it out since then the water levels seemed to have fallen and all that remains of the bones of those who once ran the facility and those who were subjugated by it now indistinguishable sixth cerana is a Nordic vampire and long lost daughter of Clan volca Harz patriarch Lord harken we meet her in dim hollow crypt during the dawn guard DLC quest awakening now the dawn guard expansion presents a couple of opportunities for the Dragonborn to become a vampire themselves after Sarang has been skewed however if you've already become a vampire prior to meeting cerana through a means offered in the vanilla game she'll offer some unique dialogue when you first encounter her take a listen you think I can't tell my own kind he smelled you almost before my eyes were open I was expecting someone from my family I don't recognize you are you one of my father's little acolytes he's a very powerful man or he was at one point I'm surprised another vampire hasn't heard of him next dragon Ward walls all have unique inscriptions written on them in dragon Tonga most of them are simple eulogies for people buried nearby however the world wall that teaches the dovakin the second word of the whirlwind sprint shout when translated from Doba Zul actually reads quote noble nord remember these words of the father oblivion hath no fury like a shield maiden scorned end quote this of course is a reference to the popular phrase hell hath no fury like a woman scorned which was coined by the 17th century English playwright William Congreve in his play the mourning bride now again do keep in mind this phrase will only appear on the world wall that grants access to the second word of the whirlwind sprint shout the first should be given to the player by the Greybeards during the game's main questline and for the most part I'd have to agree with this phrase I mean there is no enemy more frustrating than Lydia when she's blocking the wrong doorway I mean come on come in at number 8 this one's a classic but I've realised I've yet to cover it at least I hope not you know it's been 39 episodes I lost the original word doc so maybe I have but selfies for the shrine of parry I in the reach the dragon more can stumble upon a very interesting scene a skeleton lays in front of a dead saber cat in between two rocks with a large leveled battle axe jammed inside of it this of course is a nod to the opening of the film 300 which depicts a young Leonidas fighting a weird Longtooth wolf thing in the wilderness as a part of his training regiment ultimately the animal is killed when Leonidas is able to trick it into trapping itself in between two large stones it's a pretty brilliant idea though it would seem that for a friend here in Skyrim that trick didn't work out so well getting close to the end here at 9 the sidequest promises to keep centers around the Dragonborn being sent to steal a horse from the blackbriar family named frost well this quests name promises to keep is actually taken from a line of the Robert Frost poem stopping by the woods on a snowy evening furthermore you might have already noticed that the horse's name Frost is also taken from the author of that poem Robert Frost the poem itself is rather short but deals with a man riding his horse through the woods on a snowy evening it would have imagined no horses are stolen from powerful families but I can see why Bethesda decided to make the references they did and finally last on our list upon your first visit to honor all orphanage in Riften you'll witness all of the children gathered around Grell of the kind as she harshly lectures them she'll ultimately end her speech by saying what do you all say and the children will respond by saying we love you growl ah thank you for your kindness this is a nod to the 1976 play in musical annie' we're in the opening acts of the play were introduced to Miss Hannigan a harsh woman who runs an orphanage and forces her children to say we love you Miss Hannigan after addressing them fun fact all the way back in the seventh grade I actually played Franklin Delano Roosevelt in my middle school's production of Annie as you might be able to inference epic may 3 1 5 back in 7th grade not the most popular person but on that note we're going
