Skyrim mods list Guide: How to AUTO install 350+ Graphics Overhaul mods!

download and automatically install an entire working mod list the skyrim special edition and skyrim anniversary edition with over 350 mods all in the right load order and working together just in a few clicks without any of the hassle of understanding how to actually mod a game it's always been my dream to make modding accessible for everybody and the nexus modding community and their mod manager vortex has made that possible so we've created a high-end skyrim modulus collection that graphically overhauls the entire game and if you have a lower end pc don't worry because we have a micro mod list version as well now both of these model lists can be installed automatically using the vortex mod manager the beauty of mod collections is is that whenever we update it you can download the same update with a click of a button so this mod list is never going to be outdated or become broken in the future because we're always going to keep it up to date in the future we'll also be creating other add-on modeless collections that overhaul things like combat survival and other gameplay elements and those will be separate optional modless collection add-ons that will all be fully working with this core graphical mod list we basically want to make it as easy as possible for you guys so this mod list is simply the foundation of what is to come so let us know in the comments what your favorite mod is and why so in this beginner's modding guide we're going to be going through everything step by step including installing a fresh install of skyrim special edition and anniversary edition setting up vortex mod manager installing the skyrim script extender or skse installing our entire modulus collection which is honestly the easiest part and then installing an enb and our enb preset to enhance your graphics even further if you're wondering what pc you need to run this mod list you can check out our partners apex linked below the special edition version will run it at 1080p and the others will run it at 2k optimally after buying my wife's pc with apex i asked them to partner up with me so we could set up these custom pc builds for you guys as well these computers are also fully customizable so you can swap out any of the parts you like and change them yourself to whatever suits your needs check them out from the link below but starting out we will be deleting skyrim special edition and any mods that we had previously installed so we can begin completely from scratch as to not create any issues later so starting out we're going to open steam and we're going to find a skyrim special edition we're going to right click on this and then we're going to go to properties we're going to click on local files and then we're going to press browse this is going to open up the skyrim special edition files as you can see i've already got some stuff installed in this and we want to have a completely fresh installation and start from scratch when installing this mod list to avoid any issues to come up to the top here and click back on common and as you can see it shows all the games i have installed we want to click on skyrim special edition though and then we want to delete it and as you can see it's now being deleted and just so you know this doesn't delete your game saves your game save should be in this pc documents my games and then skyrim special edition and as you can see these are the save files now have you previously installed guyrum skse make sure you go ahead and delete skse from this as you can see all these skyrim special edition saves are in this folder just here then you're going to right click on the game and then you're going to go manage and uninstall it's good to do this with a completely fresh install of the game so i recommend just uninstalling it press yes i'd like to uninstall it and now we're just going to go ahead and install a fresh version of skyrim special edition obviously choose where you want to install it press next and it will start installing now after skyrim is reinstalled you can go ahead and go to properties and then you can go to local files again and browse and this is what a fresh install of skyrim looks like so feel free to compare and now what we're going to do before we do anything else is we're just going to start the game for the first time and this will just do a bunch of things in setting up the game initially downloading any of the creation club content you might have and so on so press ok because we're going to be using embs and some other mods that affect the lighting we're going to want to go to options and then we're going to make sure that the specs are correct so what i usually do is i just press ultra for the best quality setting i'm also going to increase the resolution and then i personally want to play in windows mode and borderless instead of full screen but that's again a preference make sure anti-aliasing is on taa best quality that basically smooths out all the edges so you don't get sort of pixelated edges in the game then we're going to click on advanced down here and there's some very important options that you need to deselect so screen space reflections unselect that screen space ambient oculation that precipitation oculation unselect that and we're going to leave these last three the way they are if you don't untick these you'll have some weird things happening when you're using a enb then we're going to go to view distance this is all just maxed out but again it's personal preference if you're using a lower end mod list you can reduce these things so you get better performance the same can be said for resolution you can just play the game at 1080p for example all of those things will increase performance and now we just want to play the game make sure you press play before you install any mods it's very important and you'll see it will now come up with thanks for buying skyrim anniversary edition if you do have it if you don't it doesn't affect our mod list but if you do this is the point where you want to press download and now it's going to log us into bethesda.net oh god we got to agree to better give todd howard our soul and then it's going to start downloading all the creation club mods and i recommend you install them all first before doing anything okay so now we've fully downloaded the creation club content and don't worry you can add it later if you still want to buy things now i usually recommend to most people that you should just start a new game and then you should do the tutorial in helgen after the dragon attack and you leave the cave and then just make a few saves after leaving that tutorial cave and then you're basically starting this mod list with a completely blank canvas alternatively you can just load your own character saves and just save the game with vanilla skyrim like so just make a couple of saves which you can load again later after you've fully modded it our next step is to install vortex which is a mod manager for skyrim modding which is from the official nexus modsi so if you click the link down below in the description you can find this and we're going to download the latest version of it which takes you to the vortex modding page and then you can scroll down and download the manual one-click installer now to download any mods for skyrim you will need an account with nexus mods so i'm going to log in then navigate to your download file and then you can double click vortex and it will start installing so now you've installed vortex and you've logged in vortex will usually automatically find the location that skyrim special edition is installed and it will say we've got zero active mods right now because we've not installed anything yet however before we install anything we want to go to the settings tab just over here and there's two tabs here the mods tab and the download tab now the download tab is whenever you download a mod with vortex it will store it in a file that you choose down here these are the downloaded mods and they're just stored in packed up files and then the mods tab is where those mods will actually be installed where they'll be sitting when you're playing the game of skyrim now i've selected two different file locations for downloaded mods and mods that are installed now i would recommend that you choose a location where you're going to store these mods i've selected my local disk f drive i've got a separate drive just for like storing mod and if i click on this you can see mod store downloads is a file i made and then i've got all the games so i'm basically telling vortex to put all of my downloaded mods in this file here but i'd recommend not saving them on your local disk where you've got windows installed because it will just take up loads of memory on your computer and then secondly we're going to go to mods tab just up here and this is where the mods are actually installed in skyrim so we're going to go ahead and open this file now i install my mods on a ssd which is the same ssd i have skyrim installed this isn't essential but if i go over here you can see vortex mods and then it's got all the games that i've been modding recently and if i click skyrim special edition you can see currently there's no mods because we don't have anything installed but this is where it would extract the mod files and basically install them into the game so this is where my mods are stored and that's how i have it set up storage wise you don't need to do the same but i'm just showing you that for the next step of this installation we're going to be downloading skyrim script extender many mods require the script extender to function like new animations new kill cams and so on so what you're going to do is find under download the current anniversary edition build and this might be a different version for you but they're going to carry on updating it and we're going to carry on updating this mod list so just download the most up-to-date version just here now it does say underneath current skyrim special edition build you will want the anniversary edition build even if you didn't buy skyrim anniversary edition the game version is still going to be 1.6 even if you didn't buy it and you don't have the creation club content installed it's still going to be out this version so make sure you download this file and not this one underneath and then as you can see it's going to be a packaged file here so you can use 7zip to open this or you can use winrar i personally use winrar if you don't have it installed you can just go ahead and download it from the link in the description below press download winrar just over here and then press download you don't need to buy it it's got like a infinite trial that never runs out and then press download and then it'll just start downloading over here and it'll say completed open file and then you can just go ahead and install it after you've downloaded and installed winrar you can right click on this file and then you can go to open with winrar and then this tab will come up and as you can see it says purchase winrar license just always press x on this you never need to actually buy it then what we're going to do is we're going to click on the skse 64 open that and now we can see the files inside here now you want to copy and paste all of these files however you don't need the dot txt files because they're just text so press control and then click on the txt files because we don't need them and then you're going to go copy and now we're going to go back to our skyrim file and if you don't know how to get that go back to steam go to skyrim special edition right click on it and then go to properties at the bottom click on that then go to local files just over here and then go to browse and that's going to open up the skyrim local files so then what we're going to do is we're going to drag these files from skse into the skyrim special edition folder and it's just going to go ahead and copy them all in there if it asks to overwrite anything say yes but now we have installed the skyrim script extender next we need to launch it from vortex so let's open up vortex and we're going to go to our dashboard and then we're going to go to add tool just over here and we're going to select skyrim script extender 64 like this and then this new little tab will come up with skyrim script extender click on the free little dots next to it and then say make primary so now whenever you launch skyrim in the future make sure that you run it using this little tab and press play and then it will start running and we have launched the skyrim script extender version now in order to check it's installed we're going to go and load a save that we made previously after you've loaded the save press start and then go along to system and as you can see on the bottom left hand corner it tells us the version of skyrim and then it says in brackets skse 64. so that means that skyrim script extender is now installed and we can carry on installing the rest of the mod list well done now since this mod list contains hundreds of mods it is essential that we also install the engine fixes for skyrim special edition click on the link below to take you to this page on the nexus then we're going to go ahead and scroll down and click on files just here then we're going to ignore the part one because we're going to install that automatically for you later and we're going to go to the part two file engine fixes skse 64 preloader and tbb lib and then click on manual download we're then going to right click on this file and open it with renra we're going to select these bottom three files d3dx9 42 tbb tbb malloc and then we're going to drag them into our skyrim roots folder which i showed you guys how to find earlier and we'll install the rest of it with the vortex mod manager automatically which i'll show you how to do now next we'll be installing the entire modless collection automatically you can find a link to this page below in the description and once here you'll find a link to either the high-end or low-end versions of the mod list depending on your system's specifications and on the right you'll also find our add-on mod lists which are optional extensions to our main mod lists which are optional gameplay changes to survival mode combat and work flawlessly with our main mod lists i'll be using the high end mod list scroll down and you'll find all 344 mods currently listed if you want to install everything manually or i recommend installing it automatically by clicking on this link which will take you to our mod list collection once here you can firstly make sure that you are adding the latest version on the top right in this drop down menu here and then once you've checked that just press add to vortex and then this tab will come up and you can even choose to create a new profile where our modulus is installed separately to your main profile but i just want this to be my main default mod list so i'm going to say default so now you'll see our mod list you can see it's got 283 mods but that might change because i'm still adjusting things before publishing and we will still be updating it in the future as well and then here it says install this collection to a profile you can actually make a new profile where you could have our mod list and then another profile with someone else's or your own mod list and you can add things onto it as well and you can also adjust it yourself once it's downloaded and then what we're going to do is we're going to say install now and then it takes us to the collections page which is a tab just down here and you can see it's going to start downloading everything now since i have nexus premium membership all the mods are downloaded automatically and i can just sit back and do nothing if you don't have a nexus premium account you'll instead get a pop-up for each mod that will then link you to the mod page where you can download each file individually using the vortex mod manager like this this obviously takes a lot longer to do but it is free my suggestion however would be to instead pay seven dollars to upgrade to premium for a month then install the entire mod list and just cancel your membership after you're done with it now i'm not sponsored by nexus so it makes absolutely no difference to me what you decide so at this point it's going to automatically install all of these mods and download them you can see along the bottom it says downloading progress currently zero percent and installing progress as well and the first mods you'll be downloading are absolutely massive in size so it will take a little while before this percentage begins to move up more rapidly but it will install everything and it will do all of the phone mod selections and everything for you you don't need to do anything you can literally just walk away from the computer and leave it on the top here also come up with deployment necessary and when you see that just go ahead and click deploy the other thing you'll notice are these red notification report errors you can completely ignore these for now until the mod list is completely installed and then we're going to go back and fix these with a quick program and i'll show you that in the next step after the mod list is installed so as you can see now the mod list is fully installed it's going to say collection installation complete and then you just press done and you can see there's tons of errors at the top here so now we're going to fix these and these are always going to come up but there's a specific program we need to use to fix these so firstly we need to launch skyrim again don't worry about the weird lighting we'll fix this with the enb later then we're just going to quit out and now to fix the red errors we'll use a program called nemesis go back to the vortex dashboard and then click on add tool just over here and then click on new this box will come up and then we'll need to press target and then find the nemesis tool which is located in our steam skyrim data folder you can just go ahead and copy the file path of your folder into the search bar if you don't know the location once in the skyrim folder click data and then go down until you find the nemesis engine folder inside you'll find the nemesis unlimited behavior engine dot exe click on it and press open and save that now in the dashboard the nemesis engine tool will have appeared so go ahead and press play press ok on the warning message and then press update engine and wait until the green bar loads after it's done just press launch nemesis behavior engine and then wait until it says behavior generation complete just at the bottom here and then you're done the next and final part of this tutorial shows you how to install an enb and the ultimate immersion enb preset which all of my videos use and it's tailored to all the weather variant firstly we need to download enb series linked once again in the description find the elder scrolls skyrim special edition on this page and then you need to click on the latest version currently it's 0.473 and then if we scroll to the bottom of the page you'll find the download link at the bottom the other thing we need to download is the ultimate immersion enb presets which you can also find linked in the description below this will take you to our website where you can download the enb preset from this page just here we have two versions one is a darker immersive version with realistic lighting so dungeons are scary and you can't see down the whole length of the corridor the other one is a brighter version which i use in my videos so you can actually see the gameplay and what's happening in the shadows it is personal preference however which one you use if you like all the hard work we've put into this mod you can also donate here as well all of those funds go back into running the website keeping the mod list up to date and also creating new ones that attach onto this one but next we will be installing the enb series for skyrim that we downloaded earlier to do this open the enb series folder with winrar then go to the wrapper version and now only select the following files while holding down control on your keyboard enb series d3d11 dot dll d3d compiler underscore 46 dot dll then we just copy these files across into our main skyrim file which i showed you how to access and find earlier and now we have installed the enb it was that easy so now we need to install our enb preset so we're going to open the latest ultimate immersion s-e-e-n-b that we downloaded earlier using winrar and then we're going to select all of the files inside it and copy or drag them into the skyrim folder make sure that you say yes to replacing everything now you've fully installed our mod list and the enb and preset as well so you can launch skyrim and enjoy it once you launch skyrim with the enb installed you'll see on the main title menu that it says enb series on the top left after you initially load it this is how you can confirm that the enb is indeed present however this is just the core graphical mod list we will also be creating other pre-done modless collections like this one that automatically install in the future for combat improvements general gameplay enhancements and improvements like additions to survival mode with revamped camping spells and so on this is only the beginning and all of those modelist collections will all work on top of this current mod list that you just installed so you can literally pick and choose what other additions you want in your game if you want to check them out right now they'll be on my website linked down below in the description and we're going to be continuously updating this mod list as well so you can subscribe for updates on those projects or you can just check out our website our aim is to have a whole new skyrim experience at the click of a button and make modding accessible to everyone also for some of you more advanced users you can install our mod list but also then you can change different faux mod options within the list so for example if i go on unp i can uninstall it like so and then i can go ahead and reinstall it and then i'll get the installation option choices again so you can make choices like not having them in vanilla underwear no judgments here battle brothers you can also change things from 4k to 2k depending on your pc specs which means it has less stress on performance now after you've installed the mod list you will see a few more errors at the top here missing masters is something you can ignore because some of the mods create their own log files that you don't need to worry about the engine fixes will also come up with an error because we manually installed part of
