all right well greetings neighbors from YouTube I'm actually gonna do the full mahindra review so last year I did the initial thoughts some kind of the reasons why I bought it but you can only get so much out of that without actually spending some time with this machine so I've had it just less than a year I've put just short of 140 hours on it I've done just about everything I intend to do with it regularly so I have a little bit of experience in planting I don't actually harvest because everything I do is deer plots it's a lot of planning ground leveling actually tree clearing tree moving a lot of wood applications because I have that massive wood boiler over there see if there you can see the big pile of wood so I use it for that mainly and then for snow removal because where I live you get a lot of snow so some things I just want to touch on again that I probably talked about in the other video but I just want to let you know so the big big selling point of um Hendra is really the price compared to any of the other manufacturers in this size range so the tractor with the loader weighs right around 9,000 pounds so if you get roughly the same size in weight of a John Deere you're talking well over 60 grand probably closer to 70 Kubota is less it's about 10 10 grand or so less in weight I they all try to vary in what size each one of them is is this really a 5 Series in John Deere I I don't know not really in weight in capacity it's it's somewhere between a 5 and a 6 so it's hard to tell it right where it measures up and each other one of the manufacturers kind of ranges but on prices where it smokes them back when I bought this was kind of before all the major steel tariffs hit so with the loader and everything done I was out the door for I think 45 and that comes with basically everything you see here - the grapple so really not that bad comparatively I would I would really challenge the thought that somebody else can do it for cheaper now with Mahindra you are not getting bells and whistles it isn't and earrin and for those of you who like all the bells and whistles this may not be the type of tractor for you it's simple simple heavy brutish is kind of how I would describe it get some other things out of the way I know that Mahindra in the past is kind of had maybe a black eye on YouTube specifically but some of their warranty and maintenance issue stuff and I've listened to a lot of those videos at all those videos raise legitimate complaints with something Mahindra has decided to do business wise or something they failed to honor on the warranty I can tell you I've had this thing in the shop three times for warranty stuff either stuff that manufacturer did or stuff that Mahindra failed to do they've never charged me a dollar they've picked it up for free brought it there and brought it back and fixed the issue - one thing I'm going to show you I'm still having issues with it isn't it isn't great and really I'm gonna find out how big of a problem that is this winter the capacity on the front end loader is one of the big things that sold me on this machine I was in a John Deere four series flows of 40 66 R and with that grapple that weighs about 900 pounds it was incredibly tippy I could feel all the time whenever you reach up to dump the whole back end would come with you and I had weights on the back end I did not have fluid in the tires was something I was considering but it really just did not have the lift I wanted it to have so that's one big reason I went to this thing and as well the tires these tires they're pretty impressive to me everyone I know has got egg tires I don't know anybody who went with this kind of industrial lug but I live the water tables really high where I'm at even right now you can see I'm picking up dirt it's not even wet I do really good with these things I've never run into an issue or I don't have enough pusher I don't have enough pull this thing would bulldoze a house if you wanted it to just with the tires you have on it there they're really good and they're well over sized for this piece of equipment I think and it works out really well no matter what you're doing if you're planting or tilling in a wet spot because I have done that as well and they work great the other thing is with them then on the snow again I haven't had an issue I can slip from time to time you'll see all four tires slip but generally if I get enough momentum going into it it isn't gonna be a problem problem is general when I stop I have a tough time getting them to bite again and go just because they don't eat into the ground very well the ground out here becomes like concrete when it's cold and thus the tires can't dig into the ground to get traction anymore they'll sit on top of the ice so that's kind of the big stuff there get to the back end so the back end is is very very simple there's really nothing to it that's unique to Mahindra I'd say everything back here is kind of the same on every one except Mahindra's maybe a little bit more simple but it's it's heavy back here I think the capacity on this thing is somewhere around 4000 pounds and forgive me on that you're gonna want to double check my numbers on that but it is a lot and I have a thousand pound tiller and it picks it up like it isn't there when I Drive with the tiller on I don't even know it's there it doesn't make a difference the best part about leaving the tiller on is it gives me a little bit of a ballast for the loader and the grapple which is really nice but here's the other thing with the weight of this machine how much of the weight is down low you can kind of get a good idea here where all the weight is sitting down here that's where all the big part of the steel is which helps keep your balance keeps balance really well and so I Drive all the time with this thousand pound grapple picking up firewood and whatnot and scrap steel and everything I've never had these back tires kick off the ground I actually been ripping at this stump for a while and I'll get underneath and I just can't totally rip it up but those back tires won't come off the ground it's it's really well built and well balanced that was one thing my John Deere was absolutely not well balanced I would pick it up all the time end up driving on kind of kiddie Wampus on two tires and if it was a bad deal I felt really unsafe doing it in this one I don't and these tires don't even have fluid in them so it if you put fluid in and I just you never have an issue I can't imagine a situation where you'd end up in trouble because of that that's kind of the big stuff to talk about first another thing kind of compared to the John Deere is the the gallons per minute flow from the hydraulic pump it only has one hydraulic pump for the steering column and the cylinders themselves the lift cylinders and you know they're it's powerful but it's not snappy you're gonna be slower or you're gonna have to run the engine at a higher higher rpm to get the snappiness you may like or be used to you know I've been with this thing for a while now and I barely remember how fast that John Deere was but I I remember noticing that immediately that it's just not as quick as the John Deere ones kind of one random note I don't want other machines they do this hydraulic setup quite a bit differently I would say from you know kind of the logging perspective whenever you're doing anything with it in the woods those hydraulic lines are there a problem it's hard to see from here I'm trying to get the angle right but you can see how they sit well over the tire but there's nothing really protecting them so if you hook a branch or something in there even a fence post I'm gonna rip a hydraulic line pretty easily so I don't have a bright idea yet on what to do honestly what would be nice is just a complete shield some of them they actually wrap this thing through and then they'll put it through the loader arm which great engineering not possible on this machine I believe one of the Mahindra's actually does that already just not this particular one and then you can see the hydraulic lines go down they're totally exposed with no guard until you really get underneath the tractor and then they have a guard I've never ripped one never damaged one but we both know that day is coming will happen eventually where I will rip one of those pretty good and that'll cause me some heartache I live in that I think that's kind of it what I want to talk about on the outside um this little tool carrier system is something I made so it doesn't come this way I just use heavy-duty zip ties and I put a bunch of tools on the front for all the random stuff I do it's pretty handy especially like this this axe for getting rid of stumps it's pretty dang handy yeah Mahindra doesn't doesn't come that way not hard to do for yourself and then here's the here's the pole for the engine just a simple pull that handle and she pops up and it works really good um one thing I've been noticing is it's been eating a little bit of coolant I haven't caught it leaking but and I don't see it coming out of the exhaust so I don't exactly know what's going on with it but you can see even now it's a little bit low and I had it at max just a couple days ago so that's something I'm probably gonna have to get checked out eventually maybe before the winter I'll have it back in the shop and have him take a look at it oh and that's it for the outside so the cab the cab is where you spend all your time probably one of the biggest factors when you're gonna buy a tractor it's kind of what what is your workspace and look like so chairs nice I got no issues with the chair it'll keep air for maybe three days I do I got a pump it back up every every time I started cuz I don't use it every single day the rest of the handles here are all right here they're real simple easily marked I would note that you know nothing is right where you can leave your arm on the rest here so sometimes when I'm doing tractor stuff I'll spend ten ten hours on the tractor it'd be nice if you know if your shift handle is actually further back here instead of up here just to make it easier when you're doing all these types of shifting maneuvers and I'm six foot tall so I got pretty long arms but when you're spending all day in this thing that can that can be a pain and kind of same thing with the loader handle you know to rest your arm now if they just moved it a couple inches it would have been easier just to put your arm here and just takes a little bit of Steel bending to do that but the engineers didn't decide that was worth it they liked it more up here I actually had not used the rear hydraulics at all besides obviously the three-point so I can't tell you how good or bad they are one thing I personally really like compared to the John Deere is actually the sound system that's in here so there's one speaker there's the other speaker and then you got to order a radio I just bought this thing off Amazon I just all I needed it to do is have bluetooth probably took me I'm no expert at this type of stuff and took me probably ten minutes to do it and it works like a charm has great audio the cab is extremely quiet much quieter than my John Deere was I think it has a lot to do with the engine itself there's an extra sound barrier up front between me and the engine it's also just a quieter engine it's it's bigger but it runs at a much lower rpm and you don't get quite the roar out of it so it makes it really nice for that and for those of you who've got kids or grandkids on this bike seat was stupid expensive I don't even remember how much I paid for I just remember I was shocked Mahindra wanted to catch our that much but I couldn't find another one that matched the bolt set like this and I have to custom make one and it's nice this one lays flat picks up comes with the seat belt it comes with everything I wanted it to come with so I liked it I paid too much money for it but I wouldn't change my mind on it because it's really important you know to have a safe place for a kid to sit in here and just to be I'll bring him with and teach him a tractor but my four-year-old knows how to drive a tractor better than most people out there and then the rest of it so the shuttle shift was a big thing I had to get used to now I'm very used to it I you know if I could rewrite everything would I make this tractor a hydrostatic I would but it doesn't stop me in any way or hit to me I just like the hydrostatic better it's it's easier it's quicker it's a little bit more responsive going back and forth and you know then your spouse can get in and drive and not feel a little bit overwhelmed that there's literally about 20 different switches pedals and levers in here and it can get really complicated to drive to me or somebody who's using it all the time it's not a big deal but when somebody else and you need you need some extra help on the property and you got to get them to get in the tractor and do some Fria it's kind of challenging how complicated this thing can be if you don't know what you're doing but the shell ship works great for those of you don't know if you're in medium range medium or lower and you're in 3rd or lower you don't need to use the clutch anymore you just pull it in neutral and the shuttle shift get it in gear wherever you want it over here and then flip the shuttle shift and then it just goes there's nothing to it it works great Mahindra's got a great system for that I've had no issues at all with that I have no complaints another thing I got no complaints about is the heating and air conditioning unit I've used it now in negative-20 and I've used it in both just short of a hundred degrees here doesn't get terribly warm in Minnesota but 100 degrees is still pretty smokin hot with a lot of humidity and the air conditioner does work very well very happy with that another thing I just kind of show you is the mirrors on this thing it comes factory with these sets of mirrors on them and they're really good I again I have no complaints I wish there was a way to kind of bolt them in better so once in a while when I go through the woods I'll snake a tree branch on one of them they're not like a big tree branch just a couple leaves and then I'll Bend him in and I gotta bend him back it doesn't do any damage to him but it's just kind of irritating because it actually traps the door shut when that happens so kind of a small deal I just wish they were built a little bit tougher there's some way to get him in stronger so they could maybe snap a little branch or something like that the lights the light sets here work great I use them a lot in the winter I don't use them much in the summer because I don't drive the tractor much after 10 o'clock that's the only time I'd meet him um so here's here's the exhaust system it's a fun story actually one time I had a tree I was pushing over a pop-up tree and actually snapped halfway up snap came back on the tractor landed on the tractor wasn't terribly big but just big enough where I couldn't kind of push it off with the loader I had to stop the tractor and get out so I was up there pushing on it trying to pick it over that exhaust and I felt that that heat shield before and it wasn't terrible I mean it was a little bit I don't know not quite as warm as a coffeepot so I thought well I can touch it for a second just lift it off actually what ended up happening is you can see it got a decent little mark on my hand I touched the top of that thing for no more than a quarter of a second it burned my hand like I've never had a burn before so just a quick safety note I got no complaints on how Mahendra did it I think the engineers were playing smart and thinking ahead when they did it it was just kind of a dumb silly thing that happened in half a second and yeah I learned my lesson I'll never do that again I just wanted to warn all you just because that heat shield isn't hot it doesn't mean that pipe isn't probably 500 degrees or something like that so now I'm gonna finally show you the last complaint I have with this thing and it's the starter the starter is not a great system I've actually been working with the tractor a little bit today you can sit the engine is already pretty warm so I don't know if it'll do it right now but a lot of times I'll turn the key and I'll get nothing it just won't start on the first switch so it's not like a car or a lawnmower even wear it at least ride and you'll hear it try to start it just won't engage the starter at all I've had them look at it probably three times and they say they've replaced the whole wiring harness to the starter that thought it was a bad connection but it's still doing it before it would just completely fail to start in the winter when it was about ten ten degrees to negative twenty somewhere in that range just once starting I don't even in four days and even now it still has issues so we're going to give it I it'll probably make me look bad and it'll go on the first try there you can hear it it didn't go still not going it's on the third time it goes and it works that's been the case this whole summer and that's why I haven't brought it back into the shop you got to give it a couple tries to get it to go and that goes so it's it's not something that would affect a purchasing decision for me right now wouldn't change my mind I think Mahindra just needs to to figure that out what's going on in there and either tell people hey this is how this starter interacts and this is how it works or say hey there's something wrong with it we're gonna fix it because it's it's just some wiring the starter has enough power once it gets the power with somewhere between the battery and the starter just doesn't get in the juice it needs I don't think a brand new virtually brand new diesel tractor should have this problem in the summer in the winter I get it everything's cold everything expands it makes it tougher you don't get as much juice out of the battery but it shouldn't be the case if I am still interested in solving that so it's really the two issues why still it's something to going on but the coolant it's eating coolant I can't figure out where even now you can see out an idol I mean it isn't blowing out smoke this thing does not smoke tractor it's full blast right there that's all the RPMs she has let me tell ya I know for sure that muffler is doing its chop because thing as hot as could be yeah so what I recommend am a hinder tractor hoy I would keep close tabs on the stuff it does if you're having issues with it because these things don't come out of the factory perfect you're gonna have some issues with it and you're gonna have to fix it but I'm telling you for the money you save and the amount of actual tractor you get with your money I think it's completely worth it I have no regrets with the mahindra one thing on this size of tractor it's it's hard to move this thing you need a big trailer in a big truck to do that I've kind of figured out my own solution but for you that might be a different type of problem just because of how big this tractor is but I don't I don't think that really would completely affect a purchasing decision I think it's just something you need to be aware of because if you need a machine this size to do work and push over trees rip out stumps all that good stuff you're gonna need one about this big and and I really like the weight of it the weight equals safety and I say that in a lot of videos and I probably sound like a broken record but I think that in a tractor that is something huge for you you don't realize how weight will keep you out of trouble because it will prevent you from tipping or give you more time to realize hey something's bad and now I need to stop what I'm doing and change it so I hope you found value in this review I do like my mahendra I've actually recommended Hendra hinder to other people and I think the other style of tractors are making are pretty awesome I really like the no de F regeneration I think that's a big selling point as well on Mahindra's and I've had no issue with it so if you've got something to say about it I'd like to hear about it I'd like to hear your thoughts what your experience has been and even with the other brands out there I don't have a coyote dealer near me or a Massey Ferguson dealer near me so he weren't really reasonable options it was ruler Kubota Andreea or John Deere and I don't got I don't got the money for the green paint anymore so let me know your thoughts thank you very much the women don't find the Handy they should at least find a handsome or one of those one of those way around Thanks
