My New Mahindra 5555 4x4 Tractor - Review

every one I decided to trade my tractor in this is the 4550 and I traded it in for a 55 55 which is a 55 horse and as a 5,500 series this here is a 4,500 series 50 horse great tractor I've had it for a year now and it never give me any trouble but I'm trading them because the one I'm getting it has a shuttle transmission it's a synchronized transmission I can actually shift gears as I'm driving it the problem I had with this one was well the thing I didn't like not a problem is when you're using a front-end loader and you're going from forward to reverse you gotta wait till you come to a complete stop sometimes the gears are still turning they're not synchronized so you'll start grinding gears so I can't deal with it you know when I want to go in Reverse I just want to put it in reverse and that's what the shuttle transmission does so right now I'm actually waiting for the guy he should be here pretty soon delivering my tractor my trailer can handle this but barely and when I'm getting here it's even heavier so he's gonna deliver it he's gonna deliver for free and there's a new tractor [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] alright guys I've had distractor now for about three or four months and I've really enjoyed it this is just what I wanted like I said it's got the shuttle transmission and I'll show you the lovers and how they work but it's it's awesome you just for those of you that don't know you just push it forward to go forward and any time even if you're rolling put it in reverse and they'll go and reverse like I said with the non synchronized manual transmission you can't do that because you'll grind gears so let me show you a little bit of the features up here and what things do alright let's go through some of the controls here in the levers and what they do this here is the shuttle shifter right here when I go forward shift it forward got neutral and reverse okay this here is your hand control for your throttle you know as you're cruising along you want to just keep it at a steady pace you can set it here this of course is for your front-end loader help down tilt and all that this here is your shifter you got one two three four here this here is your kind of in the shade here but this is your lover for your low and high gear and now I have it in low I'm sorry neutral it's low neutral and high gear this here is your clutch right here you have your brakes and this is your foot accelerator pedal right there okay and this here is the parking brake and how this works is you push on the brake and then you pull up on this and then you release the brake and this should stay that's your parking brake [Music] and now on this side here this is your lover for your PTO to engage or disengage your PTO for your implements so this here is engaged and this is disengaged okay it's just a clutch basically now this down here is the lever for your four-wheel-drive you pull this up to engage four-wheel drive and you push it back down to disengage four-wheel drive here you have your hazard is your check engine light key this is your horn and it only works when you get when it's on this is for your your lights and this here is for your lights the rear light actually it's on that's all and this here is your turn signal so that if you want to turn right you flick it to the right if you want to turn left you click it over to the left okay the cool thing also the seat is fully adjustable this will adjust it going forward or back this here adjusts the spring tension for the weight of however you how much you weight and I have it set at 200 pounds here that's how much I weigh and which is very very cool and it also has an adjustment for the back to lean back forward to lean back more or lean forward more the chair so that's really nice and the armrest of course go up and down and this here is your auxiliary valve lever this is for your implements that need hydraulics to work one more thing I forgot I almost forgot anyways this here is your differential lock you push this down with your foot and it will lock your both wheels so you'll have posi traction and in other words both wheels will turn instead of just one another little feature that this has is the other my other tractor headed to is this locks your implement let's say you're traveling a pretty far distance with your implements to your bush hog or something or some implement you have to go for far distance and this what this will do what you do is you raise your implement up as high as they'll go and then you unscrew this nut there's an up over here and you tighten this in all the way and what that does is locks your implement up high and you won't be able to move it anymore that way locks it in place and if you're like I said traveling a long distance it won't fall down on you if you were to hit the lever or something and of course it comes a cool little toolbox I keep extra strap in here gloves and I also keep a few wrenches in here what else to go back here okay one cool feature that I like about this one that I didn't have on my other tractor is the lower links here are telescoping so what that means if you push this down you can bring these up a little bit connect your your implement and then just reverse the tractor and it'll lock back into place and that's good for if you got your implement on the ground it's really heavy just get close to where it is move it around you know you get a lot out of play there to move it connect it once you're connected it'll slide right back into place and it ain't going nowhere another difference this has that my other one didn't have it's got adjustable lift rods here mine only had one adjustable lift rod and it's really simple you just pull this up you know screw it or unscrew it to you know lengthen or shorten the distance between your ill raise or lower your your lower link and then when you're done just goes back down so that's cool this is your top link here of course these are your stabilizers their adjustable we just put the pin in where you want it that's all these lower links don't go smashing into your tire and keep your implement from swinging side to side too much of course PTO now this does come with a drawbar I just took it off because sometimes it gets in the way of your implements and I really don't need it right now and of course this is your connection for your hydraulics for your implements if you need it all right another nice thing I like about this tractor is the exhaust is routed up here okay the reason why I like that is because my other tractor the 4,500 series the exhaust came out right here up against this okay and when you're not cruising even when you're cruising you would get fumigated alright the exhaust smell was just horrible and so it's nice not to breathe that in all day especially in your cutting grass on the front end here these here these levers here you pull these up and it's a quick release for whatever you whatever you want to put on here forks or the bucket you know whatever you have which is nice also here this is like a kickstand for your for your front end loader here you want to disconnect this whole assembly here you just raise it up pull this bar out okay and then you set it you set it under here and it just holds it up and then you pull this pin out and chorus hook disconnect your hydraulic lines which is very simple and this whole the whole unit just stays there it's nice it just disconnects and just stays where its word set all right guys now I'll show you how the shuttle transmission works for those who don't know to start your tractor you have to have your high-low lever in neutral will push the clutch in put it neutral and then we'll start it up raise your bucket a little bit like I said this is neutral forward neutral reverse so we're gonna put this in high gear shift lever within first and we'll put this in Reverse go go forward and go forward much much easier than the non synchronized Tran I'll show you you go forward going high gear this is a first second the third for all right about the shaking I'm pointing it back and first turn it around and we'll do it again this is first okay there right I'm gonna put it back in first gear I'll lower the bucket and shut it off alright now for the handbrake it and you just keep the brake pushed in and pull this lever up and let go of the brake and it's this stays up it's locked so like I said I've had this for a few months now about three or four months I've used it to cut the grass they use it on my property I have a video that I buried four hundred and proximately 440 feet of electrical wire from my house to my well house I did that with a sub soiler modified sub soiler I'll pop out the link to that and in in the description or at the end of the video I also did another video of how to clean the radiator I've heard some complaints of people saying it's too difficult to get to the radiator but actually is pretty simple and I have a video on that and like I said it's very simple to do I'll put that in the description or at the end of the video so anyways in conclusion I really really like this track there I have no complaints it's got a lot of power this is like I said the 5500 I'm sorry the 5500 series correct it's 55 horse now they make the 55 series 70 horse which is a lot more powerful than this and I think they even use a little bit bigger tires in this but I'm not 100% sure but for me this is more than enough power for what I do around here yeah I really like this tractor tons of power I have no complaints now I traded my old one and of course at the Big Tex Agri Plex if you go to Big Tex Agri Plex I have problems with it mahindra tractors are very solid tractors I don't care what you heard as far as their weight and they're just mass and structure of the of the tractor they're very heavy and heavy duty and the Mahindra tractor will out lift any tractor in its class that's what I like about Mahindra and the price is much better than the competition much better this one here retails for I think it was thirty one thousand six hundred Michael over there at the big text Agri Plex sir give me a good deal on my trade-in and he also threw in a pair of or for the forks for the front end here that's a nine hundred sixty dollar value right there so like I said nice tractor if you want to get one get one I hope it helped you make a decision whether to get one or not alright guys if you enjoy
