flavor family what is up it is art and Bobby back in our happy place Costco to talk all about in this section in the warehouse club something we really haven't talked about much right meat lamb pork chicken seafood there's a ton of options here with some killer prices but you have to know how to navigate these areas here it's gonna tell you what to buy what to avoid and why the man I'm really excited for this video before we dive into it you know what to do like subscribe share all those good things but most importantly there's a little itty bitty belly icon right below the video and Nabal all notifications because every week we have like three or four videos going live including the live streams on Friday night you do not want to miss out and they are a lot of fun now let's do some shopping all right I wasn't planning on starting the video with salmon but check this out I've never ever in my history of shopping here seeing a wild sockeye salmon for $6.99 normally it's about $9.99 or $12.99 and the crazy thing about this go look at the farm raised in our region it's actually more expensive look at this it's $9.99 so what does this mean though right wild versus farm rates we have a whole video that's wrapped about two weeks ago check it out but if you're gonna buy farm arrays which I'm totally fine with you got to look for Norwegian salmon seed product of Norway because Norway has one of the best farm raised practices in the world you'll learn more about it in that video but it's a right aquaculture it's the right feed they're not overcrowded in the pan they're not doing with antibiotics so this is actually good but you guys at this price look at this it's a product of the USA wild previously frozen salmon which means you can't freeze it again because the texture is gonna get kind of wonky but when I made that video with art the other week a lot of people said hey Bobby thanks for the info about farm raised but I'll stick with wild-caught I understand nutritional profile this is better and wild-caught ideally is better but sockeye salmon in general is very meaty and very lean not nearly as much fat as the farm raised but I do have a great recipe for keto salmon patties with a dairy-free tartar sauce I'll put that link down below but once again $6.99 unbelievable run Forrest run because if they have that price at your Costco it's great and also keep in mind some cost goes don't have farm-raised from Norway that have it from Chile Chile is one of the places that has bad farming practices so you don't want to buy that but that deal is amazing hey let's walk over to the chicken here now if you're gonna buy poultry and we're gonna talk about the rotisserie chicken as a follow up to our very first ever Costco video you want to live in this aisle the organic USDA chicken is it worth the price to get organic chicken the answer is heck yes hey what's up normal Oh Norville is an amazing you're a driver here right yes he saw the book on the shelf and he placed my face to it and he's like I'm gonna get your book yeah you're the man nope all thank you this one's signed right let's do a photo together we'll be back in a second how cool was Norville he's a driver he saw us he put our face to the look and he bought the book super cool everyone here at Costco is awesome dude this is like my second home I love it here so we're talking about chicken right you want to get the organic chicken because we have hold videos about that but they have a non-gmo organic feed and the price is unbelievable when I look at one of my favorite here chicken drumsticks look at this a dollar 79 for organic chicken drum ease this is normally at least $2.99 other places and this seal you guys this seal makes a big difference because number one and most important for me is they're not eating a GMO feed right all chickens have a feed strictly of grain usually GMO soy and corn from Monsanto once again but when it's organic and me if it can't be GMO plus these have a very good feed that's all vegetarian no animal by-product no poop no sewage no nothing so they're actually very high quality chickens you can't find pasture-raised anywhere at any grocery store this is your next best option the whole chickens here look at that a buck ninety-nine for a whole organic young chicken you could bake this whole butter basted spatchcock it that's fantastic now if you have an option down here of ground turkey versus organic ground turkey same principle look this is the butterball regular all-natural and I know it's too 59 a pound but I would trade up for sure to the organic ground turkey of $4.99 a pound I used to buy this at Trader Joe's but they put natural rosemary flavor and this price is unbelievable and see right here for says certified humane sometimes turkey farming can be a very dirty business this means the turkeys are treated right and it's very very important just double check if the chicken here had to certify to remain on here interesting I actually don't see it Wow so that's a little disappointing because I normally sometimes buy organic chicken at Whole Foods there's a great brand called Pine Manor and that's certified humane but this one doesn't have it so it's still the best you can do at Costco but I'd love to see that certified humane because it really does make a difference so that one doesn't have it but let's go talk about the one of the most popular items here ever it's the rotisserie chicken right and listen we talked about this in our first ever Costco video I know it's a loss leader I know they have their own plant now for chickens and everything this is not an organic bird so it has the GMO feed plus if we look at the ingredients here we see that there's some phosphates in there which is something you really don't want to see there's some modified food starch in here there's carrageenan in here so not ideal in terms of the seasoning but a lot of our history Birds even the organic ones at Whole Foods do tend to have a few fillers I don't like but it's not an organic chicken so it has an GMO feed and it's not certified humane so I know people love it because the price is great but I wouldn't eat that because of what I just said but people grab it no matter what it has a cult following I just want to let you know what the deals with that that's something I love with the passion is that lamb here you guys this is all Australian a hundred percent grass-fed lamb and this is something we make over on Flav City Instagram stories all the time this is lamb chop look at this price $13.99 a pound I've seen twice that price at some markets and even though it doesn't say it it is a hundred percent grass-fed rack of lamb it is a hundred percent lamb loin chops these are fantastic because you have a baby filet right here and the baby strip steak right there and the bone adds a ton of flavor and it's $6.99 a pound are you crazy and then a boneless leg of lamb here at $5.99 a pound not my favorite cut but good for stews and braising and stuff like that the thing is I went to Australia in the spring of this year with the Australian meat and livestock Association and I saw them packaging the lamb in the processing plant with the costco box and even though it doesn't say grass-fed it is a hundred percent grass-fed the price is amazing and here's the funny part this lamb is actually better than the lamb they have in Australia because it's a wet aged while it's travelling overseas it's like the unintended consequence of shipping they cryovac it in plastic just like you would a steak and the juices actually marinate and it makes it more tender you break down some of the enzymes and at wet ages you're getting a superior product it's actually cheaper than Australia and it's phenomenal if you're intimidated by cooking a rack cut them into individual ones cook them in a hot cast-iron pan I do it on Play City Instagram all the time it's fantastic and this is an underrated grass-fed deal of the century here alright time to talk about something really interesting that art noticed a few months back and it has to do with the steaks and the prime sticks so one cool thing about getting beef here at Costco is they have USDA prime beef what is prime beef mean it means that it has a ton more marbling marbling is fat fat is flavor but aren't notice something really interesting this is a New York strip stick and see this word right here blade tenderize this right here is a beef ribeye steak USDA prime and art noticed blade tenderize and this over here is the cap of the ribeye actually my favorite cut and that's actually what I thought when I know this is right and once again it's blade tenderizer so what does that mean it means if you look in that room over there they have a machine called the jacquard it's a bunch of metal needle is that tenderize meat well that's fine with a tough cut of meat like a flank steak or maybe even a skirt steak but a prime cut of New York strip steak or a ribeye it's crazy because they're already tender beautiful pieces of meat and the problem that aren't noticed when you play tenderize is the blade actually introduces bacteria down into the meat so if you notice on here it says for your safety USDA recommends grilling product to a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees well if you're buying a prime steak all right you want to cook it to 160 no no 160 is well-done so they're actually doing you a disservice because you have to cook it too well-done to possibly eliminate the bacteria risk when you don't even need to do that at all so it's a total mystery art and I don't know why they do it we come over here to here's the choice meats and I have no problem with them blade tenderizing right beefs to me cuz I'm gonna braise that - well done right not a problem I really have no problem with them holy cow oh they don't they don't believe tenderize that what else are they play tenderize here here I have no problem with them blade tenderizing a pot roast cuz they're gonna cook that but it's the craziest thing that art and I noticed almost as crazy is I wish I had the fridge space look at that a prime brisket for 349 a pound this would be amazing my next house when every room I'm gonna cook that another thing on beef I don't get here I don't get pre-seasoned or marinated skirt steak like this so this is a good deal at 8 to 99 but always be leery of preseason meats unless we look at the actual seasoning here we we check with the head they have molted extra made of GMO corn sodium phosphates phosphates are something you normally see in low quality lunch meat and too many phosphates in your body can lead to bad news and then look at this sugar other filler so not something I wouldn't do but if you come down here to ground beef then it gets interesting because if you have your choice between regular conventional ground beef like this which is a crazy cheap price here at 399 or the organic ground beef which one do you choose here you go Organic around me for a hundred percent of the time because these cattle actually have a non-gmo feed the thing is this is not grass-fed beef then you have grass-fed beef in the freezer section I'll show you in a minute a lot of people get confused about organic and non-gmo the real simple answer is if it's organic then by law it can't be GMO it's a hundred percent non GMO if something is non-gmo that does not make it organic so by being organic not only is it a non GMO feed the USDA says that these cows also have to be pasture raised grass-fed for at least four months of the year which is really good and more importantly the feed is non-gmo it's more expensive though right it's $4.99 a pound but that's only a dollar more per pound you guys it's not grass-fed which I'd much rather get but compare this to the regular I'd get the organic 100 percent of the time and then right down here is ground bison but you've got to be careful because normally ground bison is 100% grass-fed and I love it because the omega-3s are high the CLA is the conjugated linoleic acids are high but this one is actually green fed it says it on the website if you read so I would not get this because they're feeding in GMO grain soy and corn this is not the kind of a bison I would want to get but I want to show you those grasp and burger patties in the freezer aisle because that's the best deal ever all right where are those grasp and burger patties they used to be right here oh no they replaced them with ground sirloin patties you know what the grass-fed burger patties must have been a seasonal item which is horrible because they were the best price ever we did a video about them this summer it was 384 pound which is rock-bottom the lowest price I've ever seen now they replaced them with ground sirloin GMO beef patties and if you don't want sirloin look above there they have a ground chuck oh come on Cosby we don't need two different blends of regular corn fed GMO beef we need those grass-fed burger patties you know what as soon as I get to the front and check out I'm putting that suggestion in the box because that was the best deal ever so that's a bummer if you have it at your Costco scoop it I've never seen fresh not frozen grass-fed beef so if you have that your Costco let me know but don't be deceived if you come down here you might be like well no we this these are the grass-fed burger patties here and they're always here and my friends yes it does say grass-fed here but do not be fooled we know better right if it doesn't say a hundred percent grass-fed or grass-fed and grass finish that means it's finished on grain right they do that to get the cattle to slaughter quicker and it's cheaper it takes longer and more money to do a hundred percent grass-fed beef when you feed cattle grain at the end of their life to hurry or to hurry up to the slaughter process you actually reverse a lot of the grass spend benefits in the first place so these are not 100% grass-fed I would not get those a man I'm super disappointed about those burger patties let's go finish the video on a little more seafood well this is really interesting going back to the salmon they actually have some farm raised salmon from Chile here also so side-by-side look at this they have the Norwegian but just a good one and they have the Chilean so always get the Norway the Chile does not have the best aquaculture or farm raised salmon refers to this - is there really where seven nine Oh interesting see the better ones more expensive good catch I good catch art Wow that's way better just call me guys I called you i tilapia we don't get because farm racing practices are really really tough and the nutritional profile is not the best for that this is great look at this anytime you can see wild fish like perch I would get these all day id3 some they have some wild caught walleye fillet here these are great I the catfish here not a huge fan of catfish it is a product of the USA farm raised but not my favorite it's a bottom feeder wait tuna we talked about this ahi tuna like this is a very high mercury fish so I just wouldn't eat that from a health perspective these big u15 farm shrimp meaning there's 15 per pound our farm raised from Thailand Southeast Asia does not have good farming practices but the lobsters are wild-caught so I would get those all day every day from Canada very good deal and the king crab legs are always wild-caught you can get these not a problem and if you come here on the weekend for the seafood roadshow scallops are fine too but once again those big shrimp are Indonesian or Vietnamese farm-raised you don't want those and the king crab legs and the mussels are fantastic so I think that is pretty much it from here we covered all the sections here from seafood to beef to chicken two pork so we didn't talk about pork that's cuz I don't buy pork here because it's not non-gmo feed it's kind of like that factory farming Pig that is not very good it's not pasture raised it's not good for the environment and that is it you guys if you want more costco content you just let us know leave a comment down below us like subscribe share and head over to the book section pick up the keto meal prep being a look it's only a 15 select Costco so I'll put the list down below right now in the description box we need your help because if it does very well they'll place a huge nationwide order we got two more videos going below us right now but aren't and I will see you very soon until then we say unto you like we always do hashtag keep on cooking mad love and peace
