SHARK TANK'S KEVIN O'LEARY SHOWS ME HIS WATCHES!!

this is amazing we have a very special treat for you today firstly we're back at the 300 000 yes 300 000 a month mansion in beverly hills and they very very kindly lent us this mansion today to shoot and it was in the previous video so check that out but what's really exciting is this guy here mr wonderful please meet kevin o'leary great to be here so nice to be here um i'm a fan you know i'm a fan i'm a fan i just i watch her watch videos they just mesmerize me well thank you thank you and and then what british vibe you have going you know that's a calm interesting it's fake i'm really from alabama and it's just it just goes with the whole idea of luxury and watches and style and everything else and you're a flamboyant guy so it feels i'm not yeah yeah that's fun yeah it's great so kevin is a huge huge watch fanatic as probably most of you know uh i am two and today we are going to talk about crazy watches and we're going to get into details of certain pieces my taste is i think very different to kevin that's why this is going to be a great session it'll be exciting because we're going at it from different angles i have a lot of questions of your pieces i'm sure you'll have some of mine but you know watches are so different and there's such a wide population variety of opinions on them which i think is so important because to me the essence of a watch is its dial and you know i build dials i build portfolios of dials that's what i care about so everything's different if somebody shows me yet another watch that looks like one i have already i'm not as excited with the exception of rolex which everything looks the same everything does look the same and uh as far as investment goes i'm astonished what's happening with the rolex brand unbelievable i brought a few different ones to show you it's i think michael is safe to say that every collector has a rolex portfolio i don't you can even say you're a collector without a rolex player that's right it's one of the three horsemen i consider rolex patek philippe and eddie murphy the three okay three horsemen but then once you've you filled your desires with all those you have to start exploring beyond that's true and that's what we should spend some time on today i have some very very eclectic watches from micro brands and you know different brands that i've gone way past the three horsemen and i'm very proud of her i can't wait to see them yeah how should we start well let me start with one now i'll preface it i just finished shooting shark tank season 12 yesterday these are my shark tank watches for this season they've all starred in one episode or more but i'll start with um the one that's been in more episodes of shark tank than anything else because the wardrobe department loves this piece so much it's of course the white face steel daytona from rolex the more recent with the black you know bezel of course modified with a a red band now the history of the whole debate around red bands i want to get it out on the table now yeah why do you always have red bands so over a decade ago i shot one of the seasons of shark tank with a wonderful guy that was running the wardrobe department and he left the show the next year and the woman that took over came out on the first day of shooting and said hey where's the red band from last season and i said well that was just one of my many watches she said no no it had a red band on it i said so what she said you have to wear red band we have to have continuity i never thought of it that way and ever since then every watch i wear on shark tank has a red band and you can imagine the nightmare for the manufacturer oh i'm sure because most of them don't make red bands they don't but this company in switzerland called rubber b does the very best integrations with the case look at the perfect connection look at that i'm going to put my glasses on you can't even see of light at all look at how perfect that integration is oh it looks like factory yeah and so i work exclusively with rubber b for my red bands and if they don't have one sometimes they'll make one for me this is a gorgeous piece and it's also a very very high valued piece as far as investment goes yeah i think these are more than double what they're listed correct they're hard to get but i want to tell you about this particular piece michael why i made it first on our discussions when i leave here today i'm going to fedex this piece i'll say goodbye to it forever to phillips auction house it is going to be featured in the prince of monaco prince albert's charity auction in december for water called one drop and the guy that you know is very famous for cirque du soleil is his partner and they asked me to put this piece up for auction so i will never see this again but i'm proud to give it up um this is the shark tank daytona as it's known it this this watch has seen a lot of shark tank may i ask you a question so as far as the auction's concerned i'm sure the viewers would like to know are they able to bid on this yes yes where would they go they'd go to the phillips auction and just or search you know one drop or just search a shark tank watch or search anything they're going to find this watch we've been shoot this watch was heavily shot this season knowing it was going to be for the for the auction but also i had the wardrobe department talk about why they love this piece so much it pops on camera it you can see it popping right now it explodes on the camera this beautiful piece it's got the contrast and then the burst of the red rolex doesn't love the fact that i talk about red bands because they don't make one right right but you know have you okay well i have a good relationship with them i respect them but that watch um no kidding an hour from now or two hours from now it'll be in the air on a on a flight to new york well i'm glad i got to say it's a beautiful piece i love the daytona yeah now let counter with something what do you got in a rolex i'm going to like i have a couple of daytonas okay let's see okay let's see what we've got in here we have got are you peeking in here i'm peeking okay we have this is a daytona those are crazy this is a daytona i've got two daytona's bring out a daytona let's stay let's see okay let's do this one get out of the box now right away michael i'm going to ask you that can't be factory that's way too tricky 100 factory i don't believe it hundred percent factory every stone everything is untouched by anybody other than rolex so that's called the leopard it's a uh very hard watch to get actually and as i say it's 100 factory it's stunning isn't that crazy so these are orange sapphires yeah diamonds yeah the leopard dial with the diamond hour markers it's gorgeous isn't that wild yeah you know i got to tell you something whenever i see a rolex tricked out like that i never i always assume it's not factory but now they're doing such a spectacular job in letting people it really came from the rainbow everybody talks about the rainbow one of those in there well we'll look at that we'll have a look at that next that is stunning that is just stunning and it's unusual because you don't really think rolex would go that wild but um but i love the fact they have it's a real statement piece and again if you're talking dial there's nothing like this nothing like this nothing 100 factors 100 you heard it factory hundred percent factory and you're making challenge incredibly valuable yeah it's uh that's it you have the flavors for this i do [Laughter] beautiful piece i love thank you thank you all right okay your turn okay i'm gonna go um down the rabbit hole a bit let's go to a micro brand that many people won't have had ever heard of so let me tell you the story of this watch this is a ming uh there's only one of these in the world this is ming's own personal watch that i basically bought before it got to his wrist what happened here was i have a friend in the uae united arab emirates who is rumored to be the world's largest watch collector and i believe it i won't mention his name because we have an agreement about that but he knows more about watches than anybody i've ever met including microbrands one day i get a whatsapp message from him he says have you heard about me i said no he said i just acquired name you know sorry 11 29 and i said i don't know what that is and he sent me the image of this piece and i looked at and said how is that dial made i mean this dial is crazy look at the floating dial aspect of it it's amazing so naturally they were sold out because it was a micro brand i only made like a few hundred of them oh wow that is incredible isn't that beautiful ming is actually a photographer he's an artist and he designed the face and it was made by an affiliation in switzerland so i wrote them an email to his production manager in singapore and ming himself and i said look i'm kevin o'leary maybe you've heard of me i need a red band do you have one of these i'd love to wear it on shark tank he said kevin ming has just finished his own personal ming that's made out of a hardened carbon steel diamonds you know hardened carbon there's only one in the world would you like to buy it now whenever you get offered a one-of-a-kind watch you have to you have to buy it have to buy it i know it's a crazy price but it's he basically doubled the price and i bought it from him but when i showed up in wardrobe with this with the red band they said what the hell is that that's what i love about it anybody that goes nuts about a dial you know you've done well and that was this is the ming and i just you know if anybody hasn't heard about i mean go online and check it out i mean stunning the back is beautiful too but this thing was quite a stir and what i really loved about this watch i went over to robert hershevik who you know he and i compete with watches he has a lot of great pieces and there he does and i said robert you will never have this watch and he said sure i will i'll get a little bit of competition there right and and he said sure i'll get one i said no you won't there's only one in the world he said do you want to sell it i said no robert you will never have this watch it was a beautiful moment that's funny yeah it is great that's funny i love this piece beautiful piece now let's see something you got that's up there on the roster okay something really up there yeah let's step it up all right let's step it up let's step it up let's step it up can we uh just talk about this one for one second what are you wearing on your wrist this is a a paper box uh well i had to have something on my wrist and the box was full so this is um an ap offshore rose gold with a diamond baguette bezel factory no battery no no this is an aftermarket bezel there because i've never seen that they make it they only made 10 pieces and i wasn't lucky enough to get a factory one so i had that made it's stunning but it's not that's not factory bezel so there you have at least you're being honest about it but that is a gorgeous royal oak well thank you the way i mean the the dial is amazing and it works so beautifully with the pink band it's pretty right i was just about to say i do like the pink band with the shirt and also that earring isn't going unnoticed either sir so one thing i try to do is i try to watch my my watch with my clothes and my earrings i do that with my earring pink diamond beautiful beautiful daymond john would be jealous wears a stone like that too but you know what's interesting is you by doing those little you know the certain genise quoi of the pink on the pink on the pink is perfect it's fun right yeah absolutely and they say a real man can wear pink i totally agree with you oh one thing i want to just throw out there because some people might be asking both kevin and i are certified covert free so that's why we're able to do this i've been tested every 72 hours ever since i started shark tank right every 72 hours so we we we don't want anyone to think that we're violating any rules or anything like that and uh because i actually i feel so great to be able to sit here with you without a mask on i don't know i endorse masks i do too i do too uh and i tell everybody wear a mask protect others even if you don't believe in it yourself protect others so this is a crazy piece this is a jacob and co astronomia and this is the baguette piece i actually did a video on my channel on this watch about a year ago i guess it was um and it doesn't come out very often but i thought you were crazy enjoy seeing it now i've heard about jacob he is an insane guy clear clearly to make pieces like this is nuts he is particular i've heard the story he and fp jordan another we'll look at it afterwards in a minute are known in watch circles as crazy dudes crazy yeah absolutely crazy they they only live for the art yes and so particularly you know how many pieces he rejects yeah same with jordan i mean so i i do not have one of his i haven't gotten into it yet but i gotta tell you this is the kind of guy that i just i love this so so i'm gonna i'm gonna tell you something now i'm gonna take this out of your hands for one second not because i think you're going to drop it but uh i have a lot of jacob pieces yeah a lot of jacob pieces and because relationship with them i have a fantastic relationship with him i mean amazing relationship with him i actually told him that i was going to be doing a video with kevin mr wonderful and he said really really does he like jacobs so i said you know i don't know if he does or he doesn't i've never seen him wear one yeah so he said to me we got to fix that so i said well how do you want to fix it so you're kidding he sent me this to give to you your kids get a gift from jacob wow open it i'm kind of blown away this guy's a major dude major dude made you do wow wow wow that is just it's such magic opening a box you know oh that is just i just love this moment i think you'll enjoy this that just looks like there's a little bit of plastic that you that means you know it's new look at that oh that's just gorgeous whoa red band of course and red red button stunning stunning wow that's crazy how about that now that's a skeleton dial can you see through it i can that's the epix chrono and a sensational sensational piece i have one of those that is amazing so this guy is gifting me this one that's your watch that is not an inexpensive one i'm sure it isn't uh red band shark tank ready there you go there you go that is absolutely beautiful look at that how about that i'm just i have to call i'll give you his number yeah i mean that is just and the dial is amazing isn't that fabulous yeah even the sides if you look at the size it has the red in it to match yeah that is just that is absolutely spectacular so enjoy i'm just floored wow and i promise you kevin had no idea about this is that the truth i had no idea but i knew that you had pieces from him yeah i have a i have a bunch of pieces from him he is i think probably my favorite brand and it's because of your relationship yeah but we've become such good friends and he's a such a nice guy i admire him i mean who who can make that is so off the charts who can make this watch yeah i mean it's amazing so clearly a lot going on here yes let's talk a little bit about the movement itself what what is tell me what's going on inside this bird cage okay so the first thing i'm going to tell you is that i am not the guy that knows too much about movements i buy them because of their aesthetics but what i can tell you this is a triple axis tourbillon yeah the entire it's almost on bicycle spokes yes the entire movement rotates goes i believe it's once an hour it might be once every five minutes i'm not quite sure how how long it takes to go around to tell you the truth the globe is constantly rotating stunning it's counterweighted with a flawless d flawless diamond which is round starts off so that's been cut out to a sphere yes and then uh the entire back of the watch is all invisible he designs everything himself he comes up with a concept and then challenges his watchmakers to go and make it man that is just i just love the work on the stones also on the sides i mean it really it's it's a it's a very big piece yes very big piece and there's another piece you can wear every day but you're going to walk into a room with this and people are going to say what is that yes this is the ultimate dial yes yes like that is a crazy crazy not an inexpensive piece what is this that's a million dollars million million dollars but that makes sense if you look at all the stones in here yeah and the the ingenuity is it's just a miraculous miraculous piece yeah it doesn't surprise me you know to say it's a million but clearly look at the clasp yeah the back of the clasp over here it's got baguettes in it you know surprisingly not as heavy as you might think no you might have thought it's it's it's it's it's quite light it's nice that's beautiful how often do you wear this nearly never i mean it comes out it comes out when i shoot videos sometimes you should wear that out you really should i have three of these three different versions i have to see another one i have another one in the box well let me go let me yes your turn and now you're a member of the jacob club well i have to call jacob this is a this is a gorgeous sports piece isn't that beautiful yeah i mean that's just stunning this this button here turns the inner bezel yeah i think just in case you're not about this thing i need to nothing more fun than learning a new watch no question about it that's spectacular i'll put the box here for now okay let's go um let's go oh i want to tell you this story talking about jacob being so unique look at this and i'm going to show you this arrived in the hotel room where i was staying at the beginning of the shark tank shoot and it had a note with it and i'm going to get the note this was kind of rare to happen i opened it up i had no idea it was coming and it says um i've never heard of this company before vortic i've never heard of that either yeah and he sent me a return notice with it too that if i didn't like it i would send it back um and then i'll just read if you wouldn't mind please it closes a gift from our mutual friend anthony franco of mixed squares now that's one of my shark tank company companies and he knows i'm a watch fanatic my name is rt and i run vortic watch company in fort collins colorado we salvage and restore antique american pocket watches and turn them into one-of-a-kind wrist watches one-of-a-kind the movement dial and hands are inside this watch the movement so imagine from the 1800s the boston 362 were originally manufactured in 1923 in waltham massachusetts as a pocket watch we preserve that piece of america's history into this titanium wrist watch just for you anthony and i sincerely hope you like it and can use it to accommodate filming of season 12. so he's thinking ahead obviously to promote as much we've included a return label if this watch is not for you well honestly i took it downstairs that day to wardrobe artemis is her name and she looked at it and said what is that look at the size of it it's huge it's huge it's actually a pocket watch and i said i told her the story i let her read the card she said kevin this watch is spectacular and it was the first watch i wore in season yeah it's the original face from 1929. so you've just finished season 12 the filming of it yeah i just finished i mean this is amazing it's it's an incredible it's 100 years old yeah that and that's what's so beautiful about it and everywhere i've worn it and of course they put on this tan reddish band for it otherwise they know i couldn't wear it on tv and you know artemis said it's not quite red but i'm gonna let it go i said yeah it's red enough because it matches the um so the gold winder at the top it's just an extraordinary piece and it really really worked on television because it's so big so congratulations to this company i mean you've never heard of it either never heard of it i'll check it out though yeah for sure let's give it one more plug wartick this is my sticker for my computer i knew i was going to be you know talking to you about watching so i brought this with me right now why not it's a great story yeah great stuff all right what else you got let's see okay so uh how do i keep in theme with that i know exactly the size of that dial get get go dials heck go dial heavy check this out sorry before you do this just look over your shoulder at what i'm looking at right now oh look at that eating a carrot i was i was like did he escape or but he's got his water bottles there beverly hills rabbit yeah they don't want to go anywhere else why would they leave this actually that's it okay so this is a remain jerome steampunk and it's made with components from the titanic you've got to be kidding me yeah it's made with uh that is a beast it's a beast and it's also big i think it can compete with i think you're right with your vortex yeah they're almost the same yep 50 millimeter yeah that's amazing and also the same thickness crazy right oh very crazy so this is a limited piece so what element is titanic metal where is that i believe i believe this is from the hull this is a rusty looking thing yeah it is rusty yeah look if you look on the back it tells you uh made with components from the titanic it doesn't tell you which ones but i'm just assuming the gold didn't come from the titanic unless it was in a treasure chest it looks gnarly it looks gnarly so isn't that something that's a fun piece it is crazy so what do we have we have room roman numerals there we have roman numerals for the uh 12 and the six the propeller is the second hand if you see it's rotating yeah this particular one is not a tourbillon which is that's just the propeller beautiful piece it's a fun piece yeah i love it and again you know a dial that you're never going to see never seen yeah and i got a lot of comments when i wear this yeah i would and i would think it'd be a great piece to even go casual with yeah absolutely it's not that expensive um what is it it's not cheap i think it's like 33 000 and when i say not that expensive that's a lot of money but not compared to what we've been talking about yeah but it's a beautiful beautiful piece i like it a lot i i mean the dial is just off the charts and of course that's what i love about the watch it looks like nothing else right and it's not something you see every day all right let me dig a little deeper here you're good yeah okay let's go to a um a watch that um a little controversial for some collectors because it's not swiss which i don't have a problem with at all lange german now they're neighbors yeah they are they're neighbors but they're huge competitors you know gorgeous tank pieces yeah now this piece is a digital watch with an incredibly complex movement digital no digital in the sense that it's digits completely mechanical mechanical which is incredibly hard to do this is a manual wind watch and you know on the outer rim you can see it also has the day of the month so there's a lot going on in here power supply second hand etc but again a completely different look for a dial that's a knife work and it's truly amazing the difference a red strap or any colored strap does to a watch because that may be the only one in the world with the red strap i'm sure it is and that we went through a whole thing about getting the red strap for it and everything else and you know the headache the curse of the red strap is also what i love about it i like the whole challenge of getting the red strap there's probably two people in the world that would wear this watch with a red strap and sat next to each other right now gorgeous it is absolutely gorgeous i love it gorgeous i just i think the dial is just such a mind mark may i ask i'm sure the viewers would like to know how much is that that watch i think this piece is either um 70 or 80 000 something like that you know it's a lot of watch yeah it's a lot of watch the language is not an inexpensive uh mark all of their pieces all their their maison is um i had a chance to do a zoom with the ceo from switzerland the last month to see the new pieces coming they have some spectacular stuff going i mean just you know and my thing is always i say to them what show me the dials show me the dials then we'll talk about price that's a beautiful absolute beauty and i think again for a serious watch collector that is good value for money yeah it is you know very nice it's funny you know and i don't mean in any way i don't buy watches um obviously i care about money but this is a disease we have oh it's horrible it's a horrible it is it's an addiction yes it's an integration total addiction you know and when every time i bring another one back this is like a small subset of what i got in my wife's season to watch she goes out of her mind saying why do we need another one you can't explain this so now i'm just hiding them yeah you can't explain it like it's crazy it's crazy but you know when you write a check for you know 50 60 70 80 100 000 even more um you you that is a certain addiction so if you're going to get into this you better make sure that you're willing to because i never sell my wife sacrifice food yeah right children can't eat but we've got a new watch exactly no one's going to college but i got a new one there you go there you go and i can tell you what time it is yeah i can tell you what time you're not going to college what do you got all right before we do this can i make a suggestion please we're at 26 minutes yes so should we do a part one and part two because i see
