Scrap Metal run with my Wife! How to make money with scrap metal!

all right this Tuesday morning we're actually getting ready to do another run Luke's actually working today so he's cutting trees so I brought my wife and we're just gonna go drop my oldest son to school so I will be back shortly so this Tuesday morning and actually I went to Tim Hortons to get a coffee and I went through the drive-thru and my wife had to go for a pee again so we're basically stopping every 10 minutes for her to go to the bathroom because she takes I don't know small bladder I guess should be coming shortly there she is my brother is off today well he's not working with me he's actually oh she's running too she's actually my brother's cutting trees today so my wife is their day off so as she's decided to come with me so we got a couple of things in the back already that's aluminum vacuums chairs and stuff like that so we're actually a little late it's almost well it's 5:00 after 9:00 so we'll see what we can do we got stuck in traffic for a while for about half an hour so that kind of sucked so anyways I will see what we can get a couple of things here so Linda's gonna pick it up nice metal heater she's just wrong Oh a chair baby stroller and that's it Oh something else oh nice fan motor excellent so we'll keep going see if we can fill up that truck she's looking see if there's anything else that's it so we'll see if we can find anything else while driving hopefully we do we just noticed that the garbage truck is almost behind us so we have to pass them see if we can get rid of them so we can pick up some metal or else we're screwed but there's one thing I noticed too while talk to the truck drivers if there's a fridge dishwasher a lot of the big bulky white accessories they're not a lot to pick up so they leave on the side of road we just pick up what's going on what they leave and also we gave business card business cards to a lot of the truck drivers so when they find a friend inside a road and they can't pick it up they just call us or text us with the address which is pretty cool so we'll see here there's a little metal post just a buggy in the garbage you saw a little metal post who's gonna pick it up real quick it's not much but I mean every little bit helps it's probably aluminum so we'll shut up the camera a bit and now we'll see if we can find more stuff yeah we just said to my wife I forgot to press the record button but we just picked up another battery knocked my answer fast if we could take the battery said yes so loaded the battery up now there's an extra $10 so that's pretty quick easy money so well I think I just saw an air conditioning is it is it yes it is it's small ones but I mean it's an aluminum rod rats there's usually two in there that's loaded gunner there's a bus behind me school bus so that's it I'll stop here there's another oh no I thought that was a rack I'll try to get away from that school bus she's falling really close yeah no pressure at all it's like hurry up move anyways we'll see what else we'll find alright much but two little metal posts we actually stopped because my wife was only French French Canadian so when she talks what when she talks she only talks French she understands English but anyways yeah we found a carport and we asked the guy if we can take it there wasn't a tarp on it so we loaded everything in the truck it's getting pretty full right now I know that found a couple of things air conditioning aluminum ducts I'm not ducts rain all of that what is that that looks like a rim for a truck so we'll stop that stop there pick it up my wife wants to go it looks heavy let's see if she's strong enough oh he's a strong one I have no clue with that it's probably put on a Jeep or something so I'll keep going what time is it now it's 935 and warning so we'll keep doing a couple of runs see if we can fill up the truck and the trailer hopefully I mean my brother is not there today so I don't have to split half enough with them which is a good thing so no no not split have enough with her I'm taking everything we're married what hers is mine and we'll keep going see if we can find anything else good before the garbage truck catches up and that takes everything away from us all right talk to you guys later a little water machine here Linda's gonna go pick it up hopefully she's strong enough it's gonna cut the copper wire more money she likes to put in the truck I don't know why yours it's in the way need help watch your flex make some muscles hoof he's gonna stick it in the trailer it's probably easier for her that's a cool one though I should have kept it was a little fringe on there was a little friggin that one so yeah she's strong okay so we'll keep going this is half done by the garbage trucks so basically we're just racing with time here it's pretty hard because if you check some of the streets have garbage on the side other half the garbage trucks has already taken them away oh there's the garbage truck I knew it was around here somewhere there the garbage truck yeah there was a little metal post there Linda's gonna go out and pick it up oh and was on the microphone again just noticed it uh yeah I stopped for everything a broom a mop metal post little things here and there I mean the more you pick up the more your trip fills up goes by weight anyways right so there you go another one done so I'll bring you guys a little bit with us see if we can find anything else on the street there isn't much here see this site has been done all the garbage counter backwards this site hasn't so they do it backwards here they do one side and they decide to do the other side and they keep going so yeah I'll turn off the camera a bit change project see if I can find anything else because we did start this run a little late but we have to go bring her a kid to the day to school so yeah couch ugly couch so the garbage truck is parked it's probably on break or something but like I said we'll turn off the camera see if we can change project see if we can find more batteries we did skip on a washer/dryer we knocked and nobody was there it was right on the side of the house but we didn't want to know it's dealing if you don't ask permission so I don't want to get in trouble with the law I know that in my city scrappers have a really bad name most of them anyways cuz a lot of them steal there's a lot of copper theft which is really bad right now so I usually get stopped maybe once or twice a week by police by police car asked me what's in my truck and I tell them basically feel free to look I mean there's nothing stolen in there it's all crap I'm doing garbage runs I'm not doing anything illegal I don't go where there is bins that I'm not supposed to be in if it's locked up and it says no trespassing don't go that's the worst thing you can go I mean you can get in trouble really quick you know I am friends with a couple of other scrappers and they got in trouble big time with the law because they went somewhere that weren't supposed to be construction site I mean the gate was maybe open but it said no trespassing and he went in there anyways went to go look in the bins for metal got stopped by a police car and he basically had to put everything back plus he got charged for trespassing no well he didn't just get charged for B&E which is breaking entering but it did get charged for trespassing so that's just a small fine but still you know you're trying to make money so why bother doing something illegal you ask she says yes good for you if he says no it move ahead find somebody else and has a watch a drug on the side anyways so I'll let you guys go I'll see if I can find something else this project sucks so I stopped here I found a little chair it's like a patio chair but I also spotted a bed frame so I'll see if it's garbage or not and there's the bed frame and there's also the headrest for the bed so I'll go knock and see if we can take it be back later okay we're back yeah that lady ended up giving us the bed frame so Linda stopped by she found something else looks like a toaster it's not Marjorie's metal there is copper wiring so I get my that there we go it's done toaster is gone put the water in there so trying to make more money go at it dad what time is it now it's at 10 o'clock in the morning so we've been at it for maybe an hour and a half now trying to make a couple of dollars why not I mean she's off Luke's not here so I don't have to split half-and-half so maybe yeah I mean my wife can go out tonight so there's nothing else here this the same project we're in a couple of minutes ago where there's one road I didn't do so I decided to do with garbage hasn't passed here yet basically just drive around see if we can find anything interesting but so far just little things so it's not much but it's still anybody need paint plenty of paint but the scrappers don't take paint cans because of all the chemicals in there oh there's something here looks like a light fixture for a ceiling so Linda's gonna go cut that up that's like a floor lamp that set broken up and the wires all twisted up so she's having fun there we go one parts going was the why you're having a hard time with it she's know you're stepped on a bug oh lord save us all okay so we're still going not much here Oh metal poles metal poles are a little extra it's not much but I mean it adds up so let's turn off the camera a bit so I don't use all this juice off my little camera subbulu back in shortly good choking here yeah we just got back from doing the run stop that this garage I'm out of breath whoo there's just a convenience store there was a freezer right there we see a stain this antique this thing weighs at least 200 pounds we have to get a guy to help us inside were three people trying to load it in the trailer oh my god I'm exhausted so we did a decent load there's Linda so later on what we're gonna do homes not this cool box - I'll paint it put all the cables in there so I got an air conditioning unit here I found I'm gonna try to open it up if I can find my drill that's gonna help so we're gonna take the two rats out of there there's usually nice right in the back and one in the middle so that's fairly simple what we do is use a chain a Skilsaw put the blades backwards and it just slides right in and that's about it so we're gonna head off home see if we can what time is it right now 11:15 so the scrappers the scrapyard is actually closed so we're gonna have to start over god sorry for the breath I'm really out of breath right now whoo that's an antique anyways so we'll get off and we'll talk to you guys soon we're gonna go to scrap and when they're off lunch all right Joe that's Linda she's working hard get a side view here here so it's a decent load there's not a lot of big things except for the big freezer but that's about it we'll give you guys we'll give you guys our look once we start doing ad loading we're actually gonna go on the scale in a couple of minutes I just finished putting my medal in this grant about $10 a gas that's 20 liters of gas for $10 usually at our price right now at 1:32 that's about $30 I guess just pay 10 bucks it's actually filtered s so I don't mind putting in my truck never had any problems with it and using this for about a year now when they have it that's the tanks right there that's all filters so we still have her precious metal to bring all right by the tables right now basically how much we made was let's see seventy eight seventy five and twenty dollars that's for two batteries that's all we brought in for that one the reason why we only got that low well we still got what ninety some dollars I still have the air conditioning the aluminum another air conditioning a sink and also all my copper wires that I didn't bring the reason I didn't bring that is because I want to clean the two air conditioning units before I do anything that way I'll let that my wife walk down to get the money because of course she wants the money but yeah overall it's been a nice little morning I mean extra money in their pockets I made one hundred sixty eight dollars on one day because I worked on Sunday evening so when I will Monday morning when I cashed in it was 168 there 165 I did a little run yesterday I did about a hundred dollars with my brother it wasn't a long run it wasn't really busy there wasn't a lot of stuff on the roads and today I did about a hundred dollars again well 98 or 96 something I'm gonna have to check it pace paper my memory sucks so you figured with the two air units and all the aluminum I have to clean in there it's not too bad I still got a little bit of copper didn't bring other than that in that little basket there the black one that at the bottom it's all copper from TVs when we see a TV on the Senate row we usually break it take the copper the copper coil and also take the copper wire that's around the TV as well because there's always a copper wire around the tube itself so we're actually yeah I think we're gonna clean that today meet my wife she's off I'm off we only have to pick up the kids in about 4 hours so it gives us plenty of time to do that mmm so we'll get back to you so it's been a half-decent day I'll try to clean those air units I'm actually charging the battery right now so for my drill so once that that's done will I come back and bring the aluminum and more money see free money how many do we make know that a ninety five dollars plus a bit of change that we put away so almost hundred dollars for a couple of hours of scrapping with the wife I mean if you're doing this with a partner like I'm doing I do usually with my brother we split half and a half mine is the gas so we usually put 20 bucks of gas a day or $10 at the scrap yard which I just did which gave me 20 liters of gas for $10 so the price right now I put $20 of gas when was it I put $20 of gas yesterday it cost me you know it gave me how many I think it gave me 16 liters for 20 gas or 14 liters it's really not a lot so I mean I'd rather raise $10 for 20 instead of wasting $20 for 14 liters so we'll go back home see if the drills charged and we'll get those ac's apart show you how to take the Rezo I don't have my epic a pair of that cutters actually they're in my brother's car right now he's gone to work so I'm gonna have to do with what I have so we got a big-ass crowbar hammers so we'll see what we can do we'll be back in about well for you guys gonna be of up to one second alright talk to you later hey school copper one of the copper valves also have a nice surprise I don't have to explain this to anyone before here's one of them now since I don't have my beak cutters I'm stuck with these little things which is a real pain at a butt so let's see this is not thick copper so it's barely there's one [Applause] stick this here there's always a second one on the other side it is art Eastern building there is popper that goes all the way up make sure you get that extra money plus listen since I don't have my big hunter start using a stupid saw use these little guys again there we go this one goes all around here we go there's another one this one's nice too thick take all the crap out see what I usually do myself let's take a chainsaw table saw cut these two corners and see if I can pull these little guys open if not they give it as a copper bearing where I'm where I bring my metal so I'll turn the camera off and we'll come back alright so we're back do too and not having my saw because my brother has in his car it's gone to cut crease I'm having to do it the old-fashioned way cut all the little copper bits that was in the Aires da CS then rip off the steel plate that's here this here so basically what I have to do is cut all these little things all these little copper bits and then just rip it out well it's time-consuming I can't wait to get my saw back so yeah we got one done already which is decent nice little red so we'll go bring that as soon as we can and tell you how much it's worth get back alright we're back so three are done Lynda's is actually working on the last one so she has to cut the little pins one by one all the copper pin pins then I'm gonna have to hit it with hammer beat the crap out of it it was just a couple of things we took out so yeah they're really nice they're thick so we'll see how much they get for it got a lot of copper to piss-all copper from two EC's tell these little things here nice little thing let's watch Linda bang the crap out of it I don't know why she's banging when she didn't cut them all but the whole chest is straighten it out huh can't wait see that she's trying hurt she's trying I'll give her hand I'll be back okay so we got a couple of things done here all the TV coils we had that we ripped off broken TVs we got in here gave a bit of copper it's all it's not too bad fairly easy just bash room I made a little mess we'll clean it up later I like that we got the rats cleaned up all the rats are here and the copper from see these are the quiz we're talking about the TV quills see these this one's no good there's like a glue on it which the coppers stuff to it it's a real pain in the butt to remove this all the ones were yeah there's a couple of whom we had laying around that I cleaned but that's pretty much off on the air all the ACS I don't know how many pounds there is no later so that's pretty much it we're gonna head back to head the scrap yard see how we do so let's see we're at the kiosks again take her money out so basically what we made with the two ACS and a couple of things I had laying around the 2ac carcasses as you can see here gave me $14 I had 180 pounds worth which isn't too bad then there's the fun one I have the sighting that I had that I said I was gonna clean I just took out the nails gave me six dollars so it's not too bad the SNS three or four to be honest I have no clue what that is I don't remember what I drop that was call that penny wise I had nine nine pounds worth so to 495 then he turned around with the copper insulated that's all the cables I take off TVs vacuums I had eleven seventy eleven seventy is worth the copper rats that's the rest from the two ACS I had ten pounds worth it gave me twelve fifty then the copper that's from the TV and the copper I took out of the rats that gave me fifteen dollars so overall two rats is worth a lot of money I mean when you think about it had the two copper wires that I cut to start off with the to the four rats because there's two each for 1250 for everything then you have the copper ball can't really figure out $15 is little less than that but anyway is overall really good day that gave us that $50 plus the $14 and earlier today we had found two batteries it gave us $20 and also we had a thousand twenty pounds of scrap metal that gave us seventy eight seventy five so a really nice day for me and my wife she sees he she seems happy so anyways she's gonna go cash that out make a bit of money today right there plus 150 150 plus $10 is $160 again today it's going to be a really nice week under $60 for one day it's not too bad it's getting a little late it's four o'clock but I mean hey we we drove around had fun when to go eat and go around clean all that stuff up so overall a really good day I'm really happy so we'll talk to you guys later you
