[Music] today we're gonna cook up some country's sausage graves and it's real easy to do alright let's get this started here I've got about a quarter pound of smoked bacon in about three or four slices there and we're gonna cook this down because we want to get some of that nice smoky bacon flavor bottom dissipate now to the pan we're gonna add one pound of pork sausage this here is pulp pork sausage if you can't find some fresh bulk pork sausage here you can just use some sausage links and just take the meat out we're just gonna cook this down to it's nice and brown alright easy enough now we're gonna take that bacon which we chopped I'm gonna throw it right back into this boy now there are as many versions of this sausage gravy recipe as there are Mama's in the kitchen but a few of them are kick-ass good so you gotta check this one out all right the sausage and bacon are done pull it out of this paint and what we have left here is a little bit of that sausage and bacon fat we're gonna add about four tablespoons of sweet butter now in eight countries sausage gravy unless it has some butter in there so like I said about four tablespoons and into the pan we're gonna add about one chopped small onion [Music] now we like our country sausage gravy and chicken-fried steak some fresh milk and butter biscuit well bake even on a slice of toast oh goody all right now we don't want to overcook these onions we just want to soften them up and now I've got two tablespoons of fresh minced garlic again just want to melt them in that book want to be careful you know overcooking all right and it smells good now we're gonna make a roof and here I've got about four tablespoons of flour and we're gonna add a little bit of that flour into this mixture here and it's gonna be your thick this great just keep working it in there [Music] and all we want to do is slightly brown the flower all right easy enough [Music] now we're gonna add about two cups of milk or in this case I'm using some half-and-half and this is has some additional cream and the milk fat but you can use just regular milk and you're gonna use about two cups add about a half a cup at a time just keep working it in there this is gonna make a nice smooth gravy oh yeah you can see how nice thick and creamy it's good [Music] now here I've got a chicken bouillon cube and I've ground up a couple of them and you can use a good knife just grinding it up and we're gonna work it into this mixture right here and now we're gonna add about one teaspoon of sage and that's the ground sage there and also one teaspoon of thyme [Music] and here I've got a half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper now that's optional but you really want to add a little bit of heat to this mix it all in real good I [Music] told you it's going to kick ass and country gravy now a little bit of salt and pepper to taste now you have to remember that the chicken cube there has salt in it also has a little sugar and a few other spices and here I've got some salt now you can adjust those quantities get it the way you want [Music] now this country sausage gravy also has about a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce you don't want to overdo but one tablespoon looks real good just mix it in [Music] and here for some color I've got some fresh chopped parsley I've got some green onion mate that looks good enough to eat already done yet [Music] now we're going to take that cooked sausage and bacon and throw it right back into this pain lord have mercy yeah this is a country sausage gravy that you can actually see the sauce mix it in there real getting hungrier whoa [Music] now just before serving you want to add a little bit more milk or in this case I've got some more half-and-half just work it in there Jenny now if you have leftovers of this coming out of the fridge you just add a little more milk like this all right now of course you've got some chicken-fried steak here just covered all over with that country sausage great throw a little that green onion on top in fact as always we're gonna have to sample this right in front nothing right chicken-fried steak but then nothing like milk and butter biscuit country sausage gravy all over the top you're talking about breakfast there putting it up north Scalia we just have to look the other way eat some of this right now so the next time you're looking for a recipe for your barbecue for your kitchen check out the barbecue pit boys naka [Music] you [Music]
