Safe Life Defense FRAS VS Obscure Calibers

this is Kurtis his friend Sara and she's gonna be helping us out with body armor testing today he's gonna hurt you more than it is me make sure it's fitted properly we don't want her to just disassemble herself during the middle of the video a sized European model what's up everybody welcome back to the VSO gun channel this one's been a long time coming you guys have requested it several times bacon is being my baby model for us here today today we're testing the safe life frass this is their flexible rifle armor system you guys have seen this thing all over the internet especially on the facebook ads and things like that where it can stop all your common calibers like 50 action Express but it can also defeat rifle threats like your five five six is in your 7.62 by 39 a common rifle threats that you would see here in the United States of America what makes it a little bit different than say a traditional rifle plate is that because it is flexible it is lighter and wears a little bit easier than that of a standard set of plates and you get a lot more coverage as you guys can see here this is it has side panels here that basically wrap all the way around and because of that even though the best weighs like 16 pounds or something like that it distributes that weight around the circumference of the body so you don't even really feel like you're wearing it we did PT the other day because we're filming this right in the middle of the coronavirus crisis and we had to make something up and I wore it the whole time and I didn't even know that I was really wearing it we've seen this thing shot across the internet before but today we brought out some other calibers that may be a little bit more obscure and we just want to see what's going on with the frass so this is your standard Kevlar it says even says DuPont Kevlar on there and we're gonna use this as our control so we're gonna shoot everything that we shoot at the frass today we're going to send some into this just to give a relativistic comparison of what we're talking about as far as rifle rated soft armor of course it will do your five five sixes and your seven sixty by 39 we're gonna shoot both of those today using m855 we're gonna be doing that with our BSO 9019 are we live you rely live live again live of course live white russian 76039 [Music] there's got a little bit of wobble a lot of energy on that one I was feeling ready to go up there probably if you're ever wondering about the energy how's she looking she's gonna need a total total reconstruction yeah a little bit cracked a yeah we said that it would stop the rounds we didn't say that it would feel good that said if you guys have heard enough about the Fras and you're just looking to get one at this point there is a armor it is especially compared to like the steel stuff that's out there relatively expensive so just keep that in mind okay guys now we're going to move into obscure calibers this one is probably the most common obscure caliber that you encounter around the globe this is five four five and this is a seven and six projectiles so this is a steel cord projectile [Music] okay as you can see it didn't even move the soft armor it just burned right through it yeah right down there we can see our entry wound right here we've got a little bit of damage to Sara's boob there but other than that down here where the impact was we've got nothing this is an absolute killer of soft armor the five-seven we're gonna be using the CM mg mark 57 using an FN hollow-point load in change up to something a little harder we're gonna use the black dragon Fang loaded by Vanguard ammunition I saw at least the Vanguard goat just zip clear through that soft okay we'll go ahead and take a look at this thing yeah if you're wearing this and somebody came at you with the five-seven you're not gonna have a good day here and here and this one was the dragon Fang shut it up yeah we've got a little bit of damage to our dummy but I feel no deformation I feel a little bit of deformation on the dragon Fang it stopped them oh yeah it's definitely it's defeated everything we've thrown at it so you know what that means don't you we have to shoot the back we have to go to absurd sorry Sarah you don't want to watch this anyways for the absurdity little stick advantage machine gun Fras loudness keep going spinner did you make it I feel like you may have snuck one in on the armpit but let's go take a look I think I might've stopped them all there might have been one glancing deflection well looks like it stopped everything besides the two that I yeah slipped into her but what we're gonna do is our target kind of rotated on us we're gonna move it up against the play track and give it a nice solid string of another twenty eight yeah I think we defeated it yep we got a few to go through but that was a serious mag dump so what are we saying if you can take basically stands don't stand still for two magazines of five five six yeah I think some of it is you like some of these groups yeah like I'll type there he'll type the ballistic advantage machine gun shoots like that's four rounds right there yeah all in the same that's two rounds and then the only one that's like really bad is like this one and it completely missed a it's right on the perimeter and it completely missed the actual ceramic tile that even has the safe light logo this is the strike fit that's the strike face yeah so yeah it looks like I must have flipped it upside down which makes sense so we've got that kind of packaging layer you can see the 50 action Express does do an entire tile but basically the idea is it shatters the bullet and then the flexible farmer catches any fragments right if you look at it the seven and six went through this sheeting the Kevlar backing and then like 15 or 16 layers of this and stopped yeah it's definitely the 17:6 around and you can see the steel penetrator - that's it yeah cuz remember the black dragon was over here that's where we shot it I made it through the tile and ended up on the surface I bet you it's a piece what is this right here so you're by 39 it might be that's the whole thing those are the only ones that we have it's probably steel yep there it is yep that is our look at the safe life frass as you can see it's definitely rifle rated soft armor I think it's exceptionally comfortable it's definitely something that you guys should take a look at if you guys are in the market for armor especially a premium grade of armor and I think that today's absurd tests absolutely show that it is worth its salt so now guys ceramic tile armor definitely is going to cost a little bit more so again keep that in mind this is on the cutting edge of technology so I
