dispensationalism is important because we believe in dividing verses to the right group of people and the right time period if you don't do that then you can combine all the verses together and come up with the majority of wrong doctrine now one of the things that this wrong doctrine is taught is that christians have to observe the sabbath this has been pretty popular online as well surprisingly so a lot of people are trying to say that you have to observe saturday okay don't go to sunday you've got to go to saturday surprisingly there's still this teaching going around that if you go to church on sunday you're observing the mark of the beast surprisingly there's still stuff like that going around online so i know a lot of seventh-day adventists they retracted saying that because that was just too controversial but they used to say that that you're that all of you got six six sixes today okay so i'm very sorry you're all going to burn it down all right we're all due okay but anyways anyways this observing the sabbath thing see it's for a different group of people different time period but because they take something that's a different group people different time period and apply it to us that's why there's confusion okay so we believe that the sabbath it was something observed for the old testament jews and then it's going to have some sort of future application later on which i will explain but scripture with scripture is going to be very enlightening i'm telling you so they're going to say that the law of moses is not over you still got to observe some of the things the dietary rules of the law moses the sabbath etc but here's the thing we're not hyper dispensationalists in other words we abuse dispensationalism we overly divide we don't chop off the old testament we do believe in observing things in the old testament as long as so here's the key as long as there are some things that doesn't contradict the church age that doesn't contradict christian doctrine if the christian doctrine says we don't do this anymore then it's simple we don't do this anymore you want me to give you an easy example we have the sacrifice of jesus christ so that's why we don't do blood sacrifice of animals anymore all right not even jews today observe those things see everyone knows even a lost jew knows that the sacrifice of animals it's a different dispensation why is that common sense now it's common sense because when this says we do something differently then we know that we don't have to observe a particular thing in the old testament so why don't we observe the science because here it says we do something differently with the sabbath it's something that's old testament and it's done away the bible says it doesn't matter which day you worship so we're going to look at colossians chapter 2 colossians chapter 2. this is the main text that you want to keep in mind now i want you to bookmark this too because i'm going to show you something interesting with dispensationalism on this so keep your hand at colossians 2. but i'm going to show you right here very simple verse colossians 2 and we will read verse 16. let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or in respect of a what holy day or of the new moon or of the what sabbath day so notice right here the bible says no one should judge you about observing respecting a sabbath day it doesn't matter if you want to do saturday due saturday if you want to do sunday sunday monday tuesday wednesday thursday friday don't matter all right point is is that you don't have to have so if somebody judges you oh you're not observing the sabbath what did the bible say don't let anyone judge you on that that's what the bible says why because let's read verse 14 because that law of moses the sabbath came from the law of moses that law of moses was completed by the lord jesus christ because he fulfilled the law of moses we no longer need that sabbath from the law of moses now seventh-day adventists they would like to keep harping on that the law of moses is still available but look at verse 14 blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us so no salah moses which was contrary to us and took it out of the way nailing to his what cross that cross of jesus christ done away that handwriting of ordinances those rules the law of moses now seventh-day adventists they are one of the top three annoying people that you'll talk to about scripture okay seventh-day adventist jehovah witness and calvinist calvinist calvin is so calvinist oh man calvinist they bug the life out of me but the seventh-day adventists what they will try to say is that this handwriting of ordinances is not talking about the old testament law they're going to insist that it's talking about your sins because of verse 13. see 13 you being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh had be quickened together with them having forgiven you all trespasses so it's talking about your sins here but the easy answer against that is that verse 14 blotting out the handwriting of what ordinances okay that was against us which was contrary to us rules okay like law of moses rules of moses but let's look at ephesians 3 now okay ephesians 3 scripture with scripture will make everything come to light uh ephesians 2 verse 15. we're going to look at ephesians 2 excuse me chapter 2 and then verse 15 and then we also looked at colossians 2. so let's see remember ordinances right let's see what this ordinances is that they blot it out ephesians 2 verse 15 having abolished in his flesh the enmity even the what law of commandments contained in what oh now is that clear for to make him himself of twain one new man so making peace and that he might reconcile both unto god in one body in one body by the what oh that matches with colossians 2 the cross got rid of what the old testament law of moses why did he get rid of it because jesus fulfilled it that's why he said i come not to break the law but to fulfill it so he completed that law for us that's why we don't have to observe that law our salvation is found in the fulfillment righteousness of the lord jesus christ instead so thus we don't have to observe this conundrum so you'll notice right here paul says we don't have to observe it why because it's broken down it's actually completed by what jesus christ said jesus christ what he did on the cross eliminated the old testament law now is that clear if you're still a seventh-day adventist after this i don't know what i can say that can help you so you notice right here this is very honest now look back at colossians 2. so we do realize that this old testament law it's actually done for jews as well now we're going to look at ezekiel 20. if your hand is at colossians 2 mark it there mark there now go to ezekiel 20 ezekiel 20. you know who the sabbaths are for remember it's old testament so it was for who was god's chosen people during this time in his capital city uh where he gave his where he dealt with priests the sacrifice the salvation law of moses it was jews jews jews jews and jews so that's why the sabbath is going to be for jews and not for you like ezekiel chapter 20. no it's for me no it's for me no ezekiel thinks it's somebody else like ezekiel chapter 20. and we're going to look at verse 20. notice what the scriptures state right here it's not for the christians it's not for the church ezekiel 20 20. and hollow my what sabbaths and they shall be a what sign between who me and you to the jews that ye may know that i am the lord your god oh by the way let's also look at exodus chapter 20. remember the first time remember the sabbath day and keep it holy from the original ten commandments right let's look at exodus chapter 20. the first time when he mentioned about this in the ten commandments look at verse nine uh verse eight exodus 20 verse eight remember the sabbath day to keep it holy six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work but the seventh day is the sabbath of the lord thy god in it excuse me thou shall not do any work thou nor thy son nor thy daughter thy man servant nor thy maidservant nor thy cattle nor thy stranger that is within thy where gates their locality the jews in their community see that not only that uh look at verse 2 i am the lord thy god which have brought what the out of the land of egypt out of the house of bondage see that it was for jews not only that i mean the whole context is pretty obvious it was for the jews and not only that we're also going to look at the book of nehemiah the book of nehemiah i mean the scriptures are filled the sabbath is for jews look at the book of nehemiah there are people who want to keep insisting no it's for me no it's for me no it's for me no it's not for you okay look at the book of nehemiah now some people what they would like to try to do is that they know that there are verses that clearly say that the sabbath is for jews so the seventh-day adventist and other people what they're going to try to do is that they're going to try to find verses where there are non-jewish people non-jews where they actually have to observe the sabbath and by doing that they think that see the sabbath is not only observed for jews it is also observed by non-jews by gentiles as well but uh if your hand is at the book of nehemiah you're going to also turn to this is their verse they're going to use look in isaiah 56 isaiah 56 so this is their verse we're going to give them the benefit of the doubt there is a verse that it's not only for jews but this is where dispensationalism is going to come very importantly look at the book of isaiah chapter 56 verse 2 isaiah chapter 56 and we will read verse 2. now you're going to notice right here that it's not only for jews you're going to find out right here that the sabbath day is observed by gentile nations and that's supposedly the proof text that we who are not just jews we're going to have to observe the sabbath as well isaiah 56 verse 2 blessed is the man that doeth this and the son of man that layeth hold on it that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it and keep it his hand from doing any evil so a person that does the sabbath but look at this verse 3 neither let the son of the stranger that hath joined himself to the lord speaks saying the lord hath utterly separated me from his people neither let the eunuch say behold i am a dry tree for thus saith the lord unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbath and choose the sins that please me and take hold of my covenant even unto them will i give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters i will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off also the sons of the stranger that join themselves to the lord to serve him and to love the name of the lord to be his servants everyone that keep the sabbath from polluting it and take it hold of my covenant even then will i bring to my holy mountain and make them joyful in my house of prayer so notice in verse 3 you can't say i'm not part of the jews see let no man say i'm not part of god's chosen people the jews god says no even if you're not part of the jews verse 4 through 7 you can observe the sabbath too okay that seems to be a problem well actually it's not really scripture with scripture is going to show you something very enlightening which is easy do you know what the context is look at verse 8 the lord which gathereth the outcasts of israel saith yet will i gather others to him besides those that are gathered unto him notice it's talking about the restoration of the nation of israel a future time period of the restoration of the nation of israel let's keep reading right here we're going to look at uh chapters oh look at the previous chapter just the previous chapter chapter 56 right he was speaking to gentile nations not jews what's the time period it's a future time period restoration of israel but look at verse 12-13 did this happen yet verse 12-13 for ye shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace the mountains and the hill shall break forth before you into singing and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree and instead of the briar shall come up the myrtle tree and it shall be to the lord for a name for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off did this happen to the nation of israel yet no you see a lot of bloodshed war people uh killing each other okay this is not the myrtle tree the trees of the field clapping their hands with joy this is a future time period when israel will have a restored kingdom and nation wait a minute did did israel have that in the old testament no did that happen in our church age today no when's it going to happen though ah future remember the millennium is what god's future kingdom on the earth oh now things are making sense this is talking about in the future millennium because look at colossians i mean look at chapter 66 if you don't believe it look at chapter 66 chapter 66 look at verse 22. look at the context this is a future long long future time period it's not right now it's not back in the old testament this is long in the future when god rules over all the world look at isaiah 66 for as the new heavens and the new earth which i will make shall remain before me saith the lord so shall your seed and your name remain well that definitely didn't happen yet right look at verse 23 and it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another and from one what sabbath to another shall what all flesh see that all nations will come to worship before me see it's gonna happen at a future time period god's gonna have all the nations coming to observe the sabbath why because god's ruling on the earth and he's going to make the nations observe his sabbath he's going to reinstate restore the nation of israel that's why you have to believe whether you like it or not in the restoration of the nation of israel people like to say they're done they're over the christians replace them that's not true god he has to restore them as a matter of fact there are too many verses that show up in fact even paul told you back at colossians 2 go to colossians 2 colossians 2 colossians chapter 2. so for time's sake i'm going to have to close it here we're not going to look at nehemiah but you can look that up on the sabbath on nehemiah nehemiah said that the reason why god ordained the sabbath is because only for the nation of israel it's for the jews but let's look at colossians 2 let's close it here verse 16 we read that right let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or respect of a holy day or the new moon or of the sabbath days why why not the sabbath days look at verse 17 which are a shadow of what oh things to come okay boom future future so i told you oh now i see why isaiah talked about all the other nations observing the sabbath it's not for today it's for a future time period when israel is restored all right israel is not restored israel is one of the gates of hell i'm really sorry right now it's one of the gates they're one of the most lost people in the world okay one of the most liberal people in the world is really sad and unfortunate they need jesus christ for salvation to witness to them in the old testament they were a nation used by god but then what happened temporarily their god but in the future he gave a promise they're going to be restored see that that's why this makes sense and that's why this makes sense see dispensationalism dividing verses makes everything sense you gotta divide to the right group of people right time period and everything starts to click and come into life i mean keep reading verse 17 which are shadow of things to come but so contrasting see contrasting us we're not at that we're not at this observance of the sabbath for the future but the body is of what christ who's the body of christ us the church so we're contrasted from observing the sabbath which is at what which is for the nation of israel and then god has to reinstate when he fully reinstates it he's going to have all nations observing that so when you're anti-semitic you better be careful man you better be careful but there's a lot of evil with israel you don't think i don't know i told you that's why god's not using them at this time period at the future he's going to restore them why else do you think the antichrist is gonna come from this nation uh if they're not evil why do you think the antichrist is gonna rule in their temple if they're not evil right so the bible already told you in fact in the old testament god said the nation of israel was worse than all the other gentile nations he even said that but he said they were still his chosen people see that look god knows how to take care of his own people you don't need to tell him what to do if i were you i just be worried about myself okay i want to be this bunch and i want to be concerned with my practice and i'm not going to steal some jewish stuff and apply it to myself look i don't need that that's for the jews let them handle it i'm going to be observant of my own practice and just leave these people alone and let god handle them
