didn't give us a date to communion with him um that we that we he set aside for us to have a special times a communion with him no no extracurriculars from the world no extra distractions has it been a happy sabbath for you happy sabbath everyone hey man amen we're going to begin with prayer i mean we're going to dive right into our praise and worship um if you could buy your heads with me dear heavenly father we thank you so much for uh for life for health and for strength um for a roof over our heads a place that we can come together and worship in your name we ask that as we uh as we worship here tonight that you will come and be in the midst of us you said where two or three are gathered you'll be in the midst so god we invite your presence we ask that your angels will come down and sing with us if there's anything that prohibits our worship being heard by you we ask that you remove it um and we ask that your will be done here tonight in your name amen if you will open your hymnals and flip to him 92 the title of this hymn is this is my father's world and we're gonna invite you to stand with us if you would stand with us as we sing this is my father's world this is my father's world [Music] this is [Music] this is my father's hello is [Music] this is [Music] this is my father's world why should my heart be sad the lord you may be seated you may be seated [Music] this is my father's world how could my heart be sad the lord is king let the heavens ring god's reigns let the earth be glad if you were to just think back on on how your last week has been did you bring yourself through think about the times that that you left your house that you left your children that you left your parents did you bring yourself back together think about the stress that you that you that you went through at work think about how you made it through this week if you could if you could point to uh a single time where you brought yourself through i want to see you raise your hand but if god made ways for you i want to see you raise your hand if god cleared paths for you i want to see you raise your hand you know um it was it was this week that i was i was going through a couple of things i shared with my team um and god reminded me of of of a verse in the bible it says no weapon formed against you shall prosper and when it came back to my mind i i wrestled with it for a little bit but i i kind of understood what it was saying because the the word doesn't say that the weapons won't be formed against you it says that the weapons that are formed against you won't prosper a lot of times it seems as if the things that we are going through are too much uh but you can't come out on the other side of a test if you don't go through the test you must go through your test god is testing us to see if we will trust him because he's made a way he's made a way because we are here in this moment he's made [Music] if you can sing this with me you made a way when my back was against the walls and it looked as if it was over lord you you've made a way and we're standing here only because you've made a way you made a way when our backs were when [Music] [Music] can we testify and i'm standing here you've and we're standing here it was oh do we take this time to raise it up to him let's talk about what he's brought us through is is only because of your grace as you look forward to new trials and tribulations know that he's made a way for you before he's the same god from yesterday he'll be the same god today and tomorrow you know don't know lord i don't know why but i'm grateful for lord and we're standing here only because you've made lord we're standing here only because he's made known that you're standing here only [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you for your grace god thank you for your grace [Music] what shall i render to the lord for all his benefits towards me i will take up the cup of salvation and will call upon the name of the lord i will pay my vows to the lord now in the presence of all his people one of the vows that i will pay to the lord in the presence of all his people is that i will be a faithful steward so we ask you this evening if you have come here and god has been good to you to just return a fearful offering we have some receptacles in the fire over in the lobby section so we're asking you to just place your offering in those receptacles and i'm going to ask you now to bow your heads with me as we ask god's blessing on the generous offering that we will return to him for all of his benefits towards us will you boil your hands with me father in heaven i want to thank you for your grace your goodness your mercy i want to thank you for all the tremendous benefits that you have been stored upon us sinful human beings and we want to just pay of ours by be being fearful stewards and returning to you a thanksgiving in our offering thank you for being with us take full control of this service we pray in jesus this thing we gonna keep doing it until we do it right good evening family it's good to be in the house of god amen as we are here to celebrate the system of survival's um um pre can i call it that the pre to to the crusade that will be happening next year i want to welcome each and every one of you come on now each and every one of you to this night as we begin our service and as we continue i want us to do it with a heart of reverence come on now we need to enjoy jesus amen oh no come on you're telling me you need to enjoy jesus amen so i just want to welcome you and as we sing our theme song i want us to sing it so they can hear it on summit boulevard is that all right come on now so as the praise team leads out i want us to sing with everything we have faithful faithful is our god yes jesus jesus what to shall we [Music] so [Music] amen church you may be seated in jesus name it is good to be in the house of the lord what do you say this is a wonderful experience it has been a powerful experience in god's house for those of you who were here this morning i'm sure you will agree with me that god showed up and showed out in a very powerful way we saw how god touched the lives of his people even through the preaching of the word and certainly we had praise and worship amen saints it was a wonderful time in the house of the lord and i know that this evening has been no different as we continued uh to give god honor glory and praise here in the house of the lord i want to thank our praise team for always doing a wonderful job put your hands together for our praise team [Music] i want to thank them for a wonderful job that they always do we are very proud of our young people here at first seventh day adventist church of west palm beach and we want them to know that by the grace of god you know that stephen by the grace of god we will give you guys a hundred and fifty percent support so that you might achieve your goals for the lord amen by the grace of god as you continue to give him honor glory and praise we certainly will be there to support you and cheer you on as you give the glory to god you know uh i got a message from my next-door neighbor in fact a message actually a phone call and unfortunately his daughter came down with cancer a young daughter was diagnosed with cancer and he is it's a difficult time for the family at this moment he shared with me that he dropped all that he was doing and he is gone to be with his daughter and now they are awaiting results as to you know what kind of cancer it is and what method of treatment they might now pursue but you know there's nothing more powerful than prayer we know that god is still in the business of healing his people we know that god still hears and answers prayer and so we're going to do what we know how to do and tonight we're going to take some time now to pray for my next-door neighbor's daughter and i want to ask you to put her on your prayer list her name is lauren mckenzie lauren mckenzie please put this young lady on your prayer list we also want to remember our dear sister nicole and denise and all the other family members who are having to lay another family member to rest tomorrow morning due to coronavirus just last week we laid to rest their 37 year old niece who died from coronavirus she had her baby and on the sunday and by friday she died this has been a very challenging time for the family and unfortunately in the same family an uncle passed away and tomorrow they will have yet another difficult task of laying their loved one to rest i want to ask that the church continues to support the family in your prayers whatever other ways you can support them tomorrow the funeral service will take place at 10 am in the morning at the say at the said church that they had the funeral service last week that's the laxahachi sda church let us continue to keep the family in our prayers shall we bow our heads at this moment a loving father great god of this time continuum universe we pause yet again to seek your face because indeed you are a prayer hearing and prayer answering god we recognize the awesomeness of you one who is our god the one who is our creator the one who is our sustainer and the one who is our savior and so as we come into your midst now absolutely nothing we have to offer but to your cross we cling we recognize our insufficiencies we recognize that without you we are absolutely nothing we are just dressed up dirk walking around but with you we are everything that we ought to be and so even right now father in the name of jesus i pray that you will take my feeble words and through the power of your holy spirit translate it to heaven and may heaven hear and answer even the prayer of your servant tonight we have gotten the call we heard of this young lady sister mackenzie who has been diagnosed with cancer we know that you are still in the business of healing and so even right now father god in the name of jesus we ask that you will stretch out your mighty right hand from heaven and touch your child in a very special and marked way touch her heavenly father from a crown of her head to the sole of her feet i pray that you will touch every fiber of her being even now i pray that you will do for her what not even doctors and medications can do do what only dr jesus can do lord i pray even now that you will surround her with your loving arms and keep her from the wiles of the enemy increase her faith even now and help this young lady to know that if she would just place her faith and her trust in you certainly heaven will hear and answer her prayers and the prayers of the saints i pray heavenly father that not only should you grant her physical healing but even now i pray that you will grant her spiritual healing and strength i pray heavenly father that you will help her to know and understand that she serves a god in heaven who will never ever leave nor forsake her be with her dear father who stands by her side be with the entire family was there as a supportive arm to him i pray that you will give them strength give them power to go on from day to day give them your divine unction to function lord may you grant them every day the fruit of your spirit love joy faithfulness and long-suffering i pray that even through this experience that you will draw the family ever so closer to you i pray that you will show them and show your people once more that we serve a resurrected savior a savior who is in charge of the fears of man i pray heavenly father that you will take their lives and let your lives be every day consecrated to be i want to remember sister nicole sister denise and all the other family members who will have the daunting task of laying yet another loved one to rest tomorrow due to coronavirus lord i pray that you will empower the family even right now prop them up with your right arm and give them a glimpse of that day when you the god of the universe should burst through the eastern sky and come back to this earth for your faithful people the scripture tells us that when you should come to this earth the dead in christ shall arise first then those of us were alive shall be caught up together with them in the clouds and there we will be together forever and ever more the bible says we are to comfort one another with these words lord i pray that the family will even now find hope and comfort in your word help them to know that death for the christian is nothing but a sleep for one day soon you will come and put an end to all of this mess father we pray even tonight that you might come quickly take us away from this sin cursed world to a place where there's no more suffering no more pain no more sickness no more heartaches no more death but there in your presence the scripture says we will dwell forever and evermore and even now as we prepare to move into the preaching service as your man's servant brings yet again another message of hope to your people lord i pray that you will anoint his lips give him the right words to say and the right timing to say it and lord may your people find hope in thee tonight bless us now guide us and protect us and ultimately when thou shalt come it is my prayer that you will save us in your kingdom for we ask it in jesus name let the church of god say amen [Music] without any delay i want to present to you yet again god's manservant you heard all about him this morning he is none other than the president of the southern union conference we are delighted to have dr ron smith and his dear wife sister smith in our midst we are delighted to see how god has been using them in a mighty and powerful way and so without any delay i'd like to present to you first singing evangelist for this evening this morning we were blessed by her ministry sister el tisha after we would have heard from sister eltesha the next voice you will hear is the voice of dr ron smith amen church god bless you [Music] my hope is built on nothing less than jesus blood and righteousness i dare not trust the sweetest frame but only trust in [Music] jesus my hope is built on nothing less than jesus blood and righteousness i dare not trust the sweetest frame but holy trust in jesus [Music] strong in the savior's love through the storm he is lord lord [Music] when darkness seems to hide its face i'll rest on his unchanging grace in every high and stormy game [Music] within christ [Music] is he is lord lord of all [Applause] [Music] he has risen from the dead [Music] [Music] it will have to confess [Music] christ is [Applause] in the same lord of lords [Music] when he shall come with a trumpet sound oh may i then in him be found dressed in his righteousness alone stand before the throne [Music] is is the lord [Music] the weakness [Music] [Music] lord through every storm [Music] [Music] thank you very much eltesha that was a wonderful wonderful rendition [Applause] of meditation and to each of you on this saturday evening let me express to you my sincere joy in sharing this sabbath with you thank you for the wonderful time of fellowship that we enjoyed following our worship experience this morning and thank you for reassembling this evening for just a short time the pastor asked me to please remind you that there will be um the pastor said something to that would okay i think surrounding maybe take out i thought it was beginning tomorrow evening but he said there will be refreshments on the heels of our coming together tonight so i i know i don't want to make you fat or anything but we certainly want to feed you and keep you happy is that okay okay you know don't do what i used to do when i was an intern you know people would give me food and i would take it and i would drive away for a couple of miles and i'll look for the nearest dumpster well don't do that just because they're a take away we want you to enjoy some fellowship let's enjoy ourselves not trying to give you any ideas man okay but i certainly enjoyed our praise team tonight didn't you come on folk if you really enjoyed them put your hands together for them and i enjoyed my dear friend my new friend altisha we just met on today and i'm thankful for what god has done for you through this wonderful day of worship you blessed our hearts this morning and you certainly did it again this evening i look forward to hearing you tomorrow night thank you so very much for great leadership you're providing in music and i just enjoy our musicians you're doing a beautiful job they kind of disappeared too but we're thankful for what they're doing now some of you are looking quite fearful because you might be suggesting that i will preach a long sermon tonight well i preached a long sermon today i'm not going to do that to you tonight but i will have a longer message tomorrow night but it'll be a normal length message but tonight we're just going to try and say something that will encourage your heart and then we'll let you relax okay because the evening is far spent and i certainly don't want to wear out the good patience of you as god saints who said amen don't be saying amen to stuff like that okay so basically i'm going to direct your attention to the gospel according to saint mark the bible states clearly and succinctly in mark the fifth chapter beginning at verse 1. the bible says and they came over unto the other side of the sea into the country of the gatherings and when he was come out of the ship immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit who had his dwelling among the tombs and no man could bind him no not with chains because he had been often bound with feathers and chains and the chains had been plucked asunder by him and the fetters broken in pieces neither could any man tame him and always night and day he was in the mountains and in the tombs crying and cutting himself with stones but when he saw jesus afar off he ran and worshipped him and he cried with a loud voice and said what have i to do with thee jesus thou son of the most high god i adjure thee by god that thou torment me not for jesus said unto him come out of the man thou unclean spirit and he asked him what is thy name and he answered saying my name is legion for we are many and he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country now there was nigh into the mountains a great herd of swine feeding and all the devils besought him saying send us into the swine that we might enter into them and forth with jesus gave them leave and the unclean spirits went out and entered into the sea into the swine and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea they were about 2000 and were choked in the sea and they that fed the swine fled and told it in the city and in the country and they went out to see what it was that was done and they come to jesus verse 15 and see him that was possessed with the devil and had the legion sitting and clothed and in his right mind and they were afraid and they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil and also concerning the swine and they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts and when jesus was coming to the ship he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him how be it jesus suffered him not but saith unto him go home to your friends and tell them how great things the lord have done for you and have had compassion on you and you departed and began to publish into couples how great things jesus had done for him and all men did marvel we want to bow our heads and we're going to ask god's blessing again on this word and then i'm going to let you go heavenly father tonight we want to preach just for a few moments on the subject unshackled unshackled and as we deliver this word under your auspices we pray o god that you might speak words of peace power and exhortation to our hearts encourage us overpower us with your love and your grace give us a renewed resourcefulness but more than that lord where we are trapped tonight where we're shackled we pray that you will lose us unleash us empower us foster us to be free in your love let it be i pray tonight in the name of jesus amen in this chapter we've just read and this the fifth chapter of the gospel according to saint mark i find that perhaps you do as well what has got to be one of the most interesting chapters in the entire word of god not another chapter like it in the bible for in this chapter mark articulately conveys what it's like to lose your mind what it's like to be trapped and enshrouded by situations that you can't manage or contain but he also talks about in the very same chapter the empowering the emancipating the liberating power of jesus christ so in this the fifth chapter of the gospel of mark i find it's got to be something that's thrilling and riveting for your spirit picture your mind's eye jesus has been teaching and preaching by the seaside and now being mentally and physically and emotionally exhausted he beseeches his disciples let's cross over to the other side figuratively he's suggesting to you and to me tonight let's cross over to a higher level of truth let's cross over to a deeper level of piety let's cross over to a deeper commitment to spiritual things and things of love and things of grace let's cross over because this evening time let's cross over to the other side and there to meet him on the other side was a man whose dilemma was serious he was disowned by his people he was living in a cemetery and not the least of his problems he was possessed with demons here he is i've endeavored to look at this man as i read that text tonight his peer group condemns him he's forced to live in a cemetery and he's possessed with demons the tragedy is i understand that graveyards or cemeteries are designed for dead folks and not the living but his home is a tomb his companions are the skeletal fragments of those who sleep in the dust somebody has said this man was not only emotionally emulsified and mentally mortified but he was also spiritually strangulized he was dead a spiritually dead demoniac and it highlights the fact my brothers and my sisters that either we're going to be directed by god or driven by the devil either we going to be influenced by jesus or infested by the devil either we going to be sanctified by a holy spirit or desecrated by an evil spirit there is no middle ground of neutrality there is no straddling defense when it comes to spiritual things i wonder though what is it that caused this man to live in such a condition like many of us maybe he just couldn't cope with the problems that he faced or perhaps he just couldn't bear his burdens in the heat of the day or perhaps he just couldn't stand up under the pressures the pressures of staying in school cedric the pressures of finding suitable employment the pressures of being a social outcast in society the pressures of seeing the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer or perhaps his sins that pushed him further and further to a point of no extrication i don't know what the issues were but ellen white makes an observation she says one day this man took a step and the devil took control of his mind somebody has said the world could see the scars on the outside of this man but nobody could really see the wounds on the inside here he is he lives in a cemetery let me suggest something to you spiritually whenever a person turns his or her back on god there's but one place for that person to live and that's in the tombs of iniquity i hope you're hearing me it really doesn't matter how intelligent we might think we are you may have been on the dean's list every semester in college it matters not how many degrees you've got behind your name without jesus you're living amongst the tombs your home might look like the taj mahal but without jesus you're living amongst the tombs you may dress in all the finest of clothes and designer labels but without jesus you're living amongst the tombs there's but one place for a person who retreats from god and reality and that is to live in the tombs of iniquity the tombstones of irrationality marx says this man was so miserable that he takes sharp rocks and he lacerates his flesh and he pulls his hair out by the roots you know i uh the the prophet isaiah kind of gives us a portrait of this because mark says this man is so miserable early in the morning he's whimpering softly late in the evening he's howling and he's crying you know this guy he's restless i get the impression that there is a man living in the tombs who's restless and it kind of reminds me of what isaiah said he says the wicked are like the troubled sea which cannot rest whose waters cast up mire and dirt there is no peace saith my god to the wicked well friday nights where i live maybe not here in west palm but where i live friday nights the club the clubs are packed running from man to man from woman to woman sucking on the bottle popping pills smoking getting high trying to find release and relief what a message we have to share with this surrounding community and that is that peace doesn't come in a bottle but it comes in the body of christ peace doesn't come in a pill but it comes in a person peace doesn't come in a sexual encounter but it comes in a savior and his name is jesus and mark says this man is so miserable that he that he just he hurts himself or late in the evening as he cries and early in the morning as he whines you understand clearly that he's hurting himself you don't believe he's hurting himself i can tell you both he's really hurting himself because i i find a clear picture of that he cries and he moans and he howls and it reminds me of the people in our culture that are hurting themselves they're in my neighborhood they're in yours and they're people that we're going to encounter as we engage with mortal hand-to-hand combat with the devil as we seek to do god's bidding through this system for survival campaign i can see jesus now as he's making his way across the boat and that man is wondering he's asking does anybody care is anybody interested in what i'm going through does anybody care what i encounter in life that man is howling and it kind of reminds me of what young people's i was reading something very very interesting and this is hot off the press for those who who do this type of thing as i do hot off the site of the sociological press did you know that in the year 2016 which is our next highest statistic of teenage suicide now the latest one is is is 2020. did you know that more young people in the midst of the covet pandemic dynamic more young people have taken their lives than ever before in the history of the united states of america and they're taking their lives watch this they're taking their lives in protest they're wondering does anybody care does anybody care where i go does anybody care what i listen to does anybody care what i wear does anybody care what i encounter and what i decide surrounding my own life this man was wondering does anybody care and as jesus was making his way across the boat i'm so happy that the god i serve has a divine antenna that picks up distress signals somebody was in need somebody was calling on the name of jesus and this man was screaming from the very bowels of his diaphragm and i can hear jesus as he yells yes there's somebody who cares about you jesus is his name help is on the way another white paints a picture so beautifully she says that the boat begins to dock and to make its way to the gallerine shore she says that darkness really does have a way of making familiar places look strange but out of the elongated shadows of night she said out of the tombs suddenly this eerie form appears and he lets loose with a shriek that seemed to come from the very pits of hell itself as they look at this man as the disciples take a look at him he's stark naked he's foaming at the mouth his eyes look like two coals of fire from the burning hell itself he's screaming and hollering he's jumping up and down and the disciples take one look at him and their blood runs cold and curdles within their veins and they leave jesus standing there all by himself oh church of the living god how easily we forget how jesus has helped us through our last crisis through our last crisis why in mark 4 the chapter 4 just coming over the lake the night before you know the story the winds and the waves became a little unruly and the lightning had begun to write a flaming message of the scent in the sky and the thunder was muttering in protest against the eastern horizon and everybody on board was afraid master cares though not that we perish you know what jesus did he stood up and told the winds to shut up and the waves to be still that same hand that calmed the storm the same hand that stemmed the tide the same hand that quieted the elements was held up against these raging screaming 2000 demons in this one man and i can see the fact that if jesus could make the sun stand still if jesus can calm an ocean sure he can quiet the storms of our lives and the demons looked at this man and they saw that this is the same being who kicked us out of heaven in the first place you see ladies and gentlemen these demons had a sense of recall they remembered that this is the same jesus who thwarted us out of the courts of heaven and kicked us down to this planet and i want to say if you've been beaten up before you'll never forget it let me ask you a rhetorical question that means don't answer out loud don't tell on yourself have you ever been beaten up before i said don't answer have you ever been beaten up before i have since i'm preaching i can tell you about mine yes i was beaten up before as a matter of fact there was a little fella that i did not like i told you this story once before there was a little asian fella sitting next to me in class in intermediate school 72 in queens new york city i didn't like the way he looked he had straight hair he had slanted eyes he was a little frail guy i was a basketball player i was tall and i was more athletic but he was frail and he got a's on his exams i got d's i didn't like him so i took my pencil eraser one day i got a bright idea and i started just poking him in his side every time i looked at him and he looked at me very very calmly and he says ouch that hurts please stop i said no i don't want to stop i get poking away the teacher noticed what was going on and he turned around he says ronald keep your hands to yourself and lead choi alone then he turned around and began writing on the on the board again and i began poking him in his side and he says that hurts let's not fight let's be friends i said i don't want to be friends he says in a plaintiff whale i don't wanna fight i said i wanna fight i poked him in his side that what the the bell told it was three o'clock at three o'clock that's dismissal time for school there was always a special feature that took place at three o'clock well the special feature took place at the flagpole right in the middle of the courtyard of is-72 it's called benjamin schlesinger now it's called is now it's called count basie because the neighborhood has changed it's called count basie intermediate school well that flagpole was there and the crowds were there i mean i don't know before texting and before snapchat and before facebook and and before some of the communication motif that we have in our culture even existed the word got around well the crowds were there they knew there was going to be a special feature that day ron smith the tall bully was going to take on little joy well they were teasing and cheering and ranting let's get it on let's get it on and they were cheering it kind of reminded me as i looked out of the wwf the world wrestling federation they were all there just cheering and troy was trying to get away and i was trying to get closer to him and he looked at me very calm he says i don't want to fight i said i want to fight and then i looked at him i said come on man let's go at it and i lunged at him and the last thing i remember i saw something like this and he kicked me down to the concrete my head hit that hard ground and i looked up and the heavens opened and i saw the big dipper and the little dipper and all the heavenly constellations well i couldn't go down like that there was a hush over the crowd i couldn't believe it they couldn't believe it this little choi knocked smith down and i jumped up again jumped up again because i had trophies in the showcase for my basketball i thought i was famous there were a couple of sweet young ladies i liked out there in the wwf stands and i was trying to impress them but it was a very sad day for me because i jumped back up again i said i can't go down like this and i lunged at him again and again i saw one of these huh and he kicked me down to the concrete again and then when my head hit that cold ground i saw some of the most beautiful colors and then watch this i began to pray y'all shouldn't laugh there's nothing wrong with praying when you're in a crisis so i began to pray and guess what my prayer was lord please end this fight but you're not so good tell me isn't that a pretty good prayer somebody is not a good prayer that's a good prayer to pray when you're in trouble lord please end this right i started i messed it up now lord get me out of it and then my the lord was honoring that prayer but then my prayer got a little jiggy i said lord just like you with david the shepherd boy where he killed the lion with his bare hands and he slew goliath lord just like you with samson when he killed ten thousand philistines be with me this last time dear jesus as i take this asian out in your name what an ignorant prayer aren't you glad god doesn't answer every prayer that we pray the way we pray it well basically i jumped up now with newfound strength i knew the lord was with me like it was with samson and this time as i looked at choy he was spinning around like a top his shirt was off and he was making all these bizarre strange noises his hair was all over his head his shirt was off and he was spinning around like a top i should have known better and i lunged at him again and this time he he gave me a drop kick and my head hit the flagpole before it hit the ground and as i lay there can as i lay there blood was pouring out of my nose in my mouth and i remember saying to myself father into thy hands i commend my spirit and then you know what joey did he leaned down with his little hanky and he says are you okay and he picked me up he walked me to the washroom washed the blood off my collar got me through a very embarrassing time we came out of the washroom while the crowd was still there but they wanted to see the aftermath my arm was around joy and joy's arm was around me and then he looked at me and he says let's be friends and i said okay these demons oh by the way some of you wonder whatever happened to joy let me tell you something i was on a playground i was my my age was a single digits then you know i was just trying to i was trying to get through school as a little elementary intermediate student joy was a youngster as well but at age 42 years old i became very ill i suddenly succumbed an illness at least to what they call a cerebellar infarct it was an injury-induced stroke that rendered me crippled and i had to learn to walk again and to do everything again i'll tell you about that when we have time i'm going to let you go tonight and did you know who my doctor was dr joy so the lord answered my prayer in a very strange way i remember when choice saw me by my bedside as a grown man i was aged 42 years old and he asked me he says ron remember me and i looked on his smock and i saw dr choi and of course i even though i could have been on my deathbed i still had my egoitis that i was suffering for i said somehow it just doesn't ring a bell he says ron stop lying you know you remember me he says do you still have that left hook i said no doc i'm not a fighter i'm a lover i was afraid that joy was gonna finish me off he says we're gonna get you out of here man you're not gonna go you're not gonna go out of here you know in a chair you're going out on a walker on a cane he says but you're gonna get out of here and he got me out of there he's my friend to this very day wonderful neurologist and i want to say ladies and gentlemen this human being or will always remember joy these demons in human form they remembered who jesus was and if demons recognize who jesus is then everybody ought to know who jesus is come out of the man thou unclean spirit the bible says that approximately 2 000 demons came out of this one man and they went into some pigs and they all committed suicide that kind of mean that the the nasdaq fell the dow jones industrial average reached an all-time low because pigs represented the economy and the bible says in verse 17 we read it those that fed the swine they came out to see what it was that was done but what did they see they saw a man sitting and clothed and in his right mind he's not cussing and swearing now but there he sits verse 15 through 17 declares that there he sits with the docility of a little child there he sits with the innocence of a little baby there he sits in all gentleness he's sitting at the feet of jesus i see him master can i go with you jesus says no sir i don't want you to go with me why lord you've done so much for me you've given me my life back i've got dignity once again lord please don't leave me by myself you liberated me from those demons let me go with you jesus says no sir as jesus was getting in the boat he says here's what i want you to do i want you to go back to your neighborhood go back to your church go back to your community go back and tell men and women the great things that the lord has done for you can you see him as he's escorted down the dusty roads of downtown west palm beach i'm sorry downtown dakotas people asking hey weren't you once that crazy man living in the tombs what happened i can see him befuddled and somewhat confused but deliberate he says i don't know what happened all i know is i gave this man jesus my sorrows and he gave me his joys i gave him my nightmares and he gave me his dreams i gave him my life and he made me a brand new creature all i can say is that i'm free so the question is asked tonight would you be free from your burden of sin from your problems from your challenges from your difficulties that you face here's the good news there's power [Music] in the blood of jesus how do i know they placed him in a tomb they put guards on the outside and a stone at the door but he kicked free and because he's free i'm free and because he's loose i'm loose and because he's got power i've got power power over fear power over illness power over challenged family family relations power over life's circumstances wonder working power liberating power i know because they placed him on a tomb but jesus came out so if you're here right now counting your losses instead of your gains where's my musician i'm gonna wrap it up now try to remember remember what as i said this morning remember that he hasn't brought you this far to leave you now remember that he's really brought you from a long way think of where you've begun and where you are now remember that weeping might last for a little while but it doesn't last forever [Music] but jesus is coming back no doubt certainty no defeat victory no fear power because jesus christ rose and he declares to you tonight if the son therefore shall make you free you shall be free indeed hallelujah hallelujah [Music] let us pray thank you heavenly father for this motif that we've received from this wonderful context as presented by mark 5 and john 8 36 for indeed oh lord you set us free from all manner of dynamics that cause us stress and strain and difficulty and you showcase it through this wonderful journey of a man who lived in entombs in a cemetery you set him free you can set us free oh god i pray tonight in the name of jesus that you will let it be for your sake and for ours in jesus name amen if you're happy tonight put your hands together for jesus christ now i think cedric uh whatever your protocol is i think there's going to be a baptism right now and the pastor has indicated i don't know if they're already in the pool let me step over here so i can see some things but i certainly want to appreciate that we have a wonderful couple that's going in the baptismal pool and is our pastor anywhere nearby i don't know well there he is okay yes pastor amen amen uh the couple is dressed and ready to go in the pool by the grace of god and we will proceed with the baptism but we just want to take this opportunity this is a night number one we had a powerful day today and indeed a powerful night tonight and i just want to thank take this opportunity to thank god for what he has again done through his manservant i want to ask the lord by his grace to continue to pronounce his blessings upon dr ron smith as he will bring the word to us night after night now i need to share with you tomorrow night this is very very important and i'm gonna turn it over uh to the praise team and dr smith is gonna go ahead and do uh the announcement for our baptism and then he will do the closing prayer for us tonight but i wanna ask you and i want to encourage you those of you who are in the house and those who of you are who are online to remember about the importance of reaching out to our fellow brothers and sisters in christ to your family members and friends and letting them know that great things are happening right here at first seventh-day adventist church of west palm beach have you been blessed if you've been blessed say amen if you've been blessed say hallelujah if you've been blessed say me god has already begun and he's about to do amazing things in the life of this church all we got to do is make ourselves available so that god might use us but i asked the praise team dr smith just adoration for god and for his lady that he has as well very delighted for what god is about to do as new babies are being born unto everlasting life i know there are some people taking pictures i need you all to hear me the couple i need you to look at me just for a moment okay thank you both of you we certainly thank god for his grace for his mercy of development in your life certainly there has been a journey there has been an opportunity for you to have studied god's word you've been studied with you've been reviewed and i'm honored today to stand as a partner in officiation with pastor our wonderful pastor vidal and today we want to just honor god for what he's done for you you can't see behind the screen but certainly they can see you and they know that you're in the baptismal pool because they see you on the screen so make sure you put on your candid camera smile because you're being recognized and affirmed by this church community my dear brother marcel i mean sister marcel and brother jermaine because both of you love jesus and have decided to follow him and to surrender your life to him for the rest of your lives to lead one another to the throne of god day by day and week by week and month by month and year by year and because you decided to put the world behind you and the cross before you we cease pride and privilege now as ministers of the gospel to baptize you exit from here tonight and as we emanate back into our week that you might carve out time to make sure that you join us night after night beginning tomorrow night at 7 p.m great music good preaching wonderful instruction culminating next sabbath with another dynamic demonstration of god's power let the church say amen once more we're going to borrow hedge now as we ask god's blessing our heavenly father how thankful we are for the assurance of salvation through jesus christ thank you for this wonderful church community thank you for a very kind-hearted and prepared pastor and thank you for the demonstration to this wonderful couple on this night who've given their lives over to you through baptism through joining forces with your ranks how empowered we are to have experienced such a wonderful feat thank you again for the word this morning from broken spirits to burning hearts and the subject tonight unshackled and tomorrow night as we deal with the critical subject god knows where you are we're going to look at the life of jonah our prayer is oh god that you will do something unique something special as we prepare ourselves for february 26 through march 19 the evangelistic campaign scheduled for this church in the spring of next year right now lord in our prep time and our pep rally time as we seek to harness our resources we pray that we'll have all hands on deck thank you lord for the gift of the church to this local church and may we benefit from all the gifts that will foster our evangelistic program separate us from this place tonight but never from your presence and as we grab our wonderful take out to enjoy ourselves and to say so long to one another for a beautiful sabbath experience we ask your blessing of safety upon each one as we make
