RTX 4070 TI installation guide: everything you need to know about the 12vhpwr cable!

crew man here I wanted to do a 4070 TI cable install video now they're similar to all the other ones but I know people will search 4070 TI and I want them to actually find it and be comfortable because if somebody's looking for an install guide maybe they're just uncomfortable and they want to just uh they want to see their card and they want to just watch somebody do it so let's give you guys a rundown the 4070 TI like the 40 some 470 models the 4080 and the 4090 has a 12 volt high power cable that is the slot um and the cable looks something like this now for the 4070 TI I this is the second one I own so this is my first rodeo with these with this one you actually only need two uh eight pin pcies you don't need a three and you don't need a four there this isn't required so that makes it a lot easier which means you can power this if your piece if your CPU or I'm sorry if your power supply has two VGA outs which a lot of them have and you won't have any problems with it so let's get this stood up and watch how you install it all right so the first way the first thing I want to do while installing it is I want to pre-bend the cable now even if you're using a cable mod or a Corsair cable adapter you want to pre-bend the cables in case your case can't handle it you know you don't want to put pressure on this we haven't seen any examples of any of the lower end models failing but you still would rather be safe than sorry alright guys so I'm gonna put this in and you want to listen for the click you ready slide it in I'm trying to pull it out and it's not coming out so you know you can pull if you dare like not hard just a little bit but you should hear a click on the 4070 and like I said I tried pulling it out and I feel pretty confident about it so now I will show you guys how to install this in your computer while I will be putting it in my test bench all right guys you can see it on my test bench and you can see it's just plugged in right here I don't have the cables plugged in because I want to show you first now this is an 850 watt GA power supply I use this because it will work on everything up to a 40 90 so I just wanted to cover all my bases so I have two pcie a pins right six to eight pins right here now this is a single tail and this is a double so this one you know theoretically you could plug both of these in however I would not recommend doing that for this you need to make it one cable per eight pin so you would use this one and this one so let me get these installed real quick okay so you see right here we've got one of the single ones plugged in and then we've got the double where I just I zip tied it down here and I don't use the double you want one full cable to one of two one of the eight pins because this will draw too much power and you end up frying one of these I will put on the screen right now the max the max power that one of these cables can take and you really really need to make sure this is powered by two cables or if you have a Corsair cable one of those will work because they can output 600 watts from one of those cables or special design for it or if you have a pcie I'm sorry not PCA if you have the new um the New Gen power supply which it will say it is and I will put a link up down below of one what it looks like right now uh you can plug it directly in and it will be directly in here and you can skip this adapter all together anyway guys I hope this helps again if you've seen these before this is just for my friends who just bought a 470 TI whether it be an open box one like this one or they got a good deal from it somewhere and they just want to double check and make sure they install it right thank you guys for watching please like And subscribe I do crypto mining content and I do GPU gaming content as well as tutorials and help videos and I do uh some PC repairs some parts repairs and then I just do some silly videos every now and then alright guys thank you for watching I know your time is valuable group man out
