hello everyone and welcome to another video now today we're comparing 2020s RTX 36 DTI to 2023's 4060 TI to see how close or differently they perform at 1440p the 3060 TI is older therefore widely available on the secondhand Market though you can still get it new and prices have really started dropping since the 40 series hit the shelves I'm using an afox version which shares the same stats as the reference model it's an original gddr6 card not a more recent gddr6x release the 46 DTI I'm using is a reference one no matter your opinions on the card itself I think we can agree that it looks great as do most of nvidia's reference and Founders designs this also has eight gigs of gddr6 and was marketed as a high frame rate 1080p GPU though it is more than capable of 1440p gaming just like its predecessor both the 3060 TI and 46 DTI are running in my modest but capable I5 12400f system the 4060 TI is a pcie X8 card so results May differ when used as part of a pcie 3.0 machine Let's get into some benchmarks the first game I tested today was cyberpunk 2077. here we're using the high settings with high crowd density and high textures as well for the 4060 TI we saw 66 FPS on average with a one percent low of 46 and a 0.1 percent low of 42. for the 36 DTI we saw 59 FPS on average with a 1 low of 43 and 8.1 low of 38 so those percentile lows were similar but the noticeable difference was with the average keep an eye on the power consumption today as well which may be of importance if you are conscious about the power consumption of your computer for Red Dead Redemption 2 we have the ultra textures but everything else was set to high this can produce some fantastic looking results the 46 DTI hit 94 FPS on average with a 1 low of 75 and a 0.1 low of 62. the 36 DTI was a little behind at 86 FPS on average but again those centolos were closer and overall both cards provided a solid experience at this resolution and I should just say again that this game looks absolutely fantastic even a few years after its initial PC release for Forza Horizon 5 this is generally very well optimized it runs here with the ultra preset on the 4060 TI at 123 FPS with a one percent low of 107 and a 0.1 low of 103. in comparison the 3060 TI hit 103 at this resolution with a one percent low of 89 and a 0.1 low of 86. so there were definitely more noticeable differences here across the board with all three figures Marvel Spider-Man remastered at the high preset here any form of Ray tracing was disabled unless otherwise stated the 46 DTR hit 119 with a 1 note of 78 and point one percent low of 62. with the 36 DTI again those percentile lows were similar but the older card pulled head ever so slightly in terms of that 0.1 figure with a figure of 66 FPS on average this card was 8 FPS slower but without the FPS counter enabled I wouldn't be able to tell the difference just by looking at it or feeling how it plays The Witcher 3 with the next gen patch is up next here we have the ultra settings hbao plus was enabled but screen space Reflections were turned down to low as these can have a pretty huge impact on performance this is of course a game that supports dlss3 frame generation but we've ignored any of that today as well as any other upscaling methods and we are focusing instead on Purely native resolution benchmarks here with the 46 DTI we saw 105 FPS with a one percent load of 73 and a 0.1 percent low of 64. with the 36 DTI which is still going strong in 2023 and very much worth a buy at the right price we're seeing 98 FPS with a one percent low of 67 and a 0.1 low of 57. so again slight differences here but a respectable performance overall from this older card in Shadow of the Tomb Raider now this is an older one but I wanted to include it because once we crank those settings right up and we enable the RT Shadows or Ray Trace Shadows we do see some pretty system intensive results now 80 FPS on the 46 DTI was followed by a one percent low of 57 and a 0.1 low of 55 so no status of frame dips to report here the 36 DTI still hit at least 60 FPS with 63 on average and a one percent lower 44 with a percentile low of 42. Hogwarts Legacy now this can be problematic on quite a wide range of graphics cards but overall the average was solid with both gpus today 96 for the 46 DTI and 90 for the 36 DTI but if you look at those percentile lows you'll see that they were pretty much identical in fact they were identical exactly the same now of course A lot of these games tested don't have a built-in Benchmark round so I try to replicate the exact same scenario but this isn't always possible especially when it comes to multiplayer games so I focused mainly on single player ones today but I do have a fortnight Benchmark coming up as well Minecraft RTX so with Ray tracing here and the fancy settings saw a 52 FPS average with the 46 DTI the newer card and the percentile lows were also okay you may notice a few dips and drops this is more true with the 3060 TI which hit 43 FPS but I still think this is quite impressive considering how demanding Minecraft RTX is now now Minecraft the traditional Minecraft is actually really easy to run but the RTX version well it certainly is very system intensive it's a fine effort from both gpus considering though Grand Theft Auto 5 is another old one but I feel like it's worth including because it is still played by thousands of people every day according to the steam Hardware survey of course now we have the highest settings here with 2x msaa I actually enabled MSA because leaving it off caused a few heavy statters because once it gets to a certain point I think it's like 180 FPS something like that the game does exhibit some harsh frame drops so enabling msaa was best the advanced graphic settings were also on and set to their respective maximum here the 426 DTI managed 121 FPS on average with a one percent low of 92 and 8.1 low of 74. the 36 DTR wasn't too far behind with 113 1984 and 71 respectively finally then we have the aforementioned Fortnight Benchmark which is actually really demanding with the highest settings once we've got Lumen enabled um it can really take a toll on a lot of Hardware here we saw 68 FPS with the 46 DTI 56 as a one percent low at 46 as that 0.1 figure so not too bad in terms of frame dips and drops in fact I started the Benchmark after playing the game for two minutes on both cards and I try to stay around the same sort of area although it is going to be a lot harder to replicate an exact scenario with a multiplayer game like this I think you still get the general idea though and the 36 DTI still hit 60 FPS with 61 FPS on average and again some solid percentile lows now of course I've had the 36 DTI for a while the afox version it is one of my favorite cars I think the 3060 TI when it came out was brilliant but of course it was very hard to get hold of if it wasn't massively overpriced due to shortages and whatnot the 46 DTI definitely not the most popular card when it launched I think that is more than fair to say but that doesn't mean it isn't capable and I'm sure we're going to see the price drop over the coming months 36 dtis are still very much worth buying though especially as the price is dropping of course with the 46 DTI we do have access to the latest dlss3 frame generation Tech as well which is quite exciting in all honesty but I hope you've enjoyed this comparison at Native resolution and if you did leave a like on it leave a dislike if you didn't let me know what you think of both of these cards Down Below in the comments subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already and hopefully I'll see all of you in the next one
