to bring him to the channel I was I was like kind of working away just on some packing in my room and I was listening to like put a bunch of like kind of like Gen 5 kind of mega review videos you know it's kind of like hour-long documentary type things you find you could these days we just talk about video games and all the like go really in depth I was watching those for Gen 5 today and like [ __ ] I'm nostalgic ax I just want to constantly keep playing the game III really just want to keep playing it and go back to it it's last play true I made of a Gen 5 game it would have been after black and white 2 came out if I would have finished my last playthrough seven years ago of white 2 because I can never bring myself to start over in those games because I just I love them too much and like I too attached my team got like a full team of 100 sin white 2 which is like I think the only Pokemon game where that's actually happened iron she thanks for - could I was a got a tweet you the people in this chat who actually have found Chinese while I've been searching the black and white - the ones where you had a group of friends who you could I've call you a nickname no that's x and y although black and white black and white your first one is the first kind of Pokemon game where you do have a group arrivals but they're actually really good rivals I like to actually I've liked character arts which was interesting like you have n who I think is the most developed Pokemon in what's the most about Pokemon the most developed character in the entirety of the Pokemon franchise but I I would say like eat like the only other person who comes closer is probably Lily from Sun and Moon but you have n you have Bianca who's like literally like runs away from home and her father just yells at her because he doesn't want her going on an adventure and wants to kind of have a more grounded in simple life I like hammers home the idea that's foolish to be a Pokemon champion it's weird we're talking Bianca in those game because she actually gives up on her dream as the game goes on which is kind of like a depressing realization she realizes she's not the best trainer and gives up but she kind of finds peace with that fact I didn't have Sharon who is kind of like emotional and calculator and just wants to be basically the champion but then realizes he's not good enough but still keeps trying and also has to try and make peace kind of heart-wrenching it's like for some of those characters not like some of the other Pokemon games - it's like one personality trait like they actually change as it goes on I really like that oh god yes that's the first I want to group arrivals I'll see Gen 5 brought up some very interesting questions about the Pokemon universe jame the real villain was so one-dimensional that's the thing box out yeah like Gattis is like the weakest point in gen fight [Music] but the actual argument like Team Plasma is makin it's basically like animal rights activists who are like hey maybe maybe maybe legalized cockfighting is bad and maybe we shouldn't do that the Pokemon which is like its yolk that's a fair enough case I think and they actually gained traction and support which is interesting like the evil teams like plasmus plan to kind of like spread and ideology is actually much better than some of the other ones I think where it's just like you know we want to destroy the world cuz that's like almost every other villains plan oh it's a good world is it pure I must remake it in my image no Team Plasma just wants to spread an ideology and liberate Pokemon but like that is the planet which is quite cool honestly because they've hair hair almost succeed too and then yeah cash this is kind of like cash is just kind of reveals themselves like herding her I was using this for my own power which is kind of like the weak link in the plot but outside of that it's actually really well-rounded and it raises some very valid points and I kind of like that idea where it's like the evil team all besides like just a political campaign more than anything else they're not just trying to kill everyone it's basically a good piece yeah it kinda is honest to god and it's weird too because in black and white too they go into the consequences of that movement and you still have some people who are actually part of like a reform to Team Plasma which is one of the more interesting plot points and they still kind of believe in the ideals of Team Plasma but they've just separated from guesses which is really interesting because it's like imagine if like Team Rocket is beaten and like the red and blue and then afterwards it's like well we just gotta be Team Rocket - and it's like you know we're just gonna not be evil because I basically what happens with Team Plasma which is like it's such a cool development I think [Music] Jesus the rocket was basically ought to play slots kids babble thank you for a thousand bits yeah they kind of were they were just evil for the sake of being evil you know you gotta have a villain which you know this is cool and you're like ten but give me some more interesting you know that's the plot in black and white is actually really cool because of that cuz they do I they have a fair case it's never fair enough point it's like yeah maybe legalize cockfighting is bad because that's basically Pokemon is your win money if your win a part like that that is cock-fightin that's banned in most countries it imagines that a Pokemon with your dog's fight you like it's kind of [ __ ] up the Team Plasma as a point which is cool - the kid thank you for a thousand bits as well hey I see you have a shiny I really like to give you a promise not shiny willow I never wish to ruin a underground arenas I mean that that would be cool yeah it'd be nice they just did some of the more interesting takes yeah I miss that kind of plot from like black and white like Sun and Moon comes very close to so like replicate Matt and I kind of getting a semblance of it whereas like some proper strong character development as I came goes on but I don't think it's quite the same I think and it's the reason that pushes it over because and it's just like a really compelling antihero I think and especially especially with the sequels blast away to where they basically just continue the story I think it's so well done as even bits were like n is like a bit of PTSD from the first game where it's like he doesn't trust himself around her to Pokemon but he doesn't think he has the right to kind of capture her used him so he sticks with like the legendary from the first one which is so well done honestly honestly it's the best sequel I think black and white 2 is the best Pokemon games with period III I think everything since then has been worse X&Y just you know it was cool have it all in 3d post games disappointing Sun and Moon again story was cool region not as interesting I think and there's no postgame and why I've heard from sword and shield there is not much of a postgame although we do have DLC for this game now which is gonna make it very unique case I think - my opinion I mean I think that would be really good IIIi was like to see Pokemon like doom or kind of out there RPG stuff like Colosseum was kind of interesting is the idea that you're a criminal or a net me although they kind of forget that plot point like you kind of commit terrorism at the start of Colosseum you do just like to blow up a building where like a lot of people are working and you steal a bunch of Pokemon so I yeah it's an interesting what XD is much more attainment comparison to that because xD here just you're just the professor's assistant I want a new Pokemon Conquest I need to finish Pokemon Conquest I really like it it's a very unique take on Pokemon I mean hey we're getting like the mystery dungeon remaster so you know anything's possible we could see like a Pokemon Conquest HD or DX you know because like they've shown if they're not like above now like remaster and those old Pokemon games we could've got a Pokemon Ranger DX that could be very cool to see you could even get a new Pokemon Ranger like there's some fantastic spin-off titles true Pokemon slice fan and I think people would very much welcome them [Music] [Applause] Tommy thank you for a other stuff I'm happy to talk about Pokemon having a Gen 5 discussion moocher black and white as quality music it does we're listening to a lot of it now I ain't black and white as I like black might do in particular eyes like a lot of fanservice cuz the pokemon world tournament they have like remix versions of every past champions theme which i think is one like the coolest and most unappreciated things like in the franchise the eggs is so cool to get like those like more modern remixes of every champion thing did you watch it actor Pikachu I did it was pretty good be putting this on YouTube I don't know I put stuff on YouTube when I feel like putting it on YouTube there's no guarantees I can wait to as the god taro is to you know it really does alright there's just so much to do in that game to you know the post game the post game I think is much more interesting but going to even comparisons like HeartGold and SoulSilver i want it's not the most popular opinions but I think Caracol and soul Silver's post game it's kinda like a barren wasteland when you get the can't I was like there's actually not much going on and and this is a very little plot and there's very few things to do other than just kind of growing battles where is what black and white - you have legendary hunts you have a huge new power of the region you have like bits of the story to wrap up you have like white tree Hollow and like black forest you have the real pokemon league is still tackle because like that's all different you have two Pokemon world tournament you have they even like a bunch of special offense the kind of like encounter around the map like you have to go get you're both alone and still and there's a lot of reasons just to react spoil the world and you know even though with things like seasons and that you have to go though every region four times basically before you get the full experience please because there are little like adjustments in like new items that you can find in each route so I think that's much more interesting even crossing the HeartGold and SoulSilver honestly you have to play with the memory link though which is like an interesting thing the thing it's like black and white 2 is amazing if you play black and white because we're without black and white you're missing some of the context for some of this stuff in those games and it's not as good of an experience is I both of the games are both like the kind of like two games that you have to play together because we play black and white in its own you have a lackluster post game if you play black and white 2 on its own you have a lackluster story because the story heavily relies on black and white climate sunny thanks for thousand bits no way over here from YouTube this is the site as my the champions I mean it the best champion is Cynthia I'm like from Gen 4 I think there's no contest there and I of all the characters actually reappear in Gen 5 I'm glad it's her second to Cynthia I mean Steven is a very compelling champion I do I do like him because he's got like very strong pressures and gentry I do actually like alder quite a bit so he doesn't really have the spotlight in black and white or even black and white - but he's a more kind of interesting character because thinking got a pair of mine with alder in black and white is he's actually suffered from depression because his his favorite partner Pokemon is dead at the start of that game and he kind of wanders without a sense of purpose I just like a content redoing him and Sharon in that game too because he doesn't seem to take his role that seriously at the reason he doesn't take it so seriously is because he's still kinda dealing with [ __ ] which is again it's a very interesting take on a champion like he seems to have fun the role he enjoys the job but he's quite withdrawn he doesn't have as much presence because of her he's just an interesting character though again when you take that with like the original black and white and black going to when like even like resigns as champion I think it's a very interesting character yeah he resigns his champion to he just kind of gives it up and I would like retires to a fan which again I think is a very interesting taking I'm trying to think like like what other champions are no I mean I think that's a it really Lance doesn't really have much presence so please it's not that interesting yeah I don't think anyone cares of how DeAnza from gen 6 I don't think anyone really does professor in Sun Moon but he's not that interesting he's feel much of like a Mary Sue Gary III I think there's more interesting than him honestly Gary is just like he's targets just an [ __ ] that's their high anger there's more interesting characters for the champion Leon though of stop okay you hate Leon already a John thank you for a thousand bits if you had to pick what is your favorite starter Pokemon from each game then overall whoa-ohh yet so that people were doing this I thought this is like a Twitter in nature while back okay so favorite by generation so Gen 1 jeonhwa Nyack ie I have I actually do like Charmander I always like the Normie response but I do like Charmander for Gen 1 gen 2 is cyndaquil this is no contest gen3 would prod Gentry is weird for me because I actually I love all of the starters in Gentry and it's one of the few Pokemon games where when I play a true I try to have a team with all three starters if I have to give it to only one I would pick pumpkin but I act I I think Jen fruit Cleary is someone like the best starters in like the franchise history they're just all very interesting especially we like the the gentry remakes where they add mega evolutions for them I think like a grass dragons Sceptile is great my least favorite generation but I love the starter is the most from it for Gen 4 I'm in the pit block camp Gen 5 I kind of low-key hate all of the starters but I would give it to sniffy because I think sniffy is the most interesting Gen 5 is the only gen whenever I play it that I do actually ditch the starter when I play black and white I pick I I picked up a bikini because the event was going and then when I play black and white - I picked up a riolu because you can get it quite early on the game and I just kind of ignored my starter past that I was a Snivy is I thought Snivy was wrong I used to actually say Snivy but someone corrected me on that okay it's naívi right good to know for Gen 6 froakie because I think greninja is just really cool gens sakes have some really strong starters as well I think I think they have some very interesting final evolutions but I really would like greninja for Gen 7 it's violet there's no contest there and for this gen I mean I like I like my score bunny I do have him here my favorite starter is overall the my favorite fire starter is probably cyndaquil because that was not just my first Pokemon so no special place in my heart favorite grass starter I got to give it to rile it I think he's just the most interesting grass starlett had and then for water water is really hard because Piplup Mudkip and froakie are all actually really cool and they have all really good final forms I would probably give it the froakie though because I think I like greninja the most out of all the final forms although that like that's very close Piplup wins in my opinion app it like it Piplup is really cool I think that's like very hard to place the best water type one I think it's I think it's a very narrow tie between the three of them but doing a Nuzlocke of both black and white and black and white and for black and white - I'm gonna see if I can get challenge mode for that as well so the stakes will be really high on that because challenge mode actively makes that game significantly more difficult like every trainer has its more Pokemon every gym battle they try to use items on their team they have like better mood sets and like the AI is a lot smarter on challenge mode - for whatever reason I think as I try to catch you out a lot more favor early-game bug-type they all kind of suck I'll be honest with ya coolest bug type though it's probably either like scissor or Volcarona one of those two I would give it to be is whenever that's one my favorite songs from Gen 5 is playing right now what's your favorite my favorite song from Gen 5 is unde Ella town in spring it's just kind of like some calm beach noises and you kind of just listen to waste it's very common snob I haven't encountered snow yet so I can't say snob what's your favorite legendary I mean I love Victini like bikini is the first time I ever used a legendary I'm like team I do love zekrom because again Pokemon why pokemon white - trying to think what other ones I really like as far as legend areas are concerned a lot of the Gen 5 legendaries honestly are really cool like I like Landorus therian I know it's a Normie thing Rotom if you can him as a legendary he kind of was for a little bit back in Gen 4 I do like dark Roy Shaymin Gen 4 is a lot of cool ones he trans are really cool legendary I'd probably give a slight either Victini or sacrum honestly Jamin was sick now he really was I'm like that wasn't like the alternate forms just started to like with platinum so like it in shaming sky was like a really cool it's like really strong - I tried it in oh you and SMO gone for a while it was banned it was too strong Giratina is well of course not I miss jeren like even under 500 bits killer of rock thanks for 500 bits my cover legendary zechariah zechariah by far i think like the way the legendary is in core are incorporated in black and white is one of like the most interesting by far [Music] because like they talked about a lot and it's weird cuz like black and white is like this he weird a mix of like tradition and unlike folklore makes sort of very modern society and like see you pokemon databasing like these ancient concepts concepts such as like shape-shifting foxes and then you have these more modern things where it's literally just a garbage bag whereas like it's trubbish or it's like you know it's just a candle or it's like it's just gears to kind of represent that modernity and it's this weird clash with the times that i think is really cool like the theme is on point for Gen 5 where it's like to have all the sense of history but it's very modern and this like ideological clash between like clash between the true and ideals of the world I really like that and I like how the legendaries I incorporate in Gen 5 to because and actually catches one and he's basically worthy enough of a legendary and see one time in like a series - it's like you know how the evil teams often just manipulate the legendary 4 as part of their diabolical scheme and doesn't do that he catches one and it deemed him worthy of like being like its trainer which is like holy [ __ ] you know he's just that strong so I find like how they use Legendary's they're like really compelling manga and it's like a really strong character because of that again everyone else is just like I like you have some evil weapon or like you're manipulating it no he just catches it like he is chosen by the legendary and he embodies it Jax X 400 bits RT right now in this essay I will I'm gushing about Gen 5 a lot I know I do Gen 5 gets a bad rap like that and the ice cream Pokemon vanillite but it's like every generation has it's bad Pokemon [ __ ] Voltorb is a pokeball with a face and it evolves by turning upside down Grimer is a pile of sludge that evolves into a bigger pile of sludge Magneton is tree Magnemite put together the rubbish designs but that we've just gotten used to them over time every journey has is bad ones I think all of the design that gen 5 has it just has a lot of good ones that people just overlook as they look at the rubbish bag basically but scraggy is bad no I think scraggy is really cool honestly it's like weirdly modern Pokemon Dugtrio yeah it's just here's Diglett it's three of them execute is just a bunch of eggs that's it it's just eggs we'll thanks ourselves a [ __ ] you be like a reinvention of a franchise where it's like here's your 151 Pokemon you can use I believe Gen 5 actually as 156 Pokemon and then how many Michigan's was it it was Janus like mayavada Victini Janus like made a lot of Victini was the one more Chaldean yeah so there's four of them so even in that sense Gen 5 had like a hundred and fifty-two Pokemon in its base pokedex so that you can kind of see almost like there's sort of like a homage paid to Gen 1 with that design where it's like we're gonna one-up it quite literally with the Pokedex and then you have the michigan event once thrown in for good measure well you know Gen 5 gets a lot of flack people really are divisive on it a lot of people do not like the region but I think it's the most interesting region because it's the first time Pokemon game was set outside of Japan and I just brought a lot of variety into it you know he had this massive city if things like seasons which is like a mechanic has not been seen since [Music] without X&Y were the most hated it I think now x and y are the most hate is just because they do so much loss potential and kalos trying to think what the most disliked pokemon generation in general good facilities and what I mean by good facilities is like have you got like a good spot for day care have you got things like like you own your battle tower or like a somewhere you can get additional items well that's another important thing to look for and of that front like the Pokemon games have only ever been getting better I think probably Omega Ruby and alpha sapphire is one of like the best ones for the postgame now simply because there's so much of those facilities initiative you can do a lot in ranked game son a moment really good for like a lot of that stuff too where's like you just go like a shopping center area here's everything you need like kind of in one handy spot I don't know how it is for a sword and shield the app I hope they've got something like that just convenient oh
