we're here in Santa Ana California brief inspection and it has a whole bunch of asphalt compositional the result was this whole city is asphalt they didn't count it asphalt composition shingle roof where you buy home and they're selling a home you should have the roof checked out because you want to make sure that somebody did a good job and when he first look at these rifts in the fine in look okay but we're going to show you upon closer inspection so first thing these pieces right here these are called your Ridge caps they get worn out you can see the granules are coming off the whole roof it's got granules coming off it is pretty much the very near the end of his life expectancy these ones uh there were pin nail which means they use the nails right there that's supposed to they should be replaced at getting River foods you want to make sure that roofer don't stick you with this crap this is crap so they give you a bid install your classics good we need flash please install flashes we need so if they don't tell you is that yes we're gonna install the flashing we're gonna take your old ones and we're gonna put them back on these are all flashes I know that's what they look like this thing is sixty years old not only that you're going to make sure they use nails not staples staples are just not heavy-duty enough they're just really not and if you look they won't even hold the flashing down do that your hand goes right up under there yeah windblown rains not gonna get out of there and when they reseal your flashings don't let them do this anytime you read when they seen your flashes with a proofread are you're fired gonna clean this off your still this is PO you the base see what it was that you start getting once the people are doing this if you can avoid the people to do this you can avoid stuff like this you see they got nice little piece of metal going around here that's good except for this one short that's not good and then now they're not even making it back there's just a hole wind blowing rain leak tential leak one of that probably leads tear just what you get when you hire some of these jokers so the best thing you can do is we'd them out before they even get to give you a bid where they end up giving you this look at this is improper so supposed to be a little water way around here this is really good it's about a 3/4 of an inch it's perfect except for they use the old flashy fail this one oh my God look at they put a staple where's the water way how is the water gonna get out I mean it's just crazy and they pounded a antenna or something and then just sealed it up gotta be kidding me so there's another one that they always miss you have caps and collars on all these pipes not all of the pipes I mean all your hot pipes your vent pipes water heater furnace nice little cap please just fly right off I always make sure good contractor will put a little sheet metal screw right there keep this from falling off that'll be nice because if this water does go down in here your furnace comes out the pilot goes out you got to have on this one over here this one over here well probably when they did the tear off look at this what is missing oh yeah that's the kneecap probably they had one blow off already put a new one on they never put the storm collar on storm collar is this one right here really important that right there so how you're supposed to do it is you don't not you do not seal it here this is open we can see down inside that I'm just shitty guitar it's ridiculous and then you put on your call it over it you seal on top that way eating gas that xscape this vent pipe will come out under the storm collar vent out now let's lock into the attic its carbon monoxide it's a minor right now it's probably not gonna choke and kill you but still I mean just do it right do it right and look at this oh yeah give me a break that's what half these rivers do credible so save yourself from having all these problems and just pay a little bit more look at that that's just Wow incredible I hope this never happens to you so we're gonna go inspect that niche see you in the next one
