[Music] welcome back watch people now it's a big one today guys i've got a statement here um issued to me by someone currently working in the northwest dealership in central london but before i get into this which is going to confirm what a lot of us have known and have thought for a very long time i want to thank this individual um for their bravery for their honesty and for choosing me to contact i've already watched youtubers they could have chosen um i take it as a compliment that they chose to contact me now i'm going to be honest to start with at least i was a little bit wary of this person after all anyone can contact me and claim they work in the northwest dealership and before i bring you a report as damning as this one i have to check my sources properly and i went over and beyond my usual criteria for this one because as you'll see in a moment when i read this to you this is not pleasant reading so it actually led to a a rather comical a bit of a double oh seven james bond moment because i actually insisted on visiting this person at the offways dealership in which they claim to work of course they didn't want me to introduce themselves to me they didn't want to speak to me so we simply made an arrangement for them to wear something um that we'd previously agreed on so that i would recognize them so that i would know exactly who it was who i was dealing with and that's what we did um and the following statement was issued to me by them um and you make of it what you will it says hi paul i work in an all-price dealership in london that's all i can give away but i have supplied you with evidence to prove that i am who i say i am and they certainly did i have worked at this particular store for almost three years but have grown tired recently of being instructed to sell things to clients that they simply aren't interested in i find it really rather embarrassing when someone comes in to make an inquiry about a certain watch and i have to encourage them to buy lesser models or brands whilst knowing that realistically there's little or no chance of them getting the watch they actually came in to inquire for i just don't feel it to be right and i'm not comfortable with this at all some of my fellow workers are fine with it others not so much but we do work on commission for certain items and to some a sale is a sale and we have to earn a living most sports watches are sold to clients the area or branch manager chooses usually they're well known to us you know the real big hitters but i'm sure a lot of them simply drive straight from us to hatton garden it's really obvious what they're doing but they are the ones spending big we have clients prepared to buy 10 lesser models just to get one hot sports watch and i often ask myself what are they doing with these lesser models i don't know for sure but i believe they are selling them the cost price or even maybe taking a small loss just to get the big hit on the hotter watches one customer has had three hot sports models from us in the last couple of months meanwhile people who have been waiting 80s for these watches simply don't get looking and it really feels quite deceiving at times and they went on that not all authorized dealers are like this i've worked for other boutiques too but there was no pressure on staff to sell jewelry or lesser brands to customers but now things have changed and i can't see me working here for much longer i love working with watches but i just don't enjoy my job anymore obviously i have to keep my identity a secret as we are made to sign a confidentiality agreement but i owe these people nothing and i see how you try to bring certain things to the attention of the watch by in public and i believe they deserve to know that just about everything you say is true now guys i guess you can make of that whatever you will i mean there are some of you out there that will say well this isn't exactly news we already knew this but when it's confirmed by someone working in an authorized dealership it really does hit home to me i mean one or two of the things in there um i know for a fact take place when this person says that they are prepared to buy lesser models and lots of them just to get the big hit on the sports watch now let me give you an example um you could walk into an authorized dealer and buy say five rolex datejust um and lose a thousand pound on each one of those watches so you're five thousand pound down so far on your dealings with that particular authorized dealer but then you go and get a platinum daytona or a green doll yellow gold daytona and of course that five 000 pound is swiftly made back swiftly comes back um into your investment and i believe that this is happening up and down the country sometimes the authorized dealers know what's going on clearly sometimes they know what's going on maybe sometimes they're not maybe some of the the dealers are a little bit more naive and i do believe that that can happen guys look as i said make of it what you will it's not a nice practice but i think the moral of this story is is this if you find yourself inside any authorized dealers and they turn you away from the watch that you're in making an inquiry about if it becomes obvious that they're quite clearly trying to sell you lesser brands lesser models in an attempt to try and convince you that this will somehow push you up the waiting list or up the ladder walk away walk away because your investment is almost certainly lost at that moment it's very very doubtful indeed that you are going to get the call or the watch that you initially entered the store for if you want a hot sports watch if you want a watch that you need to go on a waiting list for or what they now call a preferred client list then do that leave your name leave your contact details with as many dealers as you possibly can we know that they're trying to localize that now as well which makes it even harder but you have a decision to make don't you watch buyers out there have a decision to make are you going to play the game with these people or are you going to walk away from playing this game with these people my advice to you would be one or two things either walk away or actually one of three things as i've already said put your name down and wait and be patient and if it happens it happens walk away and don't play their game in any way shape or form and the other option of course is that if you really want that hot sports watch rather than spend excess thousands of pounds of an authorized dealer with no guarantee that you're ever going to get that watch in the first place simply go to an independent dealer who already has the watch yes it will have a premium on it but that premium is sure as hell going to be a lot less than you buying half a dozen tag hoyers half a dozen bremont's half a dozen breitlings half a dozen rolex datejust before you eventually even think you might get the chance to buy the watch that you really want that's my advice and i believe that this statement supplied to me by a very brave individual working for an authorized deal in Uj/ how much does an entry level Rolex AD salesman actually make? Is it all commission? Doesn’t seem like a very profitable job but I guess they’ll give you a Rolex to wear on the job.
