Robot Wars with 60,000 PSI Waterjet

Robot Wars was one of my favorite shows to watch growing up did you ever see Robot Wars I saw a big hero 6 so that's kind of the same thing so I thought what would be better than doing Robot Wars using a sixty thousand psi water jet and these are our robots these are remote-control cars that we picked up on Amazon for interesting these are remote-controlled cars that we picked up on Amazon for something like I want to say there are 20 bucks apiece or something and the way these work is they are near impossible to drive in a straight line left joystick controls the left side right joystick the right side until it flips until it flips and then all of your controls are now inverted so and it's like and I can flip upside down and it's it's all or nothing on these these joysticks - it's really hard to just do a small movement we built an arena we used the finest materials available to us and we have set it up on the waterjet table and that is where we are going to be trying to push each other into the water jet or is the water jet gonna be chasing us you're talking about this crappy wood thing yes Craig will control the water jet and we will survive we'll do three rounds one minute each round the first round will set the speed to like 33% we'll be going around trying to push each other and it Craig will be trying to chase us once we survive that round if we survive that round round 2 will bump the speed up to 66% and survive for another minute round 3 will then be a hundred percent and 25% 125 percent because why not we'll go as fast as the water jet will let us see should start off first round low pressure at no abrasive yeah no pressure or high pressure and then third round high pressure with abrasive yeah earlier we set a metal puck in the set and that represented where the water jet stream was and we did some practice runs to see if we could just avoid a stationary stream and it was it was kind of difficult these cars are really hard to control so we may only last one round so it'll be a this will be kind of like a 3-way robot war miiverse Mitchell versus Craig right winner gets Mitchell's hundred dollars yep turn the jet on [Music] [Music] [Music] first round we survived I think we hit the water did a few time I let's assess I don't think I hit it you definitely hit it on one of your wheels it went across your wheel right there just gave it a good cleaning I was taunting him the next round we are doubling the speed the water jet can move and we're also bumping the pressure from 15,000 to 60,000 so four times pressure double speed now we have to survive another minute [Music] [Music] [Music] this next round is gonna be real difficult for you okay it's this this chunk right here is probably loud water in there in the screen sent month yeah that's it it's pretty good gouge cut the wheels right off so that's why only we got abrasive this next time we roll out mild repairs get some electrical tape all right you've got about six layers in there count us up [Music] so you're stayed alive probably 15 seconds longer than I thought it would have yeah break it over here tell us finally did you ever have control of your vehicle no right when I turned it on it was just spinning and I had no control and the controller wouldn't work anymore so I was I knew I was a goner the other side did it oh it actually fared better and seriously these things are so hard to control and drive straight I drove straight through the water jet oh it was right there yeah that actually didn't do osmotic it was moving fast enough and you were moving fast enough yeah we were moving towards each other when I hit it way wherever it stopped you can see it blows a hole but other than that that's just quarter inch MDF like right here didn't quite get all the way through since it was going so fast Mitchell really doesn't want me to have his hundred dollars so he's saying I've got to survive a fourth round that is half sized on an angle that's that's roughly half so now I've got to survive same speed yeah same speed half the amount of space you go surviving for one minute [Laughter] [Music] I lost a wheel though pretty bad there's no electronics in the wheel so like yeah internally you were still fine yeah I did run through the looks like you hit that opposite side right there yeah so I did accidentally run straight through it and now as a reward he gets to run free go back into the wild no let's try that again okay he's now free go buy one of these right now on Amazon because that is durable that gets our seal of approval [Music] [Music]
