Road Trip Travel Gadgets! Steering Wheel Tray + More!

videos like this now I'm in Orange County today my kids and I took a quick road trip for a concert here last night and I thought that would be a good opportunity to try a few roadtrip related travel gadgets so now for the delay let's get right to it [Music] let's take a look at what I've got here now first up I've got a couple of travel pillows this one by my pillow which you've seen advertising television and this one is by Casper now I open these up last night to unbox them and first use them so here's how that went I just got back from the concert I came here for which is sea and bar I'm kind of tired it's about time to the sack but check this out look at this sight he's put way too thick for me look at the size of those I know a lot of people like those but I'm not a fan but fortunately I brought two pillows with me this is the my pillow travel which I reviewed quite a while ago and I will link that review above I also brought the Casper NAP pillow which is supposed to be for travel they say call it a night in-flight sleep under the stars or doze off at your desk so I brought here to review tonight mom's sleeping this hotel so let's check it out yes there's a pillow in here believe it or not now we're getting somewhere I'll get there eventually more stuff to open it comes with this fancy carrying bag well that seems a lot smaller in person that I that I expected no that's it that's it even though it's small and I expected it might still be comfortable it says it has a fluffy outer layer and a supportive inner layer let me take them out of their cases and compare them the my pillow travel is designed to be rolled up for lumbar support if you want to put it under your back and then you tuck it in like that and I've used it for that purpose and it works pretty well okay so there you go but let's take it out of there it's kind of like the original white my pillow is kind of lumpy this is lumpy boat and this size of the lumps don't really matter so much now let's try the Casper at nap pillow aha there's some big tags these tags so look these are very close in size look at that alright so we have the Casper the Casper looks even smaller the my pillow is already small the Cass Brooks even smaller and it kind of feels almost like a down type not actual down but has that kind of down feeling to it this has that lumpy shredded foam so I'm gonna try sleeping on these tonight as opposed to those behemoth pillows that I can't sleep on and see which one works best good night so after sleep on them one night I really think that the my pillow was better than the Casper cuz the Casper seems like it more it's more for like a plane or a car or you don't need to sleep on it this one is thick enough to can actually sleep on a bed overnight so I think this one it compressed so far down I didn't feel like I even have a pillow at all now I like thin pillows just not that thin on the other hand let's see how these do in the car on the way back home next up is a direst this is kind of an interesting gadget it's designed for your car and you can use it in different configurations as a pillow as a lumbar support cushion so this would not have to use in the car I actually took this to Australia with me months ago with the intent of using it but I really wasn't in a car very often I didn't have a chance to properly evaluate it but let me show you how it works on my trip back home today this is a steering wheel I guess they call it a steering wheel tray or desk and this hooks onto your steering wheel so you can actually eat there's a cup holder there or you can work there's a kind of a pencil thing here so I'll be interested I haven't used this one yet I got off Amazon for about 12 bucks it's pretty highly rated so I'll be curious how this does on my way home when I try my laptop on it when I try some lunch so let's see how that goes all right next up is the Alpine rivers neck wallet that's right at neck wallets never heard of one before but these are also highly rated Amazon I got this for about 15 bucks aha well it's still a little bit crinkly but I found was inside and the alpine rivers credit card protectors they even have a passport protector I'm assuming this is for RFID blocking all right so I'm gonna load these up with my credit cards I'm gonna put all the contents of my wallet in the neck wallet and use it the rest of the day and this bills you can hide it in your shirt so we'll see about that I've got my neck wallet right here with my card and passport protectors can use the passports I didn't bring it with me to California don't need it here I've got my old school yeah old school yucky wallet here I'm gonna transfer the contents in here and we'll use this the rest the day including my phone they show the phone in the picture so let's see how that goes all right wallet is empty first up three credit card protectors boom voila so they have a lot of pouches here they have one two and the front one on the side and a big one in the back too so I'm gonna try to see if I can fit my phone in one of these I'm gonna see the iPhone 7 goes in there 7 plus and it does zip it does zip all right cool I've got my three protective credit cards and some other things I'll put those right there I think I'll put my cash in the side pocket these will have to just sit this one out put a few business cards in the back the nick wallet is fully loaded let's check it out all right do I look good how cool is that look stylin now right now I suppose you can hide it in your shirt but they didn't really show a short sleeve shirt like this they showed more of a button-up shirt so I don't think I'm gonna be able to hide it in there I hope you can can you see it nobody will know right looks like I've been hitting the gym you look pumped up didn't miss chest day this week guys I'm gonna go to the fast food place say I want a burger how much is it alright that's it for the intros let's hit the road and see how they work alright so the ad arrests can go on the headrest of your car a couple different ways you got velcro here you got velcro there and you got velcro here so you can put it up here if you want support higher you can put it down here if you want support lower you can even just put it down the bottom if you want some lumbar support as well different areas a bunch of different options so I'm gonna start off way up here yeah it feels pretty nice it's like having a it actually feels like an actual pillow behind my head we hit the road and try the address and the other things on the way back to Vegas my neck wallet so the neck wallets working out pretty well it's actually easier to tuck in my shirt that I've done now I wouldn't do this normally but if I was traveling somewhere fast fastest Del Taco ever been to that big order and they went it was like a minute so anyways the neck while it's working out pretty well like I said I think I would probably do it somewhere I was worried about pickpocketing more than use it in place of a wallet because reaching your shirts a little bit weird but if you're out traveling you worry about someone stealing your stuff it's a pretty good option otherwise I'm pretty happy with it and also the an arrest let me not forget about the address the address is very comfortable I wasn't worried I was going to be sitting up like this but no you kind of just sink right into it it's a very comfortable pillow and it's right in the right position where it keeps you upright but your head's supported so I'm digging the address for sure but now it's time to get out the steering wheel tray and have my lunch alright now there was no instructions it just came shrink-wrapped and that was in no instructions whatsoever but since I'm eating I'm gonna try the side with a drink and see if my drink fits there so it looks like it just kind of hooks onto your steering wheel like that well like this it's working now will it hold this big heavy drink I mean it's kind of weighing it down they put my food in there first get situated and see if it holds it all up here but yeah kind of working you trust I trust that what do you would you guys miss it yeah yeah I put my leg right here to hold it there you go alright I'm gonna I'm gonna get situated try some lunch alright do you guys have del talk where you live cuz it's kind of a West Coast thing so I actually like del Taco I don't know if this is really good for a real heavy drink like this this is a medium cuz you know in America we like our big drinks this is a medium I think for a can that would be good but maybe not a giant drink like this cuz it's kind of making my steering I'll do that I'm just using my leg right here to kind of hold it from doing that but I kind of like the idea I got all my food right here I'm not gonna get it all over my shirt and after this I'm gonna try my laptop and see if I can actually do some work at my car steering wheel with the tray there but next up is time to eat from Del Taco are you good yeah all right all right so the lunch went well I think to clean it off it didn't save this dishwasher safe see probably us wipe it off with a towel or something by the way I transfer my drink to my red copper mug which I reviewed about two years ago I still like it I still use it and it's a it's one of those things where you can't knock it over pretty cool it has a spill proof lid so if you haven't used this one it's actually pretty nice it doesn't hold as much as like the Yeti but it does function very well and it doesn't tip over all right so now we're gonna do on the car tray the laptop test we're gonna start off with a small laptop this one belongs to the cameraman who's filming right now so say you're in your car and you do get some work done while you're having lunch in this case it looks like it works pretty well oh yeah look at this perfect you can actually turn it over the other side without that cup holder and you could even put maybe a pin there you have your mouse I think it's gonna work pretty well now what happens when you get behemoth 17 inch gaming laptop I'm not too sure about that well I can feel it pushing down then I can feel it pushing down I feel like it's gonna fall off maybe not good for a gigantic laptop I mean I guess if I put my knees under there it kind of works there's nowhere for my mouse obviously so I don't know I think the smaller laptops might work better here the bigger ones I mean I could be sitting there playing for tonight in your car anyways are you so I think it's gonna depend on what size laptop you have but I think it's pretty cool as far as most laptop size ago this was a little bit above average size I think I think it's pretty good what do you guys think comes off easily - before we leave I'm gonna see if Brandon the cameraman wants to try the address cuz I've been talking about how nice it feels so brands gonna try next to do and try it yeah you sure you want to try it you sure yeah right here just put this this over your seat like that not on your head you know but on the seat do you think here no reaction whatsoever I see what you mean like you can put your head back but then you're still like upright yeah I feel like you're leaning back too much like a lot of headrests you don't actually put your head against you just kind of like it's just like this hard material but this is actually nice and soft so Brandon approves all right now we're about to head home one more use of the neck wallet you get my credit card out and pay for it you know the credit cards the kind of the kind of deep in there I kind of got it big for him there they are no I don't want a carwash no oh my goodness so you guys think I should leave it out or in which looks better so I'm not sure if I if I like it on the outside that looks a little bit I don't know not the coolest thing I've ever worn before but it does work and when you go on your shirt it doesn't look too bad but I think I need to play around with what goes where because it seems like something is getting far down in there have to kind of fish for him but otherwise I think has a pretty solid function in some situations I think this would be pretty useful especially traveling when you're want to keep it variables close too close to yourself not the camera close to me I mean they valuables close to me cameraman cameraman is losing it he's gonna lose his job in a minute here camera is about to get fired all right hit the road I don't have much else to test he said for the pillows in the backseat after that we're gonna wrap things up back in Vegas while we're stopped in Barstow I should mention that the newest edition of my road trip travel gadgets is this van true dashcam I just reviewed several dash cams in a recent video and this is the one that I picked as my favorite this is definitely a good one for your road trip [Music] all right we're in Baker now the kids have been sleeping with both of my travel pillows I'm gonna have them switch and then see how they think about him when we get home how's that pillow doing back there good right here try that one out this is the Casper you're the might pill here Oh all right try that one out for a while all right all right good night hi I'm Brandon the cameraman has just gotten cozy with his my pillow travel after using the Casper we're gonna see how they both feel when we get home all right so here we go I would have guys goodnight all right back in Vegas let's recap all the items here as far as the pillows go all three of us picked the my pillow travel which is ten dollars cheaper than the Casper because the Casper was a little bit too thin even though it's comfortable we kind of felt like it wasn't enough material to really be a good cushion so that my pillow travel is about 25 and the cast was about 35 so I think the my pillow travel is the way to go the steering wheel trailer is about 12 bucks I think that's something that some people who eat lunch in their car or work in their car a lot will have use for not everybody but people like uber drivers police officers that might be something that's something to consider the $15 neck wallet I'm not sure that's for necessarily for a road trip that might be for something out of the country where you want to keep your valuables safe you're not sure where you're at just to have it around your neck when you're driving around I'm not sure about that but it's a pretty cool item and if you have a need for something like that it's pretty inexpensive and find the adda wrist the comfortable pillow that runs 25 to 30 dollars depending on which model you have I think that's actually a pretty cool item too the pillow is very soft and if it's something that you're interested in having a pillow back there this is definitely something you should consider have you guys used any of these products tell me what you think in the comments
