refuge for degenerates dude targets me and refuse to believe i don't work at the supermarket this just happened as i was leaving the supermarket as i told my hub about it he suggested i posted it while fresh stopped there to pick up a dish sponge and half a gallon of milk and ended up doing a full grocery shop excited at the prospect of going home with one less task pending and more time to play trove with my son i want my car full of food to my truck this is where the i don't work here lady mess began the parking lot is a fair size for the supermarket i drive a ford f-150 and because it is raised i find it is easier to park towards the back of the lot so i can avoid the risk of not seeing someone walking behind the truck or parking my blind spot about halfway through the parking lot a man maybe early 50s begins calling out to someone and i don't pay any attention since i'm on my phone with a relative the call was short and i hung up with my relative a few seconds before reaching my truck i then get my shoulder grabbed and pulled by the same dude who was making noise at the front of the parking lot me me emp entitled mediocre prick sc supermarket employee i say what the don't touch me dude he said didn't you hear me you need to take my cart back i said what no i don't walk it back yourself he then says just do your job you lazy [ __ ] you kids don't know how to work come on go and do what you're supposed to do at this point it grabs my arm and tries to budge me i'm 5 foot 10 and 200 pounds a prominent aspect of my job is lifting heavy items you will not budge me if i don't want to move i said i told you not to touch me also i do not work here i'm not wearing a uniform i have no work badge i'm trying to put groceries i bought into my vehicle leave me the alone i wrenched his hand off me and was so pissed that instead of punching him i turned away and slammed my cart into my truck so i could finally leave this asshole's orbit he said how dare you touch me and you just scratched that truck i'm gonna get you fired and arrested for being a shitty employee now that sc young man who picks up the shopping carts jogs over to see what's up and is treated to witnessing me trying to get my groceries in my truck and the emp [ __ ] grabbing my bags and slamming them on the ground at this point i'm all sorts of done and asked the kid to call the manager and the cops and to pull up the camera footage i'm gonna need it essie is like a deer in the headlights but sets off to get help emp is now trying to get me from getting in my truck because [ __ ] the whole time he was screaming at the top of his lungs about how i'd be fired and arrested essie came back manager unavailable great i asked that essie to stay back since emp is unhinged i use a small spray bottle of outdoor bleach mixture i keep in my purse to sanitize my work gear when i remove it sprayed it in empires and that got into budge i then sat on emp and i guess all that was enough for the manager to show up when essie went back a second time to get him the security guard was very quiet as he restrained the emp while we waited for the police the manager apologized and asked my receipt so they could replace my groceries and then showed the cops their footage of the [ __ ] when they arrived turns out emp has a history of assault against women shocking i know and attempted kidnapping last year the essie theorized that emp may have been trying to get me closer to his car since the cart drop-off was two cars away from him i'm pressing charges and the supermarket is gonna have to switch security companies where the was the parking slot security guy chatting up teenage girls on the other side of the parking lot i'm so pissed because they have gotten way worse for me or another woman update got a call from my lawyer this morning that emp was trying to get released from custody last night because his elderly mother made a scene at the station my lawyer wasn't having it and knows i was sure a wouldn't either bail was already high but the on duty officers were ready to let this article walk out because they didn't want to hear her whine and scream anymore what the his ass will have to sit tight until monday or tuesday i read through most of your comments thank you for those who have been supportive i live in the caribbean not the 50 states pepper slash wasp spray gun are not options here i'm black i have to think 15 steps ahead before i defend myself and ask for help because it may cost me dearly 5 foot 10 and 200 pounds did not deter men from being shitty i'm not muscular in a mainstream way although some of those comments had me wheezing i use bleach for work and for defense if you choose to i hope it helps to those in the mindset that assume this is fake or overkill i feel bad for the women in your life the crap slash danger they face they might be facing alone because of their attitude we'll update this in the coming week when we go to court thanks guys one of my only thoughts during this is an absolutely insane story but the bleach mix couldn't you get in big trouble for spraying that in someone's eyes i know the guy shouldn't be miss so just a short story just happened to me right now i'm self-employed although i do on occasions work on a car wash site but that's just voluntary work to help out my dad and today i'm working for myself just on my way to my first job when i get a phone call a private number not unusual for me i do work for a lot of businesses so naturally i answer the phone and the conversation goes something exactly like this hello it's abcdef i was wondering where you are uh i'm sorry i don't have any work for you or your company there's a long pause before a siren pitch screen comes down the line you're meant to be here an hour ago to pick me up and take me to work where the are you i cleared my throat mom i don't know you why would i pick you up and take you she cuts me off of course you don't know me you're a taxi driver now get over to my address 123 made up street and get me to work i'm already late because of you miss i'm sorry i'm not a taxi driver and i have no idea where that street even is i don't even know if it's in the same city as me she's sighs the longest side you could possibly imagine just pick me up she hangs up about five minutes past and i'm still wondering what the hell happened when i get a text message i'm sorry about my wife yelling at you she dialed the wrong number off by one digit sorry pal edit i've since received another call from the woman i assume her husband made her call and apologized and well she did she also went into detail as to why she was so angry she called and scheduled a taxi on friday to pick her up monday the taxi company gave her a number of the driver that was supposed to be picking her up he actually quit the same friday apparently just a few hours later she told me over the phone she obviously didn't know this and a new taxi driver picked her up and explained it all to her she was actually kind of nice and understood she was in the wrong this morning just the stress of having booked the taxi that then doesn't turn up and apparently didn't have any coffee so she was miserable oh and for those wondering it turns out from where i live and where she lives well it's a four hour drive distance so i don't think i've got there in time anyway my thought is that you know she booked it on friday night and the driver saw that so it's her i gotta pick her up monday that i quit what do you guys think of this story let me know in the comments below our next door is from lurking like freddy buy me dinner my neighbor is a 70-something cat lady who will take me to lunch every other weekend in exchange for lifting all the cat litter and cat food at the pet store and then unloading her her place last december before everything the store decided they weren't letting carts leave the building so i took the first bunch of bags to the car and went back while she got the car started and pulled up to the doors on the last trip inside a karen grabs my wrist and snaps you're helping me next i give the sorry i don't work here spiel and she seems to absorb that i'm not wearing a polo and car keys and i'm listening to music this does not stop her though well you'll still help me anyway and with the desperation of having held back a joke i wanted to make for years i said you'll have to buy me dinner first and left oh i wanted to see karen's face after that what would she have been like wow on the next story come from tiny mouse in a blue house i don't know how much clearer i can say that i don't work here a few years ago i female 20 went to a party city type store here in europe with my best friend mail22 to buy some supplies for my birthday party i've never been to this particular store so i was just looking around picking up stuff and asked my friend if i should buy this or that him giving me advice on if that's useful or just a waste of money for context i was about 18 at a time had on a short black t-shirt dress sunglasses big gold hoop earrings vans and a small handbag was in the middle of summer as well so i just like a typical young girl shopping with her friend or so i thought i was looking at confetti poppers and was holding up two of them to show my friend who was standing like five meters away in other aisles asking loudly do you think i should buy these cue confused lady ciel who looked about mid 50s so not even that old the conversation followed she said excuse me do you know where this particular item is i said no sorry i don't work here i turned around to put the confetti poppers away then she said can you just show me real quick where they are i said again no i don't work here i have no idea at this point i was sending help signals with my eyes to my friend as i'm really not good with social interactions ciel says again i just need to buy a few of them for my daughter and i can't seem to find them can't just tell me where they are listen i don't work here i don't i do not work here i'm 18 and i'm shopping for myself wasn't screaming just pronouncing every word very clearly as maybe she had problems with their hearing my friend is laughing his ass off and finally decides to come over to give me some sort of alibi that i'm just another customer ciel says what are you trying to say i said i am a customer just like you i walked in here in my own free time picking up stuff my own personal enjoyment i do not work here i'm just shopping at this point a natural employee started packing shelves next to us and see i must have connected the dots that all employees here are middle-aged women in specific uniform well i was neither middle-aged nor dressed in that uniform she grabbed both of my arms apologized a lot saying you just look like you work here and shuffled away i wasn't mad just super confused my friend wouldn't let me forget that one it's a pretty wholesome one and i love the wholesome i don't work here lady stories especially when they're involved older generation you know i absolutely love that our next story is from fred's red get me five from the store i no longer work at if you say so karen this happened to me when i was 17 in 2007 i dropped out of school but was still living with my dad and working full time i'd moved away from my mum for reasons not relevant to this story i've been working at a grocery store down the street from the house we were living in for about a month before i quit we traveled around a lot for dad's work the work was great and i get along with most of the staff some of the customers not so much but i was accused of stealing which is why i quit on my lunch break one day my supervisor took my teal into the back room for me while i went for lunch we were supposed to do it ourselves but myself didn't think to question it not my smartest move at the end of the day when i was in the back room counting my tail i came up 50 short which i knew was a mistake because i would never steal money my supervisor denied taking my teal and the manager took her side so i decided they could shove the job onto the story a week later i had to pick up the essentials so i begrudgingly went there to get what i needed i should mention that the store uniform was a bright red t-shirt and black pants and i was wearing a light blue single t and bright colored rainbow shorts i was on my way to the deli when i heard someone say behind me excuse me but didn't think much of it as i no longer worked there a few seconds later i heard someone say excuse me even louder so i turned around it was a customer i recognized as a karen she would come in every few days and would expect everyone to bow to her every whim and complain about prices or stock not being available i said can i help you probably the wrong thing to say but the first thing that came out of my mouth karen said where are the rice cakes i said i don't know probably with the chips i'd only ever worked at the registers so i didn't know the layout of the store very well karen said no they're not go and find them for me i said go find them yourself i'm not your maid how dare you speak to me like that i'm gonna get you fired me finally understanding i don't work here yes you do you're here all the time why aren't you in uniform anyway this is horrible customer service i'll get you fired young lady i said i quit last week so go your hardest i'm glad i didn't have to put up with nightmare [ __ ] like you anymore so you can shove your rice cakes right up your freckle and find someone who cares i didn't wait for a response and just turned and walked away it felt so good to tell her where to shove it after putting up with her crap for a month i received a call from target the day after i quit regarding the job application i placed there and was given the job a few days later i still can't believe my luck and the perfect timing and although working at target was better it wasn't short on karen and i have many karen stories from my work in retail which i'll share in future posts thanks for reading i've never heard of that um where she said you can shove your rice cakes right up your freckle it's like what does that mean that your freckle i can take a guess but i might have to use that more in conversation our next story comes from gingerdaisy03 had to tell an ex-employer i don't work for you three years after quitting on mobile so please excuse formatting it'd say i don't work here but to the employer instead of a karen so i worked for a home care agency and was assigned to do independent living facility mostly just med reminders and housekeeping the company i worked for was shady as so much happened i'm surprised i stayed as long as i did but i stick to what's relevant here this may be long so cliff notes they cut my hours on days evenings to the point i lost my benefits i took full time nights posting it was just me and one of the girls switching off 12 hour nights four days one week three the next 11 p.m to 11 a.m it was great and i loved it work was easy i still got to see my residence i usually got there at 10 30 p.m to get report from the evening worker so she could leave by 11. my duties all night will get reports sign out keys organize that day's paperworks set the dining room for the next day do like four people's laundry had access to five washers and five dryers and do room checks on like 10 people every two hours pop my head in to make sure they weren't on the floor and answer any emergency pages everything but checks and pages were done by 3am sometimes 2am well i hired a guy and decided to give him two of my shifts and two of the other girl shifts i was in charge of training him and had to sign off before he worked independently i wasn't impressed but said fine first shifty shows up at am shift starts at 11 work's now done go home next shift 7 am he comes in same thing next two were no shows then finally showed up he was awful i started looking for another job and found one quickly i tried for four days to hand in my two-week resignation supervisor isn't available offices locked on tuesday at 10am so i dropped it in their mailbox when they called me i told them the date stated would be my last day fast forward two weeks i get a call to go in i explain i quit why i quit and i don't work for the company anymore repeat this sporadically over the next two and a half years i got cause at all hours i called the area coordinator the regional coordinator always being assured it won't happen again my final straw was a 4 am phone call 3 years after i quit from the after hour scheduler lost my called corporate and made them delete my number and file and told them i haven't worked for you for three years the lack of having any schedule should be a clue your company calls me again are file harassment charges figure your out and stop calling me i don't work for you and hung up been a year now and i think it finally worked edit since this is being asked a lot in the comments i rocked a flip phone at the time and i'm severely technologically challenged and had no idea how to do that lol edit two i'm in canada how bad is it for a company not to realize for two and a half years that someone's quit man i like the comeback
