welcome to our /out and work here lady where we share stories about folks that go into other businesses and have irate customers mistake them for employees and today's first story is I'll call this working for free every so often I have to go to Home Depot for parts while I'm on the job and while I'm in the plumbing parts aisle I hear the Home Depot master plumber they supposedly hire trade experienced employees to work departments they're talking with a customer about piping and water softeners it just so happens that I work in the water conditioning business the Home Depot employee was being a D to this older gentleman and ended up walking away customer disappointed so I did the nice thing and walked up to this guy told him who I was and who I worked for me hello sir I couldn't help but overhear you're having an issue I don't work here but I can give you a hand introduced myself in my profession man thank you I'm having issues with my water and I don't know what system to choose me I'll be honest sir I custom build systems and install them but I will help you pick out a system that should be able to meet your needs we find a system that would at least last him a year or two water is bad around my parts and cheap systems go fast as he walks away another few customers come up to me asking for assistance with advice cuz they overheard me with the other guy note I am actually on my company's time right now I help them as fast as I could and started walking away when the actual plumber guy that worked at Home Depot called out to me Home Depot plumber dude so you must be the guy they hired to replace me me no sir I'm military so I call everyone sir and ma'am I just felt compelled to donate some time to some neglected customers Home Depot plumber dude so you're soliciting Home Depot's customers do I need to call the police God heeded me no I just sold three of Home Depot's cheap a water softeners two three neglected customers in under half an hour I just did your job for you maybe you should stop making a scene and neglecting all of your other customers before I go and get your manager and close my business account with Home Depot home depot plumber dude stormed off like a child I finished gathering the materials I was lacking for the next job when the third person I helped walked back up to me and apologized because she heard how the plumber dude was talking to me and ended up just asking for my number to have me just take care of it for her me being in a sticky situation I asked her if I could give it to her when we were out of the store so it didn't look like I was soliciting I checked out and walked outside gave the lady my business number and said goodbye just until the police rolled up and started questioning me about soliciting business I plainly stated what happened in the store and I was just trying to help some customers out store manager and plumber dude came out and started batting off their BS and how they have me on camera just when the third lady was pulling out and saw me the plumber dude store manager and the police outside going at it and got out of her car to back me up while she was going at it and giving her story of Home Depot employee disappointment the other two people walk out with their Home Depot water softeners and thanked me for my help and waved and I waved back the Home Depot store manager stopped the conversation apologized to me until the plumber duty was fired I tried to stop the manager but he was peeved when he saw that my story was solid and those customers walked out surprised and happy as could be so yeah that's the story the next story is I'm not a French flight attendant I have an outfit I wear on planes it's all black and consists of a sweater that looks like a blazer and a really comfortable pair of black pants it looks sort of businesslike but it's also comfortable enough to sleep in turns out in dim light on a red-eye across the Atlantic it looks somewhat like an Air France flight attendant uniform I've been studying the French language for quite a while and had been chatting in French with one of the flight attendants earlier in the flight so we were on good terms several hours into the flight I'm waiting patiently outside the lavatory for my turn as my new flight attendant friend was preparing the drinks to hand out to the cabin we were chatting again in French here comes the man from LAX he marches straight up to me and hears me speaking French sees me in my black uniform esque outfit and understandably mistakes me for an Air France flight attendant although most of the plane is attempting to nap he demands in his loudest outdoor that I turn the air-conditioning down because he's cold and he also wants a glass of water um sorry I don't work here I say he continues talking over me with more demands I don't work here doesn't hear me keeps talking I don't work here I'm a passenger just like you I have no ability to get you what you want you should ask somebody who works here because I don't work here he grumbles and walks off complaining under his breath about service my flight attendant friend rolls his eyes at me and laughs quite a bit I don't think he even saw that there was an actual employees standing just around the corner from me flight attendant friend goes and gets him what he asked for I go back to my seat chuckling another story is give me a big discount because you work here I don't so this happened about a couple of hours ago I was at my local EB Games and wanted to apply for a job because I'm tired of having to ask my parents for money the conversation between me and the manager was that they don't take people under 16 cool but as I'm about to go back out of nowhere one of my friends mom's is there and she stops me entitled mom hey Opie how are you doing me oh hey I'm doing good entitled mom anyway I saw you talking to the manager about your job and I was wondering if he could give me a discount as you work here I really need one for my son keep in mind the friend who I know is a guy who I just talked to sometimes so I don't know how she even knows me plus I don't work there also I'm pretty sure EB Games doesn't do discounts her family members of the staff she wasn't family anyway me sorry but I don't even entitled mom come on I know you have coupons or other codes just give me one for like 50 to 70% off me sorry but I don't work here and I don't think they even have coupons this big entitled mom don't lie to me stop being selfish and give me some codes of yours it's not like you need them me entitled mom I don't work here hence I have no codes for you they don't take people under 16 and I don't think they even have a system like that for discounts anyway I have to leave now so bye I leave after that and thank God she left me alone but I saw her going to the manager before I left so she might have asked him if I worked there she wasn't a typical Karen and didn't harass me too much but she was still a Karen hope I find a job soon story is lady thinks I work at Disney because I was trading pins with my daughter so my family is very fortunate to live very close to Disney World every year when they have their Florida residents 4 day passes we go this year my daughter and I decided to try pin trading our first day we stopped outside of the entrance to Disney to use the bathroom I waited outside with my two daughters three years in six months and decided to practice how to do the pen trading with my three-year-old while we waited for my husband to come out let me also say I looked nothing like how the cast members at Disney looked I had a Winnie the Pooh tank top on black shorts a Disneyland eared with pins and on my back I had an eat a bag full of pins I didn't plan on trading I also had two strollers in front of me no one should have mistook me for a cast member after doing some mock trading with my daughter a little boy probably around 8 ask to look at my pins I showed him the ones on my lanyard since I keep all my pins I want to trade on there he didn't seem too interested in the pins on my lanyard but soon noticed my eita bag boy can I see those pins me sure but I don't want to trade these I show him the pins in my bag and say again how I don't trade those he soon spots a Nightmare Before Christmas pin that's actually my husband's my attempt to trying to get him into pen trading - boy I want this one me I'm sorry that one isn't mine to trade you can pick any of these I motioned to my lanyard while trying to now keep my three-year-old from running off into the park I soon noticed the kid's mom coming towards me I was a little relieved hoping she would pull him away from me mom oh are you trading how fun boy mom I want that one and she won't trade it with me mom well she has to its Disney's rules at this point my anxiety had taken over at Disney the cast members have to trade their pins with anyone who asks to trade other guests do not I sigh trying to calm myself down me the cast members have to trade but I don't he can trade one of the ones on my lanyard but my bag holds the pins I don't want to trade mom you're not an exception to the rule trade with my son or I'm going to report you to your manager me do you seriously think I'm a cast member mom you were just trading with that little girl so it's obvious you are me I was just practicing trading with my daughter mom what right there I'm going to get your manager and we'll settle all this out I didn't say anything I was so dumbfounded I'm here struggling with a three-year-old and a baby and she thinks I'm working all I could think is maybe she didn't actually think that maybe she was just trying to manipulate me to trade with her son I don't know my husband came out of the bathroom before she came back I wasn't gonna sit there waiting for luckily Disney is big enough that I didn't see her for the rest of the day I'm still so confused but at least it didn't get violent and I was able to enjoy the rest of the day without anyone else thinking I was working there thanks for listening have a great day you
