Hey hey hey everyonee! Today we're making foods for ya damn weebs :) Raise your hand if you like Japanese food like mee :))) We're making a main dish and dessert, a non-oven Japanese fluffy cheesecake We'll start with the Jiggly cheesecake first using the recipe that came with the rice cooker from Dreamer which is super convenient First, mash 200g of room temp creamcheese. Remember that it's not cold anymore Put in 40g of room temp unsalted butter and 120g of whipping cream (you can replace it with 90g of non sugar milk + 30g of unsalted butter) Next boil a pot of water on low heat and put the bowl of cream cheese and butter on it (keep it at low heat) Use a whisk to mix it slowly, the heat from the creamcheese will melt the butter and it'll mix eventually When the mixture is smooth, take it off the stove and you don't need to make it boiling hot or anything Put in 50g of cake flour and mix until it's all incorporated You might see the butter starting to seperate but that's fine Crack 4 eggs and seperate the egg yolks and egg whites into different bowls Don't worry if you messed up and some of the yolks get in the whites :) not everyone is perfect like moi After that, pour the yolks in with the creamcheese Whisk it until the yolks are mixed in the batter. The butter won't seperate now so it's nothing to worry your little head about :)) Leave the batter bowl aside for now and let's move on with the egg whites Put the egg whites in a bowl with a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar We're not gonna obliterate our arms this time by using a hand mixer at low speed until big air bubbles start to appear :) In total, this recipe requires 80g of sugar, which I'll use it all for the egg whites. Pour it in 2-3 times in 30sec intervals You should put in the sugar early on so it can dissolve. Start when you see big air bubbles and wait for 30sec and do that until the sugar runs out Jiggly cheesecakes is different from other types of spongecakes/cheesecakes so we're gonna stop at soft peak Next, divide the egg whites into 3 parts and pour in 1/3 of it into the creamcheese batter from earlier Whisk it gently so the batter won't be hurt and cry and it'll be lighter and easier to mix :)) When it's mixed and smooth, pour in the next 1/3 of the batter Use a spatula this time and the folding technique. Remember to fold it confidently and quickly but gently. If you keep being so mean to the batter he'll cry and you'll mess it up :) When it's all smooth again, pour the creamcheese batter into the egg whites bowl Continue folding the batter. The mixture is much lighter now and it's much easier to mix so again, don't worry about it or your brain cells won't be able to handle it and die :( Why are you even worrying so much? Because I AM HERE >:D But I mean, if you fail I'll vanish right away so it's your fault :) The end result will be pretty loose and airy but won't be watery Prep the rice cooker with a light coating of butter. I'm using the Dreamer rice cooker so there's a baking mode. It's super convenient and it's made in Australia There's also different modes for a lot of things like soup, congee, sweet soup even, and everything you can imagine I specifically use this rice cooker for spongcakes like these and it's super fast, much faster than ovens The design is super modern and compact :)) When I first saw it I thought that it's weird because there are no button, but when I plugged it in there was a bajillions buttons on the touchscreen :)) it's a great tool to fool people into thinking you have a lot of money :))) For this recipe, use the cake function for 35min and let it rest for 5min and then continue for 10min. Let it cool in the rice cooker for 15min and you'll have a beautifully delicious cheesecake waiting for its demise in your stomach :))) If you don't have a rice cooker or even if you do, try buying this one. It's both super convenient and beautifully designed It's even on sale for 20% (from 7/11 to 7/12) on Tiki, Lazada and Shopee. Enter the code NINOHOANG for 5% off :) I'll leave the link in the description and on my FB It only took me 50-60min to cook this, usually it'd take 1h30min-2h30min in a oven in a water bath. The cake is super jiggly and smells super good Ya have to cook the rice first or your family won't have anything to eat for dinner and you'd get whooped :)) Try cooking rice in the Dreamer rice cooker. The rice will taste way better compared to normal rice cookers. This rice cooker uses electromagnetic induction technology to heat its inside, helping the rice cook nicely and keep its nutritions. The rice grains will be firm but soft and sweet. It can also save you 60% electricity bills compared to normal rice cookers as well Look at its elegance in my kitchen :)) The Dreamer rice cooker can also let you set a timer for when to cook rice and keep your rice warm for up to 24 hours It is controlled with a touch screen with a lot of cool functions. You can even choose to cook rice high quality or quickly. Cooking good rice has 3 steps: incubation - cooking at high capacity - leave the rice to rest Just leave the rice there for the rice cooker to do all the work :)) Let's move on from the advertising and get on with the Tonkatsu :))) I'll start with bludgeoning my pieces of pork cutlet with the bones removed Next, season it with salt and pepper to taste and leave it to soak aaaaaaaall that goodness in :)) Now, we'll make the crust for the meat. Crack an egg into a bowl with 20ml of milk Whisk until both is well-mixed Continue with pouring 50g of flour, any type is fine For this part, you don't need to have the exact measurements for everything, just have it like as thick as mine here The last ingredient for this is bread crumbss :D After kind of marinating the meat, let the piece of meat go for a dip in the egg pool, then prickle it to death in the breadcrumb bowl :)) Remember to use your hands to really pleasure that piece of meat ᕦ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ᕤ so the breadcrumbs stick to it :))) If the breadcrumbs are being brats, just dip the meat back into the egg mixture and then the breadcrumbs again. The crust will be thiccc and delicious :)))) Now we only need a pan full of oil. You should use small pans with high sides so you can save oil When the oil is hot enough then just plop in the piece of meat Fry it at medium heat for 5-8min depending on the size of the meat and the color you want your crust to be I like it golden brown, it stays crunchy for a long time and smells ungodly good. It's so delicious hehehe :)))) Tadaaa! We're done! Let's eat it with the rice we cooked earlier :)) This rice cooker makes the rice firm but not hard, it's still super soft and I tried cooking the sushi rice in this rice cooker and oh GOD was it good :))) I'm skinny so I can eat as much rice as I can :))) If you're overweight eat less :)) If you don't, don't complain why you're fat to me :))) The outer layer is ultra crunchy, just listen to thatt :))) I'm gonna eat it with chopped lettuce and tomatoes like Japanese do :))) The Tonkatsu sauce you can buy in Japanese supermerkets. If you can't find it, the normal ketchup and chilli sauce would do. Tbh I prefer it with chilli sauce :))) It's just so good :)) I'm gonna eat it with a knife and fork so I look fancy :)) This set of utensils I also bought from Dreamer. It looks really neat :)) The crust is really really crunchy and the taste is just *chef kiss* :) The meat is sweet and not dry at all. Eating it with the sauce is the best thing you can imagine :)))) And now the jiggly cake makes it return :) The cake rised a lot and is super jiggly :)) The cutting sound is soo satisfyinggggg It's the cake screaming bloody murder from me impaling it with my trusty fork :))) The cake is incredibly soft, moist and fatty. It even dissolves in your mouth :)) We're only having Japanese food today :)) But Pussycat still refused to eat it and idk what's wrong with him :)) Were you ever to need a good rice cooker with a high functionality, I highly recommend Dreamer. I've used it and this is my honest review on it It's even 20% off on Tiki, Lazada and Shopee from 7/11 to 7/12
