Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer Tutorial for Beachy Waves

hi beauties welcome back to my channel victoria lee here and today we are back with another video today i'm going to be doing something a little bit different instead of makeup i'm going to be showing you how i do my hair so i have my trusty revlon brush i'm sure many of you have seen before it is my favorite tool i use it every single time i style my hair i used to straighten my hair every single day and then once this came along i never went back so a lot of people have asked me how i use it because i do kind of like a curlish wave to my hair and people have asked me to make a video showing them exactly how i do it so that's what i'm going to be doing today okay so before i actually start my hair is completely natural right now as you can see it's crazy and it's about like mostly dry it's like a little tiny bit damp i find that my hair works better with this tool when my hair is not definitely not soaking wet damp is okay but more on the dryer side i want to show you some products that i use before i get started so i use a bunch of hair products i have a whole stand next to me with just a lot of hair products which you'll see in a video coming soon when i do vanity tour part two because i have a lot of new things since the last time i did one but two products that i've really been liking are from this brand right here kerastay i'm i could be saying that wrong i use this resistance length caring gel cream blow dry care for healthy looking length and it's a leave-in little cream for when you blow dry your hair it says it's for heat styling appliances or hair dryers and that it's a blowout cream for healthy looking wings and as you can see my hair is a bunch of different lengths right now it's definitely taking a hit from all of the dye that i've had in my hair and the bleach and everything so this really helps make it look smooth and all together another thing i've been using the same brand i think they're from the same line but this is the serum instead and it says it's for extremely damaged hair um it's a three or four i've really been liking this for the dryness of my hair every time i dye my hair it gets really brittle and just kind of breaks off and this i can just tell helps the strength of my hair so these are two things that i use before using the revlon which is really important because this has a heat protectant and this is just like a styling cream serum i do suggest if you're going to revel on your hair and you really want the best results to find some type of styling cream i'll show you another one that i use also use this moroccan oil hydrating styling cream it looks like this now all of these three products are a little bit more on the pricey side um if you do want me to do a video where i can find more like drugstore not as high-end hair products let me know i can definitely do that but these are the ones that work the best for me which is why i'm showing you those today i'm just gonna put a little bit of this in my hair before i actually begin to blow dry just to make sure that my hair is definitely going to be protected from all the heat that i'm going to be putting on it and i put about this much rub it together and focus on the ends of my hair and then bring it up perfect now we've done that i'm going to section my hair i know everybody sections their hair differently the way i section my hair is kind of weird but i break it into two like so as evenly as i can and then i always start with my right side of my hair i don't know it's just something that i do i put this side in to like a little bun just so none of that hair that i'm going to be working with right now comes out just using a scrunchie to make a bun on one side and then i clip the other side gradually and i've just been using like these regular little clips that you can get at the dollar store i'm sure amazon probably sells them for like really cheap like packs of them so i've had them for years and i just use those and i just section off pieces as however big that i think i need so about this much and then i'm going to take this part of my hair twist it put it back take my clip and clip it back this is just what works for me this is how i've always sectioned my hair for years so that is that so for those of you who might not be very familiar with the revlon tool this is a hot tool and it's from the brand revlon i know there's a bunch of different brands that sell the same type of model but this is just the one that i use so when you look at the brush you plug it in i honestly have to clean mine i just got a new one actually i had my first one for about a year and then i felt like it started to burn out a little bit started to smell really burny a lot of smoke in the room and i got a new one and now it's back to normal so that is a suggestion i have if you feel like there's a lot of smoke in your room when you're using this and you've had it for a while just get a new one they're really not that bad i can link one in the description below the one that i found it's on amazon i think i paid like 40 for it so i'll link that down below if you're interested in buying it there's four different settings there's off off cool low and high so cool obviously we'll make a cooler high will be the most strength and low will be less strength just like a regular hair dryer so i personally use high just because i have really thick hair so i'm going to get started and since it's going to be hard for me to kind of talk while using this because it's very loud i'm going to show you first how i do it without turning on the actual revlon and then i can also do some like voice over just so i can like show you what i'm doing so i just want to show you the overall motion before i even turn this on so even though i sectioned my hair i still just take one section and i put it through the brush starting at the top of my hair and while it's on i just start to slowly glide it through only halfway once i get about halfway i just take the brush and i start to twist it like so now when the heat's on and i do this this creates a really nice waving curl which i will show you and the reason that i just don't go all the way through like brush it all the way through when the heat is on is because once it's straight it's not going to give you that nice curl that you want do it one more time i start up from the root and i just go a little bit down curl down and then once i get about halfway i start to twist the hair like so all right so i'm going to turn on the heat and i'm going to start and then i'm going to stop go through some things that i do and then we'll be all done [Music] okay so before i continue i just wanted to stop and point out that as you can see i did go over that a bunch of times because i want to make sure that that root is dry so if you have to go over that root a couple of times that's fine another trick that i learned is when you style your hair with heat and you take the heat off you can actually use your finger as a tool to get a really nice wave so once the heat is on it allows your hair it like activates your hair for styling so using your finger to twist actually makes a really nice wave so you'll be seeing me do that a lot during this video and that's why it's a really good trick [Music] soundstripe [Music] sound stripe [Music] sound [Music] sounds [Music] so when i get to those short pieces around my ear or near my ear you'll see that i do have to go over them a bunch of times just to make it so that my hair isn't very staticky or frizzy so you'll see that i go over my short pieces many times so i did want to mention that when you get to the shorter pieces of your hair like i am right here it's easy to point the revlon upward so that it gives you the most volume and really makes that sleek look for your hair [Music] [Music] soundstripe [Music] sounds [Music] sounds okay so this is the first half of my hair done only with revlon you guys just saw i used nothing else but this beautiful tool here just by twisting it i got these nice bouncy wavy curly pieces that look really natural but also like very volumized and really nice i'm gonna go do the other side of my hair just like i did this side and then i'll be back all right so i am done that took about 15 minutes to finish the whole head and this is the final result this is what the back looks like hopefully you can see that this is how i style my hair using only the revlon this is the only thing i use heat wise nothing else and i love it it's really become such a lifesaver i am shocked that for so many years i was blow drying my hair with a blow dryer every single day and going over with a strainer it's just so much heat and so much damage and then a tool like this comes along and just changes the game totally recommend this tool it's definitely less damaging than what i was doing before at least and even if you want to go in with like a curler and add some curls you could do that i like the wavy look a little bit better than the actual curly look but you know on occasion i will curl it and if i'm feeling a little bit like i want to do a straighter look and also do this for a sleek straight blouse so let me know if that's something else you would like to see and i could definitely make a video like that now to finish the hair off i could put some products on it if i wanted to a lot of times i just put in like a little tiny bit of hairspray um or a shine spray so let me show you two options okay so these are the two things that i use most frequently after blow drying my hair either this hairspray with sleek and shine hairspray is the 24 hour hold anti-humidity which i need i know i live in new york and it's cold right now but any type of humidity in my hair is done so um this is the ultra strong hold and it's a four so i'm actually gonna use just a little bit of that like when i say a little bit that's it because i don't like when my hair gets crunchy or anything but this one smells great and it doesn't do the crunch thing or i have this extra shrink argan oil of morocco dry oil shine mist so this just makes your hair like a little bit more shiny but the two products that i use today that i showed you in the beginning of video do a really good job of making my hair soft as well as like bouncy and shiny so i don't feel like i need this today but if i did feel like i need this like sometimes in the summer when my hair feels more dry and stuff i definitely will use that i really hope that this video was helpful i did
