what's going on guys bengal again here today gonna be rebuilding the carolina panthers they're a team with a lot of potential i really like their 2021 nfl draft class and of course one of my favorite players in the league is brian burns and he is the star of the defense super young super talented and only continuing to improve unreal player and there's some also there's some great players on offense christian mccaffrey dj moore robbie anderson there's a lot to work with on this team but let's go ahead and talk about the roster as a whole get into this video because the main focus of this is what do we do with sam darnold the team made a big trade for him in the off season and they think he could be their guy the future well we're gonna find out so uh of course we're gonna talk about this team but first off i would really like to thank you guys for all the support on this channel started the new madden season started football being back the support has been amazing so many new subscribers so thank you guys for hitting the subscribe button in waves if you are new to this channel but a lot more rebuilds to come this is only my second one so far did the texans to start off so this is only number two and i think it's a fun team to do as well because you have a lot of young talent i think the main problem is just gonna be figuring out what to do at quarterback darnold is only 24 years old but he's also only a 71 overall normal development not the best but with the weapons that we have to work with robbie anderson dj moore david moore's not the best terrace marshall at some point could maybe end up taking over i actually like him quite a bit and i like tommy tremble quite a bit he's gonna start at tight end he's only one overall lower than dan arnold we have two arnold's on this team tommy tremble's gonna start star development we're better but it's gonna be star let's be real it's gonna be a great start for him gonna be a great start he should be very awesome and then in the offensive line it isn't amazing i think would rather start greg little than cameron irving just because of age 29 versus probably what 24 for greg little 23 only still matt paradis solid enough starting center taylor moton's great but i believe playing on the franchise tag if i'm not mistaken i believe he's playing the franchise tech no he signed a massive extension hmm i don't know why i thought he got franchise stagnant but he signed a massive extension i suppose and then defensively there's a lot to work with like i love davion nixon i thought their draft class was just great and the biggest part of that is jc horn he's going to end up starting this season i'm going to trade aj boyer we have jeremy chin who is great hassan reddick signed with the panthers don't know if he's going to be here long but i hope so shaq thompson he's way older than you'd think like to me shaq thompson like i i don't know he feels young but he's been in the league for a while now i guess 27 is not that old i thought he was like 29 but he's been around for a while now like he was a rookie in 2015 but he's just not a player that feels old i guess because you're always waiting for him to break out but he's just been solid for a while now and then like you have josh bynes who's not great i'll probably opt to start with denzel perriman justin burris could be better maybe we move rashaan melvin to safety we're going to need a safety either way but we have yutergos matos is going to start over i think it's morgan fox it is morgan fox but i want you two gross matos there derek brown's sick dequan jones is okay and then of course brian burns is unbelievable i don't actually have to trade for him because i get to start with them and he is not leaving this team no matter what chuba hubbard's a solid backup as well this is just a really solid draft class you know what i almost want to start brady christensen it's just because he's a utah guy byu he's just so old i feel like he should be closer to a 70 overall to be honest i liked him quite a bit but uh he is a little bit lower but there's there's potential here let me go ahead and try and trade aj boyier maybe shaq thompson as well i actually wouldn't mind trading to quan jones as well just to get davion nixon some more reps david moore's on the block as well because like maybe terrace marshall some more reps and there are some teams that are going to trade for these guys they don't have a bunch of value but there's some decent value here wow we can almost get a first round pick next year but we're just not able to what if i took out david moore and added like a current sixth maybe a fourth will do it don't really need the fourth too badly a third probably gets it done we don't have a second round pick this year all right it's going to be aj boyie daquan jones and a third this year for a first next year for a fum from the chargers i just don't see either of those guys in the long term future of this team so i'm obviously trying to get better trying to get younger so i think that those players were important to trade get davion nixon involved get jc horn starting right away and david moore probably ended up getting traded as well it's like who can i package him with though maybe josh bynes okay trading matt paradis for james daniels i like paradis he's only a 78 overall with normal development he's just he wasn't gonna be the long-term starter at center so what i did go out and do is actually pick up a center james daniels listed at guard he played center at iowa some he's definitely a really good interior offensive lineman star dev super young and i think a fine center of the future for us so the fact that we can just straight swap like that is pretty awesome and it's like right guard still isn't good but that was something we needed to do get better get younger 31-23 only one or only two overall points less because he goes down to a 76 at center and he has star dev it's a move that's definitely going to be great long term even if it's not like perfect now at the end of the season it's going to pay off and then david moore denzel perriman and a fifth gets us a second round pick from the giants the thought process with this is denzel perriman's actually 28. he's another guy who you figure like if you would have told me that denzel perryman is older than shaq thompson i probably wouldn't have believed you but it is it's the case it's true kind of weird but uh i think it was important to trade those guys again get some of our younger players more involved i wanted to get rid of rashawn melvin as well but no one wants him this is the team i think we've gotten slightly worse in some areas but improved our long-term outlook so i'm actually pretty happy with things that we've done so far this is the way our team's going to shape up reddick and burns as rush ends derek browning your tur gross matos up the middle shaq thompson as our main sub linebacker josh bynes in there as well we're not gonna be great this year we might be okay but i will see you guys at the mid season mark check in mid season mark we are in 80 overall five and two kill it with sam darnold i imagine christian mccaffrey is going off that would be my guess but uh let's see who's gonna be a free agent at the end of the year because i could potentially trade these guys right now robbie anderson hassan reddick dante jackson james daniels wow robbie anderson at 28 is really not a good guy to hang on to like he's good but he's only going to regress from this point going forward and he wants a big big contract i have to trade robbie anderson i know that's going to be unpopular and he's a player i kind of would want to hold on to but he's 28 he's 28 years old the age of regression so am i really going to give a four-year contract worth 13 million annually to a 28 year old who's gonna be 29 only getting worse i can't do it i can't do it i gotta trade them is there anyone else i can package in with robbie anderson i'm gonna try and get a first round pick back from this kind of like when the giants traded odell beckham jr what is shaq thompson's contract that's another thing i know i'm kind of butchering the team right now sometimes that's just how it goes also that message pops up one more time i'm going to freak out which it probably will so i'm going to try to keep my cool i guess who has one year remaining that's good so robbie anderson let me check out shaq thompson's contract he is he has three years remaining what are these oh that's so odd he's getting paid so much money next year in the year after that that is really not good do i just trade shaq thompson i know it's gonna be like this isn't a rebuild you're just taking down the team yeah i mean hey sometimes in order to rebuild it you gotta knock it down first even though it's not a team that really needs to do anything other than keep their guys and develop based on you know how regression works in this game robby anderson just has to be traded it'd be a really bad idea to sign him through 2022 2023 2024 and 2025 he's only going to accept a four-year contract so to get let's see here so this is 28 29 year old robbie anderson this is 29 30 30 31 31 32 and then 32 33 year old robbie anderson that we're going to be paying upwards of 13 million dollars no i'm just not doing that now shaq thompson probably does get over an 80 overall and holds like 81 maybe even 82. he's definitely good he's not worth the money we're going to be paying him [Music] if if i can find a good trade package that involves shaq thompson it's gonna happen it's gonna happen jack thompson robbie anderson and a seventh gets us a first round pick from the eagles next year and i gotta say at least shaq thompson they just kind of feel like eagles players as a giants fan i know i'm named bengal a lot of people are finding out i'm a giants fan for the first time right now um i i'm familiar with eagles players feel like they just kind of they have that feel to them i don't know why so it's good to get them off this team but no uh yeah i know we have a good record five and two the record's kind of whatever in mad and sim i'll be honest i don't want to read too much into it i'm trying to build a really good team and for the future i had to make those moves i know the team looks worse than it than it was moments ago but i think it had to happen and honestly i'm not too far away from trading sam darnold i thought about it at the deadline i'm gonna keep him slightly longer he's having a really good year but that's a product of the playbook he's got two years remaining i'm not paying him that in 2022 so pretty much right now the plan is to find his replacement whether through the draft or elsewhere and get rid of him for a pick hopefully but we're gonna sit in the playoffs do we make the playoffs where can i see our schedule i don't see us in the playoffs unless we get a first round bye are we in the playoffs no it looks like we collapsed i guess you could say robbie anderson and jack thompson contributed to that i doubt it oh yeah we're scheduled our records in the bottom right when seven and ten that honestly seems closer to how good we are i think we definitely over performed to five and two like the steelers last year i guess or uh who's another team that did that steelers were most notable but uh let's go ahead and check out the stats and awards as sam darnold did not have a bad year 4 200 yards passing 36 touchdowns to only eight picks christian mccaffery was nuts 16 50 yards 18 touchdowns he was insane christian mccaffrey was unreal and i assume he did a ton receiving as well yeah led the team in receiving about 1200 yards and seven touchdowns dj moore was decent tommy tremble was pretty good for rookie terrace marshall was pretty good defensively jc horn had 103 tackles and two picks tacos for loss 14 from by brian burns also had 15 and a half sacks nine first on reddick seven after derrick brown five and a half from gross mottos pretty much none from anybody else interceptions three for troy pride jr led the way chin horn and franklin all with two and then force fumbles two for the entire year defensive touchdowns one for jeremy chin and then yearly awards is lamar jackson winning mvp very interesting afc offense player of the year is lamar jackson we are in the nfc though as christian mccaffrey shockingly to no one takes home offensive player of the year darnold at 10 defensive player of the year khalil mack brian burns at seven offensive rookie here is justin fields a few panthers in there and then defense rookie here is xavin collins jc horn at number two off season time we'll check out the recap real quick as the ravens defeat the packers in the super bowl mark jackson wins super bowl mvp coach of the year goes to arthur smith of the falcons hilo mack defense player of the year nashi harris offensive rookie of the year and of course saw david collins a little bit earlier but it's off season time off season time i don't think we need to change a whole lot on offense we're just like filling in some of the gaps here our offense was really good our defense was not good our defense was really bad but that's okay because no one said this was going to happen overnight going into year two we just need to have a super strong off season and that could start with free agency we have a ton of money we have a ton of money davonte adams is here von miller chris godwin is here ooh i think chris godwin is going to be my biggest target i didn't see the area to resign guys like usual oh my goodness i let players slip into free agency that i really did not want to all right well not only do we have to go after chris godwin i gotta bring dante jackson back jesus and i also have to bring back who else did i let slip in a free agency here it was somebody else hassan reddick as well who's up to superstar development you're kidding me overpaying to try and get some of my own players back really sucks and we didn't get all of them back did not did not get all of them back we got james daniels back chris godwin declines hassan reddick declines we got will hernandez we got chris barnes and dante jackson declined uh hey you know what a little road bump might make for a more entertaining video as we try to get around uh that mistake i can't i really can't believe that i've never made that mistake in 100 rebuilds of previous games oh man new starting mike linebacker love to see that with chris barnes super young packers didn't want him we will take him we will take chris barnes no hassan reddick is tough no dante jackson's tough oh no chris barnes or no no chris godwin shoot all right well i'm a little bit annoyed davonte adams is still available could bring in casey hayward for a year we're offering devante adams a massive contract the fact that he's still available is wild to me so we're gonna try and pay and recruit him to carolina that's a big upgrade over robbie anderson for obviously a little bit more expensive but it'd be huge if we were able to get him and we get both devonte adams and casey hayward so i guess it's kind of like um what i want to say here it's kind of like a blessing in disguise we would not have been able to afford devante adams if we kept hassan reddick and dante jackson and davonte adams is really good is he more valuable than hassan reddick and dante jackson maybe maybe not but this is what this is what happened so we're dealing with it nfl draft time what do we do with sam darnold i haven't seen the draft board at all this is still in the game hopefully this is out by the uh actual release patch i assume it will be but this is still you know before the game's even out and there are some decent players adrian carr out of florida looks amazing don't really need a receiver could use a quarterback we know about two of them alan russell and luke hopkins luke hopkins appears to be better might take him lorenzo love is a pretty sick name i'm not gonna lie channing norton looks pretty good here we are pick number nine and what's available what is available a couple of really good players i really like the look of glenn mcleod he's supposedly a late first round pick but he looks really really good there's a safety right in behind him nigel mckay who's an early first rounder i guess he's just a better athlete still really good top skills but that quarterback luke hopkins it's about middle of the pack there i think he's gonna fall in the draft so here's what i'm gonna do harold walden didn't look too bad either i'm gonna take the safety i think nigel mckay it's a big position to need like i liked the cornerbacks they looked okay nothing crazy i liked heath harris in the second i could always take him as well but i'm gonna go nigel mckay here at oregon state we're gonna hopefully trade back up for the quarterback and we got the number one player in the entire draft in nigel mckay 79 overall star or better development we took him in number nine that's great value 96 speed for him 76 zone 76 pursuit 69 tackle nice good man coverage what a player what a player i think that was definitely worth it and now if we can use and there are the lions are if we can use sam darnold to move back up in the draft we're gonna do it yeah we're certainly gonna call the lions about this pick and offer up sam darnold look at his monster cat pit does he have green value at any team he does the saints cannot afford him and they don't have a pick that we want the vikings cannot afford him they've already picked don't care for that the broncos can't afford them they've also already picked okay that's our trade we're giving up i mean this is pretty fair i guess sam darnold morgan fox and a second next year for number 19 from the eagles it was really as close as i could get but number 19 clearly isn't number 10 where this quarterback potentially will be now like i don't know it's kind of tough to say if you actually look at the draft board like he's not going to go for a little while but is he going to make it to my pick at 19. i'm gonna say i'm gonna say yes we're gonna say he's available at 19. let's see please tell me he's available there he is luke hopkins out of cal i think he's our guy younger than darnold looks pretty athletic 4-5-1 but he also has the arm we don't know about the arm accuracy though that's gonna be the big thing he's a 75 overall number 17 we took him at 19 only normal development but is younger than darnold is a higher overall than sam darnold just remains to be seen 91 speed by the way remains to be seen how he's going to develop you're really hoping for a better development trait than normal but that'll do for right now here in the second round anyone still available heath harris is the safety that i liked evan colbert evan colbert might be the one he's a really really talented lineman we're going to take him evan colbert 76 overall ranked number eight normal dev but he's plug and play he's going to start at the o line immediately 90 strength 80 run block 81 pass block could be looking at a guard there could move james daniels back to guard but i think i like him as a guard still one player left in my draft board it's mike bryson the receiver he ran fast 435 welcome to the team because of that ranked number 54 segment 122. 93 speed decent route runner honestly really not that bad that'll be good depth taking another offensive lineman here just good to have depth again it's not too bad not great not much of a run blocker i'll say that about him i would say we did pretty well in the draft three players at 75 overall or higher and how does that compare to the rest of the league how many good players were in this draft class well we get the best player by a lot we got the best player by a lot not too bad heath harris looked pretty good i was gonna take him in the second round but opted to go with the center instead i still would do it it's just we needed offensive line more than we needed another safety we have jeremy chin drafted a safety in the first i was not gonna double dip on safety it just wasn't gonna happen so i'm actually really really happy with how this went we're gonna go ahead and move somebody over to guard i think i think evan colbert i forgot we signed will hernandez honestly but culber's still significantly better than pat elfline we're gonna move colbert a guard james daniels might be a little bit faster he's not all right well that makes it even easier evan colbert to guard i think you got to be a little bit faster play guard in general not always but it helps when you pull you don't really see centers pull too often so evan colbert to left guard he's going to start over pat elfline and now our offensive line is actually starting to come together a little bit left tackle still isn't great but the offensive line is definitely better devonte adams and dj moore is a pretty good receiver combo and then nigel mckay is gonna start at strong safety feels like a perfect fit for him he's gonna fly around with jeremy chin we have chris barnes outside linebacker's looking pretty brutal but that's just how it's gonna be for right now i tried to sign young wei ku in free agency he didn't want to do that and is patrick ricard in here as well he's not there's only one fullback i'm looking for what outside linebackers not jpp patrick awasso and jordan hicks could do the job pj goodson's 29 um yeah we just need some guys to come in and actually do a job so let's get let's get patrick owasso and jordan hicks they're really not gonna be too bad out there they're not anything special but they're quality players of course hook'em horns jordan hicks so this is the team for season two i like it a lot i think we're better than we were last year which is the goal of these just get better every year and owasso and jordan hicks are gonna fit in really really nicely secondary is looking good like casey hayward is a fill-in player for right now and then i guess this is how we're going to be set up i don't really have a problem with that but maybe it would be nice to have jordan hicks in there yeah that looks about good to me so i think that's what we're gonna rock with adam's more marshall at receiver a line looking good and then defensively everything's where i want it to be so let's uh let's have a good year i'll see you guys at the mid-season mark not going to forget to uh sign any free agents this year or pending free agents we're playing pretty well right now offensive points per game second past yards per game sixth rush yards per game third defense points per game eighth we're allowing a lot of pass yards and about average in terms of rushing yards allowed but overall playing well defense needs to step up if we are really going to be a good team but overall playing quite well playing quite well we got a couple big free agents here dj moore and brian burns as i mentioned earlier there's no way they're getting away just no way brian burns is back all right domino number one false dj moore is number two give him a little bit more money and he wants more salary don't we all dj don't we all sometimes you just gotta suck it up and and re-sign okay young wei ku wants more money dude a lot of selfish players on this team all right who all has one year remaining i mean we're not going to trade owasso or hicks there's no point cameron irving is no value dan arnold no value charlton no value greg little probably not i think we're just gonna be fine i like the way the team's performing no reason to uh change that up this time around up the salary for dj more i think he's going to resign this time and he does young wake who still wants more money better know your place boy greg little is still young enough and he's still cheap enough to be extremely valuable to me so we're going to sign greg little to a five-year extension i think it's worth it i think it's worth it if we keep him and he gets up to like a 78.80 overall in the next three years it's like that's fine we don't really need a whole lot more than that and we're also 7-0 by the way i just realized 7-0 and our defense really isn't even playing all that well things are going very well i'm tempted to change the defensive playbook i know we're 7-0 and our defense is playing pretty well but what if we change to a playbook of a team that's playing really really well we're undefeated we're the only team in the nfl that's undefeated the cowboys always play so well the cowboys just crush all right what about team defense points allowed can i see points per game allowed doesn't show it but chose points but some teams have played a different amount of games you'd figure the chargers steelers have a lot of sacks the chargers might be a team that we try out they're seven and one we're just play the rest of the year not gonna change anything a lot of these rebuilds at the start of the year i figure out whose playbooks are good and who's or not and we learn that like knowledge going forward and we use that going forward so not gonna do anything just yet also seeing week 18 is still throwing me off we would finish 13 and four i thought we were nine and eight i go wow what a collapse 13 and four though we have an 88 overall offense love to see that the lions are killing it in the rebuild so far nine and eight in 2022 like that's that's pretty solid that's pretty solid we'll check out the season stats let's see how we did the offense killed it oh my god luke hopkins says set the record for passing yards into season by a rookie he's demolished the touchdown record by a rookie 46 46 luke hopkins please 8.7 yards per attempt as well mccaffrey 1700 yards rushing five per carry 14 tds chuba hubbard was all right receiving mccaffrey killed it devonte adams killed it terrace marshall had 10 touchdowns dj moore was an afterthought he was fifth in receiving yards on this team that's insane defensively chris barnes had 122 tackles three for loss 17 from derrick brown your tur gross matos had 12 sacks 11 and a half for brian burns nine and a half for derrick brown great year chris barnes three picks pride and mckay the rookie three picks as well and he had 81 tackles half a sack pretty good year pretty good year a lot more forced fumbles this year double we had last year even though it's only four we just crushed it yearly awards camaro wins mvp mccaffrey at three i'm surprised to see luke hopkins so low he was so unbelievable offensive player of the year's camaro mccaffrey and hopkins at three and four defense player of the year is aaron donald no panthers in there offensive rookie the year lou hopkins of course and the defense rookie the year is quentin burnham mckay at two defensively the chargers allowed so few points chargers defense gotta be the wave because i'm sure their offense held them back yeah you look at points per game i mean where are the chargers on here middle of the pack their defense was unreal top five in sacks they were is that fifth yeah fifth in interceptions chargers defense has got to be what we try in year three it looks really really good playoff bracket we are the the three seed facing off against the lions i was looking for us for a second we'll see how it goes 13 and 4 no first round bye kind of wild but the cowboys also went 13-4 and that's exactly who we're facing in the divisional crush the lions 43-21 and we'll see if we can just beat the cowboys i don't usually do super sim unless it's a conference championship or the super bowl and we are not involved we lost 20 to seven offense just totally disappeared and our playoff hopes fall come to an end at the hands of the dallas cowboys upgrade players i'd love to see a ton for luke hopkins and star dev show me star dev let's go luke hopkins star dev for winning qb of the year offensive rookie of the year and we're gonna do field general for him we already know he's a scrambler we don't need those attributes to get any higher we need him to improve as a passer i say that ironically because his season was so so amazing as a passer that was uh that was wild who do we need to resign for sure no one really owasso and hicks down to 70 overall they regress five yeah they they got killed they got killed that's why you can't have players who are 30. perfect example young waku in a test free agency i mean it costs nothing to franchise tag i'm just not going to do that it's so much cheaper to sign these guys out of free agency so i'm actually fine with letting everybody walk we played really really well and before i forget i am going to try out the los angeles chargers playbook it seemed unreal also did anyone get upgraded dj morris had superstar i believe and then defensively derek brown up to superstar love that love that mckay only had superstar or only had star excuse me that's kind of sad but star isn't bad it's just you know your number one overall pick you hope for something a little bit higher or number one overall player in the draft i should say okay so going into free agency we're focusing on defense we need three guys in the front seven i would take another inside linebacker and then two edge rushers really i mean it doesn't have to be could be like a d tackle to play you know four three or three four left end uh we could use another edge rusher burns got moved back to outside linebacker they fixed the stats so outside linebackers actually play like outside linebackers and three four defenses now joey bose had 15 sacks i checked so we're gonna try out the chargers playbook which is that base three four with brandon staley so going into free agency we need two pass rushers for sure and maybe an inside linebacker who's here tyree kill would be nice we don't need him don't need rogers to darius smith to play left end is intriguing he's 30 but he's good is he better than matt ionitis for his age for his development trait probably yes marcus davenport could potentially play outside linebacker for me he could do that man zadarius smith wants a lot of money no way the giants are meeting that all right huge free agency we didn't get marcus davenport or greedy williams we ended up going after we did get zadari smith and max crosby young way coo also is going to be a panther again so i'm actually happy with who declined versus who signed because we got max crosby ends and darius smith max crosby we got for nothing he was being so undervalued as a 26 year old with star dev 80 overall being extremely undervalued and i basically overpaid to get him even though i didn't because he's so cheap for his position and he could stay at left end but i think i like zadarius smith better on the line i really think i do and maybe maybe i push utergross matos out to right outside linebacker because i can he has some pretty good speed on him he's got some pretty good speed also zadaria smith is absolutely giving me uh south carolina clowney vibes just looking at him with the single digit number he just reminds me of south carolina clowney so if we can get that type of a player it's going to be sick is there anyone else i want in free agency i want to hold on to a little bit of money so i don't want to go too crazy here but i think we're good i really think we're good and i guess the plan right now maybe jack fox would be good to have for cheap if i can do it the plan for right now is draft a corner or i mean i'm still looking at linebacker whether it's you know a 3-4 outside linebacker or a 3-4 inside linebacker someone that's playing off-ball versus on it i'm looking for either of those type of player either of those types of player we'll see did get jack fox time to cut my back up kicker and punter that i have no use for oh and we had the number one overall pick that's pretty nice who is that from i wonder either way it worked out big time we're not even looking at quarterback really why would we but there are some really good ones but we don't need them don't eat them this dude's name is justice pope and i demand justice after what some of these popes have been up to it's disgusting but seem to be some decent off the ball linebackers mike callaway is okay greg cooper looks pretty good mike callaway might be joining the team what are my offers for the number one overall pick not a ton honestly but i don't want to hold on to it there's no point for me there's no point because we don't need anyone at this spot okay trade is done it's number one number 28 and a second round pick next year which shouldn't be very valuable at all for number five and number 12. so to me i would rather have number five and number 12 here 28's too late number one's too early i'll take two right in the middle and we'll throw in a second round pick i think that definitely makes sense for me to do i like darnell dinard here at a stanford good third corner for me maybe eventual starter 77 overall ranked number four in the class took him at number five good speed good man coverage no good development trait but definitely solid and mike callaway is going to be my pick here makes too much sense need another linebacker he seems amazing and he is very solid number six in the draft class segment number 12 76 overall unfortunately also only normal development but amazing speed and tackling and pursuit and acceleration and strength definitely a really really solid linebacker normal dev unfortunate now at number 25 we don't pick for a while so we need to make this one count oh greg ash is the guy i looked at him he's unreal might be the best player in the entire class and i forgot about him 21 years old power rusher at a tcu ross black lock anyone or at least what people thought ross ross black like was going to trading a three and a four and a four next year for a second round pick from the bengals and that's going to do it for the draft see the draft recap it felt like a pretty strong draft class based on our picks we've got some really good players and they weren't close to highest overall number one was the receiver garrison newberry he's good i looked at him never considered him because they got the two top players in the class never considered him because i was not going to take a receiver we got the third best player overall so i'd like to see that and greg ash so two top six players in the class and by callaway i think we did pretty well we're going to set up the specialist like this except i'll probably put dj more in the slot this year really like the way things are looking gross matos and crosby are great backups to have as rushers and then we're we're gonna have uh ash here greg ash be a starting rush d tackle even though he's behind derek brown on the depth chart i think he's better for that position so darius smith and brian burns on the edge this defense now looks amazing in my opinion well it's trending towards that way we need corners still to develop and casey hayward's not the guy long term but the team looks really really good in my opinion again the only thing i'm going to do here is move dj moore to slot corner we're an 85 overall i believe offense and defense just across the board 85 we should be pretty awesome i didn't even talk about shai smith i like shy smith as a player but um just he's not going to feature in this video probably let's be real oh i misread that we're an 88 offense 85 defense 86 overall and based on the playbook changed defensively i think we're gonna be unbelievable if the offense could even come close to what it did last year and if the defense can now rise and become better we're gonna be the best team in the league and hopefully that is backed up here at the mid-season mark we are four and three well that's not what we're looking for not at all what's going on here can i see can i see where we stand in terms of the rest of the league no okay i mean just hopefully we have a better second half we're not doing badly right now we're just not doing that well and we do have a couple of big free agents gross matos is going to be a tough decision definitely want to bring back derrick brown and jeremy chin casey hayward's 33 don't really have a need for him but i don't think i'm going to trade him just because i like his value to actually helping us compete right now chin's back long term derek brown's gonna be back long term just way too good to let go and derrick brown's back and then gross matos is gonna be a game time decision i think don't really want to think about that too much right now if i'm forced to make a decision right now i'm gonna say probably leaning towards yes we're gonna offer him but i you know i don't know show me a good dev trait for greg ash don't know it yet we're about halfway there we'll find out by the end of the year and we made the wild card round to the playoffs at 11 and 6. so we did definitely have a better second half can i see the schedule here let's see definitely played really really well and we beat them 28-24 the saints went 13-4 three teams from the south making the playoffs the saints have a good team too 89 offense 85 defense 87 overall 89 offenses crazy high we're gonna see if we can beat them and advance the conference championship and we don't 42-24 we come up short in the divisional again again dude 17th in terms of defensive yards allowed what about for points the chargers disappeared down the list interesting 62 sacks for the bucks what oh that's some loud thunder i don't know if you guys heard that um chargers dropped a lot i don't know i'm gonna stick with it our defense uh rush yards per game was a lot better we're still allowing a lot through the air i think we just need to improve our secondary to help that out so we're gonna look to do that we're gonna look to do that but it is time to resign players i have to make a decision about gross mottos and i have to make a decision about who there's one other one in here who i think i was gonna let go right casey hayward down to an 80. gross motto's up to an 80. troy pride jr is actually like our third best corner right now maybe he's our fourth well if tayward leaves i don't know but gross matos isn't bad he's just not that good could we do better yeah but just because we could doesn't mean we will he's probably not going to be super expensive it's probably going to be in our best interest to resign him as luke hopkins is up to superstar dev that's pretty good that is pretty good and then defensively chris barnes is up to superstar brian burns is up to superstar x factor the fire burns he's killing it he's killing it yeah we need we need better corners that's top priority now i could move zadarius smith back to outside linebacker his overall is a little bit higher out there and i could move gross mottos back to end what happens if we do that cause darius smith when we sign him was like a super high overall outside linebacker and i liked him better in the line he's an 89 overall so plus two there even with morale had morale at the other position too and we don't necessarily even need gross mottos because like greg ash could either play d tackle or move to end he could move to right end and be really good in that role gross matos is a little expensive i like him though it's a tough decision it really is it really is uh it really is tough it really is tough i'm gonna offer him and he's back okay that's all right i think that was the move i think that was the move just gives us a bit of versatility and we can even trade him i don't know that i'd want to after giving him that contract but you know what it probably probably worth it to neil hunter's and free agency too significantly more expensive but really good stefan gilmore might be worth signing here offering a one-year deal for stefan gilmore doesn't really make sense to offer him a lot more than that since that's like one of the loudest uh thunder bolts i've he has more value than zadaria smith as he's significantly younger 27 versus 31 number 13 which we just acquired in order to trade and then a sixth round pick for number two we have moved around a lot but i really really really think this is gonna be worth it i really do tavarius friar out of ohio state looks amazing just looks amazing welcome to the team 81 overall and he's the number two player in the class at 81 overall probably tied for first superstar development maybe you'd like to think with an 81 overall or x factor but it's probably going to be star 92 speed 81 man 83 zone 95 acceleration crazy play wreck jumping decent good awareness block sheds not quite all the way there we just traded up a ton but i think we got our lockdown corner of the future now is there any possible way i can move up to get this other corner i don't think so but he looks really really good this dude's name is john money this is a draft class full of names i'll tell you that much derek brooks hall of fame linebacker for the tampa bay bucks well this one out of florida state the only like big difference is this one's 6-3 derek brooks i think was like 5 11 or 6 foot and also went to florida state this is a draft class of names again i will say that much if that other cornerback makes it to the broncos pick i'll make a move but if not we don't really need him so much the quarterback went and if he gets past the texans again i'll try and make a move but he'll probably go to the texan he doesn't all right i'll see what i can do then i promised okay two first round picks yet to done 21 and 27 just like that probably should have tried to trade less but i don't have a lot to trade so we really we've given our draft class away and am i crazy enough to call it worth it depends on this corner obviously but i think i think there's some potential here he is an 80 overall number five in the class star or better development 95 speed 80 man 78 zone also nuts really really good so far this is looking like clearly the best draft class i've seen of madden 22 not that i've seen a lot of them but it's like it's very obvious i don't even know what to do with the team right now we just went crazy we just went super crazy and i mean the team definitely looks really really good because of it if you check out the defense i mean there's no way these guys are not starting what do we do with dinard i don't know i have to remove some positions around like yeah i get that trading max crosby wasn't ideal but i think it makes the rest of the team so much better and i'm gonna move greg fat ash to uh to uh left then where i think he's gonna fit in pretty well 78 overall there is the team not better now and he's a scheme fit is the team not better i think it is but what do we do with friar and jefferson jefferson playing up with morale friar playing down but he's like you can only take one corner i'm the guy weird i mean we have three awesome corners now yeah friar in the slot makes sense to me i just i think we should trade dinard but what do we trade him for we might just hold on to him for now honestly the one last thing i might want to do is just sign a backup running back we got rid of chuba he had a lot of value it made a lot of sense to move him at the time it really did we're in 89 offense 87 defensive 88 overall really sick team but a backup devante adams and dj more 99 and 95 terrace marshall's approaching the 80s tommy trembles up to 86. some of this is being affected by morale don't get me wrong even look at colbert casual 85 overall love that defensively show me that rookie they're both superstar x factor they're both superstar x factor oh my god what the hell i just didn't expect anything close to that that is unreal that's unreal oh that's so sick we absolutely made the right call by moving up for both these guys that is so nuts oh that's so sick what do you even do with that i mean that's just like not anything i was speed at 93 i mean still really fast nuts just nuts i mean maybe the best front seven player we'll go after like we have money we've managed the money pretty well uh i mean we don't really need any of these guys honestly like david bakhtiari makes sense but on defense like no one no one amazing that we have absolutely cannot miss out on we'll try to beef up the o-line maybe david bakhtiari rejects okay you know what he could do is get crazy sign justin simmons and move jeremy chin to linebacker we got justin simmons i'm gonna do it i'm gonna do it i mean jeremy chin was basically a linebacker for the panthers last year you know you know a lot of the time not always but i mean he's got the profile for it 6'3 221 he's not he's not some little safety so jeremy chin to middle linebacker that's unfair our defense is so good now he's a pretty big upgrade over callaway 291 overall middle linebackers now with morale that's going to come down and then justin simmons at free safety is awesome this team's nuts i don't know how i'm going to beat this nfl draft time we don't really have a ton of picks we kind of did what the houston texans did and just completely banked on being successful
