almost 3 years after his Adventure in margrave Jack Reacher continues to travel around and help people in need all of a sudden he receives a secret message from his friend Francis Ney a former member of the 110 special investigations unit which Reacher LED she informs him that one of their team members Calvin France has been murdered and Reacher needs to come to New York without hesitation Jack heads there to investigate the case during his journey Reacher recalls all the members of the unit Carla Dixon Tony Swan Stan Lowry Jorge Sanchez Manuel Orosco David odonnell Calvin fron and Francis nly when Jack meets Nei she shows him the files on Fran's murder he went missing about a week ago and was then tortured and thrown from a helicopter Francis tried calling other members of their team but couldn't get through jack suggests they go see Fran's Widow Angela and his son m n he quickly notices a black car parked nearby and a bald man spying on them there's also another suspicious man Trevor copian watching them Francis and Jack call David O'Donnell and leave a voicemail asking him to call them back from Angela they find out that France was a private investigator and before his death their house was ransacked she also gives them the keys from his office to search for any other Clues Trevor keeps an eye on them and reports everything to his boss Shane Langston Reacher and Ne visit Fran's office and find it looted they realize Calvin may have hidden something important in a safe deposit box at the United States Post Office so they go there and find his flash drive Reacher decides that he needs a gun goes to some slums and Robs a drug dealer meanwhile an unknown man arrives at Los Angeles airport pursuing his mysterious goals and killing everyone in in his way Jack and Francis return to their Motel find their room ransacked as well and meet David who came to help they gain access to Calvin's flash drive and find some documents and a list of names they need more manpower for the investigation and decide to track down Swan David Francis and Jack find his house and deduce that Swan is probably dead Reacher realizes that someone is obsessed with the idea of killing all the special investigators from their team to warn the others they try calling Sanchez and Orosco but they don't answer later Reacher once again spots the black car outside Fran's widow's house and beats up the bald man who turns out to be New York Police Department cop guy Russo he is also investigating Fran's murder so in order to evade trouble Reacher and his team decide to get out of town and head to Atlantic City to look for Sanchez and Orosco they bump into Carla Dixon who joins the group a long time ago Reacher and Dixon had feelings for each other but nothing happened between them as it was not appropriate since they worked together Langston assigns copian with the task of going to Atlantic City and killing Jack and his team the group checks out Sanchez and orosco's office and it's a mess Jack finds a picture of Sanchez and a woman at the Lucky Lounge Bar and they head there to get some Clues at first the bar staff doesn't trust Reacher and they start a fight the woman from the picture tries to escape but gets caught as soon as the misunderstanding is cleared the woman confesses to being Sanchez's girlfriend she reveals that France was working with Sanchez and Orosco with Swan also involved the last time she saw them she overheard Sanchez saying something about 650 and 100K each reachers team decides to stay at the casino where Sanchez and Orosco provided freelance security the casino director greets them and Promises to provide all the help they need in the evening copian and his goons attack Jack and Carla Reacher and Dixon quickly kill them and searge for hints in their car jack uses cian's phone and talks to Langston for the first time when they return to the hotel Reacher and Dixon end up kissing and having sex somewhere in Colorado the unknown killer who goes by many different Nam names with the initials am acquires a truck with 650 pieces of something in it the next morning Reacher finds out that Sanchez and Orosco are already dead Well Jack obviously needs more guns for the upcoming fight guy ruso finds them and arrests Reacher who assigns negly and Dixon to check out the new age Technologies company which is clearly connected to the case there someone gives them sopian address Reacher and Russo have to overcome the their differences and work together they deduced that France Sanchez and Orosco were investigating a case involving a terrorist who goes by different names with the initials am they also discovered that this terrorist collaborates with Langston making their common plans look even more dangerous Reacher and his team arrive at copian house and Ambush a group of henchmen inside they eliminate all the henchmen but Reacher notices a car driving away from the location and chases it he stops the car but the man inside has a heart attack and dies Jack realizes that they were set up by the new age Reacher and his team infiltrate the company's office where Jack grabs a framed picture of the new age team with Swan standing alongside linkston they analyze all the information they have obtained and find a secret message history between Swan and a person named Marlo Burns Reacher deciphers the emails and discovers a reference to a program called Little Wayne which new age is working on for the Department of Defense Reacher is unsure whether he can trust Swan's innocence or not there is a senator named Malcolm Lavoy who wants to give the green light for little wing and odonnell uses his unethical methods to obtain the name of Lavoy legislative director Daniel Boyd Russo is in big trouble for allowing the onth to commit the robbery Ney and Dixon visit Marlo Burns at her home but find nothing except a large pile of money Reacher and his team traveled to Boston and Dixon charms and uses her Charisma to trap Boyd for an interrogation with the help of Jack's old friend Oscar Finley Reacher successfully apprehends Daniel and obtains all the information he needs Little Wing is a code name for anti-missile software that new AG Technologies modified to become a portable surface to air missile launcher during the night a biker gang attacks Reacher but Jack and his friends quickly defeat them Reacher uses one of the biker phones and tells Langston that he is coming for him O'Donnell persuades his wife and kids to lay low for a while to keep them safe Ney and Dixon arrive at the new age Denver office but someone has already picked up all the bombs shortly after that am's henchmen take out a truck driver and steal the cargo Francis and Carla reach them but the henchmen opened fire forcing the girls to flee am calls Langston and instructs him to eliminate Reacher and his team before his arrival Senator Lavoy arranges a meeting with Reacher he promises to cooperate and provide Jack with anything he needs to prevent the terrorists from obtaining the bombs because his name is associated with the deal and could cause legal consequences for him everyone attends France's funeral where a pair of professional Killers try to shoot Reacher and his friends Ney kills one of them and Reacher and Russo begin a car chase to capture the second one when they succeed Jack threatens to kill the Assassin unless he helps them the Hitman reveals that he was hired by someone named Swan Reacher and Ne send the killer to the abandoned building to collect his money for his work but the building explodes now everyone except Reacher is convinced that Swan is a traitor even Jack starts to lose his confidence Russo confronts his boss officer Marsh about the attack at the funeral and discovers that Marsh is working with Langston Marsh offers Russo the chance to join but guy would never agree to become a dirty cop Reacher and the others track down Marlo Burns and her little daughter they interrogate her and Marlo confesses that Langston forced her to obey his orders by threatening to hurt her child Burns also protects Swan claiming that he has always been against Langston's ideas am gets stopped by a patrol cop who wants to check his license kills her In Cold Blood and continues on his way to Langston Jack decides to use Burns as bait to meet Langston and tasks Russo with taking Marlo's daughter to a safe place his plan goes AR when Langston finds out about the setup while Reacher saves Marlo and kills Langston's goons one by one Russo tries to survive in a tense car chase eventually he tells the girl to run and sacrifices himself to distract the Assassins after Reacher's team arrives to help guy dies in nly's arms Jack needs to provide Marlo and her daughter with a shelter where they'll have to hide while they are in danger and Carla offers them to stay at her old friend's place Reacher sends odonnell and Dixon to escort them and takes NE to pay a visit to officer Marsh Jack finds him packing his stuff Marsh tries to take his gun and attack Reacher but Jack is much quicker than him he tortures the officer but Marsh doesn't really know that much at least he tells re about the person named Grant who might know something useful Jack thought that Grant was dead but he is actually in the hospital when Marsh wants to attack Jack once again Reacher kills him undercover Jack and Francis infiltrate the hospital and find Grant they threatened to kill him and the guy quickly spills about Langston's upcoming meeting with am however Reacher seeks revenge for Russo's death and kills Grant anyway before leaving the Hospital Jack and Francis notice a suspicious man dressed as a doctor the man starts running away and they follow him when Nei finds him they fight he almost kills Francis but Jack appears and saves her life unintentionally he murders the man and can't interrogate him but they search his clothes and use his phone to call Langston who reveals that he has kidnapped odonnell and Dixon Reacher has to give himself in if he wants to rescue his his friends Langston doesn't know that Nei is alive which gives Reacher some time to come up with a new plan he calls Senator Lavoy reminds him about their agreement and asks for help meanwhile am meets his henchmen and finally gets the truck with stolen bombs he heads to meet Langston and complete the deal while Carla and David are being tortured Jack starts the rescue mission and gives himself up to Langston Reacher is brought inside the building and finally meets Langston in person Shane reveals that Swan is dead but he is going to put all the blame for his crimes on him he beats Reacher and demands that he tells him where neig is meanwhile neig kills the building's guards and waits for backup from Lavoy Francis creates a distraction and Lavoy people break into the building starting gunfire Reacher frees himself and joins the fight Langston rushes to a helicopter with Carla and David all already inside intending to escape and meets am of course Reacher is on his tail he gets into the helicopter and attacks Shane and his bodyguard Dixon almost falls from the helicopter but Jack saves her at the last moment now even Langston realizes the hopelessness of his situation Reacher keeps his promise and throws Langston from the helicopter together with his team Jack sets a trap for am kills him and takes away the Rockets however Lavoy people are ordered to kill Jack and his friends as unwanted Witnesses of Lavoy criminal involvement but Reacher turns out to be smarter than they expected he called the Department of Homeland Security and their team arrives just in time to stop Lavoy henchmen with the senator arrested Jack David Carla and Francis are free to go and they get $65 million Reacher decid Ides to give the money to his friends the relatives of Langston's victims and charity his mission is over and Jack is ready to start a new Journey he makes love with Dixon for the last time says goodbyes to neag gets on the bus and rides into the beautiful unknown
