everything's busier and we get double the traffic lights okay so that's highway to hollywood it's pretty hollywood-ish does hollywood have one motorway i'm not sure probably next stars in their eyes so we've got all weekly choice upgrades are doubled and the weekly choices are a mystery oh i like the name of that does anyone watch stars on the rise probably not i feel like i'm a lot older than most people here but tonight matthew i'm going to be motorway matt and then gridlock is the final one this one i did i had a little cheeky read of this one earlier sounds quite interesting look get it straight diagonal roads require double the amount of road tiles so you don't really want to do diagonals we're going to want to stick to that grid pattern which we have tried before but now we're being forced to uh all up front so we start with all the row tiles 150 of them we can we can imagine that each one is a pokemon and then many motorways we start with three motorways so now you've read them all chat one two or three vote now her e parade cheers for the sub three months of three months of live streaming the strongest shape yes i'm sure one will appear in this one uh oh it looks like it's between two and three i feel like three two three my lord we could also do a poll i don't know how long polls take though is there a mod that's capable i know joe's online but he's not capable elder god there you go which challenge there's a pole there's a pole paul takes a minute all right i can talk some nonsense about my day for a minute so my week how has it been you might ask it's been absolutely terrible so basically uh the other when was it maybe last week yes like about about seven ish days ago there was a really big storm in the uk like really windy uh and i was sat here doing my work and then i heard this like noise above my head i'm on the second floor so there's like a sloped roof like in the attic above me i heard this noise and i sort of like looked up and out the window i just saw something fly past the window like from top to bottom i was like what the frig was that uh so ran downstairs pad came with me to uh keep me company open the door and there was a bloody roof tile there i was like our and oh look 69 votes for challenge three nice good work guys so yeah bloody roof tile blown off so phoned up some roofers they're like repair experts uh they came over pretty quickly to be fair take a look yep yeah we'll do that it'll cost this much whatever i was like sweet sorted reef gonna be fixed they call the nice in the chat nice 69. um and then they started doing their work and they had to take like the ridge tile off and basically when they took that off they could see like the fabric underneath because they see rooves i think to actually make them waterproof it's like like a waterproof sheet and then tiles go on top of that so the tiles don't really do a lot they're like the first form of defense the fabric is mean stuff and basically it was like rotten and all holy and everything and anyway i later found out my roof hasn't been replaced since before 1970 so yeah pretty old ruth turns out so probably overdue and yes this is a story time with matt sorry far too excited by that it's been a while since you've done story time with matt i have to do that in another video maybe i'll tell this story again yeah i won't tell this story again it's not very interesting but yeah so they found out the fabrics cocked basically um like he showed me photos and stuff well i actually had me a piece of it because it was falling apart and uh yeah so we've had to have a new roof put on in the middle of winter uh which is bad for two reasons obviously one you can imagine it's pretty wet at the moment in the uk because it's the winter two daylight hours pretty short so you can't even like do that much work in the day i think it's like 8 p.m till 4 p.m it's probably daylight hours at the moment uh and yeah so anyway i've had a week of roofers on the roof doing there's a lot of reef in that sentence and um it's still not done still not done and the worst thing about that it's not too bad but um being a youtuber who records their voice through a microphone which is quite sensitive i can't do my day job in the day so yeah i've been like screwed i've been trying to like edit and do thumbnails in the day and then in the evenings do my recording but bloody i'm trying to like cover christmas i'm trying to have 10 days off at christmas which means i need sorry 8 am which means i need sorry which means i need 10 extra videos recorded edited thumbnailed before i leave on the 20th and i can only record after it gets dark see i'm not great not great at the moment working my balls off but it's all good it's so good i'm not challenge consists of up to three modifiers chosen specifically for that map and each has its own global leaderboards client oh we got a leaderboard specifically for the challenge you can play challenges as much as you like so there's always room to improve good los angeles gridlock right let's begin children i don't know why i'm calling you children but you're my engineering children now right pause i've paused instantly i'm gonna guess i tried to do this before i i reckon they probably got the idea of this from a video don't you don't you probably not i think i'm gonna do the grid first um so what should we do like that and then do i try and do like back to back one now if i do back to back they can spawn anywhere oh god not diagonal you cost too much so we'll do that i guess and then one at the end yeah then we could do those ones through there or actually i could do no i better not do that because there's a house in the way there's a house in the way i think we'll do we'll try and leave a space for two so we'll do along the top and then we'll do along the bottom as well that's a bit funky but it is what it is right let's try that then oh dear this is gonna be crossroads i think before i like when i did this on youtube i tried to like stagger them and like sort it all out but i should just be able to keep this going like that computer and software engineers would we like i'm gonna guess traffic lights because it's not really a grid system if we put a roundabout in although we could put a roundabout in oh i don't know what should i do chat traffic lights or roundabouts i feel like that's just going to use space up so i feel like if i put lights at every single crossroads they might actually be quite quick yeah yeah chat sort of agreeing with me i think all right we'll do that we'll do that no roundabouts today and then we'll put them on the busiest one so that one and that one although that didn't go too well yeah cool so that keeps things moving a little bit quicker right another cheeky house you'll go up i'll tell you what these ones are just gonna be i don't know actually i was just thinking this is gonna be all houses so i could do what's going on right so we're putting crossroads there and crossroads there so we're trying to get this road through as possible if you know what i mean like we want to keep traffic moving pretty quickly yeah we do have three motorways though so mustn't forget that oh it looks like though these yellows they're going along the top and the reds why are the reds going that way when there's traffic lights down here surely their new traffic lights are quicker oh yeah they are oh that's weird they come down that way and go out that way strange uh right that's a bit of a issue we might have to do that or do we just go up i guess we just go up and i hope that they get filled with houses not ideal oh oops don't do that don't do that matt oh god uh yeah blue house i don't think it matters if it's on that junction i could go up or down but i feel like that's just quicker for the blue i don't think it'll affect anything else maybe maybe i'm not really sure all right so do that with the red one oh god hang on let's pause a sec the map has grown significantly so we'll do those all the way down and that one we'll do how wide do you want this to be just one grid don't we so we'll do that connect those up and then we'll keep going and do that one as well oh the grid the grid is pretty big that's what she said now i'm not going to do oh this is annoying because every one of these i put in it's going to slow and it isn't going to slow it down it's already a junction if i do that one though that will slow that corner down although i don't think cars have left that house yet so he should be fine all right sorted the good thing about this is you can almost leave it just to spawn all the houses because things can't really go too wrong he says i'll probably regret that in a minute what i'm doing they call me motorway mac because i hoard motorways how about a roundabout i don't have a roundabout unfortunately i have a bridge though will we have to use that to get you across perhaps oh week seven another motorway i am loving the motorways this guy's an imposter why isn't he segregating so if he did miss the start of this let's just press pause can we there we go we're doing the special update on mini motorways we're doing the gridlock challenge yeah so we start with all the road tiles we don't get any more uh diagonals cost double the amount as well hence we're very grid-like at the moment and we can't segregate really but i think we're doing all right we got five motorways to play with and we don't actually need them at the moment somehow i'm wondering though do i that's going to count as double isn't it yes bollocks so if we do if we do that we can get that ready to move away somewhere the red's over there why are you struggling reds do you need more traffic lights maybe i'm not sure he's been that stuck there for ages bloody hell but it could be worth sim like making some of these grids a bit more simple and like well almost like segregating segregated grids is that a thing potentially i don't know i feel like we're doing okay though these yellows are getting a bit risky shall i do that i think i might do it now yeah soda we'll do that up to that sorted it's done and then maybe oh god look at that imax we go from there over to bearish oh one second guys i am just going to be right back the roof is phoning me [Music] [Applause] [Music] points uh okay let's put let's put traffic light in there and there for now and then we'll keep going we've got some motorways to play with we're all good get that house involved oh there's a cheeky red there what are you doing me that might be a motorway opportunity later on i don't think we're going we're not looking too bad i think i've fixed the blues now the traffic lights definitely helped look how fast these light blues are going they are cheesing it in fact i could probably fix we don't need a grid up here i could move this motorway down to there and delete a lot of that grid i might do that ah do i do that i don't know i think i might do it right okay yeah so we don't we don't need that i can't yeah no i do need that but okay so that's sorted that is sorted we didn't need that road it was doing nothing uh we can put our traffic light back in there because we do need that then you are an annoying place but i think it might be worth taking you down and going that way and then [Music] that's pretty good i need to get this i need to get you involved or do i just delete this road and make those four deal with that then i could delete that as well oh i don't know so many options there's a couple of diagonal houses no the the houses like so that doesn't count as two and that doesn't change because that's just a drive so it doesn't matter what way it's pointing so we're all good with that i think uh we'll just press play we'll get them in later on we'll see what else spawns around there oh look another one there i think we'll bring you down still the red on his own all right sorted i think we fixed that one uh green's pretty serious at the moment how can i connect you in perhaps to the motorway does that count as diagonal no it doesn't so we could do that and then take some of these yellows that way that's like two birds one stone but there's also all these greens down here which i nearly missed so we could do that we got six tiles remaining oh god i can't even look at chat there's so much happening uh light blues up there i am concerned about i'm just gonna i'm just gonna leave things for now another red you go up oh week 10. yes another motorway look we got five that's a lot of motorways we could actually hit 2000 if you bet on that i think we're looking we're looking okay i just gotta keep an eye on what's major and what isn't so that light blue gotta be bad even this early bottom 45. although the scores they're not very spread out uh let's have a look at the rankings 300 yeah pretty pretty bad can we see how do we see the top of the leaderboards again the i can't remember how you do it or is it just that now is it just that now i cannot remember oh man the mega city one pretty high scores in there and normal oh people got some
