Quest For A 18 lb. Bass (New Fl. State Record)

I'm captain CC Cory come with me and experience some of the most action-packed and gentle infilled vision that north and northeast florida has to offer we fish for everything from huge bass and freshwater to monster tarpon and saltwater and everything in between if you like seeing awesome jumps if you like the sound of a screaming drag [Music] if you like seeing big fish well you just might have found your channel so sit back relax if you can and let's see what we can hook into today with the North Florida angle hey guys Cici quarry here in north Florida angler this videos gonna be a little different from something to other ones you've seen me do you guys are going on a journey with me a quest if you will a quest to try to catch the next florida state record largemouth bass now the current state record is listed at seventeen point two seven pounds which means I need to go ahead and catch an 18 pounder now that's a big fish brought in my boat over the years but nothing close to a state record but I've never really seriously tried to catch one either not until now now I've done some research and I found four bodies of water not more than a couple hours drive from my house that have all produced bass weighing over 16 pounds and one of them actually produced a bass that weight over 18 pounds on certified scales now why this fish isn't listed as a current state record I don't know maybe the fishermen didn't fill out the proper paperwork or maybe didn't get a biologist witnesses but I don't know if I catch a fish that big or close to it I'll get ten by oh just a witness if I have to anyway what I'm going to do guys is my game plan I'm a fish one whole week and I'm going to fish on these four places I'm going to use the largest wild shiners I can find I'm going to use my electronics and my experience to locate the best spots on my chosen water of the day and I will set up shop I'm gonna be patient and we'll put in some time and I'm not going to move around very much even though it may be tempting I feel like this is what's going to take to catch one of these super bass now I'm not going to show you guys every fish I catch otherwise the video would just be way too long so I'm going to edit it down I'm basically just gonna show you the highlights from each day and then do a little recap at the end now I know it may be pie in the sky thinking on my part and I know the odds are gonna be heavily stacked against me but I feel like I got as good as chance as anybody to catch the next state record bass so y'all come with me let's see we catch that 18 pounder it's not that big a fish but it's fish they get tangled in the other one nope small fish a small one guys not what I'm after alright guys one about a pound and a half right there I'm gonna go ahead and chill you back alright guys I got a run let's see if I can get him I feel small small bass all bass of the big appetite that small person a big effort yeah we're gonna fly a shiner II went after guys alright guys another one probably be about pound a half or so I'm go ahead and chunk him back alright guys I gotta run see if I can get him [Music] small basket eyes on the Chunkin back well guys I had a pretty slow day today I only caught five bass and they were nothing to write home about I think the biggest thing I had was maybe a pound I have four two pounds I mean it was a pretty piss-poor day and I don't think I even had a bite from a big fish or even a decent fish and so what we're going to do guys is we're gonna go somewhere else tomorrow we're gonna go to another Lake and I don't think I'm coming back to this lake again on this on this this trip so anyway we will see you guys in the morning alright guys gotta run see if I hook [Music] another small another little bass I'm up here little rascal another little one guys better pound you grab it again here's my little guy all right little one guys about a pound and a half or so back you guys so far it's been day of the small fish all right guys I gotta run see you ain't getting no same size by the same size darn it a little bigger at first just make awesome look small one guy's been a pound and a half I'm gonna check him back well guys it was another slow day I did catch a few more fish today I ended up catching and I think it was eight or nine bass but again they were all tiny fish I think the biggest thing I had again was probably maybe two pounds and no big fish bites I also had a lot of missed hook sets a lot of whiffs and I think what that was is just real small bass from about a pound pound a half probably trying to eat these lords or shiners that I've got and they just couldn't get them all the way in their mouth but it was a long drive to get to this lake and I'm not coming back here again not on this trip so tomorrow we're gonna do something different we're going to fish some moving water we're gonna go fish a tributary off the st. Johns River it's an area that's produced some really big bass in the past so we're gonna go in there and see if there's any more left so we'll see you guys in the morning alright guys I got a run let me see if I'm getting okay oh my god oh my god quite good under coming toward me now he's down there he's not supergiant but he's strong he is strong oh yeah there he is right there pretty fish all right let's see if I'm good oh and they're pretty in that clear water all right let me see if I get got all right guys there is right there yeah it's a nice fish it's probably about five five-and-a-half there he is right there pretty fish guys for anyone yeah look at the colorations on that sucker beautiful colorations yeah hopefully there's another one out there a lot bigger how am I go ahead and let's go forget those guys here we go all right guys gotta run and see if I can get him all right I got him he's around something though I think it's a good one oh yeah he has nice fish guys look at that pretty coloration they're fighting hard for anyone pretty fish yeah shoot you there is return all right let's see if I get ya all right guys that's a pretty one all right guys nice fish right there yeah yeah let me see how much it's got some away alright guys it's a nice one right there it's probably about five and a half six pounds pretty fish but there is right there I mean William see how big he is zero okay six pounds one ounce guys there it is right there six pounds one ounce nice fish all right I'm gonna go ahead let him go guys gave me a good fight pretty fish haha very good Xander guys man he looks pretty all right all right guys I gotta run see if I can get him all right I think I got him he's around a log it's coming loose Kevin Lewis coming loose [Music] we you my first yeah that one guys fat one right well the nice bass guy that's probably around five pounds or so yeah pretty well there he is yeah manis Fisher beautiful in here I don't think us I'll give this you're that beautiful fish yeah all right guys I'm gonna go ahead and let him go hey guys let's try again [Music] hi guys just got hit got him ah come off shoot he's being chased right now being chased well we just got him oh that's so cool all right let's see you then get him got it that's nice one yeah oh yeah hey he's fighting hey hey he's pretty down here looking at yeah it's pretty fish oh yeah oh yeah nice let me get him alright alright that's a nice fish right there guys shoots yeah yeah nice all right guys there's a nice fish right there pretty fish yeah oh yeah haha a fishbowl probably gonna go six and a half or seven pounds let me weigh em see how big yes zero zero seven pounds 11 ounces it's nice fish guys right there you're real pretty for 7 pounds 11 ounces alright alright guys so she is really pretty bass gave me a great fight if she is right there guys there she is beautiful fish beautiful fat fish look at that yeah shoot yeah alright guys I'm gonna go ahead let this fish go alright guys I'm gonna go ahead and let her go pretty fish here she goes alright well guys had a little better day today I end up with 21 bass and had it caught a bunch of them that were in like 2 to 3 pound class you know they look they were a little Butterball's and it ended up with some quality fish - I got a couple of fish over 5 pounds think I caught one over 6 and I think the biggest one weights 7 pounds 11 ounces if I'm not mistaken but I just don't feel like there's anything here to challenge state record there might be maybe some eight and ten pounders in here you know if I fished it really hard but that's not what I'm after I want something a lot bigger than that but we may come back here again on this trip but but my game plan is to go to another lake tomorrow so again we will see you guys in the morning alright guys I got everyone let me say been getting pretty good whatever it is pretty darn good fighting pretty darn good might be a good one guys I don't know might have some weight to him trying to get to those pants you took a lot of line out [ __ ] set the hook on him don't get into pass don't get into pass oh it's a big fish it's a big fish might not be as big as I thought but he's pretty nice [Music] he's pretty nice they can fool you sometimes man I tell you it's a strong fish tell you that much it is a strong one strong fighting fish no there he is right there hey he's not that big he's not that big guys he's nice though man what a strong fish when he first jumped he really fooled me how big he was let me see if I can get him here might have won on that one he's not bad guys hey been at all here he is right there guys ain't bad at all there's one on this one they put him in the well here guys [Music] [Music] five as hard as the other ones they could be swimming towards small fish but then it's a bass is bass yep guilty right there guys all right guys not a very big one but a two and a half pounder so guys there he is right there yeah there he is oh my go ahead chuck it back all right guys let me see how big this fish is why I'm here I think he's gonna go over eight pounds I think I think he's gonna go great bounce yes guys yeah eight six eight pounds six ounces guys there it is right there eight pounds six ounces it's not a bad fish at all yep eight pounds six ounces all right that would work guys alright guys there is a nice eight pound six outs bass right there real nice fish real pretty fish right there yep baby that's him right there guys yep nice fish nice fish gave me a really good fight really good fight man that was a beautiful jump he made right over there by the cover but uh yeah shoot yeah that is a nice one right there guys nice fish yeah and their dark colored man they look beautiful in here yeah there he is right there guys there he is right there alright guys I'm gonna go ahead and put him in the well and I'm gonna release them later maybe I'll catch another big one and I can get pictures with both of them but I want a fish beautiful fish alright guys I just had a best blow up on this bait has it taken it before he smacked the devil out he's still looking at it [Music] he's still looking at it whoa he just got it [Music] all right I got him hooked oh yeah it's a ball shoot a giant fish guys and I just lost him he just come off Wow guys I just lost a big giant fish man [Music] now what can you do guys just have to just keep fishing man that's the biggest best thing I've lost in a long time Wow just gonna go back after I'm guys guys check it off alright guys here's the eight-six then I caught pretty darn nice fish in its own right right there nice fish nice fish Yeah right there guys really nice fish I'm gonna go ahead and let this one go okay this was a strong fish too it gave me a good fight yeah all right there she goes well guys I ended up with nine bass today with the biggest one weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces and normally I'd be pretty happy but I'm not and I think you know why I lost a big one now I don't think this fish would have challenged the state record but I do believe it would have been into 12 to 13 pound class that's how big I think it was definitely the largest fish I've hooked this week so guess where I'm going back to yep I'm gonna go back to that same spot and I don't know if I can get that fish to hit again but even if he doesn't hit there might be another one there and it's a lot bigger and that's what I'm hoping for so we'll see you guys in the morning Wow I just had a big giant blow up guys on this shiner look like a really big fish yeah it looks like a really big fish he's right upon us oh he just swirled at it again you know I think it might be a pretty nice one come on baby get it all right guys gotta run let me see it all right done feels like it might be a good one bigger than done good fighting pretty good it's gonna jump I think yeah it's not a bad fish not a bad fish he's fighting good pulling good shoot you shoot you oh yeah that's a nice one oh it's a nice one guys it's a nice one it is definitely a nice one real nice fish oh yeah there he is right there look at that bucket mouth yeah that's gonna be another one over ten shoot you shoot yeah look at that bucket mouth look at that sucker right there guys that was worth the wait okay look at that monster fish guys we do that monster fish look at it see it's you big old bass guys big old bass I just come on big hole bass look at that second guys look at that's like a sheet yeah hahahaha hey guys look at that monster think that big old bucket mouth look at that big ol bucket mouth guys I'm happy guys I'm happy Wow okay let's see how much a sapsucker weighs guys I bet it's gonna be a lot I bet it's gonna be hot all right here we go twelve one guys twelve pounds one ounce there he is right there twelve pounds one ounce you see that guys I am tickled guys I am just tickled what a monster fish fish guys look at that sucker right there there's a beast beast of fish guys guys here's my big over 12 pound bass sucker was either I think it was either 12 1 or 12 - but a big ol sucker right there there there she is man she is gorgeous gorgeous fish gorgeous fish I mean look at that big old mouth on that sucker yep yeah shoot check us that's a monster yeah that is definitely that's what you fish for right there guys a big old monster fish like that that's what would go after all right yeah well guys I didn't catch that state record largemouth but any bass over 12 pounds is still not too shabby now I told y'all it's gonna fish one whole week straight but I've decided I'm gonna call it quits after five long days all those hours on the road driving and even longer hours on the water fishing and all kinds of weather conditions has just warmed my butt out I'm not gonna give up I've decided I'm gonna take one week off every year just to fish for that giant monster bass and maybe just maybe I'll get lucky and catch
