I found this and Sean's interview to be very odd, these guys seem extremely depressed and disconnected.

I feel like he already did a pull up with Wale before. The streets definitely not asking for this...

Newport Papi - β€œAre you investing anything?” Wale - β€œYeah my time in this fuckin interview”

I enjoyed the interview more as they got more comfortable, it started off with Joe trying too hard to get Wale to shit on things he can’t shit on

Wale was a horrible choice for a pull-up... great artist, but damn that shit was bad.

Side note: his lenses really were dirty as fuck.

[Music] what's going on you guys my name is Joe Budden here with another awesome addition to the pull up brought to you by cash app featuring one of my favorite people in the music industry this man I think takes the title of most misunderstood artist from me right that's fair to say yes you from you from me you take it from me yeah I think I think I'm a little bit misunderstood sometime oh well I don't do this don't do this right now ladies and gentlemen while a is here how you doing ladies and gentlemen the [ __ ] is going on man good to see you it's good to finally be here man yes good to have you here thank you for bringing all the cameras and stuff out there is this year [ __ ] are you gonna do this with your interview voice I wish you could know what the hell art is I don't have to yeah I'll have to raise my voice you never have to yell well Joe exactly speak so I'm saying so this is my regular voice you probably hear what they're often think is I'm always yelling at people these aren't your regular sneakers what's mean what about him you look a little fancier than normal no I mean my jacket throw me your face in there what bet I look great thank you I appreciate it let's start with let's start with how you doing man oh my how are you since I've seen you last I don't remember where I saw us uh when I see you last that was part of month old set up oh I know I don't know when the last time I seen you but you know last couple minutes last couple months been good to me you didn't come to the New York show which is on for Brooklyn yeah unfortunately how come I don't really go to Brooklyn like that I know but you know and I don't think I was invited to that show to be whole you got to get the personal joints you know we know nobody Shawn you know we were torn it's all over the place you just kind of wake up and go with it you know I got invited to that show Rory told me the day of and the day of the side another Gauri said yo wild late tonight at Brooklyn warehouse or one of those places I don't really love like that well you don't love Brooklyn at all the shows I've been to in Brooklyn at the venues that they have for us in Brooklyn I don't love them and seems like that's where the industry targets now cuz that's where all the cool kids are oh they don't really they don't really do [ __ ] in Manhattan the city like anymore what you got Irving ting Plaza I mean urban Plaza BB King's I don't see that so your clothes I'll be bikinis in there yes see exactly oh that's one reason that was the show back turned or the wall couldn't move another reason I was glad I didn't go was a seat you people that you support shining environment why I saw you shot it not like you know new album Oh like then I came I came here and fly the show and do that but I understand you've got a lot you got your media man now but you got a lot going on ain't no love lost did you did you do did you do any any any songs that I haven't seen you do yeah no album you didn't do out yeah and I haven't seen that yet mmm how did it feel performing a new music oh it's always it's always good like everything like it's always reassuring I guess when you do you do like you know new records and people who gravitate home especially when they're like em but sandwiched in between my two super popular records and they still hold their own you know it's biggest reassuring how often would you say that you need to be reassured I don't know as an artist as a not yeah as an artist own Miep I find it in different ways maybe I would you know like it could be something you hear your record on the radio like multiple times in a day you know or it could be something as simple as somebody genuine that comes up to you in the street and like tells you they they're impacted by your music or else it could be the concert it could be just hearing something that nobody's heard and just knowing that it's just amazing there's different ways well what's your favorite way to get reassure me I think the fan I think I think any any way for real but I don't know it unfortunately it's a mixture between like like going platinum I do like that I don't like that like I just like to know that it's all right cool like all right I've achieved this miles now and um where if you know you've done it where forward from the from the know from from the shows but even though you've done it even though you've already gone it's never I don't know it gets old I wouldn't know I never get old well for me just it's just a good feeling it's like I cou you know this is you always wanted you know and do it on your own terms I ain't really tough to do it nobody else way so does it have the does it have an adverse effect if the numbers don't go where you picture them going away when you need them to be not really now how can an awesome I mean no it's good it's reassuring it's reassuring when it does happen but it you know I'm not gonna be over the obsessed with the outcome yeah how was the rest of the tour good I just got back from the UK de Paris London Amsterdam everything sold out it was good to be back in Europe has been like seven years and so did her shows over here was that was there ever a time where where cuz you say everything is selling out but I always assume everything to sell out oh the shows I've seen is so loud it was there every time with it was a pressure to sell out the shoals blah I've always been doing pretty good with torrent but some use doing some bigger things on his own some smaller but some bigger than I've done even a Charlotte I think Charlotte like is in two days and it's like 2,200 mmm I'm saying in that joint sold out like she could go so I mean that's big [ __ ] yeah but you know I always want to do bigger and better I always want to keep you know growing evolving what does that look like for you um everything that I've accomplished do it times two I guess in theory not literally in times 2 but like you know everything that I've accomplished continue to do it and continue to do it like but only in the field of music everything what was everything all right thing that up everything that I put my angle or anything that I'm into which is what that's what I'm that's what I'm asking as a businessman as a businessman as an artist as a writer ghostwriter whether you wanna call it um producer director whatever I put my hands on think those are things that I've been starting to put my hands on so you know I want to make sure I do those even bigger I'm better Black History Month mm-hmm your record sue me how do you feel about I like it do you think that I'm saying the word black there's a rough people wrong way into mainstream like having a look that says sue me I'm room for everybody's black do you think that is it rubs some people from I think black yeah rubs same people wrong I said that on an interview oh when I was just saying like you know when you say black I better black as you say confidently as a black person some people get turned off by that [ __ ] some people like it's not really like and I know people gonna hear this like what the [ __ ] you talking about like you being in rooms where it's like super powerful non-black people you say like black or like even when I played sue me in some meetings before the album came out I could just see it I think it's like like this is an insult like him saying is it's like I'm saying um keeping them black girl magic when I say white boy make more um same job as you I know [ __ ] took that like they didn't want you [ __ ] like that especially on the radio 100 times a day do you think that has an effect on you um and your in your career I think I was a little naive thinking I think I was a little naive thinking it would be like fully embraced by mainstream what black black [ __ ] the black girl manager BGM or assuming like I might have been a little bit naive like I'm not it might over estimate it you know I'm saying I didn't think it was gonna be such an uphill battle was like trying to give those songs to the world and let it let it grow and get it in people's radar whatever but now you've got the support for this record it's the next record right LOV that is the record it's a single right now I said the next one oh I pick the next single but I'm shooting it up I haven't really know what something is still going it's just left up 15 or urban so we let it sit for a little bit all right I ain't cooking mixing mediate so this is my second single I love you well it would make sense to get to sue me right I mean it takes me not gonna be the guy to ignore the obvious writing on the wall that the alley right by the rim well because Black History Month because of blank everything wale yeah I'm just asking because of black everything not just tomorrow when when when when would a job one wooden job as a single well that would be on you to decide I think it ain't gonna be no time soon but I just know I got to see where they would it feel like where I'm at everybody I'm when that time sue me would definitely be going against the grain with radio I know I'm not going I think that's gonna be more of a cultural thing it ain't gonna be one of them joints it's like shooting up the charts know that for a fact and you're still playing actively playing the radio game um I mean it's really all I know all I know was the get ready to drive album submitted a single push the single hit the road drop down that's all I know for real and I'm not sure I don't think anybody has showed me personally me personally how to do it another way now if I was taught or somebody showed me how to do it another way and I was confident in the way then that'd be different well the radio games all enough wouldn't wouldn't it be somebody's now how many playlists you see me I don't look at playlist wallet is that's the new that's that's the only other thing is play listen sugar well yeah I would assume that it would be somebody's job to show you the tricks in the trade of playlists and streaming and all the DSP tricks the same way to radio ad the tricks no wouldn't it be somebody at the labels jump to focus on stream on work at the label I don't know yes you do I don't really I don't I don't get in trouble so I don't want to be got it okay got it got it but that's it there is a job like that might be open to learning but I mean like literally all I know since I got in this that routine I'm saying other than that just go rogue and just drop mixtapes and so you ready to drop out that's another thing I've been doing I was always going that seems boring yeah I don't know okay but I said that seems boring and I want you to respond to that what seems boring all of the repetition in the [ __ ] that you just named it doesn't I'm not like it's a cycle like you could do it in your sleep not definitely can have ain't boys work working always fine you you you are confusing me in wale you Watson I am i we're gonna [ __ ] I'm aware of it though I'm pretty where you live in do you live in the art side of the art or the other side of it which is business and numbers and it's a job because you don't sound like it's a job when I hear you rap but you sound full of life you sound at peace you sound at your most comfortable doing probably one of the things that you do best and that's how it sounds it sounds confident in person they don't sound like the same person with all this it's a job that you talk about I mean you say it sounds boring mother doing it in the cycle I'm just saying that's like any job is a cycle any job that you do look isn't this like if you build an MBA you have your offseason then you start working out have you getting ready for the final of the game I quit like what are you saying no I love I love rap music I don't like the business I'm not too fond of the business over here there we go somebody's making making sure you get all this confusing looks off so when they cut away it could be any blade well they I don't I don't have a interview face or an interview voice I mean I made I imagine that camera was looking at you when you do confusing faces you gave me like three times but I don't cut too confusing faces I mean you give me like a like long pauses so it makes me feel like you're kind of trying to make sure that I'm one of them stick that could just be be over analysed that that's your paranoia probably maybe are you normally paranoid no I don't think so what do you think about what uh I don't know if that was called cherry good said that so let me now put that on him but whoever said that the formulaic way of making singles melodic singles featuring R&B ex is dated and dead I [Music] don't believe that to be true necessarily I don't believe that to be true maybe for some people well I mean we definitely live any time where it's less frequent weird those types of songs or less frequent yeah like less frequent as singles or less frequent as charting or trending up whatever they lived a lot less you know rap is more like super track like everybody's even the pop stars is linking up with track trying to do trap stuff working with try producers so those kind of songs are less frequent is that a field that you ever would ever venture into those those style of records I mean I'm I'm saying so I was I was just wrapping whatever sometimes I'm in a student and I just don't want to go through beats are there like whatever y'all pull up I'm gonna write soon cuz I just hate sitting listen to be so I I probably got a couple records like that and it's up give me give me some of the would you consider on chill to be a slow burner not that came out the gates there's more crazy as far as the feedback those numbers wise yeah I mean it was it was it took up for some reason it took a while to get on the charts but when they got there it was it was like not there it was really hot so I don't know how they are as Hepler when I got when they got there was just didn't didn't creep up there just one how did that feel um it was a good feeling I still don't really all the way to understand how Bilbo it works I'm saying but we're gonna get into billboard to at some point but it was a good fun I know I'm saying like this Shazam's all over the country and all that that might like my [ __ ] was like geez this man I hate when you [ __ ] make this difficult coming off of the album before the [ __ ] album that's doing great right now right when there were rumors that maybe while a has lost a step maybe while a spin is not as sharp as it once was and maybe while a is not as valuable as he once was and then you caught another hit so when I ask you how it feels I don't think I am NOT looking for this shallow laid-back [ __ ] that you've given everybody else I am looking for the deeper answer the deeper answer to how did it feel to help us how does it feel to prove your detractors wrong after a decade in the game after bouncing from label to label I don't look at it like that well how do you look at it is what I'm a spell good all the numbers the numbers told me it did what the [ __ ] what are you talking about no I don't want the industry to have made you into like some facsimile of yourself what are you saying I felt good to do to get a record there Charlie to come I didn't I wasn't I didn't feel like oh my god I gotta drop this right you know I'm not valuable to here proper I never how did it feel before you put it out then when you did walk you through it since you wanted raise your voices [ __ ] cuz I want to have a compelling interview and not do all this [ __ ] coffee passive-aggressive [ __ ] we doing [ __ ] I'm doing I kind of think before I speak now so give it to me the creation of the record did you know we didn't know what it was when I when I left Atlanta and I was doing some independent thing for a while I weren't really worried I went out to LA and I made it it's complicated ep the fans enjoyed it they didn't even really know I wasn't even signed Atlantic no more then I drop self-promotion you know when that Jenna was like like more rap yeah I'm saying and everyday I had a call from every every other label there's one leg board anything called I had an offer when I soon as I left Atlantic it was too low and I was like you know where I'm I don't really need I can whatever and you know I was Indian I was making money like crazy you know I'm saying and I was just dropping a piece and then dropped black Barney that John was doing it did it did what I had to do and then don't know if that was too low as from a major huh the offer that was too low is from the end yeah so um so then I um I narrowed it down to two labels you know a lot of thinking I just went with Warner Brothers and then um I started I mean I never stopped recording I never stopped recording so I walked in there with a rack of burgers and then uh I cut that jump and we knew it's gonna be single for a while but [ __ ] was waiting for me to be done with album or get closer to being done with album and I'm gonna make it I just right into the alright I'll keep going even when I sum it up I'm still going so also all at you and your entire squad and the label or maybe not to label y'all confidence was in this record long before I was confident in a lot of records on my my can i really didn't know like I really I wasn't really like that was one of my least concerns like I was just like that I was good we good we straight with the whoop and then when we knew he's gonna put it out I was just like I cool here goes nothing I'm like I'm like I know it's gonna be I know it's gonna go off when I'm saying and then when they went oh I I never once was like ma'am i'ma show [ __ ] with this one i'ma watch this like I never was like that not not even a little bit I wasn't really thinking like that someone that did I was just like duh what is this [ __ ] gonna be on billboard like maybe she going crazy I can feel it so when it is all cool all right I wasn't haha I'm saying but it do feel good - in retrospect when people bring it up like you know how you feel like you Sean because I was in I didn't think [ __ ] was counting me out for real I didn't but now when people say it when people tell me you know there's another person that kind of insinuated what you just said and I started thinking about it and I was like oh you know really you know because um Sean had a platinum single on the - and I think running back but to be gold or if it's not gold already and my love is gold um saying so what that album was impeccable thank you I appreciate I wanted to do something fun with their joint but [ __ ] don't like [ __ ] like me and there's that part no but I was in a bad place with Atlantic when I joined was all but that's exactly what I was about to ask you I don't I don't even think they thought I was done I don't think they thought it was like they thought like that I was talking to Kaiser man shot in microcosm I was talking to him he was like um think it was like- yeah I was just six months high Kaiser we love you little burger feels like that I was six months too early it was just six months in early like the GZ record it was just a little bit the J Balvin [ __ ] [ __ ] like it's on there yes do what lepre like you know saying she that Jung was this early how do you feel when labels are able to admit to their mistakes privately I don't know if I don't know we're never doing you know that um they don't really got the flat foam for real like ain't nobody sitting like Picasso down to be like y'all what you think Michael Kaiser even though you should try to get him on the shoulder never come py sure you want to do we never do my shows maybe dad was to do it I don't think any of the exact Allison knows would do much in Dallas Dallas the Dallas Dallas been putting in work - I think Dallas you some honest answers don't I would love to have him Dallas you should come that was mine wherever yet what was the if they're able to if they're able to make that type of admission and what went wrong in that in that religion doctor we're wrong I just feel like it was business things those business things that that are outside of my control um [ __ ] it didn't really have nothing to do with the creation of yeah music or anything you know I mean I have my own things I was like my frustration it took over or to go.very then I said my frustration took over like you know like I had I can't believe legally speaking or anything but then don't I had to situate I know I just had a my daughter and I just I got I lost a lot of money on some paperwork stuff with somebody and it just put me in it just it was it was strong I was traumatized because Here I am holding my my two week old daughter and I'm hearing that I'll just you know go six figures high six figures on some paperwork stuff it just put me in I was not fun to be around she's [ __ ] like that I could tell why you feel like this she did a job and I was scared I was a little scared back then um and then I just remember the record coming out and like I remember I remember we talked that night we had the genius event mm-hmm I don't know it was you or somebody else but I feel like I was you that I was like y'all know you the person was like this is this is your only roll out thing that wasn't me okay don't put that on me that well I I just remember me and I just I mean it stuck with me like mm-hmm I mean it wasn't much of a rollout but I don't want to be like that I like the label the label the label like Atlanta gives a wonderful label like it's you know look how much success that got Rotty the girl is oh they got me a boogie there and all these things happening so I just think that um there's a combination of things like you know Julie green world Juliette Jones and Dallas Mike that was all all of them everything was a one it's just a combination of business with something I had not in control of and what I was going through on another side as far as like my situation and just having the pressure of having a newborn and over there I learned that a lot of fans have a hard time with understanding of how labels work subsidiaries just the business aspect of things looks like pilots though they seem to be very fond of it ya know it's the politics like like politics like very buddy wanna vote when a vote when a vote but it's like do we really know what's going on here where everything goes and all that like it gets so fancy at the top where you just like I'm just happy to be here you know I'm saying like you're not really like seeking information and stuff like that and I'm a victim of that too sometimes but it's just like when you so obsessed with the art and you got passionate for it and you just wanted to get it in people hands you kind of just like overlooked a lot of that stuff as best as you can right now can you explain to me and anybody else stupid out there the difference between Atlantic and Warner as it pertains to you number one and two how the how mm gs business situation may have affected the outcome of things with you label wise I really can't get in today I really don't even know for you know at the end of the day labels are [Music] betting Jesus mm she's a family right yeah label labels are like a business partner yes I'm saying like they got the they got it they got a working staff I mean so what mm geez more like when I hang with Ross I don't really like gonna be looking at him I go he's like my co-pilot and everything like on the business like that's my man like it's Fame yeah I'm saying like that's a different kind of do y'all still buy Christmas gifts for the people that delayed the label Department people why is that like a joke no I'm seriously asking how you know we ever did it because I'm in the music business oh no I think I get gifts for some people I don't know where Ross do okay Nick brought me probably give gifts to some billionaire the big has been that close no listen I heard we're also good real good yes I know good gifts once a kid I'll take care of the crew and he seem like you seem like a good guy so good rough mm-hmm how actually before I get that knee of that MMG [ __ ] early he was talking about fear mm-hmm which prompts me to ask in hindsight can you walk me through some of the times in your career where you were scared but when you were operating from a place of fear to be honest like it's weird because when I'm gonna go when I'm in go mode I don't really I'm not really I don't have that I don't like when I'm just in a zone like in the creative space when I feel so good about what I'm making daily like you know I'm saying I don't really have that at all like I just be like I but I got a loyal like super like loyal fan base that like kind of shields me from like some of the ills of like like being truly scared of something career-wise I never really like I don't know if anybody can really operate if they're scared like on a high level I don't know if anybody really could because at the end of the day even when I left Atlantic I had a offer right there like I could have just went without music but I just I was like nah nah that's too low let's see how does anything work I never was really fearful and even when I got dropped my minutes code like I was never you turn I was I was I was 25 years old and I was on tour everywhere overseas everywhere like I have records with ti Gucci God I was in the South I was like I was just feeling the love I had money in my pocket I really don't believe I went really tripping I didn't really even feel I didn't even really realize but being dropped felt like because by the time I really truly truly was like damn I'm dropped no-hands was like going crazy like before I had time to stop me like that I'm making you not even sign no more no interest going crazy and I made more about nothing in that time so it's like by the time I really feel he believes like then I'll drop I was like two days from putting up more of our nothing and that [ __ ] broke Zee share she broke the sheriff [ __ ] was [ __ ] everywhere like this area but most of my fans favorite projects I'd be feeling like when y'all when when y'all shoot super successful artists start talking all this success should the job fair right I'll be feeling like well for them to truly believe that wouldn't they just go independent and put it all on them like when you say when I'm gonna go mo I'm in go mold and it's um me think about being independent and you just I got a little taste of it now you want to be in the game though some if I can speak to that yeah so biggest one being a game I know I'm one of the nicest [ __ ] you know no ever I'm saying like and you want to be in the game like if something is that that rap music is Voki like a lick for them it's one of the many things that they do and if that's your that's your mentality and ease the way like if you [ __ ] it's not your huh but something is gonna be in the game you know I'm saying being in the game is being like you know it was being in the kitchen like you know being competitive making records and like you know putting them out to a larger audience I don't think I don't think that um ending is I don't think I'm ready for that indeed ona on a larger scale because I don't have to I don't have a team around me like I don't have a personal dish one salary personal debt on salary you know in a in our on salary like I don't have all those things with me so I was like going indie would be a headache but the money would be great but it'd probably just be like a lot of you know cuz I like you know I need a you know you need to read a good a good publicist you need a good product manager you need a good somebody who can make a phone call and get an extra 50 grand for a video you know I'm saying yeah that we need those things that would be real helpful yeah I'm gonna think about it just drop videos with my [ __ ] cue cards and [ __ ] drop them on the phone and [ __ ] like that but um you know and maybe I'm selling myself short but I don't think I can [ __ ] I couldn't I couldn't even get home late night TV this album I did Trevor Noah yesterday oh don't feel bad late night TV stuff ya know I've been trying for 17 years oh you wanna do late night TV still oh now you just got me into some [ __ ] you gonna perform no I don't want performing I think you still want to do it a little bit I don't a little bit tiny bit I don't I'm not conflicted like you rappers no I don't want I don't want to do it I just think that I just think they're like you inspired so many of us you know saying you inspire so many of us to like talk about this [ __ ] that's uncomfortable to talk about right and it's like when you when you when you was that your I hate to say 'pete because I think it I don't think me I don't think you can ever be at your peak in music because you can come back DeAngelo came did it fits in your hiatus and drop something there's no peak but I just think that you made it you made a mine you made a desert you made it easier to talk about as a black man first of all as a black man deep brain hears so much wrong with all of these music oh listen but let me just get to what I'm saying you made easier for a lot negative talk about a feeling especially as a black man and my negative like look it's not like you was used from the distrust later like you from a place where it's like it's hyper masculine i purr flashy and he was talking about [ __ ] that was kind of like [ __ ] wasn't really talking about any hair bars and but it just wasn't the time for where that [ __ ] was like super acceptable or it was in the time where you can monetize that much like you'll be up right now you could if if it was like that back then you could have dropped like one song on one of them projects dope dope dope video you're a good interview you drop that [ __ ] and make [ __ ] 50/50 bands off the type of [ __ ] I believe stars are born or picked both they're born and then picked bornus be born like okay my [ __ ] cold you know about 100 mile [ __ ] cold [ __ ] that don't get no roses okay no I don't think that I don't think some of us could ever really peak in the music business because I don't think the music business is designed for black people to peak which mean I don't think that Warner will ever show you the books and give you anything that will help you and your new renegotiations I don't think that artists have a smidgen of an idea of just how profitable they are to the labels and anything you need to climb further up the ladder they kind of have to give it to you it's a never-ending game of tug and tug of tug of war so how can you peak in music unless somebody on the other side wants you to peak that's my question music like you you were talking about me and music and you use the word peak well then what do you call where I am but I'm current I don't think I don't like I said I don't like to use the word peak because it's not use that word it's never it's like this it's like this but you said you don't like to use it because in music yours 1a2 wet you can always come from noise and always go about your have you if if you really about this [ __ ] not if you want some gimmick [ __ ] if he wants a gimmick [ __ ] that's nice won't come and go pink for me and I feel like a broken record when I say this because I've said it so much is I was miserable when I was making music actually I think especially in the second this era right now most of y'all [ __ ] to be miserable too but if y'all if you right now first of all it be times three of what was going on back then because you way you was breaking [ __ ] down is part is the it's in vogue right now talking about like like things that aren't like traditional you know it's not always happy you know the melancholy love [ __ ] or emotional or [ __ ] whatever like that's involved right now you know I'm saying and again it's a kind of about like there's so much into our lives because of the social media [ __ ] and you know how to you know how to do you know how to be on the other end of interviews you know autumn I guess what I'm trying to say is when you want to you know how to be very like you know how to be like it to make [ __ ] wanna [ __ ] with you you know how to do that but you also got to make them I'm a charming Virgo yeah you know I don't know from this tournament you're a charming Virgo as well oh well thank you I appreciate that that opinion but sometimes this is one with the Lord perfect this is one of the things that cause my whole [ __ ] like it's just being uncomfortable curve I didn't used to really smoke like that and I drink like seldomly but it's like you do so many years in the game right and it's like you try so hard to be like I want these people to [ __ ] for me because I don't want them to say nothing bad about me to other people you try so hard at that and then it's like it get back to you they say it anyway they get back to you like yo man 89 rocking ones over there because uh and in our rocket uh and like enough people say they're in a snowball and it's like broke what I do always one person when he speaks in the room I forgot or like I didn't catch that person so when my mind is like when I'm doing stuff press and stuff like that I'm like man I just hope that [ __ ] it's not not like man I don't [ __ ] with this [ __ ] like like he's there right what they say about she was like damn I wish I understood how much I would I didn't I don't want it to be like that like and then it it starts to [ __ ] with your head like you go onto an interview in this light alright alright I'm about to go do this you'll not be in the collar I'm about to go to here and make sure in my mind I go make sure you save yourself thereby make sure you know they have nothing bad to say about you when you leave and [ __ ] like that and and that causes that causes that causes paranoid that's a lie and it makes you a slave to the art form I just don't feel like I have the luxury of saying [ __ ] it I don't have the luxury of that you know somebody I'm just deep down inside I honestly don't want nobody to be like like upset or feel lesser than I don't I just don't generally I don't want that did you come away with some of this some of this revelation after the complex blow up a little bad it was significantly after that joint dam really like I was always very grateful but I felt like I had I just thought like it wasn't a vendetta a little bit and let me tell you best cleanup job I've ever seen with the Seinfeld redo oh my god hire that creative genius I mean it was a it was a I don't know I think maybe now that you say it I'm thinking every but maybe that was the moment when I was realize like bro certain people are never going like you and it's frustrating because you make him music on that on the hard level but some people just ain't never one like it for whatever reason like you know and I think it hurt at the moment it hurt because I was such a part of that culture the realization yeah that culture like the sneakers only that I was a part of that culture and I know I made a damn good project you know so it just kind of really hurt it just was like man and I just thought to myself there's got to be personal from some level on there but I don't want to accept it though I don't want to accept that point earlier you mentioned you brought up Interscope and your time there which had a thought poppin minute so I'm gonna say this and you can expound on it or we can pivot to the next conversation I haven't seen you at the rock nation brunch in the rock nation brunch picture literally had a show every single one of them joint since I love our nation I've had a show where I was not know where nearly every single time this year I was was in Dallas you know so I just remember why why we was talking that you were supposed to executive produce my album if it ever came out yeah I was going to let you do that okay but what happened well I'm not with no music oh yeah you have to go I only bring it up to tell you how high highly I think of your musical ear that I appreciate that you and Ross I appreciate that and they've been to be mentioned in the same vein as Bros on some like producer or like like visionary audio visionary thing is great than me I think I can I feel like I can I could find love and doing that for the artists more so than my own project would you do it yeah I'm doing home young Chris is doing right now what young Chris Chris Young Christian good get the [ __ ] out of here be done I think I believe you dropping the record next nope next Friday independently yep how did that happen up there that came ago my mansions before I love Chris I mean before I said before I got signed a thing you just found herself another you know in a difficult situation you know you know my Lords he has a firm won't waver if you if you up off you down it's not gonna waver and it hasn't wavered for Chris so we always been cool this whole time he just you know not just we are talking oh this is something I want to do we sitting on like about 15 Records right now and it's gonna be an EP we got the song right you know I can't that it should be dropping on what Empire on mm-hmm I'm happy about that yeah you got someone who got some joints no a [ __ ] curse for a long time what else is important here the Grammys that's what I was talking about yeah the grimms and you were saying you ain't even nominated so that's fine you don't care I got one nomination I was a long time ago too none for on chill no no chill one was kind of frustrating because the record was so big but you know I was just told that it came out a little bit too close to the deadline and it wasn't enough time for them to see they tell us all the bush it was from anyone I don't get myself angry about it but I definitely was like what part about it what part about it what part about it would anger you like the lack of recognition from your not your peers because that's just one of the things this is one of the ones that kind of frustrated me like cuz like I want I want it just helps your brand and helps your own business yeah it helps like does want a Grammy so I believe it was bad because uh Lotus was the was my nomination bad was played more times than Lotus honorable radio and was like it's like triple platinum like you know and the year that that could have been nominated for Grammy and like I'm not asking for record at a year I'm not asking but like you know rap song performance or one of those kind of joints it was there was Johnny's nominated for the devil's like not even on that artist is album they were like like little throw aways and stuff like that and I was just like I am like what am i doing you know and maybe I don't know maybe that kind of shaped like my like you step out deal with up top like cuz I'm always weren't worrying like if I'm upsetting somebody or making somebody not rock with me or you know I'm constantly dealing with that everywhere I go and I think that fine that's so interesting because you're a Virgo I don't I'm not plagued with that yeah I'm I don't understand there's one like that it probably started feeling like dead in the last like two years I can't really that's why we saw unapologetic I don't do that much I don't do that many interviews no more cuz it's like no matter what I do was just always like he's too cocky he's too there's a he suitors you're like I just can't do it no more because it's like no matter what I do and I mean I like [ __ ] like I'm sensitive if I'm gonna [ __ ] like [ __ ] kissing or representing whatever [ __ ] I'm sensitive your [ __ ] like it like [ __ ] what like no you're saying it [ __ ] with me when I do stuff cuz I'm I'm constantly worrying like am I doing this right and what make it enough I can I check him on that [ __ ] somebody who's dealing with anxiety that [ __ ] it was up like that [ __ ] like that [ __ ] ain't right that [ __ ] ain't good so a lot of times when people say yeah just come in and kick it into the pocket of your black bro and my mind I want to explain it to him but I'm like I might dream but I take my old [ __ ] imagine like in my mind like no AK ain't like I try to do as few as easy as possible yeah I'm saying now don't watch them when they come out watch our [ __ ] you seen oh you know Adam driver he's they the actor he is any white people know him yes see white people know him he tight but he uh he don't like to watch his movies they an and I relate to that because he was like I think somebody tried to run his movies where he was on the interview he got mad and it's like that's how I've been recently cuz it's like I don't even want to think about the interview they so interviews used to be so easy for me now it's just like bro everything I do they gonna just harp on oh no I'm gonna get some questions that's no matter what I have answer people gonna say I'm crying I'm complaining I'm not grateful I'm missing that or they gonna say I got a bad attitude or they gonna say yeah you're not you're too reserved or you're too whatever the [ __ ] this [ __ ] you say they always want to say something then it's like bro if I don't one wish in my career it would be to just make music and be one of those mysterious [ __ ] that just drop in an area by support like if I can have my up five one wish in this industry I wouldn't even wish for plaques and all the success I would be like yo I wanna be wondering why [ __ ] that just do that little 12 13 songs tweet and posts for that week and then go miss it going toward and go missing again I would love that but unfortunately I can't do that hmm dan I have a flurry of questions now question did you know I don't mean who picks you up did you need it not yet okay who picks you up when you're in maybe one of those one of those dark moments nobody like you was just talking now nobody really nobody me you have a support group of supports this thing so why nobody pick me up though nobody nobody so what do you do to combat some of that mental health stuff that is always President but we don't feel like explain what was it it's not the right way for a loop it's not the right way I get drunk no I'm so drunk smoke weed is that counter that's counterproductive now or is it it ain't the right way it's my way fair long when I'm not making albums I mean when I'm not doing press I'm pretty mean when I'm not doing like and that's another reason why I try not to do too much like press and stuff like that not cuz I don't want to because I think I've got some great things to say but they've turned you off yeah they've turned you expect not not not just and that's why we could we can joke around with each other all day and make little passive-aggressive jokes but that's why I [ __ ] with you because at the end of the day when the real [ __ ] go down they've turned you off and the empathy that's there's not a big enough for that [ __ ] going on amongst us I said oh just such a [ __ ] competitive say it all the time you know I'm saying it Snickers that I work with that makes the most sense for me to work but he not probably like we're trying to do it because of like ego or whatever the [ __ ] I'm saying but no there's not there's no empathy there's no mental health insurance or health insurance in this game [ __ ] like that but um well what role are you taking at the label to to change that for the artists that follow behind us as my lingo should well they don't can talk about I started off wanting to be a leader over there you know that's what I wanted to be but things didn't really work out like that for whatever reason I'm just so artists now what's the for whatever reason oh if I'd if I'd know what I would have not used for whatever reason have you ever negotiated have you ever negotiated for have you are too fast by Brent fires before well Saunders uh-hmm it's a great song I love Saunders Saunders Saunders say it's under Sun whatever isn't under some of it you love Brent fires he's cool they who you like better Brent Laura Franco's neither oh you mean you don't like you don't like either either I like them both the same you just say you don't like either I like them or don't like them the same so you don't like them the same yeah but you like both of them the same so like if you it's balance so feels when he could go that way what would you write I wouldn't so you think I'm a place to the zeros no what's your part of hip hop the hip hop talking here community right I don't necessarily follow I talk about the songs I want to talk about I don't just talk about anything these [ __ ] put out I talk to the people I want to talk to I don't talk to anybody I just want to come sit down and talk talking head make it sound like I have to sit down and talk to some of these people when I don't feel like I do folks just a big like media company so you kind of have to do certain things that's not true gotta work you gotta solve the work you have to do that you have to right I would say something we revoked and you're just doing it on your own when you felt like it you wouldn't have to do it until you is ready but it's not work when you enjoy it and that's the difference between how you sit what you have to do and where I sit um I wish I could do it more sometimes I love it so much really sometimes I don't think it's enough hours and all day for me to do it I think I don't think so Joe oh wow I just feel like maybe sometimes you be like damn I got it okay you could be made interviewing but like this [ __ ] isn't fun no way so every interview never fun every time I never said that I never said that I will um now I'm not interviewing me you are an anomaly that migos interview that I walked out of I said that oh yeah that was work that was worse yet out to me go if I love you all yeah that's the clean up that sharp yeah we've been peas that are okay no no no no me and the artists not the label head not me and the actual artists artists are artists communication whatever at that time you didn't want you didn't like your job was it was you know this times like that any jobs I'm saying I'm saying that justification is so so [ __ ] oh I understand why you bring it up and it makes sense for you to bring you don't know what every job no no that every job is a job and you have to go because it's sometimes a job is gonna feel like a job [ __ ] I don't do you think rappers like don't interviews some some some some of the artists that are self-serving and I like a lot I love my fans I love like people knowing stuff but like that the actual task a procedure of doing the interview could be a bit much for for me at this point in my life and career so do you feel do you feel like your fans know as much as they can know about you or as much as they should know about you um it's definitely more to know it's more definitely more like they can know do you guard that stuff from them i guard certain things from everybody I'm saying but because you feel protected doing it um I'm just private like that I'm so like a lot of things add a new have a new ideology for people that are private like you what's that you expound on it some of it ain't just privacy some of it be shamed I don't think my I don't think I deal with that I think that I just like already come to terms that I'm not like a media darling and to kind of shake the table Annie but all of us in the media like you see that's where y'all confused me with that oh so I'm not a media darling who's y'all y'all y'all famous people who else has said that a bunch of people are so good I mean you can feel free to throw a name out there I wouldn't cuz I mean I know I didn't know if that was any oh if that's all off the record talk then so be it but yes that's a common thing that's not something that's specific to you most artists feel like that about media well I mean I literally got like a like a like a private conversation put on blast above major company in an interview yeah complex oh yeah yeah so when stuff like that because it changes you for the rest of your life yeah it was in the moment I was mad it probably happens a lot of times and yeah but your therapist will say what part did I playing that no I thought I was in the moment just as in a moment like you sat down with clickbait es complex who looks for the clickbait your former employers yeah continue I left no I find out and I go but that happened before them so you already know that before me so you knew with type of Tom knife and you're found out and you're no you found out but that happened before you got there so you knew what time it was like you know with all due respect to complex use that that thing happened before you work there so for the most parts you knew that there was they were what they were capable of I knew that was nasty yeah and then you work for them she saying I'm nasty by default no I'm just saying you worked you worked a complex so you know they kick Beatty and all these things but you know at the end of the day I'm still cool with Joe I'm still cool with a couple people over there and [ __ ] and they cook they click Beatty it's on your opinion you know I'm saying but you worked over there [ __ ] you for you in Europe in there you know I did complex Carnac up of times but you work there every day like in the morning to go to no no wale Jesus I hate famous people I wake up early daily not I woke up early to people y'all living like this other dimension why you keep saying y'all cuz you're famous ain't you on the TV show yes which you got a podcast that's like one of the biggest podcast in the world yes aren't you um interviewing one of the best rappers of all time right now yes so what does that make you popular famous nice question how are you with your peer group I just asked this to Big Sean last time I saw him my peers that my all my pitch but I think I'm strange nice trainings but like maybe extension might be a word but it's really cuz I'm a dumb I'm getting worse at being social it's getting worse at this [ __ ] even with your own peer group yeah I'm just getting worse that I don't know why y'all really [ __ ] with the [ __ ] I don't know I do I really do but like I'm I know you have to make it look like you do know I do are Jayla really [ __ ] good I do I just I might not share the same interests as ninety ninety percent of them that's a good way to put that you don't share the same interests as them I share the same [ __ ] with Westside guard we was at WrestleMania last year dizzer um no I'm saying um obviously like everybody like fashion I said coming in I made a book I'm just no I'm not into some of the things they into and I don't know I'm just I could just be really cool I could just be right I could seem really like uninterested sometimes even when I'm just chilling or surveying or I could seem like I'm uninterested disengage yeah you and Cole made friends again again you know what was not friends no we all had a whatever that was it was just it was rap it was a conversation about rap you think that you think that do you think that we was really never was beefing not even a little bit well why well well well why not and why not be why don't you send a shot at somebody in your peer group maybe not today doesn't that's today boy it's not the point in ten years because you're competitive yeah but you told me you can but we're not like I'm gonna saying shots about what since shots is gonna lead and that's talking like crazy about each other for it for entertainment and if people that would be a classless shot yeah nobody is no reason to say shots in the bar I don't like nobody I'm good you feel me like well I'm not on that type of time right now do you have a therapist this is therapy essentially yes but do you have a therapist maybe maybe I'm informed Obama must my state your current state you saying did not come to LA house party that you did yes it was pretty looks pretty good yeah I think a B was there Johnny man is it's not good way to start it off but it was a good party yep no man I'm in with a plan played a bunch of it played a bunch of joints from the album there what now yet everybody party had a good time it was good vibration not some mortals or something I like you working on new music right yes the answers yes you're working on new music no cuz I'm the fella nice you're looking at I don't think um you can say it's promotion now they don't think I'm like anything like I was like that I'm really like hyper focus no listen the beats and you know listening the beats is working on music okay well I just needs to just write and write and write and write write write write the past like the loving years so who listen to be strong um it's weird because there was a time we assume reduces Joss and Kanye and everything and then it was kind of like this little space where there wasn't like the era of super producers wasn't I mean and now it's back to like kind of super reduces a little bit but I don't really like seek beats from like [ __ ] that are like just on the level whereas they feel like I'd like I [ __ ] who who [ __ ] with me it's basically what I'm saying [ __ ] [ __ ] with me I'm listening to beats and I'm gonna keep writing if [ __ ] ain't [ __ ] with me like they got their own people they want [ __ ] with and that's cool too but who sent me beats imma listen I'm gonna listen to me you know come over I did we was talkin off off air about 90s throwback songs getting sample and that formula you were saying you think it's almost done yeah and why would you want to speed up such a beautiful enigma yeah I think jinx he he tweeted something about it and it kind of like I kind of like started think anybody was like yo he said something like grown man or something about he just kind of implied like this is this 90s early 2000s sampling error over because of something like that and I just started thinking I'm like I know part of that but maybe in the product to percentile of it but of success rate of on that level book it made me think of my kiddies are these are kind of like everywhere right now and in order to be a leader like you can't follow so I just don't know like I just got questioning it like do I want to do some [ __ ] like that again or don't want to try something most however would you just watch it and it worked really well on it and then when I and then when I try something else like like just like a song like Debbie with no right nobody nobody's gotten enough out like that and or BGM which is completely left of whatever is happening there but it's it's it's not as it covers brown because like you know about the meet and greets and I'm talking to the fan to cover the ground but it's not as heavy is like you know won't you how does Eric Bellinger feel about what if what we know one we don't chill like honestly we all told that the all-china bro I know what I know I'm clear I'm not what he's done that's my guy guy this album before last that is not what I asked you I know how accomplished he goes and he knows so you as mad he feel about what went wrong we don't you what happened he's off it he's not off of it he wrote it he what the hook so how's the office it's off it huh he was off okay so that means he's off fine time is he your father on it is he off all the 700 gold and platinum join said he he wrote [ __ ] I would ask him how I feel about being on fine china he brought it for Chris Murrow he wrote for him I would feel away Wow cuz some things you write as a writer and something you know there's something right and something something well let me answer and some things you write as a performer right and when I listen to on chill the cadence says to me that he might have wrote that for performance by him and I've been in a suit for Micaela's yes I'm an artist oh you are an artist yes yes I can tell that from a cable so for the record and I've been in that situation Jersey Joseph button is an artist continued when was that disputed I'm just not artist thing while a but you because I hate y'all and I hate this [ __ ] so I'm not doing it cuz I'm happy in life and I love it myself today you literally can drop an album from your [ __ ] living room so what do you mean what does us have to do with it while ain't yes I could drop an album from right let's have this conversation yes yes I could drop an album for my living room yes how long does it take to write that out I don't know if a so slow you're right but I'm assuming but you break let's put some on it I'm on it you write 12 songs three months nothing like you would do I feel like if you doing album in like a month and a half I could you know what that would do to my will and my soul well eat it why because that's not how to brain functions that's why we didn't how it means that the brain mine anyway is you know we creatives so it's free-flowing it works at its own pace when you get an idea is when you get an idea yep not this is not a job that you clock in you put your brain to work and in 30 days you come out with 12 songs to your liking but let's let's go with your little uh made-up scenario anyway let's say best-case scenario two and a half months twelve songs you pour your blood sweat tears heart and soul into a project you put it out fans have no idea what it took for you to create that project they've just treated like some some ear jewelry throw it in the garbage whenever they want now you got to set up a tour now you got to set up promo now you got to meet the demands of all of these different people and then turn right back around and do that again the next year that's not fun wale you know what Joe you don't have to put Joe I'm only speaking for Joe Joe hi was what I'm broke and miserable don't wanna say is that's not how it is no more yes it is if you don't want to tour now you [ __ ] ain't they not even know you're the dinosaur know a [ __ ] like you the [ __ ] that you do is more so like giving [ __ ] food you feed and make is that just some [ __ ] the most [ __ ] right now let's go oh yeah [ __ ] the [ __ ] that was listening to your [ __ ] some of them [ __ ] probably don't even lead a career from real like there so you just you're selling streams sitting because they just want to hear and they whip or whatever and do it you only have to do all that and then you you so transparent with your audience that you tell them like yo bro like listen this is what it is I'm not doing what I promo [ __ ] get God get these records get these bars over get these thoughts off [ __ ] you only really need hooks at this point to get off what you gotta get off - you're cool I cannot believe that he is able to sit here and say this to me 72 bar a verse guy no hook no structure guy ten minutes song what the [ __ ] think I tell you all the time you saying all this [ __ ] to me and I feel like grandfather present I paved the way for most of this [ __ ] going on the day I'm not why would I feel like I need to double back and get involved to show Who what I'm sayin a place I'll just have anything to prove today if you wanted to do that that's the space it is right now you don't have to you don't own nothing as a tour you don't owe [ __ ] no [ __ ] but you just own that space exists cuz I created that space I I was man to get space existing [ __ ] that said that Ukraine despot and I said it in this interview when I said on Twitter maybe four months I'm saying for me not not publicly and what I've done in and push different people follow I've created the space for to have the creative freedom to go this way this way that way do business with this person this person if it's open it's an open field I didn't have that luxury of music because I personally was not successful enough to have that luxury in music so they told me and I said like I said about four times it's a different game than it was when you said [ __ ] this so tell me about it now I mean I told tell me about it what is so different about it now tell me um it's still all the rapping rapping about certain things that use rapping about is common it kind of like like I said it's in vogue right now um just navigating through media it's something that you can show you could teach a lot of [ __ ] in this industry about how to navigate through a media um and most importantly from a money standpoint that's like you know the business of music you not the music business you know the business of music and the worth of and what goes who goes gets what so again you would be dropping music at a place of your your your your expectations is in a space like you know your realistic with your expectations you know how to navigate through media and you're talking to people that were once not on received well from speaking about emotions if he was talking about anything other than a Jacob watch or throw back in that time you know it was bad or in the next era if he wasn't like it's like literally [ __ ] going going outside and doing smack smack the TV and all these other things like he wasn't like OD going for it like [ __ ] wasn't hearing but this this place right now where [ __ ] is talk about everything and it's really kind of like you can you can kind of really grabs your fan base through like Pandora and like the researches and all that stuff I think all those things would have been beneficial to the old Joe but but they're beneficial now yeah well if they're beneficial to me in her saying whether so do you enjoy this more than you enjoyed rapping yes why huh why cuz everything okay never right uh I'm more at peace internally that's first before so that's worse them so I think so writing brass was was was making you feel uncomfortable yes why just writing raps Wow because I always rap to live I was never rapping for fans so you didn't love right I would still love rap it hasn't changed okay you don't you don't like writing raps though no well it's not fun wasn't if that's not fun how much how much energy you have to it takes to pull what we pull of course you do because you do it so no the act of making it is not fun listen they never be wait some level they never they never appreciate the magic trick once you show them how to do it right never yeah what all of that that comes with the creation of the sauce nuts it's not fun it's it strolling on us that's why city and talk to me is like you and [ __ ] like Sean and all you [ __ ] that it's been tolling all it right because not it's not all glamorous and pretty and if there was two [ __ ] [ __ ] to have this conversation 20 years ago Joe might have done something a little different well I'm jealous cities these new [ __ ] that get to listen to this I'm 100 percent jealous of it but I'm proud I'm proud and it's my job to use all of that will that I used into just rhyming words to pushing them further and the way to do that is to talk to a million of them a week not 30,000 of them a month that's Joe's take but back to why I'm happier I'm at peace internally and I love what I do and what I do is I talked to my friends twice a week and I talk to my friends whenever y'all want to pull up any money and I'm underpaid and deserve way more and way more than I'm paid that's a Fendi Jenny sweater and a roller is Academy I've had this Rolex in 2010 why hey wait wait oh hold on clad you said that no you put that little butter in so let me say they don't care who make it yeah I'm saying you got that Rolex on that's all I know in 2010 2012 Rolex in the Fendi jump I see it rollin Tiffany Johnson you know what you know why I'm so proud to wear this same Rolex in gold a like with no trace of jewelry anywhere because number one I worked for it number two I worked hard for it like in rap I always said I want a Rolex so I wear and the fact that I have the ability to change it and do stupid [ __ ] and weird [ __ ] and switch the watch and do all the Superfly [ __ ] but I don't and I keep showing up with the same [ __ ] Rolex I think it speaks to my character I do I do I do I don't know why y'all why do y'all have to wear all this [ __ ] you got shades on the [ __ ] Frank dirty I've been clean oh my gosh yeah I really can't tell I don't know your dirty friends one clean somebody I don't I don't got that much that what I got a hanging ring on and in jewelry you got the rapper kid now you know it's a rapper kid I'm gonna wear jewelry so y'all know I'm not like you present and I'm gonna with shade so y'all can't look into the depths of my soul in my eyes and I'm aware for Doris I can be condescending to this negative I'm known for today I'm gonna talk about this over like that's worth 15k because I've been had it since 2010 and that's the [ __ ] media ventures it's the media man kit yes goddamn come on give it to me give it to me yeah your man kit Nick got several honey cameras out here you know I'm saying in dijon with the logo secret because you can't really see it is black on black with this fender it's protruding through the shirt it's pretty big case I think the true name I mean from wearing a couple of couples a couple of chains I got a plain black t-shirt sometimes I got a dress up the plain black t-shirt right you look good thank you what does your meat what's your current muse I don't have one right now and that's probably why I'm writing a little slower probably you do not have a muse and at the moment not not at the exact moment I do not do I get any credit hold up for a minute does Jo get credit Joe goes on his podcast Joe Joe says don't make don't make X amount a year I'm sure it's correct the credit is this credit is good you know what is telling y'all that I'm getting money cuz I want to hide it you somebody won't bring over that chinchilla call real quick it's inside out no you seen it there's enough chinchilla that out it's enough chinchilla on that [ __ ] to warm up a smalls my mind no it is a sort of snitching it was a ferragamo wait I had a question I was getting to know chinchilla muses muses is that why you're only in the studio said [ __ ] why you don't make albums no more and he say I like my job and I own [ __ ] with y'all [ __ ] and then you see the Ferragamo chinchilla tear it right of you and nigut my man was like who jacket I said I said no jacket do you think it is do you think any of these white people will come up here wearing this longer a chinchilla for a Gummo jacket I was chilly but your jacket is already like terry cloth I was silly today I just wanted to keep warm I understand see if I wanna make music even if I was making that much money in everyone [ __ ] but I think it's some [ __ ] and that could be Cleveland I think it's some [ __ ] that I was unable to purchase that coat making music I think that's wrong so you do have a lyric Owen and Kevin Huong for the money do what foot of money you interview [ __ ] for the money no is your publicist afraid even my publicist why would she be averted I don't know no does she view you as a public see ya I don't have heat you don't mm-my no but my publicist for me is shut up well just don't say nothing now yeah okay we spent I mean like most of that time you had a publicist Oh mm then 15 2004 when I was rappin I had a publicist hey Sarita so you're not you don't think that um you can give in a situation where you feel like you might need one [Music] yeah I clearly need one I've been trying to get on late-night for [ __ ] all the publicists agents what's your pub situation she's got one in Europe and I got one in no um these ways is good you're talking right now about some things hurry up some things yeah here's my question for you they're gonna say I have my DD capo on again but it's fine this is just such honest question to creators to create a toxic moment before I let go it add to the list of [ __ ] that get the toxic moments from my life and I just come off the wrong way for everybody every time no and that wouldn't happen here [ __ ] the [ __ ] of him won't the guy who creates the idea versus the guy that markets the idea how do those two work in conjunction I would not be alone I wouldn't one say the guy wouldn't say say say the names of our the the Caracas I'm trying to visualize you saying I can't well I get this from them from the from the puff mace talk but when I was having that talk I realized that it was a talk I had had amongst my friends years before that ever took off for me which was I don't know how may said puff was doing some wild [ __ ] puff never responded but the talk I was having with some of my friends who have working regular jobs who is more valuable the guy that creates an idea from nothing or the guy that gets that idea to the world that this conversation has zero to do with puffin makes what happens something that just what is it gonna do both you create it I mean I created and try to get it to the world the best I can oh my god I can't really separate the two because you're in a boat of having to do both I don't know I don't know that situation I don't know many people in that situation I create I'll get it to the world but any means necessary I transfer but if you couldn't you would find value in the person that can maybe I'm still looking for it maybe I'm still looking for a way to get it to the world maybe I would still want to get sue me too five million people are here at one time how would you sell too many records to still be on it I wouldn't I wouldn't think that oh I wouldn't a lot of Records but you always gotta work at getting your [ __ ] off and getting make sure on that nigga's keys [ __ ] Oh how does wale rebrand or reinvent I don't know but maybe maybe it's close to that time I won't know and I'm not saying that it is no I mean my mom maybe maybe who knows but I don't know I mean it maybe I need to maybe I don't you know oh wait that's what I'm saying before you cut me off earlier like Joe Budden goals in his podcast says yeah while a my dua with a girlfriend uh-huh and then two weeks later two blocks a while they had a girlfriend I'm gonna say and I had anything to do with that but did it help Oh like it like it's nothing but you and then like I don't listen to no Park has nothing I look at my time I look at you know and I talk converse with a few [ __ ] and females in my life that I just talk to on a regular basis that's how I find out stuff I don't even really know about that put it on there's no I don't have a girlfriend I'm saying I I've been in a space why you can't do Love & Hip Hop without a girlfriend by the way I love to go crazy oh I'm not interested in heaven I feel like home why more I'm gonna tell you no okay no trigger meter I'll bet or not bad I bet it on swinging you I bet should it listen I just know that that like sometimes you're a lazy unrealistic foundation as to what really goes on in this industry to people who can't touch people that are in this [ __ ] people have a certain expectation of how our lives are based on whatever goes on on that program and it's cool it's a great show i watch the seasons early long ago you know say once I started really getting deep into this rap music industry I just I just can't get couldn't and plus I watched Monday Night Raw it's been fired the last couple weeks shout to Paul Heyman and all them to I rather watch if they both fake wrestling country there's free day pre day predetermined I'm sorry I shouldn't have to say fake we're wrestling wrestling is it fake is predetermined sort of like Love & Hip Hop wrestling Rhett does wrestling cut you check this loving is loving hip-hop predetermined Oh for me no it's all real for me it is i mean i'm i'm not i can't speak on their actual business model I can only speak on my experience for me no there's nothing predetermined you sure I'm telling you not like a little like I mean even if it's loosely based you know nothing know how old I could do is sit you down but nobody can tell you like to shoot something that you say it again twice three times maybe yeah but that's not predetermined that's a repeat what you just said um not telling you whether than anything that's my kind of emotion or kind of like toxic on either end that they made you breed cut that they may be recut yeah well recaps come with television by the way let me just say that I was pretty determined because of a recut because it's not really love sound like the [ __ ] on Love & Hip Hop did every Monday after the episode you know you're older a today TVs edited but TV does Rico not net now and I'm glad you said that is that is TVs entertainment yes just like wrestling right I wasn't trying to sell your wrestling I feel about it was okay it's people watching this I just I know they need you think people look at you different because you're such as wrestling for you know I just think they'd live in the same world of like being entertainment and I just think that sometimes it'll sometimes the things that occur on their show set an unrealistic expectation for the world there's super beautiful women on the air the way and that with crap careers and [ __ ] is in studio and all this other stuff and all these things happen it just kind of sets a unrealistic expectation if you if you're going to it to seek information about the industry and how it works and again again it's a great show it's a great it's it's produced greatest I'm sure there's not a big overhead like it's a it's a great show but I know a big over some people it's a big over what song but I would never do it but I'm just like I just this there's part kids that's looking at them like when I rap is gonna be like this and it's not you know like Empire is is not realistic right the hip-hop is not realistic to what for Arab eyes experience sometimes I get offended when those two shows are or lumped together that way David on this all the flock of birds just ran into the [ __ ] together that was crazy not a flying it was like 18 birds just flew in here together that was crazy I've never seen no [ __ ] like that only right here on the pull up yeah only writing on the pull up how far is pull up on show all the time no just at the silver yo can we one day I'm gonna talk to you rappers about the false re-up as always y'all [ __ ] in you rappers because Kitaen that is a misconception that Joe brings up birds everywhere I ain't going let's go let's move on how proud of you of meek Oh super proud let's talk about that the [ __ ] the [ __ ] I mean [ __ ] when he was locked up we probably talked like once or twice a week you know me nay his sister [ __ ] will be on the three-way card I just talking like an him like and I just was seeing like how where his heart was and it's just to see everything you know you need manifests third thing that happened right now only a few [ __ ] really know about like that Tom and I you know and that that [ __ ] is like inspiring bro like he he's showing [ __ ] I mean and as a friend he just showing me like damn [ __ ] like I remember like we talked like he was just told my what he was gonna do and how he was gonna move and [ __ ] like that and I'm literally seeing it right now for my you like to believe record with Justin yeah no more importantly you're promoting it so that's a good thing yeah we always hold each other down I know I like y'all now I like y'all like this yeah and I like this position he's it it looks good on off like everything right now I mean him a rose a that's why I can't understand why there's not like a huge MMG Renaissance happening we just busy we all better believe them know we big I just come back I mean I know y'all are busy don't don't take your table we each of you are busy pushing this [ __ ] but no no no known for that [ __ ] that [ __ ] that mmm [ __ ] that alright what's next what you got I just feel like [ __ ] that all right [ __ ] that boy okay now what's up cuz of because this I assume Ross was busy when he made the [ __ ] pop off yeah a little busy now because [ __ ] [ __ ] busier than I was bigger I'm ten times bigger than when that first happened I it's still gang [ __ ] like it's always gonna be like that and I asked rushed the same thing didn't I did a thrust this and he kind of said the same thing that you saying it's love cuz I spent time when I'm in Miami or wheel or when we're all in the same city we spent time that's my brother bro like that's my justice that's that's my that's my og like well it's always left like we talked here good touch stuff you'll ask me about stuff but like being around him I know how he move I know where how his day is say anything with me when I text me I know how a day is like we I talked to him two days ago and the day before that we talked every day last week and that wait you talked to who every day left me last week yeah oh so he was talking on when he was doing it the internet [ __ ] well internet [ __ ] he was been having a back and forth with Nick we're gonna keep me Canon no Nicki Minaj one nevermind it's not bored oh no I always man Borden oh oh you tell me the Joe talking I told you about now we talk all the time like it's just loves this is all holy [ __ ] like it's less about music and more just about like what's up like how you moving you good you know that's pretty much it that's my time when he was in the Bahamas I was out there Dallas him Joey he was all out there it was cool like I just saw like his next little phase as like a like a label hey and she like that 2020 Oh is anybody that you need to make it right with did you feel like as far as what I leave that open to your own interpretation oh oh that's my idol that's my that's my Michael Jordan and I just don't like I just feel like it's like one conversation we gotta have but it ain't nothing bad though like we just gotta have one con say he I mean like there was a time that I could reach Obama easier than not gonna reach the jay-z and you know jakey's order jay-z took me on my first world tour took me on my first major domestic tour I learned a lot from him I just know this is a conversation that we probably should have soon that I think I got it I want to tell him a conversation where he just needs to listen just a real solid combo just real solid like where I'm at now as a grown man no I love rock nation as the choices where you were just now that we're just learning about myself and how things were and we're both of your own children I'm sorry to cut you off we're both of your children you as in your infancy stage as an artist and rock nation in the infancy stage as a growing developing business that's heavy that's a heavy question bro you partially get a network show like you're good but I could see the wheels turning you like um like you you you you you you win your battle rap freestyle mode where you can rearrange stuff and still get what you got that's the talent y'all gotta pay this man like he deserves like for real not revoke this has nothing new of puffy I'm sorry Spotify either please keep your me on your playlist but paying him just pay him out you know honestly because a lot of the situations that I speak to all artists about like even what you saying right now like yo I need to have a 100 with hoes like I've been there like I've always been there so I've been at that point in my career where for different reasons of course I needed to have a 100 withhold but and I couldn't reach him he's does it a new black off up thank you for being that's a good way to look at that even I got far but it's think the crazy thing is he still in the game so it's black Godfather but have you made let me have you made the necessary steps to have that combo not yet no I'm sorry gotta check ii will probably make me a lot of money but what did you say you're rich aren't you tell us I am who's really rich stuff you want more you're not rich if you want more are you giving me a poem I'm saying if anybody who want more couldn't be rich have you taken the necessary steps home to he but I don't want nothing they rich literally I'm gonna sit on that literally I live in I live in Hollywood I got a criminai Lee would mama LA and there's always home the people up and down the block they don't even want nothing I'm gonna cos he's richer than a billionaire that want to billion they gotta get rich in spirit you're saying they rich like like you're gonna get a dollar and they break that [ __ ] down go get like a bottle of water and whatever the [ __ ] like or get ten dollars and break that [ __ ] down for a week and they feel like they up they have no responsibility they don't have have nothing to keep up with they dirty they don't give a [ __ ] thing right that was a quick on-the-fly question I'm still waiting for you to answer my have you so what's Richard what is what is rich because rich is your opinion of what we're too rich is fruitful fruitful what you mean my man swimmin this proof for me all I know is in terms of making babies well that's why I have the dictionary.com app I'm glad fruit full producing good results beneficial profitable fruitful investigations a pounding and fruit s trees or other plants producing an abundant growth that's the one I would go with reducing and abundant grossing and abundant grow whether that be in finance or spirit don't okay I know you rich maybe you got diamonds and something but these come with the shoes I know but only rich people kobato shoes mom they bought as much as probably like a every soul Jordan or something like that you didn't boycott any of the clothing the designers that did any of the stupid [ __ ] I put them on timeout here we go I'll put them on timeout got it oh you still didn't tell me if you've taken the necessary steps to actually have that conversation with jay-z that's what I want to know because it took me a little while for me to do it and it took me a while to figure out again it's not like nothing bad like it's got to be urgent but just such as when a hot item well should be urgent because we're dying we're dying mmm that's why it should be urgent because I would hate for that day to ever come we're no no no ain't nothing like that like you know they're thinking no I loved him he loved me you know I'm saying like that's my man but it's just you know life you know saying he got three kids and you know I've been navigating through the industry my way and he's also not easy to like locate or like pull up on and on top of that I don't want to pull up on him I got a like an event where he just coolin and she liked that so but I mean yeah I've taken a nothing that necessary steps in in this all love me J Brown Lenny and J Brown everybody ha hey J Brown B how it up many everybody I'm happy you always have you making money got your surf Inigo no no no wali I mean I'm happy with you and where you are and where we are in what we've discussed oxic [ __ ] man because I wanted to do to get toxic please Joe I'm not toxic wale how do you feel about do you feel like you're getting enough money from revolt for your situation no Scott is she paying you enough know how many people they'll bring you to the show with you on the show why not who sighs none of these hey let me help you none of these people are paying me what I deserve none of my employers then why you got a fin to you why you got Rolex in closing and I'm saying the chinchilla accustomed Ferragamo joints well something like you're not getting paid why not making money it told me it was cold out today everybody wanna make money right you make why do you keep going back to this money thing you brought it up first when you brought up the money first we can run a tape I ask you the viewers Richard that's money that's true if you look at it that way Richard are you rich they asked me above could a man in spirit are you resting anything what I said in spirit are you investing in anything you my time is [ __ ] you alright lastly in closing I feel like I never asked like happy questions I didn't I didn't write anything neither [ __ ] off the dome oh oh you're freestyling yes so this is your yeah yes it's always our five things that you hold nearest to your heart today well it's just uh just water we're close to my heart is shirt water looks delicious one thing is our kinky I would never yeah as a question like they're not give you a generic answer sorry I don't really think for a second to think every blessed think for a little bit I mark my true friends my true true true friends the ones that if they hear this they know like you know who it's one of those but it's a little deeper that's like yo I honestly know how he feel or what he's feeling if something does that be with me all the time they don't really know a clue so the ones that really really really care and really kind of like show it in different ways then I always my family in like my daughter the fire that's in me like the never-say-die duh the football mentality that I've always kept I keep that close to me and um I guess my creativity and never being in like like us never like said like being grateful for the creativity that I was blessed with it's always be creative even when I'm around like people that ain't really on what I'm more you have a daughter did the Coco be passing with Gigi affect you differently because of that yeah I mean it [ __ ] me up it just says it's just for - we don't got no [ __ ] control for oh you don't got no control and I should so crazy because it's like you don't even want to say that because it's like it's almost like manifesting it but it's just like but it's true it is just this brutally true and I don't know that that's been the most significant thing to happen in our generation you know I'm saying our oh geez or anybody from old age and older to my aging younger like the everybody like that's a big like seventy year gap of that [ __ ] was [ __ ] crazy you know I mean how it happened and how we're in a real time society and everybody's gonna remember what it was when it happened I mean just like nipsey everybody no matter what it was when he heard it and remember what they seen and all of these stuff like you know is it was it was heavy and I don't even honestly think that it's all the way hit most of us yet it's like slowly creeping up on us daily got it well I love you thank you this is a long time coming us sitting down this way I want to be with the dad of a joint because it's more relaxed and it's not there's nothing like I feel like I'm being Terra gated right now no I never want you to feel that way I want you to also feel at peace and at your most comfortable when I'm I do expect an invitation to the next house party where unreleased music will be being played I think we're gonna do that this summer in LA I think we won't do it and I look forward to hear what what what what you have to offer in spite of what in spite of what you say right now and I got to tell you I think that you look great I think that you sound great I think that you come off more clear-minded than you've ever been whether it's an illusion or not because none of us will know because you're private that way but it feels good to hear one of our great poets as clear minded as you have been in this sit-down and I appreciate it well I appreciate you having me and as long as you like to see it you know we'll keep trying to do what we do I'm chucking out jewelry yeah you go ya ain't got a nose it you got cash yet no no I just feel like it's a way to get scammed but so how do you trick I don't [ __ ] liar what a liar you trick on your muses maybe that's why you don't have a muse cuz I look good because you're not tricking on uses sorry I don't want to be my muse ladies and gentlemen this has been another fantastic episode of the pull up and I'm out of here I'm Joe Budden mom's coming soon this is why ladies working on mad new music that he won't tell us about because his warner label head is here with a war nerd sweatshirt but at some point we'll be able to get into the new music and I know it's coming I know it's coming cuz when the [ __ ] get super successful at the label with the project they working on the labels say alright give us the next one and he's in his studio listening to beats that's how I know this is MTV
