now when i think back to the early days of streaming when i started streaming on my xbox my ps4 i always thought what would it be like to have that really expensive gaming computer to overlay all of those things put alerts and have that on my screen and just enjoy that as a console streamer i've got you today not only am i going to show you how to do it but you're going to be able to use the same overlays that they do without having a pc to do it let's get into this if you're new around here i'm cyrus and i'm here to improve the streaming experience not only for you but also for your viewers and today that's exactly what we're doing with a program called lightstream i'm really excited to talk to you about this program because it actually came around when mixer was a thing and now that that's taken the big dump we're actually seeing this a lot more popular on platforms like twitch for console streamers ps5 ps4 xbox one xbox series s or x and really seeing this take off but i want to go ahead and tell you as a caveat it isn't free but it's not expensive i think for 720 30 it's only eight dollars a month much cheaper even than something like a netflix subscription so let me show you live stream how powerful it is and how you can use it to level up your stream let's go ahead and jump in the computer and i'll show you how to set it up all right to get this going we're gonna have to make two accounts one of them is for live stream and the other one is for stream elements we're gonna start with live stream and then go there to stream elements so we're gonna go to golightstream.com the link for that's in the description or just go ahead and type it into a browser just a side note i am setting this up on a computer but you don't have to have a computer to set this up just set your phone to desktop mode or go ahead and do it on your console browser but if you do have access to a computer it'll make it faster and a little bit easier but it's not required so go ahead and go to go livestream.com and we're going to go ahead and click the start streaming button and it's going to take you to the plans for you to choose from on your screen you're going to see the separate plans there is the light stream the gamer project and you can see that for 720p 30fps it is eight dollars a month on top of that there's a free trial for you to try it out and you can cancel if you don't enjoy it so go ahead and select it go through your payment details and let's go ahead and start editing your scenes once you get into live stream you're going to see something very similar to this and you're not going to have anything set up except maybe the first one that's got your game that comes in we're actually going to edit all of these and start fresh so on the very first one we're actually going to go ahead and change the name of it to live and if it's not already here we're going to go ahead and click game source so that it is there i think it's already set up from default i just started with a new template from this point we're actually going to leave go live stream up and we're going to jump over into stream elements and get the overlays to put into here so the next stop is stream elements.com go ahead and create an account with them and connect your twitch account or whatever you're using in this case i'm going to connect my twitch and it's going to take you to the dashboard from here we're going to click the themes gallery and this is a beautiful location because not only are all of these free to use there's so many of them that are animated as well as static and some of them are even themed to a specific season or their theme to a game and can be really useful for you the one we're going to use today is actually the gray area super theme it's really clean simple nothing crazy or over the top you can preview any of these by clicking preview and checking out all the scenes that they have but for right now we're going to click create and give it a name i'm just going to call this one light stream and then you're going to click create my overlay once you click create my overlay we're going to jump over into my overlays and you're going to see i have to scroll down you're going to see it titled in this case it says gray area super theme we're only going to use three of these from our situation right now but you could choose to use one or all of them that's up to you but we're gonna go ahead and edit the in game overlay the stream starting soon and the be right back screen so let's go ahead and start with the end game overlay and then i'll show you how to put it into the live stream once you click edit you're going to get into their page that looks very similar to like a photoshop or something that's got layers and a whole bunch of text you can change so what we'll do is change all of the appropriate information for example at the bottom of this one i've got to where i can update my socials so that people could have this on the screen so i've already changed them all to dark and cyrus you might have a webcam frame if you want to turn that off or on that's completely up to you if you do have a webcam go ahead and leave it on and we can move it around in a moment and i'll show you how to be able to preview it so you can go ahead and line that up later alright once you have everything edited in here what you'll do is click save and make sure you click save and then you're gonna click copy url we're gonna jump back into live stream and we're going to add a layer and choose third party integrations from here we're gonna actually choose stream elements because this is what we were using and then we're going to paste that url that we copied from the stream elements website now we're not done we technically have to stretch out this source so to do that at the bottom of the source you'll see something that says area and position you need to change the area to 1080p which is 1920 by 1080. and once you do that there's one more setting you need to click scale click the three sliders and then click stretch to canvas and what that'll do is stretch that to where it lines the entire canvas and you want it above the game source and you can drag these and move them up and down but you want the game source to be on the very bottom so that the overlay is on top so just make sure that all right for the next two at the very bottom you're gonna click the plus button and you're gonna change their names to what you want so i'm gonna have my brb screen and i'm gonna have my starting soon screen and seeing as these aren't really going to have gameplay on them i'm just going to click add a layer and click third party integration and choose stream elements i'm going to go back over to stream elements and i'm going to scroll down and grab the url i've already edited these but make sure you edit yours i'm going to grab my be right back screen i can click my three dots and click copied url go back to the live stream make sure i'm on be right back paste the url and then once again i have to edit those areas so what i'll do is click [Music] change it to 1920x1080 once again click scale stretch to canvas and i think you have to unlock the layer to be able to actually change any of that so make sure you click the unlock button and you can always click lock again so that you don't make a mistake and mess anything up let's do that one more time but for the starting scene screen and that's it we have our three scenes set up so the next part is actually going live and checking your settings so what you'll do is click at the top gamer project and you need to turn this to auto live project turn it off so that you can go live from your console but not actually live to your platform to be able to check things now on your console you're going to go ahead and go to the twitch app and go to broadcast and you need to change your destination to live stream set up all of your audio controls at the bottom change your title and click start streaming once you do that you're gonna see the stream actually pop up behind it won't say game source offline and if your webcam is there you'll be able to see that and then through the stream elements app move the webcam around and hit save might take some trial and error to get it to line up but eventually it will and it'll be set there forever my recommendation is once you get all of this set go back to gamer project at the top and turn auto live project back on and make sure that your first scene is the scene you want to start so if you want your starting soon screen to be the very first make sure you put it in your starting screen so that it starts on this one when you start your stream so then the next question is how do i change the scenes when i'm live and it's actually pretty simple you go to a website called remote.golightstream.com and you sign in just like you would on the computer but you're going to be able to go on here and change between your scenes just like you would if you were clicking on the computer and this is how you can change from your starting soon to your live and to your be right back the other part of that is you can leave that up in the background and still open the twitch app and use the stream manager to see all of your alerts as well as your chat from your couch or wherever you're streaming from directly from your console and that's pretty much it again i hope you enjoy this program i've really enjoyed kind of messing around with it and doing a small stream with it so if you enjoyed this make sure you go and hit it with a thumbs up and i would love for you to jump down in the comments tell me what you like about it and come in the darkness discord we'd love to be able to connect with you i'm cyrus and welcome to the darkness we'll catch you next time [Music] you
