today's back workout like i said we only have a few more of these left so we're making them count that little bench setup chest supported row thing we did at the beginning was gg a1 so if you guys have access to anything similar to that then go for it but it's a good back day got to go home got to eat get some food in tired of health got another round of cardio to do so i'm going to shut the up and drive on home all right what's going on you guys i want to quickly sit down finish this video off with like a little chat i feel like i haven't just kind of like chatted and let you guys know where i'm at my prep mentally physically and all that kind of stuff and there's only so much room on calvin's cards left here because he's something 4k so i'll try to make this quick but overall i've been feeling really good i've been feeling exceptional and more importantly i've been feeling excited and confident and calm and just that word excitement is a very powerful world word for me because it's a word i haven't felt in related to competing in three years now 2018 i was sick i was in the hospital it was just a hell of a year 2019 i was just afraid of 2018 repeating i was living in fear and anxiety and i was unable to enjoy and really feel the process and i just kind of battled through it was a tough mind and thought like this is what it takes like push down your feel push down your emotion to just get through it and i won and that was amazing but it was it wasn't the same feeling as i have this year already before even getting on stage it was just like the suppression of so much emotion and feeling inside of me and it didn't feel like i was 100 myself and my body was also reflected that i wasn't 100 myself it wasn't the best version of myself by any means and i didn't enjoy it the way i should have enjoyed such an amazing moment as much as i obviously didn't enjoy it but this year has been different i haven't been shutting down my emotions and telling myself i shouldn't be feeling things and pushing down i've been embracing it when i feel fear i feel it i take a moment and i feel it i let myself sink into it and then i try and analyze it i'm like what are you actually afraid of is that actually a true thing to be afraid of is that going to matter in a year and a month and a week in an hour is this does this actually gonna happen is worrying gonna help fix it and the answer is always pretty much no the fear is just a perception of your mind and feeling it and analyzing like that personally has helped me avoid it a lot and it has come up so much less i've been living in so much less fear i've been living in that excitement and confidence that i was talking about that's new to me and it's reflected in my training in my day-to-day life and in my physical appearance in my body has been healthier more vibrant and stronger than it has been in years and i'm someone who for a while was like i am this disease i have this autoimmune and it's gonna me up blah blah and instead of talking like that now it's like no like sure you had it but it's not who i am it's not always a part of me and what i am is healthy and i'm choosing to be healthy and focusing on that and being in this moment right now so this mindset has helped me so much with prep and the biggest thing that's changing me this year is 100 my mind i've been taking moments of gratitude every single day and doing visualization my biggest time for that is when i'm on the treadmill i sit there and i like reflect back on the past few years and i realized that like the things i used to think were bad or shitty or i hated were actually just shaping the future for myself there's something i had to go through to get where i'm at now which is such a better place and nothing was happening to me but everything was happening for me so that could grow be stronger be better be in this position now of so much more strength and security and belief that i belong on top of the sport and i'm gonna stay here and i can do this and i can do it healthy and as long as the i want and i've also been visualization doing visualization on same kind of concept going through whether the show day the prep leading up to it and all that stuff and the biggest most important part of visualization if you guys try this into your goals whatever they may be is trying to connect emotion to it and actually feeling it because your mind when you're really in your mind in certain moments when you can get deep into meditation and stuff like that your mind doesn't know you're not actually in those moments and feeling it especially when you can't attach the emotion to it your body thinks it's real it's actually happening so if you can do that and i have been able to do that so well i can get on stage in my mind go through my prejudging routine and just like imagine how it's going to feel up there with such a good prep and so much excitement and confidence and joy and progress from the years before and just feeling it all my family in the crowd watching knowing i have their love and support all these all you guys fans who love and support me and want to see me do well up there just all that kind of love and pushing forward i can like feel it and i've honestly started to cry before like doing treadmill tears on my face i'm like rubbing my eyes and and it's like crazy and i actually feel like i'm on stage and i'm like performing at my best and i've peaked perfectly and hitting my poses like i need to and i know for a fact that is going to translate on stage and i'm going to remember that i feel like i've done this before and it's already been good and i've succeeded and i killed it already so that's been helping me a lot absolutely and one of those things that i'm just grateful to be in this mindset that i am in bodybuilding is such a intense weird sport thing and also all sports but i'm in bodybuilding so when we talk about it come down so much to the mental side and if you can't handle the mental side of it you will not last like i made it to the top without it without fully understanding it just because i could push hard through anything but i would have cracked that was stressful last year and i didn't enjoy it and i wouldn't want to keep doing it something would give eventually my illness would come through from the stress or this would come through i just wouldn't enjoy it you really have to have that mental side locked down believe in yourself and the confidence and that everything in this world is good and you have the power to control it if you so choose to and that's exactly what i've been trying to take control of this year i've been trying to take control of my own life my own health my own future my own success and that's the goal come december 20th 19th i don't even know what it is but i'm going to step up there and i'm like trying to be i'm not trying to win mr olympia i am being the classic physique mr olympia champ that is the life i am embodying that is who i am and that is how i've been living up this entire prep and i truly believe that is going to reflect on stage and i cannot wait to show you guys that because it is going to be a very special moment for me and hopefully for you guys so yeah that's kind of a short cap on what's been going on but it's been a damn good prep and i'm excited to show it well the camera died right there but yeah that's just kind of a quick recap on what's been going on this prep and i just want to say how grateful i am for you guys who are kind of joining along on this experience with me and following me along on the journey your support and on all that kind of just the support that you guys give me honestly it means more a lot than i can kind of say it's hard for me to explain but your kind of comments the jokes the the all that kind of stuff it helps me along the way and i'm grateful for everyone and grateful for this process and grateful for this life i get to live because it's amazing and just happy to be here so yeah get ready for 2020 classic physique mr olympia champ cause that's the only thing we're working for you
