[Music] a lot of you guys talk about my gumbada alleyboy and uh he asked for more stories i told you there's a hundred stories with me and him i'm gonna tell you one it involves me my gumbada aliboy and louis molito louis molito was also he went to school for it a professional lock picker years ago the phones were in phone booths it was a quarter a dime a nickel and you would make calls the money would fall down into a box he learned how to open that black door that was on the front a little silver box was on the inside would take it out empty it and uh take the money so he talked to me i go about alley boy we were all all of us were pretty close and uh asked us to do it and help him as a team so ali boy would generally be in the car louie would go in the phone booth pick up the phone put it by his ear on his shoulder so his two hands could work the lock i would stand in the phone booth as well so i you you wouldn't even be able to see him maybe you'd see his head and the phone is by his ear so he's talking i'm standing there watching listening for other people now it sounds chintzy i know but it wound up being a lot of money we did that all day long from phone booth to phone booth to phone booth the biggest money was on the thruway the highways when you'd stop at it on a thruway seems like everybody used the phone instead of being 20 30 50 60 in it there was a hundred and forty 180 200 and uh we took the throughways and hit all little boxes and uh time came that the phone companies knew they were being robbed they couldn't figure it out because we put the tin box back in we put the door back in they had no idea how and what was going on but what they did is change the whole system they changed the locks first we understood that they sent it to three different states this state would make a third of the the locks this state would make another third this state would make another third so even the people within the company didn't understand the lock how it worked it can't leak out they were pretty slick we hit them anyway louie was that good but they started changing the phones as well the whole phone no more quarters dimes and nickels it was just changing around and we stopped the box became so strong that we couldn't get in louie called me up one day and he said listen samuel a friend of mine just came back from puerto rico he said they have all the old phones we could go down there make a score i said all right let's call ally and we'll go down we'll hit them but what are we going to do with the money we can make a connection with somebody in puerto rico sell them the money cheaper you know 75 cents on the dollar they'll take the change they could and give us cash or whatever or we'll take it back in sections 10 twelve thousand dollars worth of change on the three of us and leave the rest of it buried and then go back on vacation enjoy the vacation come back with another 10 12 15 000. okay sounds good to me i got in touch with ali we were raring to go now we wanted to get false ids which we did all three of us got fake ids driver's license everything we packed some clothes louie had an attache case with him and he had shipped the tools down unbeknownst to me in ollie boy to somebody in puerto rico he mailed them so we wouldn't have to carry them which was smart so that day we went to the airport the whole three of us all fake id without stuff and we were sitting down waiting for our flight i saw some guys walk in with suits and i didn't like the way they were looking at us so it says goomba don't look up but when you do look up at a corner of your eye there's a couple of guys there suits white shirt ty they don't look like people who are going to travel and i think they're eyeballing us a little bit i could be wrong but so he looks kumbaya you're right there's not two of them now there's three or four of them we tell louie louise what do you think it is i don't know i don't think it's a hit i don't think they're going to hit us in an airport like this i think it's cops it's got to be cops fbi or somebody nothing happens in a little while there's even more of them and they're talking to people who work in the airport looks like airport security i said i think we're going to get busted i don't know for what but i think we're gonna get busted we get up the plane is gonna take off and we get on the line with the people and uh the people go through we're going ahead with our ticket and now some of those guys are right there okay you could you step on the side sure what's the problem step on the side okay i step on the side alley break same thing step on the side louie molito same thing step on the side and they let the rest of the people go and they're pulling off us off into a room we want to see your id we want to see your tickets we want to see everything okay could you at least tell us what the problem is we don't have a clue what you're even talking about where fbi we're uh working in the airport it was different guys they announced who they were what they were doing or what the hell was going on they already got our luggage they didn't put it on a plane they took it they went through it there was really nothing louie had this attached case like i said a little what's in that he says a newspaper they opened it up that's what was in there newspaper then they come back this isn't your real names we know your names yeah i answered what about it you're mad that i'm going on a flight on vacation under a fake name yeah it's a fake name is that the problem here possibly why are you going there we got some broads over there the fake names we're married every one of us i don't want my wife tracing me that i'm on a plane going to puerto rico i just told her i was going to go with my friends and i would be gone for a couple days so i'm cheating on my wife is that a crime no another 15 20 minutes goes by maybe a half hour they come back good luck good luck for what you're going to go on the plane we're letting you go they held the [ __ ] plane up and we're gonna go on the plane what about my luggage and stuff uh our luggage we put it on the plane already there was an announcement that there was a delay and you could still get on the plane and go stay out of trouble in puerto rico no problem though i'm just going there to get laid with a nice looking broad that some guys hooked up for us and uh that's it and have some drinks and have some fun and relax for a couple of days okay and we get on the plane and we go there that's when we find out me and ali boy that louis shipped the tools i thought for sure when he opened up that case that we were dead possession of burglar tools or whatever but that didn't happen but we're talking on the plane when we got down there what the [ __ ] was this why would this even happen in the beginning i mean is this over fake ids i mean what happened what went on here do they know our plan somehow and maybe that's why they let us go so we all come to the conclusion let's just hang out here for a couple of days let's go out for drinks let's party let's relax let's just go go to the beach let's not rub nothing we agree we started doing that we had a rented car i was with my gumbada ollie boy and louie was in the hotel and we got lost we pull into this gas station and uh he's trying to talk half italian half spanish half english you couldn't understand them in any of those languages anyway so he's saying something and i'm sitting in the car and he's trying to tell them about the hotel and he says something in mixed spanish italian and the guys who were pumping the gas and all they saw start laughing and i'm listening and they're pointing to us marigold i think they're calling us [ __ ] bro ollie boy get in the car what what the [ __ ] did you tell this guy look at them they're laughing they're pointing at us marty cohen isn't that uh a gay guy you know that isn't that for spanish a gay guy yeah i think so they think we're gay bro put your arm in my my neck let's get the [ __ ] out i don't care what they think let's pay the thing so we pay the thing or get out that's my goomba alley always something would go weird in a weird way was no big deal really but we're laughing our ass off ollie boy comes up hey i just talked to a guy at the front desk they got this place it's rocking i mean every all the women in there are hookers you go in there you have drinks there's parties going on and this and any other thing really there and we decide to go we don't take the car we take a cab and we're asking the cab driver we give him the directions where to go to the address or whatever it was and we're asking them about the place you know about the place ah yeah yeah good the bonus you're nice he's talking i said this is great we'll have some fun we get into this i don't know what to call it it was like uh a real rough neighborhood it didn't look like a real nice neighborhood and it was like a two-story building and you had to go up and get a uh go up the staircase and we're online from the top of the stairs all the way down it's a pretty long staircase there's guys no women just guys so we're on this line i said bro i i i'm not sure and nobody dressed i mean guys are like they're dressed like bums so i don't think this is a classy joint we're going into everybody you know we're the only white guys here yeah well let's go up we go up we get into place places jam packed a couple of hundred people in this place girls and people all over the place and girls coming over and uh we're having a drink we're trying to just fit in a little bit and uh louie bolito hooks up first some woman comes over good-looking woman and he hooks up and he's going to go into a room whatever and me and ali boy were at the bar a guy comes over a little bit taller than me not a big guy but and he has a girl by the hand and he says go with my woman no no thanks bro no thanks not here for that i wasn't interested enough and uh i wasn't sure of what to do going into rooms i'm i'm really not that comfortable in this place so i said i'm not interested he don't want to hear it no you're going to take this girl you're going to go to a room you're going to give me the money no no no i can't do it i'm not going to go up in the room and i'm not giving you money i'm not doing any of that [ __ ] he's getting loud aliboy says goomba you want me to crack him and we just drop his [ __ ] ass no no no aly no no no no don't you see how many people now are looking and around we're the outsiders we're white guys we're from [ __ ] america they're all [ __ ] puerto ricans they're all from here we'll get killed in here in a fight no we'll brush him off let's just try and brush him off maybe we should give him a few dollars and tell him yeah i don't want the girl here's a few dollars get the [ __ ] away from me that's going to make it worse when he tells me it's going to make it worse i think you're right what do you want to do i mean we can't even make a move right now and try to fight our way out of this [ __ ] journey louie's in a room they'll leave him alive up there or wherever the [ __ ] he is he'll never get out we have to stall at least until he comes out we're stuck we know we're stuck we know we're gonna bare minimum get a tremendous [ __ ] beating when this thing starts if not get get killed in there i don't think they have guns but they probably all got knives and [ __ ] like that as we're thinking about it this tall really tall good-looking very well-dressed puerto rican guy comes over what are you guys doing here he takes control of the whole argument the guy says something the guy was trying to pawn off this girl and he just waves him off like that and this guy just poop he's gone so he's got some power here we came on vacation and uh somebody told us about the place we got a cab and we came here he said this is a rough place i don't know who told you to come here but people like you you become a target you're not getting out of here but then what are we doing get our friend out if this is gonna happen get our friend out of a room he's in a room as i'm talking louis molito is coming back and that is three of us against 200 [ __ ] people now this might look good in a [ __ ] movie but in real life you're gonna get your ass busted big time so the guy says use a firmware new york i could tell by the accent he mentions a guy's name and i can't remember the name a street guy or a maid guy or somebody that he was friendly with in new york he was in new york originally he came down here and he took over or started i don't know how he's he's the boss of this club and he's sending money back to new york to this guy wow wow now i don't remember the guy's name but and i don't even know if i knew him but i said right away he's a good friend of mine you know if i get out of hand i go back i'll give him your regards you know he started laughing he don't need my regards he gets my money every month i send somebody there he says but you guys are good guys you stood your ground i like that you didn't let this guy bully you i like that i'm gonna walk you out of the joint i'm gonna get you in a cab don't come back here you know ever and uh if you do know my man give him my regards and uh i was ready to leave we left the money on the but we didn't take our money off the block to change the [ __ ] just walked the [ __ ] out with him got us in the cab and uh we were going back to the hotel we stayed there a while longer it was funny to us we hung out we got a little bored we really weren't there for girls we weren't there to party we were there to steal so we made excuses called the airport made an earlier flight home and we got a flight and we went home we left when we get back to plane lands we get off we're gonna go for our luggage there's guys in suits again are these guys here for us bro good thing we didn't do nothing we're walking we like to talk to all three of us on the side again how was your love life were you being cute no you went down there to go with girls you were hooked up and everything the guy said sammy we're not stupid ali boy louie they know every one of us he said we had a tip that you were gonna rob things in puerto rico you didn't have nothing that we found we let you go we got your bags we'd like to search you one more time and this could have been a [ __ ] tip that we got on you guys we know your background we know your history we kind of believed it we got your bags we know your names all of that they call our names out it might have been a [ __ ] tip we're starting to think that you didn't have nothing going down if you're clean now apologize for wasting your time that's fine searchers they search us louie's got his hat that shake case with that stinky [ __ ] newspaper with it that's it so we're gone we leave end the story and we go home and uh oh i went to puerto rico on vacation one time years later but we never went back [ __ ] the phones never going back and then we were talking you know to each other who did you tell how did they have a tip like this to know that we were to go steal ali boy louie and myself many tell anybody i didn't even tell my wife i was going to puerto rico i had told her i was just going to go in the neighborhood upstate new york i'll be back in a couple of days so i don't know maybe just our names when we got this phony id maybe the guy who got us the phony id he may have known we were going on a trip he didn't know what we were going to do not enough information for us to go and kill him because if we found out that somebody said something that's exactly what we would have did especially with
