bowing and it's a great environment to be in to see um all these all these these folks who are who are either signing letters of intent or um or or very interested in buying uh or purchasing or leasing aircraft a particular type of aircraft or whatever um industry they're in whether it be military or whether it be a commercial Aviation um but uh yeah great to be here and uh we are a a we've been invited basically by the folks at in Brea so we're obviously going to do a little piece on them uh KC 390 right behind us here this is a a newer one than the Brazilian Air Force One that we saw uh yesterday um this one flew in yesterday apparently uh did a media flight and opened the back door I think they were made aware of it anyway interesting uh iae uh engines same as we see on the 320. uh very interesting right I'm gonna get my ugly mug out of it and we're just going to switch here flying displays start around about one o'clock folks so we've got about 25 minutes to burn here but as you can see we've got a lot of stuff lined up uh first time since 2019 obviously um because of uh what happens with all that uh c word and all that kind of thing that uh put a bit of a Scupper on The Works huge massive shortage of aircraft and Pilots around the world at the moment so obviously the the industry is trying desperately to um to make things better there um so including the flying display later on we've got the uh the triple 7x the max um The Profit Hunter the e195 um the uh this 390 here which is a Troop Carrier um and uh it's it's very very um there's a there's there's a lot of sort of like interest in this aircraft from um from uh uh armies and defense agencies around the world I think um I'm hearing that the latest uh interest has come from the Dutch uh Armed Forces uh for the uh 390 interesting like I said um obviously a highly modified um version of the um of the iae engine but uh but that's it folks that's the same engine what's that GP okay okay um good stuff so uh that's a brand new airplane we believe uh so we're gonna have a look on board that one um in a little bit well actually probably not that one um that's not that's the static aircraft that's the one that's going to be flying uh the one with the Brazilian Air Force that we saw earlier on um but uh obviously a very successful platform something that embrae are very are very happy about this is a big successful platform as well the profit Hunter the e195 E2 of course there is an e190 variant as well um this is the aircraft that they've been flying around the world uh promoting this jet for uh for quite some time now four years in commercial service and a very successful as well I have to say uh having read everything about the profit hunter or the E2 uh it's Gathering Pace very rapidly um lots of of um of of customers around the world um but one in particular which which we're going to get on to later we'll talk about all of their customers powered by the uh Pratt and Whitney PW I think it might be the 1500 G but uh but we'll have to double check on that one and let's have a little a closer look at her because we've got 25 minutes folks we're going to burn a little bit of time having around this aircraft and uh and possibly other ones as well but as we discussed yesterday incredible to um see the the uh how advanced engines have become now and the most uh advanced technology of it really is the uh the the fan blade technology um as you can see here the core of the engine remaining more or less the same um but it is the the the the fan blades themselves that have have stretched and become bigger um and lighter as well of course and less of them as well uh the light we've seen with uh altered other traditional style engines you can't see right the way through the back of the of them but you can obviously with these new with these new type of um High bypass uh turbo fans um great engines to look at great engines to listen to as well undercarriage I think the um the E2 uh profit Hunter I think the E2 e195 has had a uh an increase in width in terms of the positioning of the main strut of the undercarriage as well as possibly the height of it as well in order to allow for the ground clearance of these uh these new uh bigger engines when I say bigger engines we're just talking about the fan casing itself and you can see this is what we talk about when we talk about bypass folks this is this area here is um is how much air is bypassing the engine um uh unlike in the past where it was uh very minimal bypass this is now sort of like somewhere in the region of 70 of the air that's uh that's ingested into the engine it goes through the bypass section here only around 30 of it is used for um is used for the power goes through the the the the combustible part of the engine if you see what I mean um the hot part wait I say hot Parts cold part of the front end hot part at the back um but uh yeah very interesting how um engines have developed in the last five or six years kind of like very unique to embrya is the um is that system there that rocker system there and it's it's a lot different to to Conventional uh setup that we'll uh we'll look at later but um but yeah it's a beautiful piece of cast braking system um she's got a range of around about 2 000 nautical miles 41 000 feet uh she'll carry up to around about 135 passengers in um in single class configuration um obviously she can uh she she can be fitted out in different types of configuration with a business up front um economy etc etc so it all depends on the airline and the carrier um which which configuration they want but obviously for um high density roots um you'll see if you look on in Breyer's website you'll see the um the uh the customers that they have and uh and the interest that they have of course uh conquering um I think it's North America Now isn't it is I need to I need to just double check on my phone we'll talk about it later when we see this thing displaying it's going to be displaying around about four o'clock this afternoon um so um look forward to that but pretty cool livery on the profit Hunter as well this is obviously they're uh their and that is one of the most noticeable uh pieces of this aircraft as well is this raped wing tip High Performance Wing I think it's an all-new Wing as well uh but these guys we'll see it in the display later when you look at the uh the profile of the wing it's uh it's very different to the older type and you can see that extension there the raked tip um and I think because when we talk about the pylon and the engine itself hanging off the wing um as you can appreciate the cf-34 engine on the older aircraft is a lot smaller and therefore um you know doesn't require as much strength on the uh on the pylon because this is a much bigger engine uh I wouldn't say it's heavier um but uh because of the components in it lots of carbon fiber lots of exotic componentary and materials being used in there so um but obviously because it's a bigger engine they have to redesign the the way in which it hangs off the wing and that is of course this part here which is known as the pylon so that's something that all is is all done in the wind tunnels as well so let's have a little look it's KC 390 shall we the uh Troop Carrier at some point I'll see the uh [Music] foreign yeah so you've got to uh respect the fact that they're a delegates on board the aircraft uh potential buyers as well um or lease companies that are still a very popular aircraft the older variant of the embra E1 uh the the 195 175 170 with the smaller cf-34 engine this of course let's just go and have a look and see if we can get on board keep me posted on the time GP yeah in terms of the uh uh okay okay I want to kind of stuff you're you're able to see stuff on radar yeah your jumbo jet there okay we've got odsb on folks so we won't uh we won't miss any displays so I was truck caught in traffic uh took my good mate Joe two hours to get here from the center of Paris so as you can appreciate um extremely busy roads coming into the air show fortunately we've got all the uh area access passes so we're uh we're able to stick our camera wherever we like really uh let's just have a look here and see [Music] I think these guys I think we've got delegates on this one as well top you've got to be aware of folks is that uh [Music] people on board Defense Force delegates um but it's quite impressive inside the aircraft gotta say kind of what we've seen inside uh other troop carriers and when I say troop carriers it's uh it's it's more like a a a freighter inside with the freight deck which can be modified and changed to either troops or uh or vehicles or whatever it might be you can probably stick a small helicopter in a really uh depending on the especially a little render yeah [Music] a drone Chopper uh believe it or not um so obviously uh billions of dollars worth of um orders and letters of intent is the Lois are going to be floating all over the place I did see um something on French Telly this morning Qantas of uh I've done something I don't know what it is but it's like all I saw was the word Qantas I couldn't understand the rest of it um but as you can see quite a big turnout of aircraft um going to be displaying that JetBlue 321 a little bit later as well obviously like I said the max we've got some fighter jets going up I think the F-35 is going to be displaying as well we've got some helicopters that are going to be displaying helicopters are pretty cool to watch aren't they um have a little look down here Riyadh Streamliner they posted last night about apparently they've uh they've they've had another one painted uh Riyadh okay now if we missed our standby oh really it's going somewhere else is it let's go into somebody else yeah let's try it again I'm not walking around um okay so these guys have just come off [Music] [Music] let me just quite informative about the uh p195 E2 if you're interested she'll uh I've flown on it it's a comfortable ride and um okay we're good we're going on so we'll just have a little look through thank you [Music] to look across that Wing as well folks see uh it's quite a lot quite a lot of flex building to it as well which you'll see later High aspect ratio wing hey how are you sir let's see if Jerry bridge at TV how are you doing nice to see you you're flying it today in the display or uh yeah yes awesome yeah uh is do you do the displays often or uh is this your first time or are you display pilot no no I'm not the Bandit wheel that will do the display but the aircraft will yes they are test pilot that will fly oh the guy in the green uniform yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you like flying the aircraft it's a lot different than the uh the original 175 in terms of its flying capability and uh in terms of performances performance yeah matter yes it's pretty similar yeah the operation yeah it's just the it's just the bottom line what's written on the paper that matters in terms of its efficiency and fuel saving and so on and so forth It's A Beautiful aircraft yeah range yeah yeah yeah cool can we just look on the flight deck quick yes thanks man so there you go folks cockpit and that's what I've talked about with the uh Concord style yoke on it so they will need to uh obviously plan the flying display obviously a lot different than um what you normally have with a standard uh airport departure Etc is that a live film yeah how do I access you a big jet TV I'll give you I'll give you a card before I go cool thank you so it's a nice new cockpit compared to the 175 is it in terms of the glass and uh the um yes the the E2 model it's a newer newer one right yes there are some new functions yeah like the four the biggest screens yeah it's a feature operational features still the same control column yes but it's full fly by wire yes yes awesome the E1 it's not full flower is it not no the U1 it's not it still has some conventional yeah uh flying oh really yeah but this one is full okay interesting yeah awesome thank you so there you go um business class I'm guessing um yeah very nice nicely uh I like that that's pretty cool isn't it um that the way that that's staggered like that I don't think I've seen that on a single large yet before that's very interesting isn't it yeah um on a lot of um other uh carriers you'll see and they're big seats aren't they as well I mean that's that's the benefit of having instead of having three seats you're about it you obviously have a a bigger a bigger seat um bigger wider seat look how wide these seats are man a big nice Windows as well um yeah like I say somewhere in the region of depending on the um how the cabin layout but yeah always a nice function when you can always helps but what you've got to appreciate folks is you know um these when these when these seats are designed and developed you have to appreciate the fact that this thing's going to be opened and closed um multiple times in its lifetime so components like that have to be easily remove the removable quite easily um headset system it's nice just a nice little touch isn't it for economy C like that man very comfy it looks kind of big and roomy as well this is the seat this is the seat you want isn't it but look at that for um for um thank you look at that for uh legroom so I'm impressed I mean I've flown on it already myself but it was quite some time ago but I have to say that it's a nice configuration isn't it um there's some other aircraft of three um is it three three um anyway other conventional single aisle Jets uh have a more sort of like you know stuff I'm in kind of um mentality whereas these are a lot more roomy and uh less claustrophobic I think you would say but uh yeah fantastic absolutely and like I say I've got to say it's brilliantly brilliantly staggered uh business class like that thank you thank you Are You Gonna Fly on the display or are you just gonna are you gonna sit on the aircraft when it's displaying or no we will be on the ground you'll be on the ground yeah they will fly we'll of like one-to-one service like I've always had with the folks at in Breyer um so you know um as a as a as a unit working for themselves and like I say this aircraft's only been in service commercial service for four years uh the E2 that is uh it is very impressive how many orders they've taken how many um aircraft they have they have put into into service of course many markets to tackle this is the one that I flew on I think I think it's flown on the helvetic 195 E2 sorry cheers okay let's get ourselves uh up on the flight deck we've got five minutes folks I wouldn't imagine that we're going to be going straight into it at one o'clock but I guess um I guess that um we uh we have to follow pretty strict protocol [Music] up onto flat deck yeah [Music] say hello Joe hello okay folks you're right right in the last month I contacted him to worship he said you won't believe it I'm moving to Toronto I'm just doing my reaching with the E2 no and it's such a fantastic it's going to fly one of my areas so coming back together again well maybe maybe if he's involved in that in that deliberately that would be a great little story yeah maybe we should we should do that yes yes with the guys way that they're they're um they're pushing the market now fuel cell technology hydrogen mixed with air creating electricity an electrical charge and therefore power but also what was very interesting I read up last night apparently there's an all is it an organism or um I'll find it but apparently there's a there's an organism that um it's it can feed off of um hydrogen and uh and doesn't need um doesn't need food is it an organism or let me just have a little look here hold on a minute are you uh sort of like have a look down there a bit of a show we don't have a flight coming to look down call it up get in a bit like that like a easy sun easy oh okay it's that's purposeful massive uh fair play actually so much is he rehearsing for a London Heathrow show or something yeah enzyme and enzyme that can draw um an enzyme from mud particles so you have to read it folks but enzymes from bacteria can extract energy from hydrogen in the atmosphere and these are these this extraction is like billions of tons over over a period of a year quite impressive really honey that is one thing about an electric motor is he's got a tremendous amount of torque especially at low end so uh it's a romance I know what it's like for a pilot no sound whatsoever other than the rush of air must be some a guy out of CDG I'd imagine is it over the top of me [Music] so I'm gonna do a quick vertical check GP yeah we're good this is obviously not a display area I'd imagine that that is a this is moving I think that's gonna cross the active and move up to the intersecting Runway um the um private air filter here at the Bourget I think chanced again okay next up now I have got a I sent you that I sent you that that um I see a helicopter I see a helicopter yeah that is definitely um Jeffrey promise if I have the right information starts at just 99 000 U.S in Pittsburgh that's worth wow yeah 99 Grand that's um that's a deep that's definitely a good price isn't it the volocopter that's the sort of thing that if you down scale it I guess you could fly it out your garden couldn't you but it's all about having um you still have to have a private you have to have a PPL don't you I guess um and also airspace is a you know you can't just um lift off and uh but hey you've got PPL and you've got somewhere to store it 99 Grand that's pretty damn good uh you know when you think of um [Music] collage okay it looks like this thing's ready to go single pilot operation for Airlines will probably be standard by the end of the decade Gold's Hawk Road and I liked it you know I don't like to sort of like you know have that kind of discussion because it's uh it's crazy um you know you have to have a backup pilot I don't want to keep going through all of this Boeing have completely drawn themselves away from this whole pilotless Venture both for freighters and for any any type of uh aircraft being and we have we did have a little bit of a joke about it earlier on about you know Siri and all that kind of thing but in all seriousness it's a it's a ridiculous idea I think it's something that somebody started and then it's sort of like grew Pace as is the typical way on social media you know like um but to be perfectly honest with you is something that I can never see happening um until way way way way way way into the future um you know I mean I know somebody might say you know well hold on a minute you just been talking about a pilot this a a driverless taxi well yeah but there's different things to consider um with that is that firstly I think that the taxi system that that pilot list taxi system it has a um has a uh a grid to work with you know within a grid pattern um and if it obviously moves out of that grid it stops operating you know if it's if it sways out of the uh the grid pattern then it'll uh then the systems will shut the engine down to the batteries what's that GP U just took out by yourself is this the French version of farnborough well yeah I mean um farnborough's the British version of this me um you know you've got uh air shows yeah this is this is I think this is bigger than farnborough um but um but anyone people will argue it uh and understandably so but um you know it's a it's it's it's combined trade uh obviously as you can see um all the major manufacturers here if you were with us yesterday you will see uh we had a very brief look through some of the halls there or one of the Halls um but it is very interesting to uh to you know you need to appreciate that this isn't just a public air show this is um a trade show uh three days of trade um where delegates from around the world defense ministers and um so on and so forth will uh um from from the from the Army and the air force uh the Navy and so on and so forth will um will come in and see what's available [Music] and obviously be invited by um by the by the manufacturers to come and have a look firsthand at what they can what they can offer um and that that that Porter order that we were talking about just now within bro is a perfect example of the kind of things where hands are being shaken and uh officially announced so that's great for uh the likes of embryo I hear that um you know Airbus will be probably signing multiple orders as well um but uh but I think it's great for uh for a for a manufacturer alike in Breyer to be uh to be you know showing so much strength uh in the marketplace in a very very sort of like um competitive Marketplace what uh the powers of that again I'm not sure how much um you know because the wing the wing of an aircraft needs to work with the engine doesn't it you know uh the Dynamics the aerodynamics of the aircraft and when you have a highly efficient uh wing and a highly efficient engine you're gonna you know break through a lot of barriers and um increase the efficiency of an aircraft 10 20 30 40 fold if not more uh I think I was wrong yesterday in saying that the uh E2 was 60 quieter than its predecessor it's actually uh 70 quieter um and of course far more efficient got more range got more speed better aircraft to fly and uh I have to say I love that layout inside the cabin is um it's almost like a private jet in a funny sort of way because of the fact that you get so much uh space in there leg room and width as well charging on hold interesting okay that's because of the um settled one two ninety one two nine attack uh he believes that helicopter is that's uh fired up down there sort of like a glider it's just yeah there's a bit of noise now folks here we go attack helicopter is this one of the ones where the pilot sits up front and the armor the the arms yeah I think it is or is the pilot yeah weapons controller wizzo they call him a wizzo foreign services [Music] that they chose that as a uh as a as an engine platform it's very uh reliable and successful power plant it obviously works well with the uh with the airframe [Music] is everyone mentioning about the profit Hunters uh Graphics actually they've heard they've had over the years they've had quite a few um display Jets and um and of course they're all painted by hand as well not literally the paintbrush right it's airbrushed by hand [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] Venture uh Aero engine manufacturing exercise is a very successful one of them prep quickly are the owners MTU Airlines Aero engines sorry 25 Japanese Aero engine Corporation also 25 percent [Music] [Music] he was also engaged in the development of the Super Fan a geared turbo fan derived from the v2500 and that is what this is the v2500 [Music] however the work was terminated during the late 80s by doing an extension agreement between um so the original collaboration called practice Rolls-Royce Japanese engine Corporation and MTU uh Aero engines of Germany [Music] Aviation okay you are clear for display sometimes obviously there's been a number of different um variants of the engine and has been scaled up over time [Music] [Music] so this is the Millennium if anyone's interested to know medium-sized twin engine just how military transport aircraft designed and produced by Brian okay range of six now just over six thousand kilometers a 150 kilometers an hour wingspan of 34 meters weight 24 um well white is right 23 600 kilos [Music] what's that GP sorry yeah go ahead this is wow wow got their their business class seating up front staggered is just uh it's just it's just fantastic big wide seats as well at least on this aircraft in their uh configuration cabin config okay fresh with the paint still on it Porter Airlines announcing an order with uh in Breyer today confirming um into the Canadian Market folks [Music] do something breaks outside [Music] are you gonna get to see um yeah that's who I flew with helvetic did it go around as well it was on the elves actually I love it Andrew hurricane bottom very impressive we've got more noise from tag team planes than that thing frying itself around yeah 70 odd percent quieter than its predecessor with the cf-34 engines so yeah understandably massively quieter and highly efficient as well [Music] uh for a while have we I missed it what was the twin engine cargo aircraft that aircraft that you're looking at there it's actually military transporter um and it is the c390 in Breyer C3 Knights KC 390 Tower Israel Big Mama noise of the c390 Millennium crazy in it because it's got the same engines of the 320 CEO [Music] uh Melody those sounds that you hear coming from the engines are pretty standard with the uh Pratt and Whitney engine uh Tim Wright's under yes the the Federated Aviation Authority would obviously want to see uh it's hard enough getting any kind of modifications through the FAA and other regulatory bodies [Music] famous I think what makes the AE to attractive would be its economy seating from conflict 2-2 from a customer perspective no squishiness uh if you saw earlier on I did have a wander around the aircraft inside the cabin and my goodness me was it comfortable I've flown on it and it is extremely comfortable from the point of view that you just don't feel boxed in like you do with a 3-3 configuration um you know they they can fit more seats in there up to uh 146 depending on the uh the um density of the root but something like that it just gives you a real good experience and especially a staggered um seating up front [Music] Mark B thank you very much in the off to work thanks folks uh please roll around the change from yoke to side stick isn't that significant as is from conventional controls to fly by wire the 787 is a fully five by y with a yoke flight control logic is closer to the Airbus than the triple seven I see what you're saying because row because it is a fly-by-wire system there are no cable routings and all that sort of thing that's what he's saying um so yeah theoretically it is literally um using the same systems underneath the Yoke as it would be on the side stick so you know the connections and all that sort of thing so yeah I guess you could quite relatively simply redesign it but it is a case of getting it through the FAA and all that
