been to sleep yet so guys this is the Emirates A380 for this morning and it's in the journey to the Future Special Livery which we like to call the king you scheme yeah um I'm sure many people can work out why but later on we also have another Emirates A380 coming in during the live show and that one is in the destination Dubai Smarties scheme oh that's my favorite one so I'll be in Alabama yeah about midday about so about 12 o'clock so you all want to stick around for that um now I believe Paul one of our VIPs did a bit of research on this particular aircraft um he said today's uh Emirates A380 Emirates flight 17 and 18 is Alpha sex echo echo whiskey uh since being repainted as destination view by it's only been to Manchester twice um and they were both quite recently as well so um this is the first time we'll ever see this particular aircraft on airliners live cool I cannot get a signal down here at all for internet on my phone oh I know it's just my yeah oh no and we've pensioner these days I don't know because it changes every week it changes doesn't it it's like as we get older and older yeah the retirement age just keeps getting further and further away the Finish Line keeps moving 80 by the time we retire oh yeah I don't even think there's much point I don't know think about it well there better be a point because I've been paying into it since I was 18. yeah I want something out of this think about that he's uh pushing 60 now and he uh when he started his pension about 10 years ago I think a lot of people just don't even have them in like more self-employed people and things like that another EasyJet touching down with the fenced winglets A320 jet2 needs to get in the long-haul game yeah we did wonder whether like A330 meals were on the cards at some point that would be nice wouldn't it well just yesterday here at uh Manchester Airport arrived the jetsu A330 uh 200 from uh air tanker nice so they're now back in the jetsu fleet I don't know if I'm going to see it today that would be very nice but there's just one now here at Manchester they might be out and about doing flights already but we'll see and task uh thank you very the people applying that that uh decal no I've not seen that one and it's it's super easy it's like it looks like it's the easiest it looks like they're putting on a car sticker you know they just like slap it on measure it up hold it for a few seconds like maybe a minute yeah and then take it off and it's done nice I thought it was like a proper complicated like stencil work and things going on yeah it would be really cool to see how an aircraft gets painted at some point yeah yeah that'd be Mega wouldn't it yeah there are rumors as well I know that's been going around on um Twitter a lot about the new uh jet2 a321 Neo has been partially painted um and apparently that's coming up to the UK soon to get finalized the details put on that before I can enter service for jet2 no date on that yet though [Music] because I think that'll be a huge occasion to see the uh first ever jet2 Neo being a delivered to Manchester Airport I believe that's where it's going to be although there's nothing you guys thank you very much I seen Mark San Jose photo of his uh flight yesterday right Mark yesterday morning he went down to Malta and seen not one but two Ryanair 737-800 with the retrofitted split Scimitar winglets so you know it's good to see some more of them in circulation I do think personally they make it a slightly more photogenic to have that sort of extra bit to the winglet um I've only ever seen one or two here at Manchester think uh in the whole time of them um existing but uh Ryanair are going through and spending about 200 million euros on retrofitting a big chunk of their 737-800 series with a extra bit of the winglet which goes underneath the usual chocolate style design and it creates a split Scimitar wingler which actually although adds more weight it adds more sort of what you think would be drag it actually reduces drag due to um I don't know the exact reason to be honest but do so reducing uh the kind of mixing of air pressures and things at the tip of the wing yeah so what it does it stops the um as much downward pressure on the top of the wing yeah um which changes like because if if that wasn't there you would have to change the angle of attack which would use more fuel um so that's that's kind of how it how it does it it's interesting how more Airlines don't do that like retrofit aircraft all right [Music] I mean jetsu are pretty prestigious in having really really good standards of maintenance on their aircraft um one of the maintenance facilities here at Manchester as well and they own a lot of their aircraft too and their engines as well yeah and so we were speaking to a jetsu pilot who uh I asked him why do you guys seem to derate the takeoff which means um use a bit more of the runway and less power uh to get off uh on takeoff and he said it's because we own our engines so um when companies lease the engines I think Ryanair at least theirs and you you just get off and it's not your problem and you just use use a higher thrust setting but uh because Jets who own their engines they just look after them a bit more and just derate as much as possible yeah I suppose if you're not covering the costs of the uh the long-term maintenance of the engine maybe they have like a a plan in place that they pay for a flat fee for that and they're obviously not going to be as cautious as the the wear and tear on the engine and obviously they're not going overboard and making it unsafe you know Ryan I have an also an impeccable safety record but um I know uh jetsu definitely do go the extra mile to take care of their their aircraft yeah and yeah their their maintenance record is insane you know they uh also have the jet27570 which are uh I mean a bit ancient when you when you look at it compared to other aircraft um and some of them are pushing what 35 now I think yeah so for I mean if you had a car that was 35 years old it would be would require a bit of work right yeah the uh air transit actually is next to land um that's in from Toronto about seven hours that flight yep and uh Matt just saying the Virgin a350 is also on the ILS yeah that's second in after the transit really good to see these back again I uh definitely want to make sure we get a trip South Side to grab a picture of that when it's uh leaving in the sun yeah Australia's saying that's how I treat my lease car yeah I mean I suppose with a leased car though you've also got to take care of it because when you give it back I suppose yeah it's got to be in a a bit of it can't be trashed right whereas if it's your own car well this may so we had a lease car and um well we still do but our old one um I think something of airliners live related hit the door card inside and it wasn't massively obvious but there was like a small dent and then like hairline cracks coming off the den it kind of looked like a spider on the door card inside all right and um and I I checked out about um replacing it and it was just one piece of plastic that needed replacing yeah and they wanted like 400 pounds for it just a piece of plastic jeez so I said to Jenna said should we just risk it and just see if because they do like an inspection see if the guy clocks it yeah and uh notice it mate this guy I'm not joking loves his job mate he was looking for everything oh my God he was absolutely haunting for everything yep and uh when he opened that door I just said too much you got many more to do today right after mine I said how are you getting back full distracted distraction man and he uh he looked in like looked at the seat and then shut the door I was like yes I just got managed today so he missed it but um past the inspection and he passed the inspection yeah but um I found out later that um it wouldn't have been a big deal anyway because we were getting another car with them they wouldn't have really minded if there was a bit of damage in there anyway reminds me of when you move out as well you know when you've rented an apartment or whatever and they're always like super picky about the smallest things yeah yeah a little charge of like carpet cleaning or something random I mean I can kind of understand the carpet cleaning yeah especially with us because we've got cats like I'd expect them to say we need to clean the carpet but um I think we're good actually because when we moved in it was a bit of a rush and because the people who were moving out um their place got delayed which meant they couldn't leave and we were kind of stuck in limbo because we'd already given notice yeah our old place we were kind of like paying by the week to stay in our old place right so when they moved in they um we just said look don't worry about painting it don't worry about cleaning the carpets you just want to get in yeah so we never got that for us so I think we can probably say look we're not going to pay for it for the next people to shoot yeah definitely sometimes they will uh try their luck though yeah painted ourselves oh yeah we've painted the whole place we've got a really nice landlady actually so nice air transit 8321 neoconium from Toronto Canada yeah that's it show the uh yeah and we were we were going for a bit more of an expensive car as well so we um I don't think they would have cared at all really by I'm in two minds about when this one finishes as to whether to you like a monthly yeah addition to the channel and anyone who has any interest in Flight Sim whatsoever whether you're just a casual user or more of a Enthusiast or a pro user give it a check out and uh it is down to the the gas chamber combustion uh Gas commercial chamber sorry that's inside called the Talon X combustor which is a low emissions uh combustion system and uh that particular chamber has a resonance frequency which is well known in like sort of the the land of acoustics uh things like standing waves um with reverberations and what happens is um the size of the chamber basically just resonates with certain uh frequencies of sound and that creates a howl when when the the engine uh combustion rate matches the frequency of that sound it amplifies and creates a howl and you often hear that howl and the resonance when the aircraft attack seeing very quietly but most importantly when the aircraft spools up to take off but also engages reverse thrust Ryanair 737 800 just uh touching down and rolling out I'm gonna make the rapid exit taxiway ahead of us here off two three rights [Applause] I don't know rough sasking why the Lufthansa returned to stand yesterday there's a whole host of reasons why an aircraft could return to a stand though [Applause] I think one one big reason might be because of a technical concern also maybe something to do with the easy jet holidays one is cool with the swimming pool I've personally never used EasyJet holidays but I did have a Uganda and he seemed okay you know you get like the full package probably works out a little bit more cost effective to do that if you were booking accommodation as well but me personally for the package holidays I'll usually go for a good old jetsu for European packages yeah I don't think I've ever booked a package holiday you know I mean for people who like aren't really into traveling as much it's just like it removes the stress from it all you know because you know that you'll have a bus waiting there for you and if the flight's light for example the bus won't be missed and if the flight's canceled or something happens they'll probably book you in a new one and see I didn't do buses I booked everything individually yeah I've booked a car booked to try yeah yeah yeah I'm not rich by any means I did take a credit card it usually works out cheaper though when you do book a package holiday I found unless you are like bottom of the barrel like Ryanair and just trying to walk places and stuff yeah I mean you can definitely do a great holiday really cheap these days yeah yeah you really can I mean Lanzarote for example like I I even had the extra luggage to take the tripod and things and uh we probably don't maybe like 200 quid for the whole weekend which I know sounds like a fair bit but that was for a weekend price usually cheaper in the week as well yeah it's not nothing but we've been mooching around for staycations and stuff like oh the UK could be so expensive yeah you priced out of so many places yeah it's only 200 quid for the flights and the accommodation yeah yeah but we managed to find like a nice little Airbnb flat for a couple of nights which is cheaper than the Premier Inn we were going to stay up all right can you get your own kitchen and everything's nice and then they said oh well we need a bit more information so we need to um uh what was it your driver's license driver's license why so I uploaded my driver's license and then he said oh well now we need to check if this driving license is yours so now I'll take a picture of yourself what is that about and we'll check the picture that you've sent against your driver's license I was like me like you've got enough information there to do some bad stuff we might secure it into my mom's own bank apply for a passport easy that's ridiculous I've used Airbnb probably about 15 times maybe 20 maybe never had that questions it's always just like that so the most I've ever had is like the ask my phone number because then they you know they give you a complimentary message saying how to find the place and you know text this number if you have any issues I wonder if this was just because it was your very first time using this maybe maybe they may have changed things since you started using it but they um they uh sent me a message just saying oh we're really looking forward to welcoming you to your stay if you need anything please let me know yeah so it like sounded like it was the woman texting me yeah I wrote back and just said oh thanks a lot and it come back and they say may is a good month it rained I'm not joking for the entire week and I'm not just saying rain it was like it was just you couldn't even go out because we were so high up in the mountains as well you were just in the clouds so we went out for a drive could not see anything apart from gray walls it was me and I said to Jen when we got back I said Jen we are not going to Scotland again Scotland because it was I'd saved up for that trip and I got us a really nice Lodge to stay in and was it around your birthday time or no when was it it was May why did we specifically go just because of the time of the year yeah and Mum and Dad were there like oh your mom and dad were there that was I knew there was a reason we went yes they um so we we had a lot didn't we and I said look let's save up and let's let's get a nice Lodge and this Lodge was amazing it was up in the hills and then you walk down and at the bottom of the hill there was um like a big um like a hunger kind of style Barn thing and in there it was like a pool table tennis table tennis and he had a little shed where you could um get the oars for the bolts out and they had boats like all moored up and you could go and get in them and go for like a row about and that and we I think we walked a lot and we rode a lot in the rain yeah we rode to Castle in the middle of a walk in the winds I can't even I'm not joking we rode about 10 times and got blown back about eight times tough road it was hard but we got there didn't we said right we're gonna pick the day where we wanted to go to that castle on the island for like forever yeah there's like a locking right in the middle of this rock there's an island with a castle on it and uh yeah we decided to roll out and we said we'll wait for the rain to stop and the rain stopped but the wind was just knocked on it but it was great when we're coming back I think I did about 60 miles an hour on the way back speaking of Scotland loganair ATR 72 . did you have any uh shortbread while you were there [Music] no I don't think there's like I think they provided some yeah where we were it was like in the highlands and I'm not joking to get to the shops was like a half an hour drive and to get to the nearest town was over an hour whoa yes start the Sterling it's like the Big Town Sterling's like an hour away that's what I'm saying if you want to go to a big town it's like an hour away yeah but we were in the village of crane Larry so they have a development we're about 20 minutes away from killing so they have like you know Co-op and a little High Street and stuff there it's exactly what I just said didn't it so we're about half an hour from the shop yeah but that's a massive would have been amazing as well well the problem was is it never really went dark yeah while we were there we did have a clear night because you went out around midnight one with your camera at one point and and it was just still still so you know just as the sun's set you get that kind of light coming up from the Horizon even at midnight that was still there yeah like Twilight yeah it never really went properly dark I mean it was it was amazed coming up to like longest day wasn't it so yeah so you just saying we cruised in April a couple of years ago around the Scottish Isles it was uh beautiful so scenic and lovely and warm it can be warm but I mean look at the other years me and you have been we've got a sunburned yeah we are fishing on the Rock and come back so we have the Singapore Airlines a350 900 heading off to Singapore flight 51 that's going to be the next departure about lots of things and well it's got Turkish Airlines A330 300 series heading back to Istanbul now uh pushing back at terminal one so my mom just WhatsApp me and said give over well that rowing is character building it was muscle building I can see that I've never been to the uh Scottish Highlands I think that's so weird for me the dream is to do the um the NC 500 though which yeah it would be epic and I'd love to even do like a vlog or something or take my camera and get loads of videos maybe even you guys would find that entertaining I don't know yeah just like fly this hurt just come straight through the Middle where we were still there's nuts on it I would have been dope though to see that herc camera away and everything haven't you what was the one where you're on a boat and it flew over your head that was um an a400 yeah and that was when we were just out for a row on the lock do you remember yeah that was our little first trip out wasn't it yeah and it as soon as I got back but I enjoyed using it and I love the pictures that I got that I just kept it nice the NC 500 though is stunning I'd actually do it in reverse though because um you're meant to go clockwise starting at like the aisle well Inverness to the Isle of sky and then go up yeah but apparently that means that all the most scenic views are at the start the first half and the second half isn't as spectacular you kind of want it the other way around don't you yeah you want to like keep the best for last and the Isle of Skye I've never been there but that looks unbelievable it's gorgeous it's a long long time to get there and it's like everything's a long way away from everything yeah that's that's the Super Bowl yeah when we were there talking about to the nearest like it's like something yeah but you know we had a little house on a beach yeah with like nobody nobody came around because it was just like quite remote yeah and we had them I think porpoises I don't know what the floor of the pop pops we have porpoises on the beach anyway so yeah that was that was epic the scenery there was amazing yeah I'd love I'd love to get back there but I think you'd have to do it in sort of like a do it as like a trip a road trip yeah I wouldn't mind having a couple of days somewhere like that but I think spending a week or two somewhere though [Music] my dad was a DNC 500 he's done it a few times and like obviously you've got to drive to Inverness which is a starting point and that alone is like a seven hour drive yeah just to get to the start as well yeah that's why you'd have to do it make a road trip not just focus on oh we're going there and it's going to take so many yeah you do like four hours stopped for a couple of days and then yeah do the last three up there or something yeah just like plan it out plan all the things you want to see like along the way because there's some gorgeous scenery on you know just on the way up there the way we drove home last time was past um Loch bloman which is absolutely massive expansive water we were driving for yeah it just seems such a long time and you're literally driving along the edge of it so yeah that was in and going out or do you just kind of land in a bit where you want and then just like pretend you're a bolt for the rest of the trip so many experience yeah it seemed like the latter I assume because it is just a boat then isn't it like boat rules apply I know but when you they must have a designated section that's like marked out for what it would be like the makeshift landing strip or like GoPros it all and it's it's really good actually I've watched I've done a few of them now but just like it's just so you're not like just staring at a wall or like yeah random Telly or something and some of them actually um it is like a proper workout it shows you on the screen how many miles they've done and you kind of go along with it so nice it's really cool I did um I did 40 minute walk around Disney World Florida the other night that's a good one actually yeah it was fun yeah because like in the gym like modern treadmills and stuff they have like displays on them where you can like go in and go on Netflix and Spotify and all that you could literally just watch like an entire series on Netflix while you're doing a walk I know it's cool it's actually really genius what I used to do was I used to do like I don't know I I don't know if yours does it but you can some of the high-end ones you can do an incline on it yeah yeah yeah I saw some of the workout like someone was recommending a workout where you do like you know you know flat walk in you vary it up a bit but I was like oh I could maybe prop mine up but I don't think that would work um very warm welcome to painted in this I think like three odd maybe someone in the chat one though but uh yeah it's awesome to see the destination Dubai special scheme which we often refer to as the smarties special this particular plane was painted in a scheme for the Emirates Expo 2022 which featured the woman you see on the side there saying see you there on top of the um [Music] what's the tallest building in the world tourist Tower got to be brave to do that on you yeah and everyone thought it was CGI and then they released a video of them proving that it was real yeah I don't know if she was actually cabin crew though I think that was the only thing that was a bit of a I wouldn't say disappointment but wouldn't you like an adventure person or something yeah she's like a stunt woman but I can't remember like maybe she was something that worked for a maybe she was cabin crew but she also did that as well I can't remember I remember talking about this in the chat at the time and there was like so many people saying like different things yeah [Applause] you're part of the magic is still the text on the side though just rebranded as a generic visit Dubai aircraft and spectacular paintwork the most the devil oh it's getting heavy now oh not much spray at the moment surprising I thought it'd be more I guess give it a little bit of time to build up the visibility's dropped right down though the 747s and and uh honestly so many good guests um so I'd highly recommend that I do tend to watch quite a lot on on playback because Friday Friday and Saturdays are our days off you see and then as a result the Friday evening and a Saturday daytime I'm easy out and about basically if he's got plans family and things so it's very rare I'm actually just sat doing you know watching podcasts or or anything like that on a Friday night so I do usually watch you your podcast back and I know when I do watch them back I see a lot of airliners live people in the chat as well which is quite nice I members can apply for one in May which I believe is a tour of the Manchester Airport police station and then one in the months following that I forget when I guess June or July is the Harden airport tour so I think I might apply for one of them guys honest because we are members of the aviation society and we do work a lot together as well they actually uh are instrumental in providing this particular streaming location which is the RVP control tower which is used on weekends to provide real-time commentary to the park you hear on our Sunday shows huge shout out to them guys go give them a follow and uh and show some support their way on social medias and I believe the membership is only like 15 or 16 pounds for a year well worth it just for the magazines alone [Music] [Music] [Music] elaborate so um on all our Manchester shows now we play a little bingo game for you guys to play along at home interactive Style where you can click the link that nightbot puts in the chat it generates you a unique bingo card and you know some of the Bingo squares can be like particular Airlines or particular things we might see at the RVP or more jokingly things we could say on the Stream and the goal is to get a whole line from you know top to bottom left to right diagonal that's called a bingo or if you want to get through two lines or ultimately the ultimate goal is to get Full House now if you just join in later on in the Stream like this where you've really got like 20 minutes left then um you add a bit of a disadvantage but if you are able to tune in earlier and get more time on the stream to play along then that would be beneficial to you I I don't I I don't I've only ever verified one person getting Full House this uh since we started playing last week and it's the third ever stream we're doing that on yeah cheers I got cookies yeah I uh it's it's actually an idea I had a while ago and I said it on stream and then just never followed up and it kind of went home made a version that I could edit the squares for so we could have our own custom squares and silly things on there and she already catch it out with loads of like different you know things you'd see on the stream even like G Crow A320 Qatar so I only had I just added a few meme ones there basically but yeah it's it's something to play along with I guess some actual level of uh fun to the streams I've got a looks like a jet2 737 800 I'm about to touch down but if a crush went today and we just had a big spell of rain wash across the Airfield where the visibility drops so low that you still
