in this video I'm gonna show you how you can make your own pandemic preparedness kit this is a basic set of supplies for immune system boosters in addition to disinfectants so you can leverage as a precautionary measure during a potential pandemic situation at the time of the making of this video the Wuhan corona virus is very big right now everyone in the world is watching but this particular kit could really be used for any type of flu like pandemic situation there's a lot to cover in this video so let's get right down to it this is how to make a pandemic preparedness kit let's get started if you're a new viewer to this channel and happened to stumble upon this video during a pandemic situation I'd like to welcome you to the world of emergency preparedness my name is cliff otherwise known as the urban prepper over here and I cover a lot of various preparedness topics in addition to pandemics so pandemics is just one of many preparedness topics a lot of people are concerned about earthquakes or about flooding or about fires and they could also be concerned about pandemic situations so all of the supplies that we're going to be covering in this particular video fits into my overall system of preparedness I recently created a video it's kind of a prepping 101 video that talks about my prepping architecture diagram where all of my various prepping systems fit into place so I'll make sure to include a link to that video because this is going to tie in to the topics that were covered in that one just as a quick heads up the items that are going to be covered in this pandemic preparedness kit video aren't going to be for treating cold and flu-like symptoms like having cough syrup and cough drops and things like that this is more of a precautionary measure before you get to that point so that might be covered in a future video the most important things that you should do for emergency preparedness are obtaining food and water first don't even start making a pandemic preparedness kit unless you have a good supply of food and water at home just in case you need to bunker in place it's also a good idea before building your pandemic preparedness kit to build your EDC first EDC stands for everyday carry it stands for the items that you carry in your pockets on a day-to-day basis so at a bare minimum I recommend having a flashlight a multi-tool a lighter and a folding knife and that's your basic EDC that you carry in your pockets on your person most of the items that you're gonna see in this pandemic preparedness kit are things that I already had as part my prepping system I had these stored in my hygiene module so I have various modules for preparedness food water first aid calms fire hygiene is one of them and that includes hygiene items sanitation's disinfectants things like that and so I built this particular kit specific for a pandemic preparedness kit and I'm going to give it to my mom but I feel that it is something that's scalable that you could give to every family member while the wuhan coronavirus is really big right now everyone's paying close attention to it I feel fairly comfortable with my pandemic preparedness measures that I put into place over the years now starting off many years ago when I initially planned my home preparedness system and then started expanding out from there I started doing research into various and 95 respirator masks and so I was taking a look at the flat fold versions and other versions to do some testing of those and I slowly stockpiled my n95 respirator masks way back when so half a decade ago after that I started taking a look at various gas masks and did some reviews of them the sge 403 and most recently the Mira's safety gas mask which is really nice one I'll have a link in the description box for that one if you're interested and then I started doing additional preparedness measures a few years ago we bought our home and then I started planning out my color-coded storage bins for the garage for organizing all of my various emergency preps and they're all color-coded based off of the color of prepping last summer I did a video on a DIY containment room kit for pandemic purposes so if you need to quarantine or contain someone in a room that happens to show symptoms I had the basic set of supplies to do that so a lot of plastic sheeting and duct tape basically and most recently I did my family CBRN kit which is basically a bunch of hazmat suits that are organized in a certain way for all of the members of my family so we're protected for CBRN situations so this video naturally ties in to what I've already done for my preparedness measures so without further ado let's open up the pandemic preparedness kit to start going through all the items individually as always I've included a PDF document you could download it by clicking the link in the description box below it has a list of all the items that are going to be covered in this video including links to those items if you want to purchase one for yourself let's start off first with a container itself this is the Sterilite 17 liter latching lid to container I find that it's the perfect size for this particular kit I've wrapped it in reflective tape I feel that it makes it look more like an emergency kit and the reflective tape makes it a little easier to find just in case you have to look for it at night when you shine a flashlight on it it gets really bright I have a few biohazard labels on this particular kid just to help represent what it is it helps make it stand out as well and then last I have an itemized list of all the contents that are included in this pandemic kit the first items included our hand sanitizer during this type of situation it's very important to just wash your hands constantly ideally you would do this at a sink but if you don't have quick access to a sink this alcohol-based hand sanitizer is also a good option I have three of them included in this particular kit if you look back at my prepping architecture diagram you're going to want to include one at home one in your vehicle as you're in transit and one at your offsite location like your office so again always make sure that you have quick access to hand sanitizer three is the bare minimum the next few options are for your face I don't know about you but anytime this kind of situation happens I always want to touch my face but I know you're not supposed to the first one is some Kleenex wet wipes and the second is a packet of Neutrogena makeup removing cleansing towels again this is to wipe down your face after you've wiped down your hands both of these are alcohol-free so it's a lot more gentle on your face next I have a few disinfectant wipes I'm not too particular on what brand to use so I have a few different options the first being some Clorox wipes and the second being Lysol wipes both of these clean up to 99.9% of viruses and bacteria it's good basically just to wipe everything down that you can I have two of them included in this particular kit if you look back at the prepping architecture diagram I recommend including one in your vehicle for wiping down the interior of your vehicle like your steering wheel and then the second one could be included at your offsite location for example at your desk at work so you could use it for wiping down your chair your keyboard mouse and other items that are on your desk again a few packets of disinfecting wipes next you should have multiple n95 respirator masks these particular ones are the 3m Aurora particulate disposable respirator masks they're flat fold and you could also find them with a flow valve during the time of an actual pandemic oftentimes you'll see these things are sold out all across the internet so it's best to stock on them when they are available again these respirators help protect against certain airborne contaminants I've also included around 25 biohazard specimen bags this is for disposing all of the various items that are included in this kit such as the n95 respirator masks nitrile gloves the various wipes that we discussed earlier and more any kind of sealable bag would work for this purpose but I like the biohazard ones it's what the hospitals use so it's what I use to the next item is a pack of a hundred nitrile gloves nitrile gloves protect against most chemicals and infectious agents these particular ones are 5 mil latex free powder free textured and disposable include the proper size for your particular hands again a pack of 100 nitrile gloves the next few items are you concealed carry weapons of your pandemic kit the first being some Lysol disinfectant spray again this one kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria it kills over 100 illnesses causing germs including cold and flu viruses use this to basically spray down anything that you touch for example door handles I've also included an empty glass spray bottle for when that disinfectant spray were to run out this way you could use some bleach and make your own disinfectant spray I didn't include any bleach in this particular kit because I think it's a general household item that you're always gonna have it's good to have bleach that hasn't expired yet so there's various ways that you can make your own bleach you could use pool shock or there's fancier equipment that allows you to be your own bleach dealer of the neighborhood which I covered in a previous video this particular glass spray bottle offers UV protection which protects against degradation from ultraviolet light it's BPA and lead free again spray down anything that you touch the next item that I've included are some swimming goggles this is to be used in conjunction with the n95 respirator masks if need be I recommend just carrying these as part of your EDC whether it be in your pocket or your EDC bag if you feel that the situation warrants it it's good to have these to protect your eyes these are waterproof so they'll work great for this particular purpose again just have some swimming goggles on hand if need be the next item is another one to enhance your EDC or your everyday carry this is the rothko enhanced molded latex glove pouch during a pandemic I recommend adding this type of glove pouch to your normal EDC in order to carry multiple pairs of night gloves on your person this particular one is used by law enforcement officers when they have to examine the scene of a crime you could carry multiple pairs of nitrile gloves in here this ones of really good quality and highly rated again the rothko enhanced molded and latex cloth pouch throw in multiple pairs of your nitrile gloves for EDC purposes the majority of the items that we've covered thus far are for disinfecting purposes but the next few items are for boosting your immune system during a pandemic situation I'm not a medical professional by any means so just take the next few items with a grain of salt this is just what I've included in my particular pandemic preparedness kit the first item that I have is a container of colloidal silver there's a lot of super interesting videos out there that you could watch with regard to the benefits of colloidal silver I'll include some links in the PDF document that you could download I first became interested in the healing properties of silver after the mountain RN introduced me to the silver modern wound dressings which were super expensive but I found healed wounds super quickly a lot of people use colloidal silver for immune system support this particular brand the sovereign silver has various guidelines for how you could use this whether it be for maintenance immune building long term mu building support or short term immune support again I'll provide a lot more information in the PDF document that I've included a container of colloidal silver the next item is a container of super concentrated olive leaf I first learned about olive leaf from some of my relatives who swore by it any time I got sick they said take some olive leaf it's pretty disgusting and taste however every time that I've used it when I started to feel sick I felt better olive leaf has various antioxidant antibacterial anti microbial anti-inflammatory and immune stimulating properties I use this on a daily basis when I'm starting to feel a little under the weather so a container of concentrated olive leaf the next few items are for vitamin C during flu season I usually like to have a lot of vitamin C more than the daily recommended dose so the first item is 250 tablets of a thousand vitamin C and the last item is for vitamin C it's sterasyl superfoods common camus powder Camus Camus is super rich in vitamin C vitamin C acts as a powerful antioxidant for your body and it's vital for your health for your skin and immune system cama cama could also have antibacterial properties which could help reduce blood pressure weight and blood sugar levels there's a lot of great information out there with regard to the benefits of combo combo powder it's an awesome source of vitamin C and those are all the items stored in the pandemic preparedness kit all of the items that I've included for immune system support aren't really patentable by the FDA you can't patent silver or olive oil or common cobble berries but I like leaning more towards those natural solutions over synthetic form again your needs may vary than mine so you could just take all of this with a grain of salt those are all the items that are included in this basic pandemic preparedness kit I tried to design this so it's scalable so if you wanted to you could replicate this easily and make a whole bunch of different versions maybe one for each member of your family and as you're building your supplies up maybe this particular Sterilite storage case is going to be too small and you could just get a larger storage case and have it in the garage or in a different location with your other emergency preps so for all of the new viewers that are taking a look at pandemic preparedness I like to encourage you to continue with your journey in emergency preparedness there's a lot of other topics in a relation to emergency preparedness that you could take a look at including pandemic preparedness so for me personally I get a lot of peace of mind every time that I'm able to chip away at some of the various preparedness measures whether it's fire earthquake food storage or even pandemic preparedness and it gives me a peace of mind that I need to protect myself and most importantly my family so in regards to the current situation with the Lujan coronavirus at least at the time of the making of this video it's a situation that I'm monitoring closely and just trying to figure out the best course of action on a day to day basis I haven't gotten to the point where I'm ready to roll out the DIY containment room kit or put my family in hazmat suits at this time so as of right now I'm treating this current situation as any other normal flu season and that's paying close attention to boosting my immune system in addition to disinfecting everything so channeling your inner OCD and constantly washing their hands when you're going to and from work and when you're in contact with other people constantly wiping down surfaces washing my hands and having all the supplies needed for that so at the time of the making of this video I'm monitoring the situation closely but I'm not in panic mode yet I hope that you guys enjoyed
