Overgrown Oak Tree Trimming W/Handtools | Another Avoidable Mistake

hi this is Brad with Copper Creek cuts a lot oh wait a second okay that's better hi this is Brad with Copper Creek cuts a lawn care company in Northeast Florida and today as you might be able to guess we're gonna clean up this oak tree now this is actually the property of a good acquaintance of mine who they just purchased this home I think it's their first cheap person that I am in lieu of a homecoming gift I just said well hey why don't I help you with some some of the lawn care so you know spruce up your yard a bit so he was happy with that and I was happy I didn't have to go buy a crock pot or whatever you get people with me buy a home but yeah so this is one thing that if he decides to do the lawn himself or if he hire somebody this is a real pain in the rump you can see that the whole thing needs to be shaped and me I don't even know if you really want to spend a whole lot of time shaping an oak tree but at least all these low branches they need to go they're really really no good for any type of yard working you can't see the house because of them and whole lot of stuff they just don't look good so we are going to dump everything at the curb and let the city pick it up so we shouldn't have to waste too much time cleaning up or going to a dump or anything like that let's get to it [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so I don't know if that just showed up or not but um if I didn't have these gloves on I probably would have sliced my finger pretty good I was holding the branch like this and so on hearing slip came and caught me right there I just barely broke the skin when the glove doesn't seem too bad something anyways if I wouldn't had the glove on this would have been a very different different ending probably would have been having to go to the hospital house a little terrifying [Music] yeah I think that about sums it up last branch kid smacks me in the face that feels about right [Music] alright so if you ever wondered what it takes to get Brad to untuck the pole oh there you go it's a tree-trimming job that I didn't plan for very well so let's see I'm sure what do they call them keyboard warriors armchair quarterbacks I'm sure a lot of folks will have a lot to say about this job let's see Brad some of what you did wasn't really safe I agree why didn't you use a ladder you should have brought a ladder yes I agree why didn't you use power equipment you should use power equipment yes I agree I should have why didn't you use the loppers well the loppers actually I left him out in the rain a couple times and they seized up on me I could open them like from here to here but I couldn't close them any further than this so that lasted me all of about two cuts and everything bigger I had to saw you should have pruned it to the lateral bud at a 45 degree angle yeah I'm sure I should have been this was just to get it looking a little bit more presentable this wasn't a perfect job the main goal was just to lift everything up to about arms an outreach storm so they can walk under it somebody needs to mow they can I personally think it looks a lot better I think being able to see the house is a lot nicer I think that it just makes the house feel less like a rental property which is I think what it was before they bought it and more like a home the other thing there that if I wasn't wearing gloves I'm not sure if I caught it on camera but there was an instant layer where because of my poor technique I if I wasn't wearing gloves I'm pretty sure I would have sliced my thumb at least down to the bone so that could have been bad but in any case I hope you enjoyed this another foible of mine I really don't know why I don't plan better for these things I think one because it's the weekend and two because it's you know just me doing work for a friend and not for hire that for some reason in my head I just don't think of it like well of course I need the pole saw so I can get in and out as quick as possible you know I looked at this tree when we were moving in I was like oh yeah I could do that with a you know a couple of hand tools shouldn't be too bad but I didn't really actually look at it you know like I would have if I were quoting it I don't know if that's just me or if you guys do that too when it comes to work around the house or for friends but in any case I hope you enjoyed this video if you'd like to see some more you can tell when I go into the script - if you'd like to see some more here a couple YouTube think you might like in any case police kids are subscribing and clicking the notification Bell for updates otherwise YouTube won't let you know when I upload new videos thanks so much for watching I really do appreciate it [Music]
