hi this is Brad with Copper Creek cuts a lawn care company in Northeast Florida and today as you can see we've got some fountain grasses that need trimming so now I think the only flaw in my plan is that I didn't bring enough duct tape I didn't anticipate how much it would take [Music] well today is a new day I already learned a couple of things you see me start out without glasses and you saw me Adam these little guys have a way of finding their way right into your eyeball when you least expect so yeah you need you need some safety glasses one thing I noticed is that with those trash cans I had I was losing some storage space in the trash bags because the trash bags were bigger than the trash cans so I'm actually gonna try loading these without any type of trash cans just to the trash bags and see how that works I think at first it'll be a little more cumbersome but once I get some in there and they're weighted down it should go okay and then I also have a whole box of bungees I went and I spent about $20 I think on another 40 bungees is that right are they about a 50 cents apiece I figured over over the course of time that would be cheaper than buying rolls of duct tape and probably better for the environment not that I particularly care about that but it would be better so today the plan is we're gonna Bungie all of them we're gonna cut all of them and then we're gonna clean up all of them each one its own step without having to jump around too much I think that'll make the job go a lot better so anyways let's get started on this pile [Music] you always got to worry about the Sun when you're filming stuff it's not good to shoot into the Sun so now I've got to change everything because we've got the Sun rising over there another thing I'm learning is that these bungees I mean I guess they're environmentally friendly and eventually they'll be cheaper than duct tape but they get tangled all together so it's I don't I don't know if it's quicker than using duct tape but like I said this whole video is just kind of a series of blunders on my part that hopefully you can learn from so just keep that in mind - it's like a barrel of monkeys [Music] you can't just make this stuff up the the comedy of errors continue so the 40 bungees that I thought was gonna be more than enough you got a handful left and I still have all that left to do don't be like me kids plan better for your fountain grass jobs [Music] and this might be taking the place is one of the worst lawn care experiences I just cut through like three bungees and the other thing that I didn't think about is that the bungees that I did two and three of as soon as I cut all of them they're gonna fall apart because there's no pressure holding them together so this is gonna be a real big pain in the rear end and I think I don't care about the environment I should be done duct tape [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so I've had about 15 things go wrong or not as planned on this project it was a pretty good catch [Music] and at this point I figure it might as well embrace how horrible this job has become and just go a step further so the bungees have not worked out quite like I had hoped and I think duct tape would have been the way to go but now the next thing I want to see is do I even need to wrap them at all because since they're all fallen over with the bungees anyways and because they're so big I'm having to pick everything up off the ground anyways and then go back and clean it up with the hedge trimmer so can I get away with even wrapping these things or can I get away with not wrapping these things at all and that's what I'm gonna try next the reason I even decided to start wrapping it is because I saw other people wrap it as I think back those were three or four fountain grasses in the middle of beds this is just a huge bed of fountain grass so it doesn't matter a fountain grass falls on fountain grass it's all going to get picked up together so I'm going to see if I even need to wrap these things at least in this application where there's a whole bed of fountain grass [Music] [Music] so we're done except for sweeping Grayson's helping me with that well he was but anyways if you're curious this was I'd say 60 cc's this is about 70 plants all in this area that went over there that one only had 50 and then this one's about 60 so if you want to know what 60 fountain grasses make as far as trash its 750 gallon trash bags full of debris so you can kind of use that as a gauge for your pricing and estimation I don't know which way was better I probably spent just as much time picking up the clippings as if I would have spent wrapping everything and I don't know the only thing I know is I'm glad I only have to do this one time of year because it was miserable [Music]
