hello everyone hello as promised and having returned from germany we wanted to share some german swedes yeah and the good thing is that we went by car so we could bring some bits and bobs yes the trunk was full of sweets not too full enough and you know what yeah i think you have to take that with you to the office or else i'm going to explode no i've already taken a lot of stuff to the office don't you hide it from me i'll eat it yes um yeah and there are some things that we we've known all our lives i think yeah we've grown up with it yeah and as always there are i've mentioned it several times but we are so lucky that the channel is growing happy i mean we are so happy so and if you're new to our channel it's great to see you and welcome to all the people who've been following us for quite a while but i thought i would mention again i've been eating gluten free for over 20 years so i can't have everything which is good for me yes i was going to say that's good for you what would you like to show first these ones oh yeah we've known that all our lives and we've always eaten that i mean you still do in front of the tv on a saturday night yes and they're simply sticks they are like they are basically the same thing as salted pretzels yeah just as sticks they taste very similar we don't really get them here do we no they're not coming in no not really common and yeah you really like them yeah especially the salty bits yes and they go very good with a beer oh you know what we forgot the beer we will we will we will we will get a beer towards the end of the video so stay tuned because i just remember that we totally forgot beer which is not good yeah and that's the other half of our trunk the other half of our trunk yeah yeah yeah [Music] his favorite german beer is that correct and um you know what goes with that i would say this one this is something we love as well you know i like them you love them yes that's true in german they are called flippies so they are like um peanut butter a peanut butter snack yeah yeah yeah yeah yes look they look like this and we i don't know about you we like in um in our area we we also call them verma no you don't have that i don't know how we call common but they are really good yeah they are good yeah have you ever seen them in the same we eat them you can eat them in front of the tv not just like crisps yes salt sticks have you ever seen them here no i can't remember seeing them sometimes here um little sometimes has like so-called german wheats and then they sell just traditional german stuff so you could find them during those weeks yeah so one thing you said in one of our recent videos that you would like to bring from germany is this gummy bears yes don't we have to say we sometimes get them here in the uk yeah um i don't know at tesco no the thing is they don't sell gummy bears they sell haribo yeah but different types and where do you buy them when you sometimes you get them a little okay yeah uh sometimes an army yes okay and they are just a different structure than compared to the wine gums yeah yeah slightly totally drunk very sweet and soft they are soft i love them they are just softer i'm not i do eat them but i'm not mad about them never was you've always been mad about them now the next thing i'm quite nostalgic about it because my mother always bought them on a saturday um when we had some sort of milkman coming around and she bought them and they are um some sort of snowballs chocolates novels this is the packaging and they look like this and we were in luck uh two years ago when we went to the manchester christmas market there was a stand selling different kinds of snowballs from cologne and yeah they they are really good and i don't know we've done this since we were children i don't know about other germans watching this let us know if you do the same thing yeah we did it as children yes it's still good and we put it on a roll and then simply crush it and then eat it it's very sweet but it's good it's really good just take a roll and then i don't know these are the traditional these ones are the big ones so in german they are called super digmans and for children though we of course like it as well and there are small ones available as well and they look like this so tiny ones white chocolate some milk chocolate and dark chocolate is good really good children love them yes so they are part of every german birthday party yes yeah i think there's also i've never done it um several cake recipes with these so worth checking out as well are you hungry now next up should be tokyo yes that's also the kind of sweet treat i grew up with yes the longest truffle in the world yeah they used to call it years ago yeah it's really good and it is um a kind of biscuit i would say and has some is it hazelnut filling chocolate hazelnut filling yeah it looks like it looks like wood it's good unfortunately has a biscuit so you can only eat it yeah but it's really good what's next yeah ones and we already opened one also a biscuit with some hazelnut filling but it tastes different than duplo i don't know what makes it different that's funny it just it is it tastes completely different it's and i would say it's fulfilling yeah because the filling tastes different this is lovely with with a tea yes and just for your information we never throw away food especially not the one we bought in germany and you will eat it later just not all of it now um yeah that's really good and then what would you say now this one yeah yeah here yes some kind of rice cracker with chocolate covering yes yeah look what's it look like but it's not it's a bit hard to describe because it's not entirely the same as the rice cracker just it's similar but i would say it's better yeah because it's totally soaked up with chocolate yeah so that is makes it different now what's next let me take this one okay chocolate bananas oh yes yeah they're not germany they're from austria yeah and i remember when we left in bavaria you basically bought them every weekend because i like them very much yeah and they look like tiny bananas and the filling is it's banana yeah and it tastes like banana it smells like bananas can i smell yeah you can eat them they don't contain gluten so i'm not sure try it yeah they do yeah they do taste a lot like banana really good yeah that's nice yeah they're lovely and you know what speaking of austria many things from austria so popular in germany for example these ones mozart so can you say more about them yeah tiny truffles and they're filling with is it pistachio and chocolate and marzipan and nuts i really feel good so mozart was born in science for austria and if you should plan a visit you should go there because it's beautiful it's absolutely beautiful and of course you can get the original water cooling there as well because i think not all of them are the originals and they don't taste the same these are the original ones yeah to confuse you you buy them in austria that made your journey yeah yeah these ones are made in germany so that is really strange but they are very good especially with this type of filling very sweet good pistachio and marzipan yeah and i don't want it noisy i hate that the rest it's good really good and now speaking of marzipan i think us germans are crazy about monsters yes especially at christmas time yeah yeah very true and there is a very famous and popular brand in germany from lubeck yeah because i think that's a capital of marzipan in germany yeah nida marzipan which is so good and this one this is something we really buy around the festive season yeah and it's the shape of the loaf basically in chocolate yes so we don't open this but we have something that always makes a wonderful present and these are masculine hearts yeah and what you also can get is and i remember them because we always had them and when i was a child now potatoes a small potato a small monster burn looking like potatoes yes and i think you can get them a little yeah i think you can you can get them so these are uh hearts oh i'll give you my heart and you know what but she already got my house it's quite fitting because we haven't told you it's our wedding anniversary today yeah 28 years 28 years crazy i'm just a bit sad because around this time very often my parents visit they were here last year and we went to a very nice park and just had an amazing three weeks together yeah together yeah so hello yes and uh i'm a bit shocked okay yeah i was going to say they don't look fresh anymore but i think that is because of their car ride and the heat yeah not because usually needle egg is perfect yeah um this is just because because of the heat so shall we get separated but your mom hates marzipan she always says you don't have to give me marzipan but we really like it and this is something we can um link in the description box hot chocolate yeah from nida which is amazing yeah it's very concrete yeah and i think i have to check i'm pretty sure that they ship worldwide so yeah so have a look um we will link it down in the info box and yeah yeah one more sweet treat yeah the last one yes this one it's called prince and water yes yeah and it's kind of princess i know not princess friends prince a prince it's a hymn and um it's a biscuit yeah with a chocolate filling again yeah so you see we germans love chocolate it seems it really seems so yes and this has been around i don't know what does it say because yeah i've known i don't know since since i was born yeah i've known that all my life so i think probably that the prince has changed somewhat well this is just of course a selection with some of the things we really like there's a lot more but some things are just quite essentially german i would say and yeah i will make sure to link this because these ones make a nice present yeah and we as promised we have something else yeah we wouldn't forget that beer yeah so that's my favorite beer yes yeah it's from a small brewery in germany is it another brewery is it in the black forest it's in a black forest okay yeah yes but it's not a big one but the beer is just good it's a hot house yeah and the beer itself is called tannen yeah a very it's such a cute name yeah it's a traditional german name yeah yeah you just love it a brand which has been in germany for years and years and years does it say um it says the brewery has been around since 1791 so quite a while and yeah you just love it i just love it yeah yeah is it what i find interesting i just want to know like what you really like bears here yeah um would you say your favorite your favorite british beer if you have one um does it come close or even is just different so you couldn't say this one is better it's just different okay this just tastes like german does it really yes it does that's nice yes and it really goes to excellent with the sticks yes but do you think because sometimes you get german beer here um at tesco yeah probably not this one that's yeah because the german bay you can hear is bavarian beer yes that's not a bavarian brand yeah it's true if you should come across it give it a try yeah um yeah and i know you can order it online oh yeah this in the uk there are so called beer clubs which sell it really yes that's interesting but the price is horrendous uh yeah i can imagine yeah well i've never seen it in a store um i would like i will have to check the price because well i mean some people are just willing to pay any price i've seen it once and everything i think it was 2.50 per bottle and in germany you can get for probably now half a six-pack it's crazy well the only thing you can do is just drink less but then enjoy yes if you can yeah well anything else no not today well we hope you like the video this is um has just been a little inside um into our sweet treats yeah and yeah just let us know what you think uh if you have any questions let us know in the comments below we always like to hear from you and yeah stay tuned for the next video um which should come out this week as well yeah and yeah take care stay safe yes stay safe see you soon see you very soon bye bye bye
