ONLY JESUS — A Message from Michael Koulianos

for about the next 15 minutes i'm just gonna ask if possible that no one move around oh jesus we love you yeah feel free you know i just had the honor of committing jessica's grandmother's body to the ground in the funeral last week and her and her husband built one of the largest churches in america during the jesus movement and you realize in those moments what really matters in life even as a preacher or somebody who leads a ministry you're in that moment when you close your eyes it's really not about our achievements it's about his god's measurables are way different than ours god's standard is much different than ours i just want to say how many of you are preachers in this room that should be all of you how many of you would lead a church or a ministry full-time or your even a sunday school teacher okay we don't have the luxury in this hour to preach what we want god doesn't anoint us to give ted talks so i don't not there's anything wrong with him but make no bones about it preachers raise the dead and god doesn't change your life when you get saved he replaces your life when you get sick we just don't have the luxury anymore jesus is coming back there's a spirit after the church that's trying to divide us but the moment you're born again before you're anything you're his could i say that again if the church in america would get this we'd see a huge breakthrough before i'm an american i'm a christian before i'm greek i belong to jesus the reason i'm preaching the gospel tonight is because i was like many of you grew up in church in many ways my wife attended oral roberts university paul paul asked her if she'd ever been here she said no i didn't go to church when i was at oru i run a ministry school now actually my wife runs it i get to preach there and work for her but your attendance tonight is not proof of your salvation his residence is proof of your salvation and the hour is just far too late to gamble with your soul i didn't come tonight because i needed another i needed to preach i feel like i'm on an assignment to preach jesus and watch him rip you out of the clutches of satan and convey you into the kingdom of his glorious life the gospel is a person named jesus unfortunately it's possible that if you lined up 10 preachers in america today and asked them what the gospel was you might get seven versions but there's one gospel just one because there's one jesus you know that church is about jesus did you know that church is not about church you can't franchise church if jesus isn't in the building it's not a church [Applause] it's not it's a building it might be a kiwanis club or a moose lodge but it's not a church it in order for it to be a church jesus has to be in the room that's matthew 18 20. if two or three gather in my name i will be there even in the midst of them that is the distinguishing factor of the church is jesus here is he with us the steeple doesn't guarantee it the cross on the steeple doesn't guarantee it see many people start organizations but only the holy spirit can start a ministry can i just i don't know i might get in trouble tonight but i'm look look to all you songwriters out there i'd be so happy if you wrote songs about jesus rather than how you're doing now it might be good to hear but that's not worship somebody asked us how do y'all keep people in your church singing for an hour and a half they said what happens if they leave i said i don't know what happens i guess they leave i don't know where they go but the church is not about people it's a people who are about jesus so the reality is is the church is the house of the lord and the bible is not about the bible i just said that in tulsa but it's not the bible according to the author is about him i've learned something if somebody writes a book take their version and jesus said the scriptures speak of me but you won't come to me he said ye search the scriptures and i'm all about the scriptures don't get me wrong our students are in the scriptures nonstop i love what bill johnson says he said if you don't meet him while you're reading you're just better equipped to debate somebody yeah i know it's a bill-ism and it's really good and they always are the scriptures are about jesus and you're not worshiping until you forget you are the moment you forget you you have entered into true worship prayer is not about the mechanism as much as it is about the one we pray to jesus true prayer occurs when his presence overshadows the act and he blinds me to everything but him just stay with me i'm going somewhere the christian life is christ himself heaven is about jesus the bible says there is a lamb in the midst of the throne there is no sun in heaven because there is no need because the sun as so in is the eternal light of heaven there is no tabernacle in heaven because jesus himself in the holy city of the new jerusalem is the tabernacle of the people so heaven is about jesus prayer is about jesus the bible is about jesus worship is about jesus church is the house of jesus that we are invited into and the kingdom without the king is dumb any theology that disconnects from the person becomes an idol this thing is about him and when you meet him you lose your right to think the way you want because before jesus is your homeboy he's the king of glory which means he can tell me what to do i know you're like i've never heard this before then you haven't heard the gospel jesus is not a life coach the lord of the lord and his presence is measurable in other words you know when he shows up the reason you know when he shows up is because he's a king and whatever is less than him must bow its knee sickness sin bondage perversion pride stupid comments oh it's sad to spend three hours of your day trying to be right online and the whole time you're wrong i would but i forgot it can i tell you about jesus tonight can i tell you about jesus tonight jesus is the father's only sermon if you gave the father a bullhorn not that he needs one his voice is as many waters but if you gave him a bullhorn and said you have 27 minutes to preach like many of us pastors do to preachers you have 27 minutes we want them all healed saved filled the holy spirit in 27 minutes yes sir i'll do what i can do if you gave the father a bullhorn according to the new testament he would say one thing this is my son the father has one thing on his mind his son jesus because he is a good father jesus is the father's will in flesh hebrews 1 says in times past god spoke to the fathers ancient israel by the prophets in many ways but in these last days god has spoken to us by his son that's what hebrews says jesus is the father's final sermon to humanity so if you change the subject you're changing god's subject and jesus and listen up jesus and according to the scriptures it's not weakness it's adultery hosea says you've found other lovers you've played the harlot you've taken on other gods you didn't all leave jehovah necessarily but you've just added to him do you realize how magnificent he is ever thought about what it was like for the father to offer his son what was heaven like when jesus became a little baby we talk about humility how humble is jesus to not just become a baby but to be the seed in the womb of a woman that helps church building if you can communicate that then people stop caring if they're on the platform how hidden was jesus well he's the seed in the womb of a woman and this jesus he lived a perfect life a sinless life perfectly revealing the father so much so that philip said lord show us the father and jesus said don't you know when you see me you see the father so tonight if you're in this room and you're wondering what is the father like look no further than jesus he is god's will in flesh they asked jesus what is the will of the father he said the will of the father is to cling to the sun cling to the sun you say i don't know i don't know what god wants of me this is what he wants of you to cling to the sun you say well what what what do i do with open doors and closed doors who cares go to the door this jesus the preincarnate second person of the godhead who knows no beginning became a man i want you to think of that when he took a nap on the bow of the boat it was not symbolic god tasted what it was like to be tired when jesus said i'm hungry he meant it he said i'm hungry or when he hung on the cross and said i thirst he meant it friend tonight if you're wondering if god loves you you don't ever need to wonder again and this jesus walked the streets lined with prostitutes went to his hometown to heal them all they wanted to throw him off a cliff spent all night in prayer many nights one night just to pick his leadership team he picks people much differently he's phenomenal phenomenal god and man all at the same time lion and lamb at the same time on the same day this jesus powerful enough to raise the dead with the spoken word and wash feet because he's so meek there's no one like him you see our king has a name and it's become too cloudy in our circles some of us are more about revival than the lamb of god and i'm here to tell you he's a revival adam lived in the dew of the garden that's why he never cried out for rain i'll never forget the lord saying michael i've heard you heard you crying out for revival for three years and you forgot to tell me you loved me he's phenomenal you say what does the father feel about hunger well just look at jesus he multiplies fish and bread maybe tonight you're wondering how you're going to pay your bills jesus paid his taxes with a coin from a fish's mouth he's not nervous you shouldn't be nervous either how does jesus feel about the sick well he emptied out entire villages of the sick how does jesus feel about deliverance he cast out devils with a spoken word see here's the deal i'm not inviting you tonight to christianity i'm inviting you to christ i know what it's like to walk in a room like this bound by addiction and sadly at some point we believe the lie that we're just in process in bondage is our inheritance if jesus isn't powerful enough to deliver us from porn how does he hold the cosmos in place a great man said if i have to wait until i'm dead to be free that means death is my savior and jesus is not you see there's a way to know if you're born again there's a way to know if you're truly saved there's a way to know if jesus truly lives in you it looks like something sin is not the inheritance of the saints jesus said he who sins is a slave to sin he said whom the sun sets free is free in deed [Applause] this jesus took on our weakness as humans gave his life to his twelve one betrayed him betrayed him in the midst of a covenant being offered they handed him over to his captors and for the first time ever man would brutally beat god man ripped the beard from the face of god psalm 88 says my eyes waste away due to grief they so beat his face his eyes wasted away and they tied him to a whipping post to purchase your healing but they didn't need to tie him jesus would have held on just for you i said jesus would have held on just for you jesus would have held on i'll say it again in case it didn't move you the second time jesus would have held on just for you and after they mocked him the face of jesus became the collision point for the worst man could offer and the best god could offer the spit and saliva of men collided with the blood of the holy lamb of god and jesus won i said and jesus won you should give him praise [Applause] and as i'm preaching maybe you feel exposed i'm not here to shame you but i do want the holy spirit to convict you jesus was stripped naked so that you would be clothed in his glory the son of god stripped naked in shame nailed to a tree john can you come help me nailed to a tree suspended in the sky between heaven and hell so that hell would not be your home this is the gospel and as jesus bled the price was paid for your soul because the bible says without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin no removal and jesus literally bled until he died [Music] psalm 22 says i poured out my life he poured out his life as an offering and the scripture says it pleased the father to crush him friend god loves you he proved it and then jesus uttered these words it is finished finished he committed his spirit to the father and immediately he descended into the underworld first peter chapter 3 and destroyed the grave listen up look into my eyes and destroyed the grave so you wouldn't fear it you see at the core listen up at the core america's not so afraid of a virus they're afraid to die you're not claustrophobic you're afraid to die you're not afraid of airplanes you're afraid to die but jesus destroyed the grave he crawled down into the underworld through humility and death and faced off with the one hebrews 2 says this he faced off the one who held the power of death and destroyed the devil so that the great tyrant of the fear of death would leave his people i don't know what he did down there for three days the bible doesn't tell us exactly i just know he climbed on down there and the scripture says he made an open show of the devil in every demon and he took captivity captive because he's that good and the scripture says three days later the ground could not hold them the scripture actually says this it was not possible that the grave hold him how could the dirt hold the one who holds the dirt together [Applause] and when he came out of the ground his friends came out with him read your bible it's all there i'm not making up any of this the scripture says that after he was raised from the dead that the saints were raised with him and they walked around the holy city of jerusalem i want to jump on the front row right now are you hearing me the saints came out of the grave and started walking around jerusalem this isn't it's mysterious in one way but this is very real in another the grave will not hold you if you come to jesus [Applause] and then he showed up to his disciples he said i'm hungry you have any food had a few bible studies with them how many of you know that you'd listen up if the resurrected christ opened the scriptures and you know what he talked to them about every scripture pertaining to him what if the church did that what if we followed our lord what if god's only sermon became our only sermon what if the heartbeat of the father became i dare every worship leader in here for a month to sing to jesus every time you will be overwhelmed by his presence i promise you every preacher start preaching jesus every bible teacher starts showing them who he is in the scriptures look america needs jesus it's our time it's our time we have to hit put it in sixth gear right now and with a laser focus say this he is my faith he's my only message he is my only obsession he is my only topic he is my food he is my drink he is my lord he is my king my savior my bridegroom my protection my great high priest the one who justifies me the one who redeems me the one who lifts me the one who keeps me lowly wonderful he's wonderful and i feel him in the room now [Music] and then jesus ascended on high that's what ephesians 4 says he who descended also ascended that he might fill listen to these words that he might fill everything with him huh he who descended also ascended that he might fill everything with himself wherever he goes the train of his robe follows him whatever he touches is charged with his presence you don't need a sermon tonight you need him to touch you you need him to touch you and today tonight at 9 19 p.m jesus is on a throne at the right hand of the father completely unimpressed by all the nations who mock him tonight he is secure he is immovable you can't elect him you cannot impeach him [Music] he's the king and he's got the name above every single name and this is why he earned the name above every name philippians 2 tells us because he died of death even the death of the cross and because he died this death he has been given this glorious name the name above every name jesus christ the son of the living god friend if somebody asks you what's your favorite name of god don't you hesitate give him god's favorite name jesus is my favorite name no sweeter name than the name of jesus you whisper his name tonight do it right now just say jesus you see what happens to the room you see what happens to your heart how he makes you want to cry now say doug it won't do that jesus has the name above every name all of heaven backs that name he's the king his flooring is not wood it's glass and it's as large as a sea and it's mingled with fire and there's a rainbow in a perfect circle above his throne reminding him of the covenant and there are six swing creatures that cover their eyes because he's too glorious to behold and with two wings they ascend on high because worship takes you to the high places and with two wings they cover their feet because we are to walk in holiness allowing him to cleanse us friend if you're not walking in holiness with jesus you can tonight this same jesus who's enthroned [Music] is coming back again if you believe in christmas you should believe in his second coming people say we already came no no he didn't because the eastern sky is going to crack open like a whip and look into my eyes never forget this a man is gonna pierce the clouds a man a god man 100 percent god 100 percent man shining like the sun he's gonna crack the eastern sky like jude said with ten thousand oh i feel the lord with ten thousands of ten thousands with the clouds of heaven to render judgment on those who deny him on that day you have a choice tonight to either be his bride or his enemy he said i just wish he'd do it he did it i just shared the gospel with you say i just wish the lord would do it in me no no no he he doesn't want to do it in you he wants you to give you to him he doesn't want to change you he doesn't want to tweak you he doesn't want to adjust you he wants you he fully wants you 100 of you he wants your marriage he wants your sexuality he wants your opinions he wants your bondage give it all to him he wants everything there is such a divine satisfaction in the presence of jesus friend trust me when i tell you porn is a pale attempt it's the satisfaction of the presence of god you say how do i know how do i know if i'm saved is sin foreign to you is it foreign is sin lording over your members your body are you unable to reign in this life as the scriptures say in freedom did you start off with jesus and then move on to more deeply spiritual things [Music] was your heart burning when you first met him [Music] now tonight you sing the same songs he used to sing but the tears are gone see i'm not going to call you to an altar tonight because altars don't save people i'm calling you to jesus tonight because if you don't find jesus at the altar and find him in the call at the altar call nothing happens because the bible doesn't say for god to love the world that he sent the altar call or the baptismal tank or a track or a bible school or a bible school or a bible school or a bible school or a bible school or a ministry you have to meet the real jesus so if you weren't talking to him at the altar and speaking to him at the call you made the altar your savior and not jesus himself [Music] tonight you can be free totally free you can be so clean that he will never remember your sin again and never bring it up to you ever again he will remove you and your sin as far as the east is from the west and take your sin and throw it into a sea called forgetfulness but tonight he wants your life i'm going to pray with you in just a moment i want you to hear these words from jesus come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest take my yoke upon you learn from me for i am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light [Music] peter said make your election sure [Music] in other words there's much in life you can gamble with your soul is not one of them this world is shaking at the core [Music] don't let anyone fool you nobody has a grip on it this world cannot be trusted in this world is not our home its system enslaves people its system is crumbling and i'm telling you tonight there is a king coming [Music] whose eyes are like fire whose face shines brighter than the sun whose hands still have holes in them to remind you that while he is all-powerful he is humility personified his feet are still pierced his side is still wide open inviting you in to his heart there is no one like jesus and i am begging you tonight unashamedly to give him your life there is nothing else worth living for not stadiums not meetings i've done it all and i'm here to tell you it doesn't satisfy the soul only jesus will give you rest i want everyone in the house to stand tonight if you want listen friends do not play games if you want to give jesus your life right now you get out of your seat you come down right now you come down don't you hesitate a moment you come get clean you give your life to jesus give your life to jesus tonight young and old you come to the lord come to jesus you might be a preacher come give your life to jesus tonight you might be in bible school come give your life to jesus tonight pick up those keys john give your life to jesus all over the room if you're with someone if you're with someone and you know you know that there's a good chance that they have not yielded their life to the lord i want you to look him in the eye right now and say do you need to go down i'll go down with you i'll take you down i'll take you with me come to the fountain that still flows from emmanuel's veins it takes the sinner whose sins are as scarlet and he makes them white as snow you come get free tonight look they're coming you give the lord praise give the lord praise give the you god thank you lord thank you lord i preached the gospel just like this at cf and i about three years ago hundreds got saved and then i went to the wyoming base my friend daniel and i we preached the same gospel to white whammers to missionaries 400 got born again about come give your life to the lord oh jesus we give you praise [Music] we give you praise [Music] i'll give you praise [Music] your life jesus said if any man desire to come after me he must first deny himself take up his cross and follow me tonight you're going to put on a mantle that few people want it's a mantle of wood the cross of christ and you're going to wear it your whole life jesus tonight becomes your bridegroom [Music] you're going to give him your life and he's going to give you his what a promise are you ready i want you to lift your hands to heaven i want everyone people are already being touched by the holy spirit god can beat he can beat us to the punch they're already being filled by the holy spirit i want us to all declare this out loud we're gonna pray do not just repeat these words let them flow the best the best they can from a genuine heart are you ready say this heavenly father come on out loud heavenly father i come to you tonight a sinner save my soul cleanse my sin wash me in the precious blood of jesus jesus i believe that you died on the cross that you shed your precious blood [Music] for my sin and the sins of the world and jesus i believe that you were buried and that you are raged from the dead you are the son of god you are alive forevermore and i believe that you are seated at the right hand of the father as king of kings and lord of lords and i believe that you are coming back again to rule and reign you are worthy of my life so here it is jesus i give my
