causes us to triumph bless our lord god who blesses us in all seasons who covers us like the ladies in the field who bless us with spiritual gifts in heavenly places we can draw nigh to him because salvation is near he is the refiner he is the redeemer he is a replenisher we bless your name lord god you are worthy lord god you are worthy to be praised lord god you stretch for your hands against our enemies lord god a thousand shall fall left outside ten thousand at our right hand and none shall come by thee lord god for the bible says he that dwells in the secret place of the most high god got to say amen hallelujah brethren i count not myself to have apprehended but this one thing i do forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth until those things which are before i press somebody say press turn to your neighbor and say keep pressing hallelujah i press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of god in christ jesus father god we lift up our hands today because you are worthy to be praised lord god you say lord god many are the afflictions of the righteous lord god but you also say lord heavenly father that you will you have already overcome them praise over and over and over and over again good to see all of you god bless you i thank you that the favor of god is rested upon your life and my life god has been so good to us and he has afforded us yet another day and we're thankful for the gift of one more day if you're thankful give god a praise amen i'm glad to be here i'm so glad to be here and i do not take that for granted this is the day the lord has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it welcome to olivet baptist church and our total focus is on jesus uplifting the name of jesus sharing the glorious gospel of the kingdom and loving his people serving his people listen we want to pray for some very dear families we had a lot of home goings uh this particular week and so continue to pray for larry and gwen greene uh their brother pass or remember them in your prayers brenda washington's family want to pray her daughter went home to be uh with the lord and that entire family we want to continue to lift them before the lord such a sweet young lady bernard and carissa jones want to continue to lift them up in prayer and the ongoing of their daughter as well we want to continue to pray also that was gloria toner tony's daughter granddaughter as well kellie darden want to continue to pray for her as her mother went home to be with the lord katrina gordon her brother passed so much death so much depth and want to continue to cover that family in prayer okay and so so many people uh the millers the noveans want to continue to cover all of them the list i got a list i will appreciate our bereavement ministry and uh elder bramlett our urshas and people who serve on these funerals with me doing such a phenomenal job give them a hand because they serve our families and i am so appreciative for uh that ministry but we had such a busy week and still yet another busy week to come but thank you thank you so much death is busy and it is no respecter of persons and we just have to be ready when he calls us amen because we know the death is not the end we're just simply absent from the body and what present with the lord i just received the wonderful text message from somebody encouraging me and they said in the midst of all of this kovic and all that is going on it's like the disciples who were aboard the ship they said but in the midst of all of the storm don't forget that jesus was on board and jesus said peace be still so you know what i say to all that we're dealing with the master says peace be still in your home and your finances and whatever's going on in your life in your body peace be still praying for dr john amen john baker we're praying for your brother and so many situations but god is in control be not dismayed would ever be tired god will take care of us and i want you to keep trusting him and don't give up but keep your faith focused on our lord and savior jesus christ and i'm telling you he's going to see us through god is going to get us through this amen he's going to get us through this he's going to get us through it so we want to give at this time i want to commend this church thank you for putting god first thank you for being committed thank you for sharing your gifts and uh just being so faithful and um and giving to god and sacrificially giving giving your tithes and your offerings i cannot thank you enough and we are committed to doing the right things with those gifts so let's give them to the lord uh there's so many ways you see on the screen you can text and give and giving apps and uh you mail in your gifts those in here bring their gifts but make sure you have proper spacing and that you pay attention to what the instructions are from the urchins are so that we don't crowd the altar but we want to do it right amen father please receive our gifts and may our gifts edify the work of the kingdom father we're given to you we're not given to man we're not giving to no church but this is our offering this is our sacrifice to you this is our honor to you uh father we would sit here and not give anything if you hadn't done anything for us but because of your goodness towards us it makes sense today for us to be a blessing back god sharon so many wonderful people i like to include them to let them know that they are a part of the worship uh geneta all of these wonderful people we've been talking about the church of the missing five and that that thing has just really um i've been spending time with god i don't i don't want to be the church of the missing five uh corporately when i talk about olivet i don't want us to be the church of the missing five and no ye not the chi of the temple and the holy spirit lives in you i don't i don't want to be a church a temple uh of the missing five uh the ark of the covenant represented his presence uh there was no art there there was no glory there there was no fire no power no presence no urim and thunder which i'm going to teach today no discernment and then there was no prophetic voice you couldn't hear no prophetic voice to the nations you couldn't they didn't have a word from god to give to the nations and so we'll be talking about that in the the coming week but go to the book of ezra when was the last time you you heard a sermon from the book of ezra and so i want you to go down to the book of ezra chapter number two and we're going to get a sermon from god from the book of ezra and we're going to talk about discernment everybody say discernment and i promise you this is a very very important word the book of ezra ezra chapter number two and i want you to look at verse number 62 okay ezra 2 and 62 if you found it say i got it need a little bit more time say hold up all right i want to make sure now it's on the big screen too now all right we helping you out but it says these assault their register their records among those that were reckoned by genealogy but they were not found therefore were they as polluted but from the priesthood this is so good it says and the the terror shade the the shader that's the governor said unto them that they should not eat of the most holy things till they're stood up a priest with urum and with thumb take your seats please now let me explain what just happened now this is good because after the children of israel came out of babylonian captivity right they're coming out of exile they've been there for how many years have they been there 70 years right and they're coming back and they're rebuilding the temple and they're rebuilding the city and so you got to re-establish the priesthood you got to re-establish the levites right so now they have to go to the records the book of chronicles is really the book of records that's what chronicles mean records and they go to in the book of ezra they're going to the records to to see who is really a priest because anybody could have came back saying i'm a priest or i'm a levite because i need you to understand that if you was part of the priesthood man you live real good all right they took care of you you had an inheritance and all right you don't have to worry about land because land was provided for you uh so you didn't own land land was provided for you and you know you get to you you were able to eat the food that was left over in the temple after they offered sacrifices unto god you got the leftovers you see what i'm saying and so all of a sudden all of these people came back out of exile and they were saying we're priests we're priests so they started checking the records and guess what all the paperwork was gone during captivity when they was in captivity and going into exile the paperwork got burned up or got thrown away so there's no paperwork and then so if you could not prove that you were the father of someone okay okay because to be part of the priesthood you had to be you know ken to you had to be a son of aaron okay so you they you cannot prove that you were tied to aaron that you were part of that family so they said listen you cannot serve in here as no priest and so that disqualified you from eating of the food that disqualified you from the inheritance and you could not serve as a priest nor could you serve as a levite very serious stuff look at the verse one more time it says these salt their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy they was trying to point out how thumbna and it falls in your favor i'm going to tell you about the urim and the thumb it was used these two stones were used and they believed that the two stones fell a certain way because it was being guided by god okay and whatever way it fell god was making it fall that way to show the people you know which way god was leading them they said we're going to bring out these euro beneath them and if they say yes you're a priest we kind of go with it but if it says no then we know that you know god ain't called you but guess what happened look here they went looking for the urim and the thumb and you couldn't find them either so discernment has been lost somebody said that with me discernment was lost now i want you to write this down here's the first point what was lost what was lost okay in the old testament god had given the priest a way to discern his will make sure you write old testament that's old testament they used a device of two stones two stones the urim and the thumb to discern the yes and discern the know of god okay this device was used even by joshua put this down right real quick numbers 27 numbers 27 18 through 21. i want you to go back and read this on your own time how joshua even used the urim and the thumb these two stones to discern whether god was saying a yes or no i want you to see how he used them numbers 27 18 through 21 and then there was also used by saul put in your notes first samuel 14 41. first samuel 14 41 one more time first samuel 14 and 41. i also want you to put by samuel first samuel watch this first samuel 28 and five because you know what you're gonna find right there going to find that samuel had got not samuel but saul all right not samuel but saul saul had got so far away from god that guess what the euro man the thunderman wouldn't even work for him no more so guess what because the euroman orthomom would not work for him he went to see a witch he went to go see a fortune teller because the urum and the famine would not work for him any longer he says i guess i go see sister crystal ball all right now so joshua used them saul used them in first samuel 14 and 41 then it wouldn't work no longer for him in first samuel 28 and 5. all right david used it in 1st samuel 23 and 9. all i'm trying to say is that it was common to be used all right to discern the will of god now they were lost when the temple was destroyed no urim no thummim stay with me so the people lost the ability to discern the will of god some priests lost their proof and their records in the destruction of the temple when the exile was over no one could not decide their priesthood without hearing from god you couldn't prove that you was a priest if nobody could hear from god to validate your priesthood do you follow me and the urim and the thummin were gone say it's gone so because the ability to discern was gone these priests and their families lost their identity lost their blessings and then they lost their inheritance you just missed a good place to shout because they lost their discernment they lost their blessings they lost their identity and they lost their inheritance one more time to somebody get it because they lost discernment they lost blessings they lost identity and they lost their inheritance what am i saying to you when you lose your ability to discern you start losing stuff there are tons of people who are losing things every day and you can't figure out why you're losing things but it didn't just start with you losing things it started when you lost your ability to discern give god praise if you receive that is that not good is that not good when they lost their ability to discern to hear from god god is this a yes is this a no god should i go left should i go right god should i do this or should i should i not do this when they lost that ability to hear the voice of god and to discern his will they start losing blessings they lost their identity i can't even prove that i'm a priest and then they lost their inheritance stay with me don't go nowhere please this is gonna help us today now put up hebrews 5 hebrews 5 and verse number 12. hebrews 5 and verse number 12 because i'm going to tell you how critical this is i can't even wait till the end y'all know i can't hold nothing because look at me that's the same problem going on in the world today because this world has lost the ability to discern we're losing stuff we're losing blessings we've lost our identity we're losing our inheritance all right it's affecting the next generation because we've lost our ability our ability to discern it's going to get rough in here but you stay with me you fasten your seat belts all right we're going to hit a little turbulence but god is going to bring us to it all right for when for the time he ought to be what teachers he says you have need that one teach you again somebody say again which be the first principles of the oracles of god and are become such as have need of what milk and not of what now what is he saying what do you get when you hear that what is he saying to them he says you all are still what babies immature he says you can't handle no meat he says you're babies you still need a bottle you see what he's saying you steal babies you can't handle you listen he says you can't handle something you're not developed enough that you don't know no no piece of steak at best we got to stick a bottle in your mouth don't go nowhere next verse next verse for everyone that uses milk is what unskillful wear in the word of righteousness for he is a what he's not mature enough yet to understand and to handle the word stay with me this is good now watch the next verse but strong meat belonging to them that are of what full age even those who by reason of use somebody shall experience have their senses exercised to do what discern both what say it again so the more mature you become the more ability you have to discern between good and evil oh is there anybody in here can praise god that now that you are a little bit more mature you able to discern between that's good there but that's evil over there but you now before you shout you can look back over your life and there were some times that evil looked good to you oh you see okay some evil look good to you and some good stuff used to look evil to you when your mother would tell you to do certain things it was right you thought she was being mean but now that you've grown older you understand that she was trying to keep you out of trouble do i got into witnesses now follow me we grow from children to adults telling y'all stay with me this is good and on the way we should learn to discern when you're a baby you put anything in your mouth you got to stop baby put that down get that out of your mouth what you doing with that in your mouth amazing enough there's some christians still putting any kind of teaching any kind of doctrine in their mouth you know what he's saying because you haven't grown yet you haven't developed yet okay we grow from children to adults and on the way we should learn to discern the bible shows the development of the people of god i want you all to say this with me and i want you to write it down please please please put it in the comments and i want everybody to get this say priest say king say then prophets say one more time say priest say king say then prophet when god showed me this elder brandy this week i said god why is it i haven't been able to see this my whole life he said you weren't mature enough he said this meat you got to chew on this he said it's right there in the books in the bible i said god hey he said he said you were still on milk you could you got to chew this kevin do you not know what the bible the bible stars watch this pastor chris showing us priests adam was a priest that's why god told him to go out there and to tend to the garden to tend to the guard he was working as a priest then when you get in exodus god starts talking about the priesthood aaron is going to be the priest leviticus priesthood priests priests priests right then you start getting into the kings the book that's the next thing that comes in kings you start talking about first kings second kings you start time i saw that he started talking about david and then you start talking about solomon and you start talking to all the kings asa joe josiah and you start talking about jehoshaphat a rehab you start talking about all the kings then you start talking about the prophets you start talking about jeremiah you start talking about isaiah why does it go in that order priests and then you go to the kings and then you go to the prophets because that that's a progressive order of growth can i teach y'all first priest is at the level of where you are learning how to discern see the priest is where you're learning how to deserve then watch this kings is when you get ready to rule or you're getting ready to exercise dominion and then watch this it is the prophet who now has a word for the nations or word for the world but let me teach you you're not ready to rule anything if you don't have any discernment preach boy there's a whole lot of folk ready to take over but they ain't got no discernment you you wouldn't be a good king if you ain't got no good discernment who can lead folk and you don't know oh come on somebody how you don't have dominion but you don't you don't know which way to go you don't even listen to god why was david a good king because he's a man after my own heart you see what i'm saying and that's what god wanted to do with adam he put him in the garden he said start out with being a priest just tend to the garden just listen to my voice just do what i tell you to do he says then i want you to have dominion over the earth and then i want you to spread my glory over the whole world and adam messed it up at priest level he couldn't obey god at priest level so he never got the opportunity to exercise dominion and that's he didn't he never got the opportunity to spread the glory of god over the whole world somebody say discernment no i said god put adam and eve in the garden to be priests then take dominion over the garden then spread that dominion through the rest of the world you have to learn to discern before you can rule say that with me you have to learn to discern before you can rule one more time you have to learn to discern so could it be somebody's asking god for promotion and god is saying when you show me you can discern when you show me that you can run with the right people and get the wrong people out of your life two people said amen when you show me that when i give you money you don't go out and buy stuff you don't need somebody say discern come on somebody say discern if this is good give god praise [Applause] can i teach you what discernment looks like before you become a king before you rule y'all into it now see it took you a minute but you got it now put down first kings three and nine put it up y'all somebody got it somebody going crazy on the on on on uh watching it virtually i'm looking at y'all all right i see you zach somebody going in see all right in first kings three and nine watch this god comes to david and he's getting ready to rule right kings have dominion and god says what can i give you what can i get you look what he had and look what he comes back with he says give therefore thy servant what what is the understanding hard discernment he says if i'm going to rule if i'm going to have dominion i got to have discernment first so he asked god for understanding heart give me this sermon to judge thy people that i may discern between what good and bad for who is able to judge this thou so great of people give me one more verse because i feel like preaching this next verse and the speech pleased the lord god got happy heaven god happened the solomon to ask this thing come on give me one more verse i'm greedy and god said on him because thou has asked this thing and has not asked for thyself long life neither has thou asked riches for thyself nor hast thou asked the life of thine enemies but thou has asked for thy self understanding to discern judgment come on what can i do now for you behold i have done according to thy words i've been given your wise i don't understand the heart so that there was none like thee before thee neither after uh after thee shall any arise until the uh unto thee come on i'm so excited because i know what i'm getting ready to say and i have also somebody said also i i'm getting ready to give you what you didn't ask me for both what riches and what honor so that there shall not be any among the king's like unto thee all thou day this is worth you coming to church today this is worth you virtually watching this service today because guess what god said i can trust you with riches man i can trust you with all this stuff today cause you got discernment you know the difference between good and bad you know the difference between good and evil is some folk you wonder why god ain't bless you yet because he can't trust you with it you're praying for stuff god won't give to you because god says i know you will mess it up because you don't have the discernment you don't know what the you can't you you don't understand the difference between good and evil say so what was lost the second point is growth and discernment and here's the last and final thing discernment today everybody say discernment today i want to make sure i gave you the three points what was lost growth in discernment and discernment today thank you lord we are called to grow in discernment by prayer here this is how you grow in discernment by prayer bible study and from hearing the holy spirit those three things make sure you write them down we grow from bible study prayer and hearing from the holy spirit listen we don't need no urm and no thumb you you listen we don't you you don't hear no more about the euroman the thumb after the second temple was uh uh i mean was being rebuilt and after the temple had been torn down tell me somebody's screaming at me why is it we don't need no human or thunder because we got the holy ghost and he the holy spirit will lead and guide you in the truth now if they would use a couple of stones when they got ready to make a decision they said go bring out the urim and the thumb and and then the priests would throw them down and have a way they fell they say okay you know we know how god is leading us remember when jonah was on that ship and they cast lots and having the loss failed they knew which god which way god was leaving them if they would every time they got ready to make a decision if they would use the euroman the thumb how is it that you and i got the holy ghost living in us and every time you get ready to make a decision you don't go to god and ask god to lead you you got to get up every morning saying lead us not into temptation deliver me from evil god i don't know what's out there today but you you know i need you to lead me and see ah i'm preach it in the next service can i give you a little bit come on a little commercial if the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was so bad why did god put it in the garden in the first place i don't believe that it was bad i believe the purpose that god wanted adam and eve to grow with him and learn from him what was good what was evil but satan came and tricked them and said you don't need experience you don't need to mature you don't need to walk with god you can be just like god today you don't have to go through nothing you don't have to walk with him you can get it in an instance and they fail for it but see it's some stuff you'll never learn unless you go through experience you got to walk you got to grow you got to go through some stuff that's why some of us are going through some trials right now because i grew up i thought i knew would admit that he was a doctor in the sick room i was just talking y'all i thought i knew when i when i used to go around he's a lawyer in the courtroom he he you know you know if you know he makes you feel rich when you don't have a diamond i was just talking i didn't know what i was talking about he make your enemies behave there's no friend like the lonely jesus i was just forgive me i was quoting other folks testimony that's all i had i didn't have no experience but baby now that i have walked with god now that i have been through my own stuff i know that he is a shield in the time of a storm i know he's a way maker oh god you come on i don't need to borrow your testimony i know he'll open doors that no man can shut i know he's the alpha and the omega i know he's the beginning and the end i know he'll bring you out i know if he did it before he'll do it again i know he can heal cancer i know he can heal lupus i know he can heal sugar diabetes anybody know what i'm talking about i know god is a good god i know he's a merciful god i know he's a gracious god why because i've walked with him i've talked with him late in the midnight hour he'll wake me up just to tell me that i am his child i got experience with god i got a resume with god i got time with god [Applause] and i've been messed up in my life where he taught me son that's evil and i know it's evil and i haven't been through some stuff where god had to point out and say something that don't look it may not look appealing to you but that's good you better learn how to listen to some folk now let me tell you something i'm through and i get ready for the next service but i'm concerned about what's going on now because i'm sitting with my little granddaughter just the other day and i'm i'm concerned because i'm sitting there and i'm hearing cartoons cuss and we're sitting there watching cartoons and it's a power puff look cartoon little girl on there and the little girl just in the middle of a hauled off and cussed and i said well whoa whoa i said lauren did you just hear her cuz she said she cusses all the time and i was in shock i said bugs bunny didn't cuss twitty bird didn't cuss i said what's wrong what's wrong with this little girl and then they were discussing where they gonna learn how to cuss teach each other how to cut this is a cartoon then we're riding in the car and every song you turn on talking about how they gonna suck some woman up how you gonna go shoot somebody and we have a culture a generation that we lose in discernment we have a generation that it's okay to talk to your mama any kind of way we got a generation where it's okay to talk to your daddy any kind of way it wasn't like that a few years ago you couldn't talk to your mama you couldn't cuss your mama out and still walk you couldn't you couldn't you you couldn't live in your folks house and just do anything and everything you wanted to do we lose and discernment it's okay to take it's okay to be walking your dog and somebody walk up and say what kind of what kind of dog that is well that's a german shepherd is it a boy or a girl well it's a girl no problem but now if you walk up and ask uh is that is that child male or female you can get sued we've lost discernment this nation world is losing discernment what's a marriage is it a man a woman we're losing discernment and it's bringing death you got people and i'm through with the hospitals the floors are full and i'm doing funerals every day now and you still got people arguing i don't think you shouldn't wear no masks and i don't think you should get no shots and i don't think you should do nothing i think i don't want my kids to wear no masks and i just think it's all the whole thing i just we've lost discernment we can't tell what's good we can't tell what's bad and we got graveyards piling up because death comes when you can't tell the difference between what's good and what's evil put on first corinthians 1 and 14. i finished the rest in the next service i i've been crying this week crying out to the lord because i'm like lord 2 14 2 14. i'm like how do we turn this thing around there it is i'm like how are we going to turn it around and god says i'm going to tell you what happened kevin and you can let the folk go but the natural man receive if not the things of the spirit of god for they are foolishness unto him neither can he know them because they are spiritually discern listen to me jesus is the wisdom of god and when you reject jesus you reject wisdom when you rebel against jesus you throw out wisdom and i'm sorry but all this stuff we're running around with i'm i'm not really a christian i'm not really a believer i'm a spiritualist and we're throwing jesus out and you're throwing discernment right out with it and now we have a generation don't know the difference between good and evil right or wrong and people have become so wicked that they're even having talks about why they think nothing is wrong with them sleeping with children it's a dark time in this world and if we don't get our children back to the word of god and as for me and my house we will serve the lord i don't care what everybody else is doing i don't care what the commercials i don't care what the shows are doing but we're gonna serve the lord [Music] then this world won't be fit to live in is this making any sense [Music] i want you to pray wherever you are i want us to pray but you see how that went i want you to bow your heads if there are those who need to come to the altar because the only way you get wisdom is to get jesus and there's those those that are in here who's saying i need god's wisdom right now in my life if that's you i want you to just i don't know what to do with this i want you to come just kneel at this altar right now i need i need your wisdom i'm dealing with some things god i don't know how to deal with these folks i don't want to do evil i want to do good come you just let this alter somebody virtually watch you right now make you an altar at home and ask god to lead you if you unsaved come to this altar if you want to say put it in the comments but all that's going on in the world god floods and wars celebrate the memory of a 9 11 this is a plague we're dealing with this virus is like a plague it is a plague and god says in exodus 12 when the death angel comes through whoever house is not covered with blood nobody will be spared unless the house is covered by the blood of the lamb if you don't think your life is covered right now with family members we're losing co-workers we're losing school peers we're losing right now put it in the comments lord i need you to cover me if you need a church home and god has led you here cover me lord cover me somebody in here you just need god's wisdom you don't know what to do some money just came in your hand recently you need god's wisdom god wants you to grow with him in wisdom before you leave before you make that next step you need the wisdom of god [Music] oh i feel his presence you need his wisdom because you're telling your kids where to go and where not to go you need his wisdom before you walk out of the house because some places you may go may not be safe i need the wisdom of god everybody in here pray everybody watching pray stop praying if it ain't safe at work god stop me i need you to speak to me in the night seasons my daughter's life is at stake my sons cover us jesus with your blood oh hallelujah cover the people who are virtually watching i even pray
